Canathael and Maya made their way through endless corridors towards the time portal. Canathael's blanket had long since been cast aside yet he still wore the tight shirt that had belonged to Maya's father. Maya walked beside him, her hand loosley gripping his own. The other holding the book that Li had been reading.

They were both tired. It was apparent in the way they shuffled their feet up the corridors, and hung their postures carelessly as they meandered onward. It wasn't long before they saw the others standing patiently, waiting for the two.

"I appologise for making you wait..." Canathael murmured lowering his gaze to the floor.

"I's no' a problem Lad." Morgan spoke assuringly, looking over the two idly. David cleared his throat,

"I've already transported Li's Sarcophogus to-" He began to explain when Sarek cut him off,

"What's a-"

"It's a big coffin" David interupted to get his sentence through, "I'll be droping you near it. The place you'll be in is far out of the way of people, so you wont have to worry about being questioned."

"Then why the periodical clothing?" Peiter asked

"I think Li would have liked it that way..." Maya spoke up, clutching the book to her chest, "So let's just go ok?"

Dave nodded slowly, tapping on a controll pannel near the portal's archway, and opening the way to an old China. He lifted his head before the crew walked through, "Good luck."

Canathael blinked as he looked over a swaying green feild with blue mountains looming in the distance against a shockingly blue sky. The sun hung low to the east and shone with an amazing clarity. A light breeze ruffled the sorcerer's hair and danced over his new clothing.

He wore a long silk white robe, folded about several times in the front and tied with a intricate black sash. Very simple, yet very elegant at the same time. In his hands he clutched his parting gift to Li, his own medicinal satchel.

The woman he hardly knew had been a fellow healer, and he thought it would be fitting to tie the two together with the only thing they shared in common.

Hearing the rustle of feet behind him, Canathael turned to face his companions.

Damn, sorry it took awhile for me to post, hehe, so let's get the burial over then get along with the rest of the chapter, I miei amici! Oh, and I'll just skip a few parts of this burial to get on with it, 'kay guys and gals?

Sarek emerged on the green grass of China in 239, which he found interesting. The grass was green and the trees looked brilliant, it was very different from the other timelines, and he liked it, though he couldn't know the true beauty of it all. not with his blindness.

He stepped forward from the portal, and gazed at his robes. He had never seen a culture wearing these kind of robes, though he had seen Li wearing them. His was light blue, with dark blue around a sash that was stretching from his right shoulder down to his waist. Light blue... it wasn't Sarek's colour, but then again he wouldn't know what was.

He knew Canathael had gone ahead of him, so he followed to where ever he might have been, coming through a bunch and pickly green bushes and meeting the wizard (...sorry, I just find it easier to spell!), who turned to meet Sarek.

"Wait up," a voice said calmly from behind. Sarek turned around, seeing Pieter Maya running from behind, both dressed in robes (colours are for you guys to describe). Behind them came Morgon and finally, Sutaru, who looked a little ill.

He stopped and panted near them, when he hadn't run very far.

"Are you okay?" Canathael asked, worried.

"I'm fine." Sutaru replied waving Canathael off with his hand. Canathael drew himself back, and nodded towards a hill nearby. Just before that, the group could see a coffin, a big one and a heavy looking one at that.

"David suggested myself, Pieter, Canathael and Sutaru carry the coffin to the grave," Sarek said, moving forwards behind Canathael. They walked for awhile until coming to the oak and heavy looking coffin of their friend, Li. Sarek stared at it for a moment, then sighed.

"I hope he dug the grave for us," he mumbled, moving to the back of the coffin with the other men and getting ready to lift it.

---

Sarek was beside the small gravestone of Qang Li, not leaning on the marble headstone but just standing near it. He was wrong, the coffin wasn't heavy, it was light and easy to place in the ground, and now he was standing silent with the rest of the group. Maybe they were crying, he didn't really know, but he didn't care about it, really.

'It's not my custom to make promises to the dead, not my people's either, maybe not yours. But you know what? Who cares about my people... I'll promise you this, I'll pay Marrek back, because in my world no one gets away with that kind of murder. Sarek promised Li, secretly, in is head.

He suddenly put his hand on his old wound from the gun back in the last age, and winced. Now it was starting to hurt... but his time was done over Li's coffin in the deep hole, he couldn't do anything more to help her, he never could have when Marrek killed her.

He bent down slowly, and reached into her grave as far as possible, still not managing to reach the coffin. Slowly he let his second spear, his clean one, his only replacmenet go and watched it drop onto her coffin, then went to leave China.

"Sarek, where are you going?" Canathael asked, breaking the silence and looking towards him.

"To fix my wounds... I can't do anything here, I pain my respects."

Morgon stood above the wooden coffin, gazing down into the black whole that was sooned to be filled. Her red robe was tighted with a white sash behind her. The small yellow-gold symbols that decorated her robe were pretty, but a little too feminne for her taste.

Morgon negelected to bring her head up as Sarek stormed from the group. Let 'em go. She thought. There be no point in brin' him back.

Morgon stepped forward, the other members still around the square hole in the ground. "I be sorry ye not be with us any'n more. But ye memory will never be lost." Morgon said aloud as she dropped her sword into the hole. "An' this be wha' I contribute to ye. Ye had a warrior soul an' fought to de death an' nearly beat me. De least I be given to ye, be me best sword. I hope ye enjoy de after life."

Morgon stepped back and waited for the others to deliever their gifts and small speeches, but she couldn't help wonder how Sarek was doing and before too long, curiousty had the better of her. She wandered off, stating simply she was looking for Sarek. She found him by the portal. He seemed to be looking at the scenery.

"It be pretty, ain't it?" Morgon said.

Sarek turned around to take in her sight.

"What are you doing here?" He barked at her.

"I figer I see wha' ye where up to. Guessin' Li's death ain't goin' over well with ye."

Sarek just shrugged and made his way towards the portal again.

"Hey!" Morgon called with a friendly tone.

"What." Sarek said dryly.

"I been meanin' to spare with'd one of ye, but things been to crazy for me to be doin' so. Since we be headin' back early an' all, I figer ye and me could spare?"

Sarek gave a slight chuckle and shook his head.

"Wha'?" Morgon's face filled with puzzlement.

"Sure, we can spare." Sarek smiled at her and vanished into the portal.

"Hey, wait up!" Morgon called after him as she dashed into the portal herself.

OCC: sorry its such a short crappy post

Yay!! It's my birthday, and now fall semester is finally over! :)

Maya knelt quietly down next to the hole in the ground where Li's body now lain. Maya's hair gently floated on the cool breeze that swayed the grass stems back and forth. Her hair was down, and rippled gently across the silk fabric of her gown. Maya had never worn such clothes before. The fabric was the darkest blue she could imagine, with shinny white characters up and down them. Maya had no idea what they meant, but she figured, and hoped they meant something of new life, and rebirth. A white sash was tied across her chest, and formed a bow at her back, her hair coming down to it. The clothes where slightly tight, but Maya didn't care, it was all for Li.

Maya scooted slightly closer to the edge as she laid the book in her lap, clasped her hands together and prayed. "Li, though I didn't really know you as well as I would have liked to, you where like an older sister to me. Thank you. Thank you for everything you have taught me. I promise I will be more devoted to my studies now, and I'll try to learn everything I can about history in your stead. I know you'll be watching over me, because as long as I remember you, you are never truely dead." Maya gently clasped the book, and grabbed on to the edge of the hole, as she leaned over and tried to put it on top of her coffin. "I give you this book that you loved to read on the ship. I hope you enjoy it, at least, you won't be bored up there." Maya said as a tear ran down her cheek, and she straightened herself up, and clasped her hands together again. "I promise, here and now, that I will NEVER forget you. And be it me, Cael, or Sarek, we WILL avenge your death. He will not go unpunshied." Maya bowed, feeling it appriopraite, though she knew nothing of Li's customs, and slowly stood up.

Maya had seen Morgon and Sarek already leave, but decided to wait for Canathael, shuffling over to gently grab his hand after he had finished, and tried to fight the tears she knew she couldn't hold back. "I'm sorry Li, but this will be the last time I cry for you. I must get stronger if I'm going to defeat him. I can't be a cry-baby. I'm going to hold my own, just like I've done all these years, and I'll get through it, cuz I know that now my brother and Katie are not alone, they have you to watch over me too."

Opps, sorry for taking ages to post ^_^;; don't die, Sands of Time! Oh, and in my next post we will get moving into another timeline.

Morgon had followed Sarek through the portal, while he was waiting near the wall beside the medical bay, clutching his wound tightly. He was leaning against the wall for support... never again would he trust adaptation to take care of a wound for so long.

"Sarek, are ye okay?" Morgon asked running down the metal ramp of the portal. Sarek held his hand up and nodded.

"Fine, just need to get a bandage around this wound or something. I'll train with you as soon as I get it fixed. I'll be fine." He shook his head slightly, and groaned, staggering towards the medical bay and almost losing his footing. "Go off to the training areas, I'll join you soon..."

"I fink I be stayin' 'ere with you, 'case you faint or-"

"I don't faint!" Sarek barked back at her. "Fine. Stay here, I don't really care." He mumbled, walking towards the medical bay again and almost tripping over his own feet, again.

---

Sarek was sat on the bench, cleaning his sharp sword with the tip of a towel and burshing his bandage wrapped across his strong golden armour carefully. Morgon was dashing around the room with her sword, waiting for Sarek to finish. This would really help him get his mind off Li, if he could. Sparring... he had never done it, but he knew what it was.

"Ready?" Morgon asked, stopping and turning towards the warrior.

Sarek stood up, with his sword in his right hand an a smirk under his mask. "Ready." He replied to her and brought his sword up to his face, still hidding a smirk. He began to circle Morgon, and she did, as well.

Who's going to take the first move? Sarek's going to take the first move, damnit! Sarek said in his head, still hidding his smirk. He would wait for awhile, then attack. He just had wait... wait...

Wait... he wasn't going to wait any longer.

Sarek jumped forward with his sword up, but suddenly stopped when he landed cleanly on the floor. He grunted under his breath, and stayed still, crouched in the training area and losing his grip on his sword high over his head. He closed one eye in pain, then dropped his sword and put his hand over his bullet wound.

"Sarek, are ye okay?" Morgon asked, pausing for a moment before moving towards him. Sarek didn't say anything for a second, but he looked up at her, and smiled.

"...Are you a fool?" He asked, touching the end of his sword with his hand and ready to pick it up. Morgon looked at him, confused. "As Dave would say, I got you." Then he picked up his sword.

Bah, comming home for holiday break leaves me a bit, howone would say "computerless"...But I'll post as often as I can, So worry not! Oh! Sloan and Rhian, I'm going to be using your characters in the sligtest degree, I hope you don't mind.

Canathael stood quietly at the top of the hill near the portal, quietly watching those that remained. He felt it would be the least he could do to wait for everyone. Although he didn't cast a gloomy thought on Sarek's and Morgon's early departure either.

He paused in thought. Untill now he hadn't given the sea faring woman much thought since he first caught sight of her. But it ultimately seemed that she was a part of the group now, and he should do well to properly introduce himself. She seemed to take a liking to Sarek, which could mean that she favored his tempraments. It could also mean that she posessed the same kind of behavior as the Icy warrior as well...

"Oh dear..." He though amusedly to himself, a broad smile playing across his lips.

"you're smiling..." A quiet voice spoke by his side.

Canathael looked down to see the young dark-haired girl they had recently brought aboard, whos name he could recall as Erika. He didn't have an answer for her thought,

"Just....thinking about something that makes me smile." he responded, a fragile remain of his smirk still remaining.

"Oh..." Erika cast her gaze downward, "It's just that, I haven't seen anyone smile since I came aboard."

"You will." Canathael answered promptly, looking down at the girl, "It may not seem like it now, but you will share our warmth soon enough."

Erika seemed to flash what looked like a small smile, before her attention was dirrected downhill. The others were beginning to head back up the hill.

"They're comming back." She said, watching carefully.

Sorry if that's a bt short, but if I don't help cut wood, I'm not getting breakfast.....

wow everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. But I have returned, and school has almost started again. >_<

Maya quickly made her way up the hill to where Canathael and Erika where standing. Maya nodded toward them both as she walked by, and made her way through the portal. Maya sighed as she felt her feet hit the cold steel of the floor of the portal room, as she opened her eyes and made certain she was inside the ship again. Maya took a couple of steps forward as she heard someone come through the portal behind her. Pieter emerged behind her, and gently touched her shoulder as he walked by and headed out of sight. Maya looked down, realizing she was still wearing the ceremonial outfit. "This is no good, I don't want to stay in this. I can barely move in it. I'll go change and hunt out Dave. I'm sure he can show me how to use this new computer system more efficiantly."

Maya jumped off the platform and headed down the hallway to the lift that lead to her room, hair flowing gently behind her, as she shuffled onto the lift, and pressed the button. "Wait!" Maya heard a voice call from below, as she saw Erika run up, but it was too late, the lift had already taken off. "Oh well, it won't hurt her to wait a bit," Maya thought as the lift stopped, and Maya headed to her room, and changed into her normal clothes (her uniform). "I feel so much more comfortable now." Maya exclaimed, as she took a seat next to the computer, and woke it from it's involentary sleep. "Alright Mr. Computer. How bout you show me where Dave is so i don't have to search the ship for him," Maya said quietly as she fiddled around the computer, finally getting a map of the ship to appear on her screen. Dave was pacing around in the control room, just where Maya figured he would be. She also saw Sarek and Morgon in a training room, Canathael and Erika riding the lift, and Pieter in his room as well. "Thank you!" Maya said as she taped a couple more keys and the computer went back to sleep mode. Maya then took her pony tail holder from the dresser, quickly put up her hair, and walked out of the room.

 • 2 months later...
Pieter sighed, brushing his blond locks away from his forehead. he hadn't known Li that well, hadn't even really talked to her. But the funeral hit him, hard. "Another dead komaraden" he muttered. He was still dressed in hsi ceremonial clothes, but a half empty bottle of schnapps dangled from his right hand. the soldier sat on hsi bed, in his quarters, occasionally taking a swig from the bottle.

"God..." he groaned, "Why? Why do so many die? I failed them...all of them...I should haveben able to do somethign about this. Saved them somehow. Oh...God...: He took another swig from the bottle and fell back on the bed, the bottle falling to the floor, shattering and the remaining liquor spreading slowly into a puddle on the floor. Mercifully, the German fell into slumber.

OOC:OH, THE ANGST! Short post, yes. But I am back!
