"What's Canathael doing?" Maya wondered quietly as Pieter returned to the table. "What's going on?" She asked, with a worried expression on her face.

"He had something to do, ja?" Pieter returned not looking directly at her, not even he knew what was going on very well.

"Alone? He had to do it alone? Why didn't you follow him?" Maya said as she started to get up from her chair. Pieter grabbed her hand, and forced her back down.

"He's got a communicator, he'll call if he gets into trouble." He said reassuringly.

"But what if it's too late," Maya said, as she watched two men enter the tavern.

"Canathael is strong, Maya. He can take care of himself," Li chipped in with a smile. Maya nodded her head, as she contiuned to watch the two men.

"So...." Sutaru said, trying to break the ackward silence. "Do you believe us or not," he asked, directing the question toward John.

"Well..."John started, sweating a little. "I"m not saying I believe you, but you seem like nice folk, all of ya except for that Sarek guy, so I guess there's no harm in showing ya around."

The group breathed a sigh of relief. Maya wasn't really paying attention to the conversation, she still had her eyes on the two gentlemen who had entered the tavern, who we now seated at the bar. "Umm, John." Maya asked as he caught his arm to get his attention. "Do you know any of those men at the bar there?" she asked as she nodded toward them, not wanting to point. John studied the back of the two carefully, and pondered. "I'm afraid not ma'am." John said as he turned back around.

"My name's Maya, you don't have to call me ma'am." Maya said back to him, as she looked to Li. "Is it just me, or does that one on the left look a little familar." Li studied the back of the man for a bit, and then nodded. "I think we need to get out of here," Maya said as she rose up.

"You mean, you think that's Pro..." Sutaru started. Maya nodded strongly, as she silenced him from saying the rest. "If we get caught now, it's all over. I think we should try to find Canathael and Sarek. I don't like the fact that we've broken up. And they don't even have John with them. How are they going to know where they are?" The group nodded as they followed Maya out of the tavern, being carefull not to be seen by the two gentlemen at teh bar.

"Should we try to contact them?" Li asked as they where all safetly outside.

"They couldn't have gone very far. I'm sure we can catch up to them. Are we ready?" Maya looked around, as everyone except Pieter nodded.

"I don't think this is such a good idea." he started.

"I don't think that's such a good idea," Pieter began, "I think that you should go find them, while I create a disrtaction to draw the attention of Protoisis. I will...what do you say? Make some trouble, ja?" He grinned broadly, downed the glass of whiskey in front of him, and stood, swaying as if drunk. He turned back towards the groups, shooing them towards the door as he winked "Get going."

He stumbled forward, bumpng into one of the larger men at the bar.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!"

Pieter frowned and responed in a slurred voice "Why don't you watch where you're going?"

"Are you looking for trouble, runt?" theman stood from the stool he was sitting on, rsing to a rather impressive height of 6' 4", towering over the 5'10" Pieter. Pieter grinned "Yes."

He drew his arm back and brought it forward, conecting solidly with the man's nose with a sickening crunch. The man stumbled against the bar in shock, holding his bleeding nose. "You broke my node, you litle shit."

"So I did, Ameikaner schwinen.." Pieter brought his knee up, htting the man between the legs, than grabbing his head as he doubled over, and slamming it into the bartop. The man groaned and slumped backwards. pieter turned, just as the man's friends gang-rushed him.

OOC|Who is left in the group? Sarek and Canathael left, and Peiter just left......so thats just me and maya right? I dunno if I am wrong I will delete this post also if I did anything wrong just pm and I'll fix it. ( I think I know I did something wrong for some reason....)
~*~
Sutaru and Maya watch Peiter a while as he was bashing one of the taller mans head into the bar table. Sutaru patted the pouch he recently bought that held peices of metal and other material. It was for his alchemy, it could help him make some dangerous
weapons.

"Ok,lets go!" Sutaru said

"Gotcha!" Maya said quickly as they started running

They were running as great speeds straight through the city with no direct direction. They just chose a direction they thought was good and stuck with it, as they ran through the city more and more people were crowding it. Some people were getting shoved out the way as the raced through the town and saw a figure that looked like Canathael. They were almost at the end of the city already and thats when they saw Sarek stop or what looked like Sarek stop. Sutaru seemed to think this was getting intresting, as they got closer the figures got clearer and it was Canathael and Sarek for sure. They were right behind Canathael when they stopped running and started to walk next to him.

" We found you Canathael" Maya said calmly while gasping for air

"Lets hurry up and get Sarek already so we can get this over with" Sutaru calmly but also gasping for air

They all arrived right behind Sarek and infront of him was a beutiful forest that Sutaru never seen in his whole life before. It was made up of pink leaves and pellets and if you walked close there it you would see a fog with a beutiful mountain behind it. Canathael walked closer to Sarek as Sarek slowly turned around and he seemed to be offended. Sarek raised his hand and back smacked Canathael, Sutaru thought he was going to punch him hard but it was probably because he didn't want to hurt him.

" You insult me then you have the nerve to follow me?" Sarek said in a deep voice

Sutaru was rolling on the ground laughing and then he remembered to do something. He took out a metal bar from his pouch and put it in between his hands. He did fancy hand movements then his hand glowed a misty purple color as a sheild appeared in his hands..........

OOC: Aye, Daisuke, there were Li, Maya, Sutaru and the new guide, John in the group. Just so things don't get confusing, is it okay if we ignore your last post so you can make a new one after mine? I'll have to do that anyway, heh.

Sarek continued his walk along the road which was already leading out the town. He could see a building up ahead, like a house, only a little larger than normal houses. He could see animals inside a fenced area, ones which he saw on the holographic image, and also the ones that looked like the Othleo, only... the Othleo were creatures who were much larger and had... 9 inch fangs, Sarek had some bad fights with them.

He shook a few thoughts about the Othleo and continued to walk towards the house, not sure if he shouold or not. But a curiousity brought him there, and he soon found himself looking at the creatures over the fence. One large brown one walked up to the fence, but Sarek didn't move. He just cocked his head to the side; he wasn't used to creatures being... non-violent.

"Howdy," a voice said behind him. Sarek was about to turn around, but he heard the clicking sound of a large gun, like the one John had. "Don't move, turn around!" the voice snapped. Sarek looked down at the ground in frustration, and turned around slowly, keeping his eyes down still. But he could just make out a man, not Marrek or Protosis. Then Sarek heard another man come from the house, but he didn't see him.

"Who's he, Will?" the other man asked, clearly younger. The person with the gun, clearly William walked towards Sarek, but Sarek still looked down.

"That's what I wanna find out. Get in here, now!" he snapped. Sarek could feel the edge of the gun near his face, but he knew he wasn't going to do anything they said. Suddenly, Sarek snatched the gun from Will's hands and threw it to the side, startling William when he looked up into his eyes. Then, there was a load bang.

A burning pain fell through Sarek's right arm. His shoulder, almost near his neck, but nowhere serious. At first, Sarek wasn't aware, but the other man had shot him. Though Sarek didn't fall to the floor, he just grunted and almost chocked on his own words. He felt his arm go numb and the pain increase, but he still didn't move. Then he knew he was wrong, the shot was serious. He then fell on his knees, but had no intention of falling to the ground, not yet.

Um, I'm just going to post...

Canathael winced when an angry voice erupted over his communicator, The sudden amount of noise drew a certain amount of unwanted attention towards himself. Even though he was nearing the edge of town there were still people about, staring at this odd man, some even drawing guns. The sorcerer placed a hand over the pocket in which his comm until was hidden, somewhat muffling the noise.

Canathael then nervously yet politely smiled before ducking down an abandoned alley nestled between a general store and an Inn. He pulled out the communicator, now recognising the angry voice as Maya's.

"Where the hell are you two?!" her voice screetched at him, "We did this separation thing before Canathael, it's not going to fly this time!"

He smiled warmly, distiguishing the worry in her voice, but still, there was no need for him to return empty handed.

"I'm sorry Lady Maya, But I have to find Sir Sarek." He spoke cheerfully, "Good day."

"Canathael! I'm gonna Kill you! You-" He had finaly found the power button, turning off the irritating device once and for all, no more distractions...

When he emerged from the alleyway no one threw him a second glace as he continued on his path. It wasn't long before he saw what looked to be a farm in the distance, an oddly fammiliar character croutched before a man.

"There you are..." Canathael smiled approaching at a slow trot.

"What's the matter Will?" The young man querried rushing off the front steps, keeping the warm rifle pointed at the stranger's face, "Don't you move, or I won't miss next time..."

"J-jimmy" The man adressed James, his hands shaking and his knees shakier, "That guy ain't right, look at his eyes!"

James' eyes went wide for a moment before he shoved the barel of the rifle towards Sarek's face, "Bring yer face up where I can see it."

Wether Sarek chose not to listen or he couldn't hear wasn't known, the only thing he paid mind to right now was subsiding the pain spreading through his arm. He kept his head low, eyes only focused on the dusty boots of those before him.

"Hey!" James shouted, "You deaf or somethin'? I said bring yer head up!"

Sarek began to slowly bring his head up, his eyes slowly focusing on someone familiar comming towards the farm...

"Dammit!" Maya yelled, as she closed the communicator, realizing that Canathael had cut her off. "What are you thinking?" she asked herself, as Sutaru came over, and John, who had prieviously thought that Maya was the only sane on in the group, took a few steps away from her.

"Whoa, calm down. I'm sure those guys are fine. They're strong, and can take care of themselves." Li nodded in agreement.

"It's not that," Maya started. "I know they're strong, they can take care of themselfs, blah blah blah. I have a really bad feeling about this. Something....just isn't right." Maya said as she shook her head. "It's hard to describe." Maya tried to explain as she snapped open her communicator again. "Dave, please, I need to know where Canathael is."

Maya heard some static on the other end as a grumpy voice came on the line. "What do you want now?" Dave asked exasperated.

"I need to know where Canathael is," Maya said more forcelly.

"What's happened now? Surely you haven't encountered anything bad already?" There was silence on the other end, as Dave sighed. There was some "click"ing in the background and after a moment Dave spoke. "Go straight down that road till the edge of town. You can't miss him. And don't bother me again until your ready to come home." The communicator beeped to show the end of the transmittion, as Maya turned around, grabbed John's hand, and started running down the road.

"Canathael, you idiot," Maya thought running as fast as she could, pulling John along. "You can't get away from me so easily. I'll find you no matter where you go."

Canathael was edging his way closer to the farm when Sarek noticed him. Sarek looked up at the man aiming the gun at him, and smirked under his mask and clothe.

"What are you, some kind of freak?" snapped the man named William. Sarek just looked at him.

"No, I'm French." Sarek teased. He didn't really know who the French were, he just knew they were people who lived in a place called France. He'd never seen a French person, and didn't care if he insulted them.

"Mock me, will ya?" James laughed. He moved the gun closer, and Sarek decided to act without Canathael. He used his one arm to quickly push the gun aside, making it fire a shot into the air, then grabbed James arm and squeezed it as hard as possible. James screamed, and Sarek grabbed the gun, smacking James in the face with it. Then, just on que, Canathael came running up, hitting William (who was about to attack Sarek) over the head, and aiming his gun at Will who was now on the floor. Sarek smirked under his mask again.

"Good job you came," he began. He walked over to Canathael, almost happy to see him. Canathael gave a smile, but Sarek soon changed that. He smacked Canathael's gun out of his hand, and aimed the larger gun at Canathael. "I don't think he bought the 'I'm Frecnh' excuse." he was serious. Sarek was aiming the gun at Canathael and he was serious about shooting him. He wanted to change his mind and shoot that William idiot who was groaning on the floor and rubbing his head, but Canathael had made Sarek want to shot him in the head, because no one had ever agrued with Sarek Luther, not in that way.

"Sarek..." Canathael began. Sarek forced the gun closer.

"I don't want to know." he growled. He clenched the gun harder, ready to pull the trigger, but didn't. Instead, he did what he did before, he dropped the gun (onto William's head, might I add). Sighing, Sarek turned around and muttered to himself.

lol, DRAMA! So Vicky, darling, what is it I should do?

The medeival brunette grimaced into Sarek's back, listening to him grumble. This game of cat and mouse was begining to draw his deepest darkest impulses,

"Kill me or not Sarek Luther," The calling of his full name made the warrior turn slightly, then halting at the sound of a pistol clicking to fire. Sarek mentally scolded himself for not realizing that Canathael held two pistols, one for each hip..."But I grow weary of your indeciseveness..."

He met the Ivy eyes of a killer, and damn him he was grinning too! Canathael held the same grin that he donned when his Master had admited to killing his woman, the same grin he wore as he strangled the life from that old fool, the very grin that flashed over the corpse of his victory...

he forgot what a rush it was to kill, and now he had his chance. It didn't matter that he was in a different time, using a foriegn weapon, or pointing it at an ally for that matter. All that existed was that urge to kill, that one glorious taste.

"Are you going to shoot me?" Sarek asked amusedly, end even though Canathael couldn't see it, he could tell that the man was smiling, "You don't have the potential, weakling..."

Canathael growled, moving the barrel of his weapon between the warrior's eyes, still grinning.

"You won't shoot me..." Sarek continued his eyes flicking off to the left for a slight moment, "You're weak, stupid, and you'll cry when this is all over with, won't you?"

The sorcerer's grin faltered a bit; he pressed the cold steel against Sarek's forhead with a great deal of force, a small preveiw of what's to come, "Goodbye Sarek..."

"Who's name will you cry when I'm dead?" He egged, "Will it be Maya's, your mother's perhaps?"

"Leave them out of this..." He hissed, narrowing his ivy gaze and pressing lightly on the trigger.

"Or maybe..." Sarek's gaze narrowed as well, he was going in for the kill, his gaze strayed to the left one last time, "You'll cry for that little bitch you were too weak to save in your own time?"

"BASTARD!-"

"Canathael stop!!!"

Canathael roared lunging forward and pulling the trigger, a gunshot ripping through the air. The bullet didn't connect with anything but the blue sky above.

Sarek had been watching Maya and company approaching, and took the time to enrage the sorcerer as they came. Before Canathael had a chance to fire Maya had screamed and Sutaru had grabbed him, throwing him down and was now currently sitting on the bewildered man, trying to subdue his struggling. He was screaming several curses in english but none of them could truly recognise what was comming out of his mouth.

"Whoa, easy there!" Sutaru shouted at Canathael below him, throwing all four lanky limbs around wildly, at any attempt to throw the moon being off of him. Sutaru however was in the better position, catching one arm and pinning it painfully to his back.

Maya turned on Sarek who was trying to wander away,

"What Happened?" She demanded of the warrior, he shrugged lightly looking down at the man who was about to shoot him.

Pieter grunted as he was thrown into a small, uncomfortable looking cell, much battered and bruised. The sheriff, along with several of the large man's friends sttod outside of it, glaring down at the German.

"And you'll stay there 'till I say you come out. Damn troublemaker!"

Pieter rose and walked to the bars as the sheriff and the other men walked out. He rubbed the back of his head ruefully. At least he had created a distraction.

"What the hell is going on?" Maya demanded as she took a station between Canathael and Sarek, staring Sarek down. Sarek shrugged, and started to turn the other way. "Don't turn your back on me!" Maya practically yelled, as she grabbed Sarek's uningured arm. Sarek turned around quickly and practically ripped Maya's arm off of his other one.

"Don't touch me," he hissed as he squeezed Maya wrist, lifting her a little into the air, toes an inch from the group.

"Let go," She demanded strongly, and quietly, trying her best not to let the pain now coming from her wrist qway her.

"Get your filthy hands off of her!" Canathael yelled as he struggled even more under Sutaru. Sarek shurged again, and threw Maya to the ground, though not has hard as he truely wanted to. Maya landed on her wrist, getting dust all over her dress, as she slowly stood back up, holding her wrist. "Our group dynamic sucks!" Maya exclaimed as one of the two men started to regain conciousness.

OOC: I might be going away on... Sunday, for a week, and I might be back on friday. If I am away, I'll trust you all to keep this alive for me ^__^

"Maybe he knows something." Sarek siad, ignoring Maya's comment. James, the man Sarek had hit with the rifle was starting to get up behind Li and John, who just stared at the "agruments". Sarek pushed past them, and before James could even get him he grabbed his shoulder and pulled him up like taking a tree out of the ground. James gasped when he saw Sarek.

"Freak!" he hissed. Sarek just looked at him. He knew it would be a perfect time for a statement, but he left it.

"Tell me what you were doing here, or I'll turn your eyes like mine, then we'll see who's the freak!" Sarek snapped. James gulped heavily, and shook his head slightly. Then, Maya came up behind, behind James that is and not Sarek.

"William an' I got into some trouble with some guy on a black horse, goes by the name of... Marrek or somethin' like that, " Sarek's attention was snapped towards James when he heard Marrek's name. "He was going to kill us or somethin', so me and William hid here. We thought you was one of his men!" Sarek gave a slight nod, and dropped James heavily on the floor.

"We'll spilt up. I'll take William with me. You you all go on with that idiot." Sarek ordered them, walking back over to William who was still lay on the floor beside Canathael. He shot a glare at Canathael, but ignored any temptation to put the Ancient Warrior at rest (by Sarek's standards he was Ancient). He grabbed William, and pulled the barely concusious man to his feet.

"You can't go on your own," Li said. "Take someone with you!" Sarek sighed at her remark, but nodded anyway.

"John. Since you know more about this place and the others spent time with you, you can come. Pieter... You should all go and look for Pieter." Sarek agreed.

"Still, there's two of you, and three of us. If we find Pieter one of us should stay here." Li countered again. "I will stay with this man." she pointed at James. Sarek sighed. His only two comrades to take with him was Canathael, or Maya.

"FINE!" Sarek shouted. "Which one of you?" he snapped at them. Maya and Canathael looked at each other uneasily.

Canathael heaved a shaky sigh after he had been allowed to stand. His hands trembled as he remembered holding a pistol to Sarek's head...Something he wouldn't have done if he had listened to his head and not his heart.

"You alright?" Maya asked by his side while Sarek argued group semantics with Li. He frowned, looking over the wrist she clutched to her waist, it looked quite painfull and began to make the sorcerer's blood boil again.

He averted his gaze to the dusty ground, "I'm well, thank you my lady" He mumbled, regaining what little controll he had left.

"Canathael, I-" She began but was cut off by Sarek's voice,

"Fine!" He shouted, "Which one of you?" He asked, looking in their dirrection.

Maya met Canathael's ivy eyes, worry swirling in their depths. The two stared for a few moments longer, before Sarek's voice cut in again.

"Did you hear me?" He growled impatiently, not particularly enjoying the fact that he might be stuck with one of them.

"If Lady Maya goes, he may hurt her again." Canathael reasoned in his mind, "I must take the lesser of the two evils...

He decided, "I will accompany you, Sarek." He said flatly, receiving a snorted answer from his masked ally.

"I don't care," Sarek said grasping the scruff of William's shirt and soving him on ahead to lead, he then turned over his shoulder to Canathael, "Just save your bullets for Marek and Protosis."

"Canathael..." Maya cried quietly, looking into his stone face for answers, "please, just, come back this time."

A small warm smile danced over his features breifly in that time, "I promise My lady." He answered, before turning heel to follow Sarek.

Maya watched worriedly as she saw Canathael follow Sarek into the distance and out of eyesite. "You better not break your promise Canathael," Maya said to herself. "Or else." Maya quickly shook her head to bring her back to reality, as she surveyed who was now left. Li was standing next to the still unconcious James, while Sutaru was standing next to her, arms folded.

"Looks like it's up to Sutaru and me to find Pieter. Are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself, Li?" Maya asked, though she already knew what Li was going to say.

"I"ll be sure to contact you if anything strange, or bad happens." Li said with a smile. "Please contact me once you have found Pieter."

Maya nodded, as she turned around, and headed back into town, Sutaru on her heels. "It might be too dangerous for us to use the communicators to contact him, it might get him into trouble." Maya yelled back.

"He might be in trouble already," Sutaru commented as they made it back to the tavern they where at before. Maya carefully opened up the doors, but noticed that Pieter was no where to be found. "I was right," Sutaru said as he glanced around one more time before the two left.

"Well, maybe he's waiting for us somewhere else," Maya thought out loud.

I'll be going tomorrow, so do me a favour and keep the RPG active for me, would ya all? If you want, Sarek could get injured and be out for awhile, but I'll only be gone until Friday.

Raising his hand in the air indicating William to keep moving, Sarek added a growl. William wasn't doing much, just stopping and mumbling words to Sarek. Canathael was behind with John, and Canathael was looking side to side to spot anyone. They didn't know were they where headed, but William was going to lead them to a river, and Sarek promised that if they didn't find a river within the next 2 hours William would be buried alive.

"Has your arm healed?" asked a voice from behind. Sarek glanced over his shoulder at John, who asked, and shook his head.

"No." he replied sternly. "The pain is still there and the wound, but since there wasn't anything to heal injuries in my time I just endured them." Sarek gave a slight pause, was about to speak again but didn't. The scruffy looking William ahead of them was laughing... sort of.

"I bet you wouldn't be 'fraid of death, neither." he laughed.

"No, I wouldn't. I was going to die anyway." Sarek replied. He began to get annoyed with William, though he didn't do anything annoying. Sarek just felt something was coming.

"Marrek says you're blind sort of, an' you don't see things the way we do." William began. Sarek sped up beside him and looked him in the eye. The cowboy gave a laugh at Sarek.

"Marrek? You talked to him?" Canathael asked from behind. "I thought you said he was going to kill you?"

"He was." replied William. "Well, not me. James. James was gonna die. I asked Marrek to kill him. You dumb bastards didn't even have a chance to kill me or get me on your side. When Marrek and Protosis get here before you, they always get what they want first. Marrek told me that. He's funny, and he apparently kicked your ass, Sarek." Sarek raised his eyebrow at the comment and growled, but William ignored it and continued. "Yeah, I know everythin' about these time travel shit. I don't believe half of it, but Protosis has a good offer in it for me. Ultimate power, a world of crime and bandits for myself. So I thought I'd go along." William finished with another chuckle, looking from Canathael, to John and then to Sarek.

"...An ambush..." Sarek muttered.

"What?" Canathael asked.

"You're leading us into an ambush!" Sarek shouted grabbing the neck of William's shirt again. He felt like knocking William's head off. Sarek and the others had shown him that they were superior, yet William defied them?

"There ain't no point runnin'. Marrek'll be here in a few minutes on his horse, along with that... pet, I think that was Protosis..." William's sentence began to drift into random thought and Sarek dropped him. He backed away and pulled of his sword, for the first time in the time era, from his trench coat and held it tight. "I thought you ain't 'fraid of death...? An' I know why, because you never really lived." William insulted Sarek again, but Sarek ignored it. Marrek could come in from anywhere, with guns and that dog thing, and they didn't know where to start scanning from him. All Sarek had was his sight and his sword, and all Canathael had was his guns.

umm...i got tired of waiting...sorry....trying to keep it alive...
"This is bad," Sutaru said as he looked around the outside of the tavern. "Where could he have gone? We'll have to use the communicator now." he said as he reached for his.

"No, it's still to early to give up yet." Maya said as she stopped him, and looked around some more. "Let's just go looking in windows or something." Maya said as she started off down the street, Sutaru following behind her, not really liking this idea very well. They searched many houses, sometimes getting stuffed throwed at them in the process.

"This idea stinks," Sutaru said as he reached one more time for this communicator, wiping his sleeve clean of the lettace that had just been thrown at him.

"No, wait!" Maya said as she stopped him one more time. "There's still two more places we havn't looked yet." Maya said as she pointed towards two buildings in the middle of the small town. One, was the church, the other, the Sheriff's office.

"You've got to be kidding me," Sutaru said as he followed Maya toward the sheriff's office.

"I'll check here, you check the church," Maya said as she started to head to a window with bars on it. "Pieter? Are you there Pieter?" she whispered, as she heard a gruff, and then the sound of a bottle dropping.

"Who's there?" came a voice that Maya slightly recognized. "Show yourself!"

"Oh great," Maya thought. "Sounds like he's drunk again. I knew he couldn't hold his liqour very well." Maya shook her head. "It's me, Pieter! It's Maya!" she said very slowly, and slightly louder then she wanted to.

"The walls...are talking.." she heard Pieter murmer, as she sighed and decided to just head inside anways. She hailed Sutaru from outside the door, but not going anywhere near the church.

"Thank goodness, let's get him and get the hell out of here." Maya nodded, and started to go inside. "Wait," she said. "I'll go in, if that sheriff guy sees you, he might be a little wierded out. I'll pretend to be his sister or something, if anything goes wrong, I'll scream, and that's your cue." Sutaru was starting to not like the idea that he was always having to stand around and wait, he wanted some action, but he nodded nonetheless, as Maya went inside.

Ho, humm, here I post....

Canathael grimaced, placing his palms on the butts of his guns resting at his hips. How could they have been fooled by a man who was a mercy's cry away from death? Had the world gone mad!?

He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to gather himself for what was about to come...This afternoon had been a tad more eventfull than he had hoped it would be. The West, being the charming façade it was really was just that, a façade! An Illusion, the earth was in chaos, no matter what time one could go to. The sorcerer doubted that there wasn't a place in time that was untouched by this human madness, and if by some chance there was, then may those who exist there be blessed.

"Open your eyes!" Canathael could hear Sarek's voice snap in his general dirrection, pulling him irritably from his thoughts, Then the warrior's voice changed to an odd tone that he had not come from him before, "I can't see too well, this heat's messing my vision up, just keep an eye out for Protosis..."

His tone almost sounded appologetic, soft at best...Canathael shook his head, obviously missinterpreting the tone...Sarek? Soft? That was likely, right, and someday the world would be frozen over...

Canathael ignored the track his thoughts had taken, then concentrated on the horizon around him, watching for a horse, and two figured he had not seen as of yet.

Thinking back, he recalled that he had no idea what Marrek and Protosis looked like since he had not encountered them in the Jurrasic because he was unconscious that entire time.

William took to cackling maddly again, dropping to his knees wearilly, "Yep, you bastards are done for," He forced between chuckles squeezing his eyes closed, enjoying his own private world of delusion and jokes, "I'll see the bunch of ya in Hell when-"

The betrayer's voice was silenced by the sound of a firing gun, giving both Sarek and Canathael means to start at its sound. John stood over William's body, stone faced and holding the same riffle he had used against Sarek when he had first arrived at the era. The young man looked up into the time traveler's bewildered faces,

"There's isn't any more room in this world for evil men..." he stated simply, gazing up into the cloudless sky solomnly, either reflecting on the moment or praying forgiveness for his actions, They couldn't tell. He lowered his gaze again, a bit softer than before, "Ahh, 'sides, his laugh was starting to annoy me..."

For a moment everything was still and silent, untill the remaining three began to make a noise that was seemilngly unnapropriate for the situation, they were laughing.

Laughing because they were tired and worn, laughing because this situation was so utterly helpless, They were laughing because all of them knew that they wouldn't have a good chance to leave this strip of land together.

A mounted figure in the distance smlied wickedly as he heard the laughter drift on the wind to his ears...

alright, that's enough of my poetic vomiting...

*Cracks knuckles* time ta get da ball rollin' again!

Sarek chuckled for awhile with the others, then stopped himself. What was he doing? He was laughing at something that wasn't even funny, and even if it was... Sarek didn't laugh. Perhaps the other humans and the half human man had polluted his blood! Or perhaps... they had cleared it a little, making him more human than ever. Sarek had never laughed before, but he was now. He chuckled again for a moment, and shook his head.

"Ever get the feeling you're being watched?" Sarek asked his two laughing... friends. He was getting that feeling, but maybe it was just some insanity kicking in.

"All the time." Canathael replied stopping his laughing slowly. John finally stopped, and gave a nod.

"We should contact the others and get back to them, anyway, then we can get out of here and get back to the ship. Since he's dead we don't need to stay anymore." Sarek said in his normal tone. Canathael looked at John with a sigh, and nodded. Taking out his small communicator, Sarek flipped it open.

And suddenly there was a load gun shot, making all eyes look up towards the hills. Sarek's communicator was smoking and had a large bullet hole through it, but that wasn't his concern. Canathael quickly took out both his guns and John aimed his shotgun.

But there were more shots. This time John's gun was shot out of his hands, and the Western man gripped his hand and fell on his knees, blood dripping from his palm from a gun wound. Canathael looked around but couldn't find the shooter, and in a matter of seconds he dropped both his guns when another bullet almost hit his hands.

"Don't even think about getting anything else out." A new voice said. Sarek knew it wasn't Marrek's, it had no joke in it. But there was a sound Sarek knew, the growling of that dog thing that had attacked him. Sarek could hear it behind him, and he shot around to see when the dog-machine leapt at him. "Not yet, Severus."

"Atleast I finally know it's name..." Sarek growled to himself. He stared into the beaming red eyes of the machine, and growled back at it. Canathael looked over his shoulder to see a black horse with a large man on the back with metal armour on one arm, which meant it was Marrek.

"I don't care if you don't know what wood is made out of, shut your mouth and look at me." Sarek, Canathael and John obeyed whoever it was, and turned around looking at a black haired, pale man in all black clothing and a large, double-barrelled(sp?) gun in his hand. A mad man. Protosis. "You are all dead men! I swear it! Get walking towards the town, were your other friends can have the pleasure of dieing with you!" Protosis hissed. Sarek thought for a moment that Protosis had a personality much worse than his own, or perhaps it was that John had just killed his goal...

Maya slowly reached for the door to the sheriff's office, dawning a character she always hoped she'd never have to play, a whinny, cry-baby girl. Maya took a deep breathe, as she opened the door, and ran inside, pretending to be crying.

"Please sir!" Maya said as she ran up to him and pulled on his arm. "I can't find my brother! I think he's lost!" Maya cried as a fake tear came down her cheek.

"Whoa, now girl," the sheriff said, trying to pry Maya from his arm. "There's no reason to get so upset..."

"But he's all I have," Maya cried, holding on tighter. "I need my brother! Please!"

A groan came from the corner of the room, where the cells where. The sheriff walked over to the cells, Maya still holding tightly to his arm. "Quiet down you," he said as he was about to turn back around.

"Brother!" Maya said like a young girl as she rushed to the cell and tried to get Pieter to come closer. "Pieter, it's me, Maya. I'm getting you outta here," she whispered.

"That man is your brother?" the sheriff asked, confussed. "Hold it...you look like that girl that was with him earlier..." the sheriff said as he started to reach for Maya.

"Sutaru!" Maya yelled as she quickly did a low kick to sweap the sheriff's feat from underneath him, as Sutaru came rushing in the door, and pinned the old man against the wall.

"Grab the keys," Sutaru said as he pinned the man, who was now shaking from being startled, and wondering just who these people where. Maya nodded and reached for the Sheriff's pocket, but he moved slightly away.

"That's it," Maya said as she reached inside her boot, and took out her can of mase. "Take this you old broute." Maya said as he sprayed it in his eyes. During the confussion of the sheriff yelling with pain, and reaching for his eyes, Maya quickly took the keys, and unlocked Pieter's door. "Come on!" Maya said as she tried to grab Pieter's hand and pull him up, only he wasn't willing to move, and through the force of the effort, Maya fell back into the wall. "Ouch!" she said as she slowly stood up, now getting madder that Pieter was being such a baby (in her mind), and couldn't hold his own. Maya quickly walked up to Pieter and yelled in his face. "Get your ass up!" Finally, Pieter's face turned toward the sound, and while he had his eyes open, Maya once again sprayed the can of mase at him.

"Whatcha do that for?" Sutaru asked as he took the keys from Maya, and looked the sheriff in one of the cells.

"Look, he's more awake now," Maya said with a satisfactory smile. "Grab him and let's get the others and get out of here." Maya said as she helped pull Pieter up, and onto Sutaru's shoulders. She then lead the now three party group out of the building.

"Li!" Maya shouted into her communicator while running toward where they had left her. Maya only got static on the other end. "Li!!" Maya tried once more, only to get the static again. Maya looked over to Sutaru, who shook his head, and ran faster, carrying Pieter on his back.

Pieter screamed as the mace burned hsi eyes and face, raising his eyes to claw at his eyes. He began to yell in German, terrified.

"Mein Gott! Die Russen sind Gasen wir! OH-Gott! Jeder, Durchlauf! DURCHLAUF! SCHNELL! ERHALTEN SIE WEG!"

He struggled off of Sutaru's shoulders and dropped heavily to the ground, fumbling inside his vest to pull out the pistol he had concealed there. He fumbled wiht it, flicking off the saftey and pointing it towards Sutaru's blurred form.

"Ich töte Sie, Sie russischer bastard."

Protosis pushed Sarek and Canathael forward with the tip of his gun and hissed at them. Marrek was on a horse slowly following beside them next to John, with a sickening grin on his face.

"I actually thought you'd be a lot nicer, evil goons normally are." Sarek laughed. Protosis jogged in front of Canathael on Sarek, walking backwards still with his gun in his hands.

"I am normally, but I dislike people who murderer my villians. He was about to become one of the most feared people in the three times, but I guess the good guys always have to stop them! You just kill everything evil because they have a different view of happiness!" Protosis shouted back.

"Your views aren't for happiness." Canathael countered.

"Are they not? People who are different believe in different things and if I for one believe that the world would be better the way I want it, then I have every right to make it so!"

"By killing off billions of people?" Sarek cut in. He couldn't believe he was actually saying that, what did Sarek care about people he didn't even know?

"...Since when did you become so caring?" Marrek laughed. Protosis followed with a laugh, and then as he walked backwards he tripped over a rock, letting go of his gun and falling on the ground. Canathael ran towards the gun while Sarek leapt on Protosis.

"Severus!" shouted Protosis while Sarek held him down by his throat and raised his fist. Before Sarek could strike a wet mouth and sharp teeth dug into his fist. While Sarek was fighting with Protosis, Marrek was off his horse and going for an attack on Canathael.

"Damnit!" Sarek shouted. He grabbed Severus by its only fur on its back and kicked it in the back legs. The wolf machine fell back and released his hand, but before Sarek could turn around and hit Protosis, Protosis was off on the run with Severus behind him. Quickly, Sarek turned towards Canathael and John who were all wrestling to get the gun which Canathael had. Marrek was up against two people and it didn't look so good.

"You runts! Give me that!" Marrek hissed. Canathael shook his head while pulling the gun towards him, so Marrek played dirty and kicked Canathael's knee. He fell on the ground and let go of the gun, then Marrek grabbed it and pushed John away. He aimed the big gun at Canathael, but turned to Sarek.

"Coward. Fight like a true warrior!" Sarek shouted. Marrek just laughed.

"I'd rather kill you than Canathael." he said. Canathael looked up at him, about to pounce again but Marrek kicked him down once more. "See ya in the afterlife, Sarek." Marrek laughed once more and fired, but all Sarek did was close his eyes and cover his head with his hands. He felt no pain like before when he was shot in the arm, maybe this was what happened when you died?

"Sarek, John! Hurry up he's getting away!" Canathael shouted. Through the confusion, Sarek slowly opened his eyes and saw Canathael with the gun in his hand and Marrek running behind Protosis. Canathael must have grabbed it and saved Sarek...

"...thanks." Sarek muttered under his breath so Canathael wouldn't hear and walked towards him. He looked over at Marrek running through the dust and sand, then looked up at the horse. John came up behind suddenly, and Sarek smirked under his mask again.

Canathael watched as Protosis and Marrek dissapeared over a distant hill, chances were they wouldn't see the two in this time again, all for the better it seemed. The sorcerer gingerly touched his face where soft raised welts were beginning to form, all thanks to the beating he had received from the man named Marrek, a man who looked all too familiar somehow...

"Hey..." Canathael heard Sarek's short, irritable call, most likely dirrected towards him, "What should we do with this thing?"

Canathael turned to the warrior, now seeing that he was regarding the quarter horse that regarded the group uneasily from a short distance away. He sighed, donning a small smile, it still seemed that fate was on their side.

"I beleive we could use this fellow to get back to the town, and-"

"You look like shit..." Sarek interupted Canathael giving his face the once over. Canathael shrugged off the comment,

"You always enlighten me with such kind words Sir Sarek..." He replied, now realizing that such comments were just Sarek's odd way of communicating.

"Yeah, we could use a horse." John mummbled, removing some of the bandages that were on his leg and using them to patch up his hand, Then looked over the blood that was begining to seep through his leg wound, the one Sarek gave him "I don't think I can walk much longer."

Canathael nodded with a small smile, slowly approaching the still animal, which was looking around for its lost rider, yet still carefully watching the three strangers. Canathael had not had the opertunity to ride many horses, since his status was not high enough to grant him that priveledge. Yet he had known enough in his years to get this far.

He slowly clicked his tongue, drawing the horse's attention, then slowly extending a hand towards the creature's nose.

"That things going to tear your arm off." Sarek stated flatly in an I-told-you-so tone, arms crossed boredly.

"It wont." Canathael answered, then,

"You don't know much about horses do ya?" from John.

"Where I come from, beasts these size would eat all three of us for a good meal." Sarek answered lowly, watching the sorcerer near the creature he now knew as a horse.

The quarter horse edged closer, extending his head to sniff Canathael's hand, then a bit furthur, allowing to be touched. Soon the brunette was happily rubbing down the calm animal, then leading it over to his two comrades. He looked apologeticaly to both,

"Only two can ride, he seems a bit tired for all three..."

"I don't care," Sarek answered, turning in the dirrection he thought the town would be, "I don't trust the thing..."

"Will you be able to keep up?" John asked, as he received a bit of assitance mounting the horse.

"Will that thing keep up with me?" He replied smuggly, nodding to the horse.

"Canathael!" A panicked voice cried through the stillness, Canathael reached for his communicator, reasoning that it probably turned on while he was fighting.

"Yes," He spoke into the device, "What is it?"

"We can't find Li! I think something bad happened to her"

"We'll be in town shortly" Canathael answered, turning off the device and mounting the hose swiftly, leading all three back into town.

"Where could she be?" Maya asked queitly to herself, as she sat on the fence post of the house where the gang had first met their wanted outlaw, who was now dead as a doornob. Sutaru was standing next to her, arms crossed in a most upset fashion.

"I can't believe he tried to shoot me," Sutaru said as he looked down at Pieter who was now laying semi-uncounsious on the dirt path next to Maya's feet.

"You didn't have to punch him that hard though," Maya said as she slightly kicked Pieter with her toe, nudging him a tad bit. "Now I can't tell if he's really about to faint, or if he's just still drunk." Pieter moaned again, but didn't really make any movements. "I still wish we knew where Li was," Maya began. "But we can't really go look for her until the boys come back, it'd be pointless to leave now, when Canathael said he'd be here shortly." Sutaru nodded slightly as he looked over his shoulder to a dust cloud that seemed to be raising.

"I think there's something, or someone coming," Sutaru said as he tried to make out the figures through the cloud of dust.

"Canathael!!" Maya said as she ran to meet them, a huge smile on her face.

Sarek's breaths got heavier and heavier as he struggled too keep up with Canathael. Though he didn't show any signs of giving up, he was ideed weakening. The "horse" creature was ideed much faster than Sarek, but he was doing a good job keeping up, just a little far behind.

The shout of Canathael's name caught Sarek's attention, coming from the town just ahead. It was Maya, a girl's voice and since Li was missing it had to be her. No one else in the town knew Canathael's name.

"Canathael! There's Maya!" Sarek shouted over the galloping sound of the horse. Canathael looked at him and grinned.

"I know, still think you can keep up?" he replied happily. Sarek titled his head to the side, unsure what he meant. Either Canathael knew Sarek was worn out or he meant something else. But Sarek found out. In a great leap and a giant flick of sand and dust, the horse sped up, past Sarek causing sand to cover his already dusted coat. Sarek slowed down for a moment, but when he saw John look back at him, he sped up again.

"Canathael! Stop, slow down!" Sarek shouted. Obviously, Canathael couldn't hear him. Sarek began to slow down again, but he kept running at a decent speed. He could just see the blurred figure of Canathael and John stopping in front of what looked like Sutaru and Maya, but of course... Sarek couldn't know for sure since he didn't have the sight of any normal human. He slowed into a jog when coming to the group, then panted into a stop in front of Maya.

"Sorry, Sir Sarek, but I had to hurry..." Canathael said.

"What...? That was... only how fast that thing... could go?" Sarek panted. Sutaru looked down at him, and Sarek just growled. "I'm not tried... I have a mask on and a piece of rag over that, think I wouldn't be breathing heavily?" he growled. Clearly, no one was convinced, and neither was Sarek himself. Why exactly was he lieing? He had no idea.

"Li, she's missing! We have to find her!" Maya said.

"Were'd she go?" John asked. Maya gave it some thought for a moment, then shook her head. She didn't know.

"I went South, you and Sutaru went North back to the town, and Maya went West, to were we came from... At least I think. I can't remember why bu-" Canathael suddenly cut Sarek off.

"Wait! Correct me if I'm wrong but... was that were Marrek and Protosis went?" he asked.

"They headed for the town, but I guess we lost track. If Maya and Sutaru didn't see them, then I guess they must have gone that way... fuck..." Sarek concluded. He sighed for a moment, then noticed Pieter on the floor, groaning and saying strange words. "Let's get him and head West before anything happens to her." Sarek said. He looked at Canathael and Maya who both gave a nod.

Vicky has so lovingly given me the duty of moving the Sands crew into the next Age. If anyone's confused, then it's best to go to the Underground thread. And if any of this isn't to your liking Vicy, I'll change it post haste! Ta!

Canathael bent over the drunken, nearly conscious and weary soldier, lightly taping him on the face to see if he'd rouse from his stupor.

"Peiter..." he called, watching the soldier's eyes lull back and forth in his head.

"Cael..." He responded in a thick lazy German accent, using the sorcerer's shorter name, "It ist not a güt day, ja?"

"No...It isn't friend." He responded wearily.

Canathael frowned as he lifted the man easily in his arms. The had all been going at it for what seemed weeks, all of them mentaly and physicaly exhausted. He hoped silently that tensions would not start running high.

The sorcerer lifted Peiter up to the horse which still bore John on its back, and placed the soldier sideways onto the saddle, his head hanging over one side and his legs swinging loosely over the other.

Soon the small group was heading West at a brisk walk, Canathael leading the horse behind the others ahead. After a short while a small shreik startled everyone from their lazy reveries, Maya had let loose a surprised scream as she pointed ahead of them in their path.

"I saw Li! She was with Them!" She cried, turning on the group, looking slightly frenzied.

Ahead of them a portal rippled brightly in the brilliant midday sun, freshly used and by the looks of it, not closing anytime soon. A whir of fabric and motion almost caught the rest off guard as Maya moved to sprint,

"We gotta help her!" She shouted dashing forward, "she could be-"

But she was cut off when a strong firm hand clamped over her upper arm painfully. Sarek glared down at her dangerously,

"Don't be foolish, you didn't see anything." He said cooly, releasing his death grip once he knew the girl wouldn't go anywhere. Maya turned on him viciously, fists clenched at her sides,

"I did see her! And she was with that Marek jerk!!!" She hissed angrily.

Canathael moved foward to break up the spat, and possibly try to make sense of this situation. But before he could say anything his communicator went off again,

"She is right you know." Dave's voice crackled out into the dry dusty air through the communicator, he had somehow been listening to the conversation, "She's been taken to another time, using that portal right in front of you."

"Well where did they go?" Maya asked.

"hold on a sec. Hey, Canathael!" he called.

"Y-yes?" The sorcerer looked at the comunicator quite perplexed.

"Put the comm unit on the ground, there isn't time to bring you all back to the ship, I'll just have to breif you here."

Canathael obeyed, setting the device on the ground, starting a bit when a holographic image of Dave appeared in the air.

"Right..." Dave said, pushing up his glasses onto his nose, "now you'll all be going to the year 2010 after Protosis, that era's really close to Maya's. So if you don't mind, I'm sure she'll explain culture and such on the way."

Dave's gaze flicked down for a moment as a small map of their next destination appeared next to his head.

"This is Victory City, a cesspool of crime, rated number one on the murder toll in the united states, hmm, probably the world too..."

"Why there?" Sutaru asked warily.

"Easy place to hide, perhaps Protosis thinks that it'll slow you guys down, but I don't think it should... A small sarcastic smile flickered over the man's face.

"Gee Dave, thanks for being supportive." Maya groaned, resting on her haunches.

"Yeah, yeah, there's also- Hey! Don't touch that!!! He shouted looking off to his left irritably. Someone on the ship answered back grumpily,

"I don't need yer sass, yeh poor excuse fer a Captain!" An rough english female voice snapped back, wafting through the communicator.

"Who's that?" Canathael asked, also squating down to the communicator.

"Your new team mate, Morgon, she's from the Victorian Age, and a pirate no less..." He responded weakly, obviously already having enough of the woman who it seemed was messing with his ship, "She kinda reminds me of Sarek, never keeps her hands to- What did I just say?! Stop messing with that!

The group let out a small collective chuckle, for some reason they liked to see Dave distressed, Sarek seemingly enjoying this more than any of them.

"Let's see what kind of crew you assembled eh?" Morgon's voice came through again, while Dave's image was pushed roughly from veiw, replaced by a hazle-eyed brown haired woman, grinning ear to ear at her new companions. "'Ello! Name's Morgon Night, former Captain of the Velvet Glove."

The group offered few weak smiles and even a few tiresome frowns, Morgon's expression dropped a bit as she looked them all over, "Not a happy lot yeh have there David..." She mused aloud, then smiled again, "t'was a pleasure anyway, we'll meet again."

She gave her goodbye, now seeming quite bored as she wandered away from the screen, leaving space for Dave to resume his position. He muttered something that sounded a lot like "damn pirate" before he continued with his breifing.

"I'm only getting Four Comm readings here, there's supposed to be five..."

"Mine was shot." Sarek stated bluntly, the expression on his face showing no signs of appology or regret at all. Dave sighed frustratedly, not even wanting to waste the breath to ream the warrior out.

"Alright, you'll get a new one when you go through the portal, that goes for clothes and weapons too, you'll all be set up when you go through.... He rubbed his temples for a moment then looked up again, "that's about it, Dave out."

And with that he was gone.

"I'm afraid...." John began from the horse, having been very still and quiet through the whole transmition, "...that this is where we part."

Canathael smiled up at him as he pulled Peiter off the horse, holding him upright, "you have been a most helpfull part to our journey Johnathan, thank you and Farewell." He nodded, then walked with the soldier towards the portal. The others gave their breif thanks as well before following suit.

Soon, they were all gone. John was left alone on the horse in the middle of the western plains. He looked up to the sky and sheilded his eyes against the harsh sun with his hand. And then the young man smiled.

"This has been a pretty interesting day..."

-=End Age=-

2010 Victory City

Canathael blinked against his new surroundings, and breathed in the thick foul smelling air of this new Age. A moist brick wall pressed against his back, and another stood not three feet from him.

An Alley.

Rain drizzled from the cold grey sky above, lining everything in a cold uncaring layer of water, including the sorcerer.

Canathael ran a hand through his wet hair, then looked down at his attire. He wore a white cotton tshirt, snug blue jeans, thick black boots and a black leather jacket that was zipped halfway up his torso. he discovered that inside his jacket he carried a gun, not very much like the pistol that he had in the west, or the one that peiter carried. This gun was a rather small boxy shaped weapon, simple and he guessed very effective.

Sliding the gun away, Canathael began to look around for the others, spotting Maya's back facing him, her head peering out into the street ahead.

whew, huge post, I hope that was alright.

OCC::Ok, So we aren't together right?
~*~
-Canathael turned around when he saw Maya and behind her was Sutaru quickly running down the street. Sutaru wasn't looking for anything and didn't know if he was supposed to but he was looking for a place to stay. He was topless in the rain so he was bound to catch a cold. The side walk was broken up and the houses were broken up and filled with graffiti. Sutaru stopped running and started to brush him self off as he heard a gun shot. He ran into a valley because he thought it was safer there.

"Pit Pat Pit Pat Pit" Was the sound Sutaru heard as he was wiping the water off of him and he was getting alittle suspicous. He then saw a rock roll out from the corner of a house and then a group of men in orange baggy clothes and guns.

Sutaru disappeared because he was so fast they couldn't see him and then he appeared right behind them and he grabbed one of them by the neck.

"What do you want..." Sutaru said calmly and curiously

"Give us all ya goods" They said pointing a gun at Sutaru

"Like I have any" Sutaru mumbled

Sutaru was drenched in the rain as they pulled the trigger putting bullets through their own gang member and Sutaru made a run for it. He tried to trace his own tracks so he could find a team member like Canathael or Maya. Sutaru then started to move fast so no one would see him since he wanted no more trouble. Sutaru had blood all over his chest, stomach, and face as he didn't even bother to wipe it off...
