Zidargh
(Noone Ever Really Dies) So I felt like creating a thread dedicated to this band specifically. I understand people have mentioned it in the Hip Hop thread, but there's been no true discussion and I personally believe that N*E*R*D isn't solely a Hip Hop band. If you hadn't noticed the true diversity this band brings, then I will inform you that they mix Hip Hop, R'n'B and Rock together. An excellent mix as this appeals to a larger range of audience. So far, they have released two albums. In order from newest to oldest, the names are, Fly or Die, and In Search Of. Admittedly, they have released a Japan Only E.P and various other versions of the two albums to other countries. I personally preferred their first album in the beginning, but the more I've listened to Fly or Die, it's seemed to grow on me. I'm not a huge fan of Maybe, but apart from that, I feel that the rest of the songs are at least decent; Especially Fly or Die, or She Wants To Move. Though, I hate it when songs are just killed when they're overplayed by chart radio stations. (She Wants To Move) for example. The trio consists of Chad Hugo, Shay and Pharrell Williams; The man responsible for Justin Timberlake's success. You can catch him in that Senorita video I think, lol. Not that I care much about JT or anything. Chad and Pharrell were once a duo, and named The Neptunes. After finding Shay, they formed N*E*R*D, and released In Search of, in Europe 2001. However, they were not happy with the results and with the help of another funk band, they renovated their album, bringing N*E*R*D to new levels. And to this day, I think they're an awesome band. So any songs/aspects you enjoy/hate about the band?
Bullet Theory
NERD is a great band in my opinion. The way they blend rap, R n' B, and Rock together is amazing and a breath of fresh air to the industry.

I was a little skeptical and didn't know what to think of the group, but after listening to mostly all of the In Search of cd and Fly or Die cd I think I am going to go buy it to have to play for my own amusement. I love the way they do their music Like the Black Eyed Peas every song on N.E.R.D.'s cd Fly or Die is diffrent from the one on the track before it making the cd a great experience and it has alot of amazing dance songs on it. BlueYoshi
I had major hots for the female dancer in She Wants To Move. As for the band... I haven't really heard that many of their songs to make a solid opinion. Heh, I didn't know that N*E*R*D stood for No one Ever Really Dies, though. I'm always so misinformed :(. Juu
EEE! I lovvve N*E*R*D! ^__^ They're pretty much the only kinda hip hop-ish band I like at the moment. Pharrell's voice and the music... they're just very different, and REALLY awesome to dance to. Pity our school dances mostly play RAP, though, when they could be playing fun stuff like this. =S But eh. Right now, I'm loving 'She Wants to Move', 'Fly or Die', 'Rock Star Poser' (?), and 'Maybe'. Dunno. Just mass-downloaded a bunch of their songs, and those are my current favs. ^_^
Celia
Nonono, our school only played one rap song by Eminem, that's it. Honestly, I haven't listened to their songs as a group, but Pharrell's featuring somebody else. He's so friggin' HOT! In 'Boys', he sounds smashing! *drools*
Juu
We had Eminem?! o_O;; Gah, but remember the Valentines Dance? That was a disaster. They started off with this slow rap song, and everyone was like o_o. As for 'Boys', Pharrell's bit is the relief of the song. It'd be fun using this as our dance-thing this year for gym, though. ^_^
James P. Galvatron
Well I love N.E.R.D. I plan to get their second cd Fly or Die soon and their first cd which In Search of Something was one of the greatest cds I ever heard of I love the songs Lapdance, Provider, and Rockstar off of it. On Fly or Die I love the songs Chariot of Fire, She Wants to Move, She Wants to Move Remix with Beenie Man, and Maybe.
Pumpkin
The Funny thing is about all this is that My sister's roomate's ex-girlfriend (still with me) dated the girl in the N*E*R*D Music Video "She wants to move" the girl with the red dress on. She's an actress and was also in Big Daddy. My sister is in love with Pharrel Williams, so we went to see there concert featuring Black Eyed Peas and Eclipse. It rocked, oh and the black guy from the black eyed peas with the braids was sitting in our row listening to N*E*R*D he was covering his ears and telling a girl the music was very loud and everyone was screaming. I love there new album Fly or Die. It has a wierd twist to it, something very unique and different. They are one of my favorite bands at the moment :) Plus I have connections! Outlaw Melfina
They do have a mixture of stuff, i.e. music. I first got introduced to them when I watched the video Rockstar. They confused me when I saw them around. They are alright, but their songs are so catchy, they get sickly after a whle.
