Guest Mana
Okay, this is original. I'm interested in what everyone thinks is the best weapon used in anime. I'm trying to find out what everyone thinks so that I can learn of new weapons and see what other people think. But I myself think that the best weapon used in anime is the 454 Casull from Hellsing. It is an amazing handgun, and it is so powerful.
Guest Azalie
I like the Tensaiga Sesshomaru weilds in Inuyasha! ^^ It'd be cool to revived people who died. i wouldn't have to go through much grief then. :)
Sol-Blade
The Riflebird and Cross-Punisher were both pretty cool. Riflebird being Vash's revolver in Trigun and the Cross-Punisher was Wolfwood's weapon. The Evangelion Units (Can they count? They are manned...
for the first half of the series anyways, then you learn what some of them really are
) were also pretty slick. And if they can count, then the Gundam's take all! Seriously though, on a...non-mech...perspective, the Cross-Punisher was awesome. Godelsensei
Well, in the way of straight and simple coolness, I'd have to agree that (although I cannot stand the series--Trigun) Wolfwood's weapon is near the top, due to the sheer obscure irony of it. Sagara Sanosuke's (Kenshin) Zanbatou is immensely cool, though it's not very practical. The degree of damage (Sorry if I sound rather DnD-ish in the upcoming rest of the post.^^") one would take from it if hit is immense, but due to its size it would be very difficult to wield, and even if you could lift it, its length would make it hard to maneuver. However, I suppose one could also use it as a bludgeoning weapon, as it is so heavy. xD One of the best cleavers I've ever seen. Zabuza's (Naruto) version of the same basic weapon is actually of significantly better design, as it is clearly lighter, and also due to the fact that it has a dip in the blade for blood to gather in, preventing it from getting on the user's hands, making them slippery. It also looks alot prettier. Though they aren't specific to any one character (even though Haku [Naruto] does use them as his primary weapon) senbon are very neat, as they can also be used as medical tools, the irony of which is just a touch scary. Kenshin's sakabouto is pretty neat because it's deadly yet not so at the same time. (He
does flip the thing around once or twice, if you'll remember.
) Aoshi's twin swords are quite cool, as well, simply because they're twin weapons, requiring ambidexterity, which is always very cool, somehow. Another weapon I've always had an affinity for is the scythe that the gay guy in the Juppongatana wields. The addition of the mace at the bottom makes for a particularly dangerous game of Hop-it. xD (*jump jump jump* "AUGH AUGH!! That's not supposed to come off!!!") Temari's (Naruto again) giant three-star fan is pretty damn awesome, as well. I mean, who doesn't love a weapon that can blow all your enemies weapons back at them? It can also be used as a bludgeoning weapon, of course, and something to
hide behind when fighting Shikamaru.
Karasu (Naruto) is another truly innovative weapon, seeing as it doubles as a puppet. And to continue with more Naruto...
If you're a certain some one, you can always just rip out your spine and use that to kill people with.
DiscoSnorlax
For some reason I've always been a fan of ridiculously-oversized mallets, kinda like the one Amy Rose has, or the one with a big star on it in this GC game I played at the store once, the game had mario and Kirby and some other game characters. (alright, the game isn't anime, but it's still a good example of the weapon)
Dragon Warrior
Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in the show "Yu-Gi-Oh!" I mean, c'mon! They have the power to make people lose everything from their sanity to their lives. If you lose a duel, you lose a lot more than dignity. Though I'm only kidding right now when I say the cards are the best weapon, I just wanted to state how silly that show can seem sometimes. I use to watch it, though, so don't think I'm anti-YGO. Guest ScirosDarkblade
Along those same lines, probably the best weapon in anime is a Pokemon, if that counts. Groudon or something; one of the big higher-tier legenarys. Those guys are huge, pack a wallop, and they have their own intelligence, which although ridiculously low is still beyond that of a sword or gun. For most Pokemon, anyway. Can't speak for Magikarp. ...EVA units aren't too shabby either... Okay, okay. A "weapon" weapon. Hmmm... well, I haven't seen almost any "action" BS anime so I don't know of any cool weapons other than Wofwood's cross arsenal. Oh, oh! Belldandy's staff from Ah My Goddess! The Movie. That thing is hardcore. It can at the very least freeze stuff solid, and that's probably 1% of what it's capable of (or less, if you know the universe of AMG/OMG). Guest bigspike
i agree wit Sol Blade the cross punisher is pretty good. Try explaining why you like that particular weapon. Your posts in other threads have been fine, but this one could use a little more detail. EDIT: Thanks! ~Dagger~ ok sry dagger. if u watch the show the cross punisher has gotten wolfwood and vash out of alot of holes. if you ask me, the only bad thing about it is it looks pretty damn heavy
ChibiHorsewoman
Those wands that SailorMoon kept getting throughout the series were pretty neat. Depending on the setting of the show she either destroyed the youma or purified it. That would have been fun to do. What about Totosai being able to breath fire? That woudl be considered a weaon, right? That's probably one of the best qualities of his character. That and teh fact that he gets to yell at both InuYasha and Sesshomaru. I can't really think of any other weapons from anime right now. I need sleep

Lord Naraku
I think the best weapon of anime is the Tetsusiga (I think thats right?) that Inuyasha wields. An even better weapon then that is the double-bladed sythe the Death Sythe wields in Gundam Endless waltz. Lord Naraku
Beorhun
Either has to be the Tetsusaiga or the Tensaiga. If Sesshomaru really wanted, he could bring an entire dead army back to life under his control. The cross punisher is also my favorite weapon in Trigun, exept, wait, does the angel arm count? Albel the Wicked
It seems to me that everyone is forgeting the awesome sword of Sesshomaru's known as Tokyjin. THAT is the best weapon. It's more powerful then the Tetsuaiga, although it doesn't come with cool techniques like the Tetsauiga and Tensaiga. Tokyjin is cool though. Lord Naraku
I have to agree with you on that, because Sesshomaru is cool all in himself. Everyone asks me why I like him. And I would have to say its because he acts for hiself...doesnt depend on anyone, and has his sword.... Lord Naraku
Shiro_Ryuu
I think that the coolest weapon in an anime is the katana that Jubei uses in Ninja Scroll not only because I like katanas but also because it has a string tied to the sheath so if his sword gets knocked off and its too far for him to pick it up, he can use the string to drag it next to him. poo62.2
I think the best weapon in an anime is the castor gun off outlaw star. It was such a cool idea to put spells inside of bullets, a very simple idea, but a very good one. On the last episode of outlaw star, I would have liked to have seen a castor gun battle between Gene and Ron mcdougal
sadly there isn't one
but it never the less, the Castor gun defiantly deserves its place in the history of anime weapons
Guest The Pro
Deathscyths scyth is without a doubt the best, becouse i mean comon. One:It looks awsom. Two: It can cut throguh pretty much Anything and Three: Its a scyth *****, what would you expect?! Also the Tokyjin wasnt all that good, couse he DID lose eventually... plus it is just a simple straihgt blade, kinda ugly, soi dont reallylioke it, i prefer proabably the Buster Cannon that Wing Zero has, that thing is UNSTOPABLE! just not as kool as ther scyth! Delta
Hmm... I wonder if Shugo's Twilight Bracelet is considered a weapon. You know, the one from .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet? Though it's useless (and not to mention virtual) in the "real" world, it's practically invincible in The World. It kills most of the monsters and even other players get affected by it! One sword stands out in the whole Rurouni Kenshin series: Shishio's Homura-dama. The steel's re-tempered everytime Shishio sets it ablaze and it feeds on the oil of its victims (eeew...) to stay as sharp as it was the day it was made. It fits Shishio perfectly! Love and Peace! :love2:
Dagger
Larva, a character in the Vampire Princess Miyu OVA and television series, has a number of very nifty weapons--including his long-nailed hands (which look vaguely like white gloves and can cut through any material), a giant scythe and the ability to generate magical fire. In both romance and battle, he and Miyu make an exceedingly cool pair; it's unfortunate that the TV show kind of... well, sucks. ~Dagger~
ChibiHorsewoman
YOu know who else has a neat anime weapon? Kagura from InuYasha her fan can be pretty damaging-
atleast it was to Koga
. She has that neat attack with the dance of the wind blades. Too bad she only has one attack and it can't save her from Naraku. Another one is Vash's guns-the ones he has for arms that he barely uses. Now, I really wouldn't want to have my arms turn into guns when my evil brother wants to prove something, but they seem rather interesting and they'd be useful to have around in a war zone, don't you think?
Lord Naraku
Another good weapon in anime...welll its not really a weapon but a thing....is Naraku himself. Just think about it....he can make detachments that fight for themselves...He can make the demon puppets so that he doesnt have to go out by himself(Cowardly i know but clever), and he can fight but making his arms into spears and things. Also i forgot he can regenerate his lost body parts...because of the demons Onigumo absorbed. Lord Naraku
The F-Bomb
From Love Hina, I'd say Naru's fist is the ultimate weapon. Anything with as much power as that thing can't be of this world :D . More seriously, my favorite anime weapon is Gorra Nova, the sword of light from Slayers. Generally, the weapon itself isn't a whole lot more special than your typical light sword, but when
Phibrizzo takes control of Gourry, the one that wields the sword, you get to see the true to potential of Gorra Nova. Needless to say, the enormous amount of power it has is astonishing, making it something akin to a gigantic laser cannon. Not only that, but it also gains the ability to absorb some of the most powerful spells, including the Dragon Slave
To create spoiler tags, just type [spoiler*]text
, minus the asterisk. Thank you very much for being so considerate. :) ~Dagger~ It was no trouble Dagger, and thank you very much for helping me out :)
lcrisler
My favorite weapon is Genjo Sanzo's Demon Banishing Gun from Saiuki. Looks normal enough, concealable in a jacket, and the target vanishes without a trace! No muss, no fuss! -__o
ChibiHorsewoman
My favorite weapon is Genjo Sanzo's Demon Banishing Gun from Saiuki. Looks normal enough, concealable in a jacket, and the target vanishes without a trace! No muss, no fuss! -__o
You would put something like that. I think that Sesshomaru's poison talons are a pretty neat weapon. You don't even have to worry about how to get those things through airport security since they're already on your body (ie your fingernails). As an added bonus, since they pretty much seem like some sort of acid you could do things that don't involve killing with the poison talons. Like what you may ask? Well, you could melt the combination lock off your locker if you forget your combination. Infact you could probably melt a whole row of lockers if you were so inclined to do so. Okay, so in the long run you'd probably get expelled for destroying school property and you'd have to pay a lot of money to get the lockers replaced, but hey, you got to melt something. Oh and not that she's really much of a weapon at times, but Ryo-Ohki Ryoko's cabot/ space ship from tenchi muyo is pretty nifty as well. When you're not using her she's a cute little pet who looks like a rabbit yet acts like a cat. However when you need a space ship all you need to do is toss her up in the air and poof you have a space ship that any space pirate would be proud of...I guess. I wonder if you need a special driver's liscence for that.
Delta
GetBacker's Dr. Jackal has got some very unique weapons. He has these glowing scalpel-thingies that just pop out from his skin! There's another version of this weapon: a red flame saber (quite different from from Shishio's) that he uses in the later episodes. Now there's another character who'll pass through airport security unhindered. :D
