Heavy grey clouds hung over Morgon's head as she came through the portal. She threw her arms opened to look at her new outfit. Strange blue colored pants clung to her legs much like her old trousers and flared at the bottom. A pair of black boots with no heels that went no further than her ankles were on her feet. Her shirt was a gentle pastle color and hung loosely around her body and a long leather coat laid over top of it. Morgon took a deep breath and felt something firm against her rip cage. She pulled back her coat and found two black guns in holesters wrapped around her shoulders laying firmly against her sides.

"I hope I be a good shot with these blasted things. They seem tad bit different then what I be use to." Morgon spoke aloud.

Morgon looked about. The sky was an ugly grey, nothing like the skies on the open ocean. Around her were mile high buildings that seem to be suffocating her. She shook her head at the massive structures. Why did any one want to live here like this? You couldn't breath in the fresh air or see the beautiful sky or sea. What was the point in making such structures and shelter you from everything except the ugliness?

Morgon swung her head around when she heard voices behind her. There was two men talking to themselves. She remembered seeing them when that David had contacted them when she was still on the ship. What a ship it was! So many new technology on there, she couldn't wait to learn more about everything on it!

"Ohoy there, I be Morgon? And ye be?" Morgon threw an arm up as she walked towards them. A jesture she had used many times on her ship to greet new comers. (I wonder if these lads will take to thee. Ah, what's the use worrin' about it?) Morgon said to herself as she approached them. Boy that one guy was big, make a nice mate on the Velvet Glove.

Morgon's face suddenly sunk. The sight of her burning ship raced through her mind. She clenched her fist for a moment feeling the loss of all that she had then suddenly remembered that there were strangers in front of her. She quickly shoved her hands into her pockets and smiled brightly.

OOC: Good job, Angelus! I thought that since we could get the RPG moving faster, everyone could have a turn at posting a new start to the age.

Chapter Three
In a move of despressation, Protosis and Marrek kidnapped Li and pulled her through a portal into the year 2010, the most violent year in history. Planning to lose the crew in the mixed-up timeline, both Protosis and Marrek ran their own way causing the crew to split once more. With a new member on the team, things look good once again for the Sands crew, but when both parts of the crew are dragged into a gang war, they have no choice but to work with their enemy and fight their own friends, or risk death if they are exposed.

The street was empty and cold, with damp roads and rubbish on the streets. Sarek stood on the pavement in disgust. The air was horrible, even through his mask he could smell the gas and see the clouds in the air. God, was he thankful he didn't live in this age. Quickly he glanced down at himself, noticing he wore another black shirt under that, much different design though. It was thick with a long neck collor, but he also noticed he still had his black coat on. At least he had that. After looking at his clothes, he began a slow walk down the street, looking for the others.

"Sarek...?" a vice groaned. Sarek turned around to see Pieter leading against a large house, rubbing his eyes. Hearing his voice, Sarek jogged over to Pieter. Pieter looked at Sarek and groaned. "What happened?"

"You got arrested, apprantly. I don't know what happened after that. It also appears we got seperated." Sarek said. He looked down at Pieter's clothing, noticing some mud and water on his pants and lower part of his shirt. Obviously, he didn't arrive standing up...

"Ohoy there, I be Morgon? And ye be?" a voice shouted. Both Sarek and Pieter turned around, Sarek noticing from her voice it had to be Morgon, the women Dave had trouble with. Sarek and Pieter looked at each other, and jogged towards her getting their pants wet from the water. They stopped in front of her, and Pieter made a greeting.

"I'm Pieter, this is Sarek." he said. He extended his hand, and Morgon shook it with a smile across her face. She turned to face Sarek, who did nothing but give a slight nod. To Sarek, she looked like a warrior. Without waiting for the Morgon or Pieter to speak again, he began to walk down the street at a slow pace, looking out for anyone or anything. Pieter and Morgon followed behind, Morgon and Pieter talking while Sarek kept a look out. Suddenly, around the cold stone building, someone looked around it. Sarek, Pieter and Morgon all stopped dead in their tracks.

"Did you see who it was?" Pieter asked in a hushed voice. Sarek nodded his head, and waited. They all heard footsteps, light ones. But Sarek knew that sometimes to never trust what you hear. As the footsteps grew closer, he saw something come near the wall, and as fast as lightning he swung his sword out towards them. His sword stopped inches infront of Li's fingers, as she stood there staring at Sarek. He was amazed she knew that the sword wouldn't slice through her fingers, but he was glad to see her.

"Sarek! Pieter!" she said as every came round to see her. Li glanced at Morgon, and gave a nod, but nothing else. "Quick! We must go! Protosis is waiting!" she said grabbing Sarek's arm. Sarek pulled back.

"What? Protosis?" he asked. She gave a nod.

"He will explain. Oh, I'm sorry, I don't bel-"

"She's Morgon, now what the hell's going on?" Sarek interrupted in a snap. All heads turned to the sound of footsteps, heavier, louder... Protosis... Sarek knew it. He came up, looking deadly serious behind Li with a small gun in his hand from the last century. Li didn't move, nor did anyone else.

"Allow me to explain," Protosis began. "In this time, there are two well known 'gangs' of sorts. The Federation and the Barrier Crew. Both fight each other for control of most areas, a childish war... if you ask me. Anyway, the Barrier Crew is located mostly near the rivers and coasts, while the Federation is in alleys and sometimes underground. The Federation has different sorts of people in their group but they kill whoever they don't find trusting if they're different, all of us... for one. The Barrier Crew kill people who are different mostly, so we have to be careful with them. I'm suggesting we all join the Federation, and hopefully Marrek will join too... but I know about these groups and if we are exposed to what we are and were we're from, then I'm afraid we will all die." Protosis shoot a look at Sarek and Morgon. "I know who you are, as well, Morgon, don't introduce yourself. We can all talk later but we must hurry."

"Why the fuck should I work with you?" Sarek snapped. Morgon looked from Protosis to Sarek, if not confused.

"Because I can keep you alive, Mr. Luther. They would surely call you a freak and put a bullet through your head, and only I can stop that. That is the only reason you should work with me. I hate to do this myself, but I would not be so idiotic as to lie to four of you who could kill me in one. Besides, your trustworthy Li is on my side." Protosis said.

"I may be new around 'ere, but I sure know it ain't wise to trust the enemy!" Morgon said putting her hands on her hips and glaring at Protosis. He did nothing but look back at her through his black hair, then spoke again.

"Trust me this time or you will surely die. After this I promise no alliance to you." he said. Li came up to Sarek and Pieter, looking at them both.

"Trust him, he's being honest!" she said. Sarek gave it heavy thought... why would he trust Protosis? He could hold his own in a place like this! And it was always danger when your enemy knew about a new team mate only you had just meet... but then again, Li would never betray them...

"...Fine..." he finally muttered. Protosis gave a nod.

Maya clincted tightly to her bare arms, slightly shivering as she surveyed the area. They where in an alley surrounded by tall buildings, the street was a little ways away, cars slowly moving by in the rain. To the right ran another alley, that was seemingly interconnected with the one she was standing in. Maya had no idea where she was exactly, but she knew, she was home. Or as close to home as should would probably get. Maya's low-raise blue jeans where soaking wet from where the flare started in the fabric, to her boots. Her black short shirt, with hardly any sleeves on it, left a little bit of her stomach exposed. Maya didn't have to check her clothes, she knew what she was going to be wearing, this was practically her time after all. She had often worn clothes like this when she went out on the town with Katie, though her clothes wheren't so revealing. Maya rubbed the side of her leg with her foot, making sure that both her knives, and can of mase where still inside them. Maya could also feel the coldness of steal that was pressed against her back, a small gun hiding in her belt line, on her back, the shirt barely covering it from view. Maya looked down the street, as the rain began to fall harder.

"Rain....I hate the rain," Maya said to herself as she shivered again, not only from being cold, but from starting to get scared as well. The scene of her brother being washed away appeared. "Miguel," Maya whispered quietly. "No, I can't think of the past." Maya shook her head, and tried to erase the vision.

"Lady Maya, are you alright?" Maya turned around to see Canathael, standing behind her, looking slightly worried.

"Canathael," Maya said as she looked up to him, rain falling off his hair. "Please, Canathael, promise you won't leave me again! This time....is dangerous." Maya said as she looked down. "People get killed every minute on the streets. You have to be fast and keep low. They show no mercy. I don't....I don't want to lose you too."

There was a silence as the rain contiuned to fall around them. Canathael had just started to speak, when Maya spun around and reached for her gun, there was someone coming down the alley way...someone...or something....

OOC||If I have done something wrong with Maya or Canathael please pm me and I will fix it.
~*~
Sutaru was coming towards Maya as she reached for her gun and shot. Sutaru didn't even bother to dodge because he was so tired so he got shot straight at his left and right on the muscle. There was a loud crack and Sutaru let out a scream of pain as he dropped to the ground. He was on his knees staring at the pavement grabbing his muscle tightly trying to take his mind off of the pain. The blood was slowly dripping and flowing down his arm and onto his hands and mixing with the heavy rain as he stared at the pavement with anger. Maya and Canathael were staring at Sutaru in fright as he was on his knees not knowing what he would do.

Sutaru slowly raised his left arm and slammed it onto the ground making blood fly into the air along with a loud crack breaking some of the pavement.

"W-whats wrong with you" Sutaru splurted out in a slight rage

"This city is filled with violence so we had to be on alert" Canathael said trying to get Maya out of trouble

"I'm sorry...." she said calmly

Sutaru slowly stood up and ripped off a peice of his pants making the right side of his pants shorts. His peice of pants quickly got full of blood and started to drip down his arm still. Sutaru slowly walked away not trying to start any trouble not knowing what he would do with a wounded arm. He then turned around and just decided he was going to take a look around this dangerous city.

"I'm going to try and get to know this city better" Sutaru said in an angry voice

"......." was the silence that Canathael and Maya were doing as they watched him walk away. He was drenched in the rain as his clothes were dripping wet and he was bound to catch a cold. That was the risk he has for wearing no shirt and just boots and pants. Sutaru felt like he was being followed as he walked down the street, hearing the loading of a gun behind him. Sutaru then started to run quickly down the street not looking to harm anyone and not wanting to get hurt....

I think everyone posted once, right?

Canathael winced as he heard a gun clatter to the hard ground. He frowned down into the worried eyes of his companion, as she hugged her arms and croutched down to the ground. Maya let out a small shuddered sob from her currled pose.

"I- I didn't mean to do it..." She groaned to her knees, pressing her forhead into them, "I mean, he just snuck up on us and, and...."

Canathael removed his jacket slowly, kneeling before the distressed girl. He really did feel bad for her, there was just something about this time that made her uneasy, and she was unusualy worried about him this time. He wondered if it had something to do with her past, but judged against it...all she needed now was to be made as comfortable as possible...

"It's alright my Lady..." He said soothingly, draping his jacket over the girl's shoulders, hoping to keep her the least bit warm, "Sir Sutaru may be angry now, but his anger will subside in time."

Maya looked up at the sorcerer, reaching up a hand to swipe away tears that had not yet fallen, "you think so Canathael?"

He smiled a genuinely happy smile, cupping her face in his hands and running a thumb over one cheek, "Of course I do, we will all remain allies, no matter what evil hands us."

"My, my, such a touching moment to come upon..." A bored voice drawled near the opposite end of the alleyway. The two jerked at its familiarity and drew their gazes to the source.

Marek leaned against a wall, smiling as a hungry jackal would while he looked over the two time travelers. He wore attire that was nearly similar to Canathael's, although all of his clothing was of a darker hue. Oddly enough they looked quite similar, perhaps as brothers would.

Canathael glared up the alleyway at the man, finally placing where he had seen his face before. This was the same man that had fooled him in his unconscious dreams, replaying painfull thoughts of his Elsia. He wasn't sure if it was Marrek's doing in his mind, but he wouldn't put it past the evil fighter.

"You!" Maya hissed scrambling to her feet, still clutching Canathael's jacket close to her, "What did you do with Li?!"

"She is with Protosis, and I'll take you to her if you agree to..." His eyes narrowed and his smile grew even more wicked, "...coperate"

"Are you insane?!" Maya snarled at him, "We're not-"

"We'll go with you..." Canathael said plainly, coldly, and emotionlessly.

"There's a good lad," Marrek smiled, sauntering towards the brunette, "You I have a feeling you and I shall be the best of friends untill then..."

Marrek placed a hand on Canathael's shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze, something brewing in his eyes that seemed sinister, yet almost passionate. Maya grimaced, not liking where this was going.

"Cael..." She called gently, tugging on his shirt, "We can't..."

"We have to My Lady..." He answered, then looked back to Marrek, "Sir Marrek, if you would be so kind as to lead us."

The wicked man nodded, then stooped out of the alleyway at a brisk walk, the words, "Try to keep up" floating along behind him. Canathael grasped Maya's hand reasuringly, and led her out after Marrek.

Pieter walked slowly behind Sarek as they followed Li and Protosis. His eyes were constantly watching the windows and alleys, almost as if he expected an attack to come from anywhere. He cradled his beloved rifle close to him, although he was now dressed in the clothes of the time, he had refused to leave his rifle this time. He would not be kept from his best weapon this time around. As they passed an alley, Pieter caught sight of a sinsiter looking man, watching them walk by, obviously marking them as outsiders. Pieter shivered, clutching his rifle tighter.

The group followed Protosis and Li, looking at people staring at them as they walked. It was certainly uncomfortable for them...

"We're we goin'?" Morgon asked from beside Sarek. Protosis didn't turn his head, however he did answer.

"Underground." Protosis replied dully. He shoved his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small, hand sized device with a button or two on it, and stared at it. Sarek could tell it had to be a map of some sort from the infer-red light flashing on it.

"What's that?" Pieter asked from behind.

"Locator. It should tell me were Marrek is, but it must be damaged. I also lost Severus while jumping." Protosis explained. Sarek growled at the name Severus. The hound from hell, half machine half wolf and all demon. Hell, the amount of times it tried to bite off Sarek's limbs made him burn with rage. "This can find the lifesigns of anyone I want, I just need their DNA. It can even work through dimension, the signal is sent on a time wormhole so I can locate anyone at anytime in any place. The channel must have been destrupted when I came here, possibly because of the rush to jump and I didn't set this thing right."

"...Can ye explain that in..." Morgon began, but Li finished.

"...Terms we would understand?" she asked. Protosis howled a laugh, and shook his head almost as if he was going to cry from laughter.

"That was the best way I could. You see, in human terms I'm a genius. I know more about time than your God could. Your ship is located in the cracks of time, the only place outside of it, and boy it's easy to find. I've been using my advanced sensors for months to track that thing, even before you came there! I know about all of you, I've scanned all the information files of the ship, too. You should tell Dave to enhance the shielding on the files and some shielding to stop 'enemies' from probing into your files!" Protosis laughed again, hanging his head back like a wolf. The others, however, weren't very amused.

"...Idiot..." Sarek growled folding his arms.

"Primitive ape." Protosis agrued.

"Tarké* slimball." Sarek growled back at him. Suddenly, Protosis swung round and pointed in Sarek's face, looking very annoyed.

"At least I have the brains to fool your pathetic human race! I am a Tarké, but you know I was smart enough to alter myself to your primitive biological forms! That was a horrible experiance... urg... And now, I'm suck this way! Anyway, my point is that any human would have charged in with spears and defective weapons without even thinging that we might not mean any harm!" he shouted.

"Ja, no harm? Trying to destroy time?" Pieter laughed.

"Look, you stupid toy soldier... Tarké and Southan both believe in the Apocalypse OUR WAY. Scarface was the only man who could bring that to life, and how we got the other two races of our solar system involved is beyond me. We have mastered the theories and time, which enabled me to create a portal time travel device, which being human you wouldn't be able to create even if your life depended on it. If we can bring time together as one, then that would be what we want. You can't just believe I'm evil because I want to make the Apocalypse rise, that's my faith. A perfect world of time joined together, sure Tarké may seem like sick beings now but I assure you it's the way we are." Protosis was explaining things clearly to most of them, but still Sarek was no convinced.

"...Liar..." he snapped at Protosis.

"See! Look what I mean, you primitive beings call me a liar, STILL thinking I'm evil! You assume I'm evil anyway, but let me put it this way. Our Solar System, the nearest to yours was once ruled by one planet millions of years ago. A race was called the Apocalypse, translated in your useless langauge of course. They ruled us and trained all our planets into equal races, technologically advanced as each other. The Apocalypse had mastered time itself, timetravel. When they left their planet as it was about to be smashed to pieces by a comet the size of your sun. After that we had become a race who lived differently from you all, primitive fools... thousands of years later, Scarface discovered the Apocalypse remains and the writings about time. He then believed in a theory of making past, present and future come together by altering time with a certain device and in certain ways would make a world that could be ruled by one being and possibly give ultimate power to a few other ones. Scarface called this his Apocalypse theory, and that's the story." Protosis explained, ending with a sigh. Everyone looked at each other, but no one said anything. It was silent for awhile, until Sarek spoke.

"...I still don't trust you."

"Put it this way Sarek, it's like you. The only reason you're what you are, cold and ruthless is because of they your world was. For us, or solar system was like what we are because of the one our ancestors were taught to survive." Protosis explained, calming his voice down to an almost whisper. "I cannot help what I am. And I do wish I could be the 8 foot Tarké I used to be, but I can't." Sarek stopped for a moment while the group walked on, looking at the ground as Pieter pasted him. He didn't care if anyone was watching him, but Protosis was right for once. Maybe they shouldn't be stopping him... it was the way of one race against four, surely the needs of the many outwieghed the needs of the few?

--
OOC: * Tarké and Southan are the races involved in the War between Earth and the four races, with Scarface in it. Though I've kinda explained about why Protosis is doing this, there's no need to stop being ruthless to the poor mad bugger, lol. Also, there's a little about the Tarké appearance (since no one knows what they look like since all information about the war was concealed mostly), the Tarké are very tall ^__^

Maya held on to Canathael's hand tightly, as she held his jacket close to her with her other hand, slightly jogging to keep up with his, and Marek's quick pase. The rain was still contiuning to fall as heavily as it was earlier, as Maya looked up into the clouds. It was hard to tell the difference between the smog and the actuall rain clouds, Maya figured she'd probably be the only one of the crew who could. Another shiver ran down Maya's body as the group stopped to pick an alley to follow.

"Are you still cold, my Lady?" Canathael asked as he looked down at her, with a rain-soaked brow.

"It's not the coldness that bothers me," Maya said quietly. "But what about you? Aren't you cold? Do you want your jacket back?" Maya said as she reached to take it off.

"Do not worry, I'm fine as long as your fine." Canathael said with a smile, as they followed Marek down another alley.

"I dont' trust him," Maya said quietly to Canathael, as the group turned and took another alley in a different direction. "What if he's leading us to some sort of trap?"

"I'm sure he wouldn't, at least, not right now. I believe he will take us to where Lady Li has gone." Canathael said almost tonelessly. "We will just have to follow him for the time being, until we can find everyone else." Maya nodded quietly, as she heard voices up ahead.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A man voice said.

"Looks like a trio of tresspassers!" Came another voice. Maya looked up, and saw three armed men, blocking the path between them and the next alley way. The first of the speakers was a short, almost tubbly man, batting a club in his hand. Next to him, was a tall man, holding a gun cocked at teh side of his head. The third, and the second speaker, was standing with his arms crossed. All had smirks on their faces. Maya reached back for her gun, only to realize that she no longer had it with her, remembering she had dropped in the the alleyway.

"Oh look boys! They've even got a cute chick with them! I bet we could have some fun!" The taller of the three men said. Maya sqeezed Canathael's hand, as he side-stepped to take a stance in front of her.

Canathael narrowed his gaze at the three men who slowly began their approach on the small party of time travelers. Canathael threw an arm out to his side, to better conceal Maya who nestled her forhead between his shoulder blades securely.

"Leave us be..." The sorcerer said flatly, glaring through heavy eyelids, "We don't want to harm you."

Marrek didn't say much of anything, he stood still off to the side, not looking particularly worried about the situation. Moreso bored if anything.

The taller of the three snorted a sick bout of laughter while unclicking the safety on his gun and taking a lazy aim at the group, "You're pretty funny mister, tell you what, I'll let you two gents go if you leave the girl."

"yeah sweetie," the club toting man grinned, "Give the pretty boys a rest and hang out with some real guys!"

Canathael growled in response, suddenly feeling cornered. He knew that he was outnumbered with or without Marrek's help, and even hoping for the enemy's hand in battle was a little too much to ask for...And still the men neared, creeping towards what they deemed theirs.

"they're wrong..."

He thought watching all the men closely,

"She doesn't belong to them"

The familiar feeling began to knot in his stomach, the feeling of death, the want that he had been denied last he felt it. The sickly, yet empowered feeling that he so craved at this moment.

"She doesn't...."

He donned that wicked grin again, advancing on the men slowly, ignoring the threats if he didn't remain still,

"Don't take another fucking step man! I'll blow you away!"

The short man raced forward, club in hand swinging wildly. Canathael thrust his leg out, tripping up the shorter man and wrenching the club free from his grip in the process, then beating him in the skull after he had hit the pavement below.

"...Belong to them."

The second weaponless man dashed at the brunette, arms raised in attack. Frankly, he was too easy to take down, Canathael dodged the first blow, let the second graze his shoulder, then dealt a heavy blow to the man's temple; droplets of blood smattering the sorcerer's face.

"She belongs..."

Stepping over the other two obstacles, Canathael advanced on the last man, the one who still threateningly held the gun, yet his knees shook with fear. The brunette smiled again, ever drawing closer,

"Get away you freak! I'll fucking shoot you!" The tall man screamed, shakilly holding the gun at Canathael's face. He grinned snatching the weapon away and tossing it down the alley, still advancing on the now retreating man. A man who threatened to taker her away, like a time before...

Canathael grasped the man's lower Jaw and held him up to the Alley wall, his eyes were filled with fear.

"leave..." He hissed, darkly.

"Wh-what?" the man sputtered weakly, blood seeping out of his mouth.

"Leave this place, and don't come back", he growled, squeezing the man's jaw tighter. A strangled cry came out, along with more blood.

"...to me."

He dropped the man, then watched him scurry away down the alley, hand clamped over his bleeding mouth. Marrek gave a small applause behind his back, donning an almost equally wicked grin,

"Quite the show sorcerer, perhaps you're fighting for the wrong side?" He mocked, a slight chuckle spilling from his lips.

"Shut up..." Maya snapped, reaching out to Canathael, lightly touching his shoulder, "Canathael, are you al-"

"I'm fine My lady." He mumbled, hiding his gaze from her, "Sir Marrek, if you would please..."

Without a few more words, the three set off again, in and out of the dank alleyways.

After realizing that Sarek was not following Pieter and Protosis, Morgon turned gracefully around to see him sulking behind them. Rain dripped from various spots of his body, it all looked so depressing.

"Hey, ye there! What be ye problem?" Morgon called out to Sarek as the other two kept walking. He didn't even move. "I be talkin' to ye!" Morgon said a little more firmly.

"Just let him be." Protosis yelled from behind her.

She shook her head and approached the massive man. She bent towards the drenched stone earth and tilt her head up to look into Sarek's face. "I don't like bein' ignored there Sarek." Her voice seemed to hold a strange gentleness to it. "Don't let that barnicle get ye. Life was ment to happen this way, ye know. Don't be worrin' about if he be right. Do ye see them other races here with him, tryin' to change things do ye? Na, so don't be worrin'. But I think we might be wantin' to find the others though and keepin' safe. I would rather not leave ye behind."

Morgon was waiting for Sarek to try and either hit her, or just walk away from her. She had read up on all the crew memembers and he seemed to be the one mostly likely to have a problem with her. Even though David had proven to be much more frustrating then she had orignaly thought. He was such a horrible captain, she could do far better.

He hadn't heard them kind of words before, he had heard something like that from Canathael but not as much aimed directly at Sarek. Maybe because Sarek wasn't as nice, but what Morgan and Protosis was saying was right.

"Maybe..." Sarek began, but he stopped for a moment, then shook his head. He opened his mouth to speak again, but closed it again and shook his head, walking past Morgon. She followed behind him not sure if she should say anything else or just leave him alone like Protosis had suggested awhile back. Sarek thought about it again for a moment, still looking at his feet and the concreate ground. Both Morgon and Protosis had a point...

"Look alive. Bunch of goons up ahead." Protosis broke Sarek's trail of thought by shouting to them all about a few shady characters up ahead, all sulking against a building and some hidden in the shadows of the alley. They all shot daggers at the group and amusing looks. Sarek looked away, towards Pieter who was clenching his gun tightly looking like he was ready to put a bullet through their heads. Li had her hand on the handle of her sword, Morgon also hand her hand on the tip of her sword while Protosis didn't even have his gun out. He wasn't even looking ready to defend himself...

The group stopped dead as the bunch of youths began to approach them with thier hoods up and their guns, metal bars and other weapons out.

"Hey, this is our street. No freaks allowed." A man is a grey hooded top said to Protosis. Protosis didn't even move, he just laughed lightly and pushed past. But the hooded man grabbed his coat and pushed him back. "I don't like being ignored." The man growled. He pushed Protosis into Li, who unleashed her sword and pointed at the man, but still Protosis was unmoved. More of the hooded men advanced on the rest, two coming up to Pieter and shoving him back.

"Hey, white eyes." One smaller boy said with a wooden bat in his hand. Sarek turned towards him, raising his hand to block the bat coming at his head. Sarek gripped the end of the bat hard, snatching it out of the youths hand. He twisted it round, then smashed the young man in the jaw knocking him into a puddle near the sidewalk. Sarek caught the sight of Morgon in the corner of his eye, facing a man with a gun aimed at her. Gun against sword... not fair at all. Then again Morgon looked like she could take care of herself.

Before the man could fire his weapon, Sarek knocked the back of his head lightly with his bat, making the man drop his weapon and giving Morgon a chance to knock him down. She pulled her sword down to chest height and slashed across the man's chest, making him fell on the ground and curl up into a ball. Morgon gave Sarek a smile, while Sarek just titled his head and nodded.

"That was easy." Pieter said, letting go of a short man's jumper and letting him drop on the floor. Li came over to them, and gave a nod, then pointed over to Protosis.

"Look at that." She whispered. All eyes turned over to Protosis, were two men, one hooded and one not were attacking him. The non-hooded one had grabbed Protosis from behind while the hooded one was clubbing Protosis's face side to side with a metal pole, but still Protosis didn't even struggle. Everyone looked at each other, puzzled. Moments later Protosis was released, but he stood up straight and wiped the blood off his nose, then did nothing.

"You freak!" The hooded man shouted, going for another hit. This time, Protosis caught his hand. The man dropped his metal bar and clenched his teeth trying to get loose, but Protosis let him go. He then grabbed his shirt, and lifted him into the air with just one hand, then threw him into the nearest building. The youth seemed to be dazed because he was groaning and couldn't get up, so the other one took off, shouting and swearing back at them.

"... Sorry about that, took a little longer than I thought." Protosis said, still wiping blood from his forehead, eyes and nose. The others stood staring at him, while Protosis did nothing but smirk. "Follow me, there's a subway just ahead." He said with a final laugh of amusement.

Maya looked up at Canathael as she slowly followed slightly behind him. He was still looking the other way, as if afraid to look at her. Maya followed quietly as the group took another turn, and contiuned down yet another alley. "What just happened?" Maya thought as she was watching the gravel pass underneath her, looking down at the ground. "Did he just...protect me?" Maya really didn't know what to do. She'd never been "protected" before. At least, the only one who ever did the protecting was Miguel, and that was a long long time ago. Maya had always been used to protecting herself, at least, that's how it was back in her time. To be protected by someone she wanted to protect, Maya didn't know how she was feeling. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't describe the emotion that was going through her, it was one of many mixed feelings, one of shame for not being able to take care of herself in the first place, and then having him save her, shyness because maybe it was the first time she'd ever really felt like a got-to-be-protected girl, and...something else she had never really felt before, not even she could give it a name. Maya took Canathael's jacket from her shoulders, and actually put it on, holding it tightly to her, as the group stopped.

"What's wrong?" Maya called as she caught up with the two men.

"It seems Sir Marek is a little...perplexed." Canathael said quietly as the two watched Marek look up and down the alley way.

"Ohhh great," Maya said as she rolled her eyes. "You're lost, aren't you?"

Marek gave no response, more like a mumble under his breathe that sounded like "I'm going to kill you if you don't shut up," but Maya paid no attention. Maya looked around real fast to make sure there was no one around them. Then Maya closed her eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?" Marek said as he turned around.

"Just shut up for a sec," Maya said as she concentrated. Through the drip-drops of water hitting the cement, and the rain still contiuning to fall, making a somewhat mask over the sound, Maya could faintly hear the rumble of the cars and trucks on the street, the splash of water as tires ran through the puddles of water that where now everywhere.

"The street's this way," Maya said as she started running down an alley to the right.

"Hold on!" Maya heard the call from behind her as the two boys tried to keep up. Maya was concentrating on the sound of the street, knowing that as long as she did, she would be able to find the exit to this labriynth of alleys. Maya turned up a couple of alleys until she finally stopped, and sort of slammed herself against one of the walls, slowly peeking out around the corner to see what she could see. Just a few feet away, the ground seemed to shake from the wieght of the heavy cars, trucks, and vans, not to mention taxi's that where slushing down it.

"Found it!" Maya said with a smile, as the two men joined her, Marek pushing past her as he started down the street. Maya grabbed Canathael's hand tightly as the two walked up to where Marek had stopped at the cross walk.

"Where to now, oh master guide?" Maya asked sarcastically, as she sneezed.

"I think he's a weakling..." Sarek muttered to them. The Sands crew were following behind Protosis, each talking about him. "So what if he stood up to them, he still let them beat him up." Sarek added with a growl. He folded his arms and eyed Protosis, but Protosis didn't turn.

"Maybe it be some sort o' magic..." Morgon whispered. Once again, Sarek gave a snort.

"Or he could just take a beating." Pieter said. Sarek rolled his eyes and shook his head. No man could take a beating unless they had some sort of armour or amazing strength, but even if Protosis still had the strength of his own race, no man could take that beating without even screaming out in pain.

"The subway is just ahead," Protosis shouted from in front. "And do me a favour, don't get cocky with them." He added warning them with a glare from his eyes. Sarek noticed the streets seemed to be getting darker and there seemed to be more junk on the floor. No one was around and the place seemed like a ghost city with a few thugs hanging around. Maybe it was a zombie city, a bunch of kids attacking adults who are fully armed and fully trained wasn't smart or cool. As Sarek thought to himself about the stupidity of the people in this time, the group stopped when Protosis did. Ahead of them were some grimy looking stairs leading down under a broken sign saying "Subway".

"This place looks horrible..." Li stated staring down the stairs. Protosis pushed past her and began to walk down, his heavy footsteps echoing hauntingly as he did. Li, Pieter, Sarek and Morgon glanced at each other, everyone but Sarek with a worried look on thier faces. They all waited for someone to go first, but Sarek decided to go first and walked past Li. She followed, then Pieter, and then Morgon. As they walked into a badly lit area, standing behind Protosis in a room with a rail track at the end and broken tiles off the wall, the loading of guns could be heard all around them. Then, footsteps could be heard coming from down the tunnel and out of the rooms around them, but no one moved.

"Hold it right there!" A loud, deep voice shouted. People began to emerge wearing hoods and holding numerous weapons in their hands. They came from all over, and judging from their size looking all ages. Everyone of them kept their heads down and kept coming in from the tunnels, there was atleast 25 of them. Sarek's eyes shifted side to side, but stopped when he, as well as the other members of the group felt a cold metal on their neck.

"Don't shoot." A calmer voice said, coming from the tunnels. All heads of the group looked up, seeing two figures joging down towards them and jumping onto the plantform. These two didn't wear hoods, in fact they both wore black suits which were a little ripped but looked fashionable. One was a girl, who looked Japanese or something while the other was a boy with long black hair. The other gang members lowered their weapons and stepped off, leaving the group confused.

"Sorry about that, but we can't kill you. Yeah, we have to keep watch at all the other gang members around here and we don't always look out for the enemy." The younger man said, extending his hand to Protosis. Protosis lifted his head and gave his bleeding nose another wipe, then shook the youong man's hand. The others behind Protosis just looked confused. "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Paul, leader of the Federation but everyone calls me Captain. This is Roxanne," the boy said pointing to the blackhaired girl beside him who was holding a rough sword. "We don't normally have any outsiders in our gang, btu I saw what happened back in the streets, so I wanted you with us."

"Why now?" Sarek asked blindly. Paul gave a laugh, as did a few of the others in the subway who were either sat down or backed off.

"You're really not from here, are you?" Paul asked, staring at his eyes for a moment. "Well, right now there's a gang war going on between us and the Barrier Crew, and right now we've heard the Barrier Crew are looking for any recruits, even the people they hate most, freaks. So we have to be careful, and let me tell you if there's anymore of you out there who join the Barrier Crew you let me know." Paul explained, taking out a small gun from his pocket. He raced his fingers over the shinning black metal, then smirked. "We won't stop for any of your friends if they join the Barrier Crew, and the Barrier Crew will jump at a chance for new members with anyting to their advantage. So let me tell you, if you keep anything from me, I'll kill you."

Sarek, Li, Pieter and Morgon looked at each other with worrying glancing, while the others around the subway just laughed making the situation more uneasy.

"I not be likin' this," Morgon whispered to Sarek, the laughter in the dark rank subways still bouncing off the walls. "I not be likin' this at all."

Morgon turned her attention to the boy, this Paul. He was so very young, but the whole event seemed so very familiar. Morgon smiled, more to herself then anything. She had been in a situation very similar to this long ago. She was a mere child then.

After she and her mates had conquered the English naval ship, she declared herself captian. The festiviest stopped rather quickly and every one turned on her. They began threatening her with weapons and guns, but she was Morgon the Great. This was not going to stop her.

"Hey, there!" Morgon shouted over the noise. "Paul is it?" Morgon left Sarek and Pieter's side, advancing slowly towards the dark haired boy.

Her voice had startled Paul and he tried desperately not to show it. The girl at his side glared at the older woman. But niether bothered to move.

"Ye said you were a gang, right?" Morgon waved her hand around to bring attention to the rest of the members.

"Yes, what is your point." Paul said in a rough, yet easy manner.

"Well, I use to be part of a gang. Long ago when I be young. I was their leader, like ye." She pointed at Paul as she came closer. She looked back at Sarek and Pieter, both watching her nervously and then over to Protisis who watched her with annoyance. She chuckled at the stranger's irratation and continued to approach the boy. "If ye be so kind, I would like to see how ye runs things. If that be alright?"

Paul squinted at her.

"I know I not be the most likely of alley, but I might be able to help ye out. I know that he be strong," she waved her hand at Protisis as she stopped just an arm's length from Paul, his companion staring at her with such great aggression.

Morgon smiled at the woman and bowed slightly.

"But what be strength when you be outwitted by ye enemy, eh?" Morgon gave a dramatic bow and a wide smile as she waited for the boy to say something to her. Or one of the others to try and tell her to hold her tongue.

"Are you well my lady?" Canathael asked of Maya when he heard her sneeze, she nodded still looking at Marrek for an answer to where they were going.

Marrek winced up either side of the street, spotting a few harmless looking people dressed in white garb before he decided to veer the party left, heading towards what seemed the better side of town.

After walking in endless dirrections for what seemed an eternity Maya stopped abruptly, a disgruntled look smeard across her face,

"We've been walking forever! Where the hell are you trying to take us?" she spat angrily, Marrek turned on her viciously nearly knocking over a man who wore a white vest, he was obviously nearing the end of his wits,

"I'm TRYING to find the others! you useless-"

Canathael moved to stand between the two, "Sir Marrek, we're kind that you have led us this far, but perhaps we should find our friends on our own." He spoke solemnly, his stare steady and distant. Marrek smiled reaching up to touch the sorcerer's face, running his figertips over cold damp skin,

"Such the pacifist" he mused before turning his back to the two, "Protosis is with your friends, if we find him we'll find them."

"Then maybe you should stop leading" Maya finished, releasing Canathael's hand and placing hers on her hips, "I think we should go back, and retrace our steps, then-"

"Yeh won't be goin' anywhere Lass..." a smooth amused voice broke through the conversation.

All around the wanderers stood young men and women wearing smug grins and white vests, and they carried a large variety of weapons with them as well. The three looked about restlessly, this was no group of thugs, this was a gang.

"Can't leave before I've met yah now can I?" The thick Irish accent spoke again, matching a face near a thick cluster of gang members. A tall young man swagered through the group with a dazzlingly white smile on his lips, he was fair-skinned and haired, carrying a dazzling set of green eyes. his garb was similar to the gang, but far more elegant, a long white coat was draped from his thin frame, matching well with the equaly white suit. He looked no older than seventeen, but his voice prooved that he was much older than that,

"Top o' the evenin' strangers." He spoke again, giving a grand bow, the rest of the white garbed gang doing the same, "Mah Name's Sir Gavin Whitestroun Head of the Barrier Gang, but yeh can call me Gavin."

He and the rest of the gang straightened their postures, laving the three travelers a little less than bewildered. Gavin went on with his speech regardless,

"It 'as come to me attention that yeh have been wandrin' the city fer a while now, and yeh took out some candidates for me Gang." His Ivy gaze wandered to Canathael, who regarded him through a heavy lidded stare, "An' since yeh took out the three that were supposed to be here, I suppose we may have to take yeh in their place."

"And If we don't...?" Maya asked hesitantly, taking a small gulp. Gavin threw his head back and laughed,

"What yeh think we carry all o' these weapons fer Lass?" He chuckled wipping a tear from the corner of his eyes, " 'Sides, we're a generous lot, we'll be helpin' ya find what yeh've lost, long as yeh fight fer us."

"I accept." Canathael spoke lowly, nearly going unheard. Maya looked up at him as if he were stark raving mad, and he answered, almost reading the question in her eyes, "They could cover a lot of ground for us, and we can offer what services we have."

"There's a good lad!" Gavin called walking up to Canathael, meeting the brunette's hight almost perfectly, "We'll do what we can ta find yer friends, as long as yeh work wi' us, see, 'tis a bad time fer gettin' members."

"What do you mean?" Marrek asked, glaring around the smiling group of Barriers.

"Well, we're fightin' wi' a bunch o' savages righ' now, the lot of 'em go by the name the Federation." The gang around them hissed at the name, then laughed, "Lot of Poor dogs who think they own this city, livin' in the subway no less!"

"Are they really that bad?" Maya asked, having a feeling that they should have searched the subway.

"Terrible!" Gavin shreiked dramaticaly with a grin on his face, "They are the scum o' the earth!" He laughed again merrily before leading the group towards a long stretch of suite appartments.

"You'll be alright wi' us Lass." He placed a cold hand on Maya's shoulder, "We'll get the lot of yeh cleaned up and in yer own quarters soon."

Gavin Led the group to what looked like a swanky hotel, bedecked inside with white furniture and walls, speaking breifly with a man at the desk.

"Righ'" he said to the three, who all looked slightly confused, "Me gang owns a lot of property yeh see, an' a lot o' money as well, 't's how we keep one up on those filthy Federation dogs. Now, yeh all have yer rooms ready, so I'll see you lot in the mornin'"

The group couldn't help but feel a shot of anxiety as they walked down the abadoned tunnel, careful not to trip on the rail tracks and trying to find their way through with the small torches and lighters a few of the Federation had brought along. Paul was head, with Roxanne beside him. Both carried a lighter and a torch, which didn't make it any better to see. But, for Sarek it was easy, the lighter and body heat of the others gave him enough too see. About five of the hooded Federation members followed behind Protosis, Sarek, Morgon Li and Pieter as well, so obviously they weren't trusted yet.

But Sarek wasn't concerned with his own anxiety or the Federation, it was more of Li. She seemed a little occupied by Roxanne, who was also caring the same type of sword as Li. Sarek thought for a moment they could come from the same country in different timelines, but Li seemed read to pull out her sword and cut someones head off.

"Here's the easy lesson; the main subway's are deserted. From there, you go left to get north and right to go south of the city, it's always like that. In the subways which have some members in it... well they basically lead all over the place. You don't have to worry about getting lost, a few members will show you around." Paul explained to them happily, raising his hand and pointing up at the roof of the tunnel.

"You live underground?" Sarek asked, disgusted by the place. Paul gave a light chuckle, and shook his head.

"No, most of us live on our own or with one parent. The Federation hates the Barrier's for one reason... and that's because they want control. A few years ago the Federation formed and it was for kids and rogue people who had a rough life. My big brother started it all, and the Federation hung out near the rivers and coast, but then you had a rival group, not as big. It was ruled by my brother's most hated person in the world, and that's when the Barrier Crew started. My brother, Baz was determain to keep us in the city since the Barrier's wanted to make it clear that the coast was theirs. After my brother was murdered ages ago in an earlier fight, I became leader." Paul explained, sighing at the end. "They want control, you can tell. We just want our own freedom, well we did. But after a few years more people got hurt and more friends died, it slowly turned into a war. You have other gangs around here, but the Federation and Barrier Crew are the biggest of all. We're in an all out war!"

"You know nothing about war..." Pieter growled. Paul looked back at him and raised an eyebrow, then just chuckled.

"What are you, a historian or something?" Paul laughed. Pieter stepped forward to explain who he really was, but Protosis stopped him. "And you haven't introduced yourselves, I forgot." Paul added.

"I be Morgon, Cap-" She began, but was cut off before she could say Captain by Sarek's hand covering her mouth and pulling her back.

"She's been in the army as a Captain." Protosis said quickly saving Morgon's life possibly. "That's Pieter, also coming from the Army, Li who trained in Korea and Sarek who's... from somewhere cold..." Protosis trailed off while he was introducing Sarek, but Paul took no notice. Everyone gave a slow nod, and Sarek released Morgon who glared at him.

"What happened to your eyes?" Roxanne asked, the first time she spoke. She was quite and calm, a lot like Li. "Unlike some people in the Federation, which I have no problem with, I wouldn't care less if you were from another world." She looked back at Sarek curiously, but Sarek was unmoved.

"I was born this way." Sarek growled in response.

"Are you blind?" Questioned Roxanne curiously again.

"Yes." Sarek replied plainly.

"Then how do you walk so well and act like you are not?" She asked again. Sarek gave a shrug, but didn't answer her. "And you, Li, are you from Korea or just trained there?"

"No, China." Li replied simply. She cast a glare at Roxanne, but the second-in-command gang leader just smirked evilly.

"Leave them alone, Roxanne." Paul said, shoving his friend with his hand. The Federation members gave a laugh behind them, making Pieter turn round and growl almost. "You all seem to like swords, so I'm sorry about Roxanne. You could say she likes people with... swords." Paul laghed. "...Or hates them." He added smirking like a dog. The people behind them gave a wild laugh as well, while Sarek, Li and Morgon looked down at their swords.

"...Bastards." Protosis muttered to them. Roxanne must have heard him because she muttered a respone:

"Fuck face." She spat back. Li walked forward, gripping her sword tighter and taking it out a little, but was stopped by Protosis. If there wasn't a real war between the Federation and the Barrier Crew, there would be one between the new members of the Federation and the rest of them.

Maya looked around anxiously as she watched the tall wierd guy, who was aparently named Gavin, leave the room. Maya saw as all faces where now turned towards the three time travelers, each one of them wearing those white vests, grining way to enthusastically in Maya's mind. "What a bunch of freaks!" Maya thought to herself. "Why are they obsessed with the color white??" Maya took a step back, and grabbed Canathael's hand as a woman in the gang, with blonde hair, and blue eyes took a step towards her.

"Yeh beh hungry, rite?" the lady said with a small bow. "Follow meh!" she said as she turned around and started to head down the hallway. Maya's tummy gave a growl as she clintched it with her free hand.

"That's right, we haven't eaten since we where in that tavern with John," Maya said as she looked up to Canathael. "Nor slept for that matter, in fact, I don't think I've rested since this whole thing began." Maya said quietly.

"I'm sure it will be fine, my lady," Canathael said reassuringly. "They seem hospitable. Shall we see what they have?" Maya nodded entergetically as she led the way after the woman, Marrek following not far behind.

Everything around them was white, white walls, white carpeted floors, even the molding, and picture frames where white. Finally the carpet gave way to a tiled floor, with a huge table in the middle of the room. The set was extravagant. Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beens, corn, carrots, slices of cake, slices of pie, grapes, oranges, bananas, and every other fruit Maya could think of.

"Wow!" Maya said as she rushed toward the table, letting go of Canathael's hand in the process, and surveyed the food. "This looks really good!" she said as she looked to the woman who had led them there. The woman nodded as she pulled out a chair for Maya to sit. "Thank you!" Maya said as she nodded toward the woman, but took a grape from the tray, and walked over to Marrek. "Here!" she said as she shoved it into his mouth.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He spat as he shoved her away from him.

"Making sure it's not poisoned." Maya said with a smile. "I see your still alive...soo..." Maya said as she walked over to the chair and took a seat. "It's time to eat!" Maya said as she started to load her plate with turkey and fixings, and began to devour the food. Canathael laughed quietly to himself, as he took a seat next to Maya and began to eat his share too.

"That was delicious!" Maya said as she rested the fork on the plate, as she looked up to the woman. "Would it be possible to get a bed to lay down? I don't know if I can keep my eyes open anymore." Maya said as she rubbed her eye, now feeling more sleepy then she did before, possibly because she was stuffed with good tasting food.

"Rite this way!" the woman nodded as she headed up a flight of stairs. Maya stood up from the table, and placed her napkin on her plate and looked at Canathael.

"Good Night Canathael!" Maya said as she flung her arms around his neck and hugged him, and then ran up the stairs after the woman, following her into a room that had a pair of white silk-material pajamas laying out.

"Have a good night, miss!" the woman said as she shut the door quietly behind her. Maya quickly changed her clothes, and fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed.

OOC: Sadly, Daisuke has had to drop out of the RPG but Sutaru will not die. Sutaru won't be able to jump into different timelines again but he will stay on the ship with Dave. Rhian, a friend of mine will be replacing Sutaru shortly and her character will appear somewhere in this chapter. I'll give you some more information shortly in the Underground.

Sarek moved slowly behind the others while Paul was rambling on about the ongoing war between the Federation and the Barrier Crew. He glanced back at the people behind him and stopped near Li, curious.

"You don't like her, do you?" Sarek asked in a hushed voice.

"...Not really." Li replied. Sarek gave a slow nod, understanding her perfectly. He didn't like the whole idea of a gang war and these people hating freaks, but Paul seemed like a nice guy... which Sarek hated even more.

"I know what you mean. These people seem strange, and that girl... she doesn't seem... well I don't really know, but something isn't right." Sarek muttered. Li looked up at him, then turned back to Paul who was still talking at the front.

"I hope the others are okay..." Li finally said. Sarek stopped for a moment, not actually believing what he was thinking. He shouldn't be caring for them, they were all alive in another timeline and Sarek was doomed anyway... but for once Sarek actually cared what happened to them. He was worried about them...

"... So do I." Sarek whispered to himself. He began to walk again, only to find everyone was stopped. Paul was stood under some ladders, and pointing upwards. There was silence throughout the group as Paul smirked at them.

"Well, we come to a stop here. Let's see what you got." Paul said. He put a hand over his lighter and put the flame out, then began his way up the ladders. "This leads straight to the lake in the park, and that's were most of the Barrier Crew hang out. It'll take awhile for them to come, but when they do, we'll do more then give them a punch or too." Paul said. He reached the top of the ladders, and pushed open the manhole, then looked back down. "They're all dead men and if you don't kill them you're out of this gang, and you're out of this world." Paul finall said. A strong beam of light lit up most of the tunnel, and once again the other members of the Federation laughed. They followed up after Paul, then Pieter and Morgon went up reluctently. Protosis followed with a smirk on his face, but Li and Sarek just looked at each other.

"...Damn, why did it have to come to this?" Sarek whispered looking up.

"I never though I'd hear you say that." Li mumbled. Sarek closed his eyes and sighed.

"Taking someone's life with reason is fine... sure, they have a reason, but it'd not good enough. I wouldn't be bothered about killing, but for some reason I am this time." He replied. He gave another sigh, then started up the ladder.

Sorry to hear that Daisuke was leaving us, but does anyone know if DuoMax is still posting?

The night seemed long and quite inviting for sleep, even now at an hour or so past dawn it seemed that time had slowed. This thought crossed Canathael's mind as he slowly dressed before the full length mirror that stood against the far wall of his room. well, room might not have been the proper word to describe it, it was more like his very own living quarters. It seemed that not even his appartments on the ship were this grand.

He smiled gratefully for this encounter as he looked over his reflection. He was dressed in full white garb that seemed to be the running theme with the Barrier crew, which didn't bother him much at all.

He wore the standard gear that all the members wore, white shirt, slacks, and vest. But he was also given a snowy white hooded longcoat that would hold well in the weather (it looked like rain again today), and suited him quite nicely.

In his old time only royalty could afford such clean, exquisite material, for only the rich had the means and resources to keep such nice clothing. And this was a fine change from the street clothes that he had previously worn.

Now fully clothed, and fed by the mysterious staff that wandered the residence, Canathael set off to find the other two that he had been traveling with. He knew that Maya's room was next to his own, but he was unaware of where Marrek had run off to, or where his lodgings were. He didn't need to wonder much furthur as he nearly ran into the white-garbed man in question head on as he stepped from his room.

Canathael gave a start as he stepped backwards, but was caught by the upper arm in Marrek's firm grip,

"Canathael. It's a bit early." He stated flatly, giving Canathael a rather cheeky once-over. The sorcerer shuddered under his gaze,

"It is Sir Marrek," He replied dumbly, wincing at the grip Marrek had on his arm.

"Pitty" The Jackal-like grin spread accross his face, as black eyes met green, "And I was just about to come and wake you."

Canathael squirmed against Marrek's grip, catching the meaning in his voice quite clearly. He didn't know much about this Marrek fellow, but he had a feeling that there was a bit more to him than what was seen on the surface. The grip loosened as the other man stepped back, a bored expression on his face, it seemed he already grew tired of torturing the sorcerer,

"You should wake the girl, Gavin's gathering everyone..." He muttered before heading up the hallway with one last lecherous glance at the bewildered brunette.

Canathael sighed walking the other way, towards Maya's room, not very far from his at all. He knocked on the door lightly, calling her name softly. When he heard no response he opened the door slowly, peeking his head inside.

Maya lay currled quite comfortably amongst volumes of comforters and sheets that composed the snowy bed, she breathed in and out, quite slowly and softly, looking perfectly content. He almost felt sorry that he had to wake her.

Moving over to the side of the bed, the sorcerer looked down upon his ally smiling saddly. She was so young it seemed, and too innocent for these worlds, for these missions. He looked about the room, realizing what they were about to do. They were about to go to war, to fight for someone they hardly knew, when they should be looking for their friends.

Canathael sat down on the edge of Maya's bed, these saddening thoughts still running through his mind while he lightly brushed a lock of hair from her forhead.

This day it seemed, was going to be trully testing.

The bright light lessened as Morgon pulled herself to the surface, turning around to help whomever was behind her. The girl behind her swatted at her hand violently as she made her way to the surface. Morgon smiled at her, shaking her head as Morgon stood up. Pieter looked about, holding tightly to his gun. There was a strange sense of fear that seemed to race over him. But Morgon ignored it. She looked down into the darkness of the tunnel.

"Hey, don't think about runnin' off now." Morgon heard Roxann's voice behind her.

"Don't worry, I won't be leavin' ye now. The fun only startin'." Morgon turned around and smiled. The small fragile woman by Paul's side sneered at her. "You be havin' issues girly. But ye ain't gettin' me afraid of ye. So ye know what? Keep ye problems off my back." Morgon smiled even brighter as Sarek made his way out of the subway.

Morgon left the group's side and mingled into the center of the gang. Their street clothes smelled of mold and mildew as she passed by the dark colors of people. They were all so young. It reminded her of when she was their age. She understood their need to be strong, to take what was their. They had to fight, and sometimes death was just unstoppable. Of course, if it was preventable then by all means stop it. But Morgon saw no way out of this one and she couldn't take on all the memembers of this gang by herself.

Canathael sighed as he reached to gently move Maya's shoulder, gently calling her name in order to wake her.

"Lady Maya, it is time to wake up," Canathael called gently, shaking her shoulder the slightest. Maya showed no response, as she contiuned to breathe in and out steadily. Canathael tried once again to wake the young girl but with no avil. Maya was just too comfortable, she didn't want to have to wake up and face reality. Finally, Canathael shook her hard enough, practically coming to a yell, as Maya slowly opened her eyes.

"Cael.." Maya said quietly as she rubbed her eyes, slightly sitting up. "What's wrong? What time is it? It can't be time for school already?"

Canathael smiled sadly, as he brushed some of Maya's hair out of her eyes with his hand. "I'm afraid it's nearly dawn. And there won't be any school today, Gavin is waiting for us."

"Gavin?" Maya said as she was suddenly brought back to reality, now feeling fully awake. "But that means...we'll have to fight, won't we?"

Canathael did not answer verbally, though he slowly nodded.

"I don't want to fight! We should be trying to find Li and the others! What if they didn't find her? She could be alone with that evil dude!" Maya said as she leaned against Canathael.

"We must first past this obsticle first, then we will be able to resume our search. I'm sure Lady Li is fine. She is a strong woman." Canathael said as he stood up. "I'll be waiting outside the door. Please get ready, my Lady."

Maya watched as Canathael walked slowly to the door, and walk out it. Maya stretched as she got out of bed, and observed the clothes that where laid out for her. "I still don't see why we have to fight. This isn't our war. Our war is against them." Maya sighed as she saw the all white clothing. "Seriously, what is their problem? Apparently they have no fashion sense." Maya said as she put on the pants, and then rolled them up to her knee. "It's no use if I can't get to my knives," Maya said as she put on her shoes, securing her knives, and special item inside of them. "Well...maybe I can keep them a little long, these pants are a little baggy." Maya said as she brought the cuff down to 3/4 length, and put on the shirt and vest. Maya reached into a dresser, and pulled out two strips of blue ribbon, using them to secure her hair in ponytails on either side of her head. "Sorry, "gang", but I can't go without wearing blue." Maya pulled herself away from the mirror, and quickly ate a little of the food that was sitting out for her. Finally, Maya opened the door.

"Let's get this overwith, Canathael. I don't want to waste any more time, when we could be looking for everyone." Canathael nodded, as Maya grabbed his hand, and the two headed downstairs to where everyone awaited.

I have PMed DuoMax, but Pieter will still be in the RPG all the way through even if Duo drops out because Pieter is needed for the upcoming chapters. Also, sorry for the long post, but Rhian your character has been brought in. Just do it as if the gang members come and Morgon, Erika and Sarek try to explain Erika, then I'll take care of you getting to the other gang in a few post.

Protosis shot a doggish grin over at the sands crew who were stood beside the lake, far away from the other Federation members while they discussed ways to kill the Barrier Crew. Sarek noticed Protosis, and his look, even with his vision, but thought nothing of it.

?I still don?t trust him.? Sarek murmured towards his comrades.

?Ja, I?m with you on that.? Pieter said, nodding his head in agreement. Li also nodded, but diverted her gaze over to the hooded young men laughing over on the wet grass of the park. Li wasn?t looking at them; she was looking at the girl... Roxanne. Roxanne was staring back with cold, deep dark eyes, smirking evilly towards Li.

?She shouldn?t use a sword for this.? Li said, shaking her head. Sarek sighed, giving a nod. Pitiful? they had to use ancient weapons and great master swords like katana?s for a silly gang war, absolutely pathetic in Sarek?s view.

?I sorry to be interrupting and changin? the subject, but that wouldn?t happen t? be one o? your crewmen over there, would it?? Morgon asked, pointing across the lake and into the trees. ?I can?t make ?im out.? She added. Sarek squinted at the figure, yes? the body temperature and unusual orange and red bold looked was familiar indeed.

?Damnit!? Sarek shouted in a hushed voice. ?It?s Sutaru!? He told the others. They all took time to look over there, Li and even Sarek feeling happy until they released.

?If they see him, they?ll think he?s from the rival gang!? Pieter said. His eyes widened as he clutched his gun harder, and aimed over at Sutaru. ?I can scare him away, with one sho-?

?No! They?ll hear!? Sarek shouted, pushing Pieter?s gun away. ?I think we should talk to him? Li, Pieter? can you go over there and stop them from noticing us while Morgon and myself go to see Sutaru and get him away.? Sarek said. He cocked his head to the side, indicating Morgon to follow him as Li and Pieter departed, both holding the tip of their weapons tightly. The tension was rising more and more? and Sarek knew putting Sutaru in front of all of them was the biggest risk of all. If the Federation found out they were helping Sutaru and saw him as an enemy they could all die. But Sarek knew that he had to help, he didn?t consider any of these people just people or crew, he considered them friends? for the first time in his life, he had human friends.

?You?re not going to get him.? Protosis laughed while Morgon and Sarek glanced over at the water. He was right, very right. The water was too cold, Sarek could see. His vision told him it was extremely cold and wet, but he could swim through it? not Morgon. ?Stop putting yourself at risk Sarek, or have you finally found your heart?? Protosis laughed again. Sarek glanced at him briefly, then back at the water.

?Morgon, stay here, this water is too cold.? Sarek order. He began to walk forward, talking a step off the bank. But Morgon grabbing his arm tightly stopped him.
?Now look here! I?ve been on a ship, sailin? through the ice cold sea, don?t you be goin? tellin? me I can?t handle the cold! An? if I can?t, then why can you?? Morgon asked quickly pulling Sarek back. Sarek nudged his arm away, and shook his head.

?I can adapt to the temperature, the technology in my body helps me do this. I can also breath under water with this mask, so I can?t drown. You can drown. The cold will weaken your body like everyone else?s and the quick current will wash you downstream, like anyone else. But I can?t be weakened by this cold, I can?t be washed away downstream to drown, not because I?m Sarek Luther a super human, but because I was born in worse cold than this and because I have the technology to survive.? Sarek explained. He glanced over to see Pieter and Li doing well occupying the gang members by talking. After awhile, he turned towards the lake again, only to be stopped once more by Morgon.

?You ain?t goin? on yer own! Besides, if I do drown like ye think I will, wouldn?t ye help me?? Morgon asked. She smiled at Sarek, and he sighed, giving up.

?I?m no golden knight in armour, but if you insist. If you drown, don?t blame me. When you pass over to the next dimension blame yourself and curse whoever you like, but not me.? Sarek said quickly. He knew it wouldn?t be long until the other gang members saw them, but he had to take Morgon if she insisted on it. Glancing over at Protosis, who was still grinning, Sarek nodded his head at Morgon and indicated her to grab on to the end of his trench coat and the end of his selve. He stared down at the water, watching it rush past quickly. Well, at least the bank of the river was not so steep and they wouldn?t fall in completely.

Sighing heavily, Sarek braced one foot on the side of the riverbank, and dropped down quickly, landing heavily in the water. The water rushed over him, but he was used to the cold. He felt Morgon almost pulling him down and it was only then he released that the water was deeper than he thought. He could barely touch the ground.

?Morgon!? Sarek shouted, trying to pull himself up. Morgon still had her hand on the edge of his coat, still pulling him back. Quickly, Sarek grabbed her loose arm and pulled it over his shoulder.

?The water sure is cold, but I?m alrigh? back ?ere!? Morgon yelled back. Struggling to keep his footing even with the strong current, Sarek growled back at her.

?Well I?m not!? Sarek shouted back. The trench coat was long and heavy, making it even harder to move. He tried to glance back at Morgon, but couldn?t. He tried to move forward, but the water was too quick. As he lifted one foot, the current swept his other foot with great force, knocking him over to the side and sending both him and Morgon downstream. Sarek felt the weight pull off his back, but didn?t have time to think of were Morgon had gone. He was underwater, being pushed by the currents so fast he wasn?t sure what was happening himself. Though with his mask, he couldn?t run out of breath. Quickly, Sarek lifted his head over the water, and his arms, to look for Morgon.
But to his shock, he had found her. Or rather, she had found him. He felt a strong hand grasp his arm, and when Sarek looked up he saw Morgon, soaked, but alive. She was daggling off the riverbank with her sword duck into the bank and she was gripping the sword tightly as she tried too pull Sarek up.

?I see ye be needed a knight in armour?? She said jokingly. Sarek growled at her, and took a chance by reaching up at the grass on the riverbank. She gave him a pull up with one hand, then he grabbed onto the grass and rolled over to the other side. Quickly, he pulled Morgon up on the bank beside him watching her easily take her sword out of the riverbank. She sat beside him, beaming at him with a large grin on her face.

??Shut up.? Sarek growled at her.

?But I didn?t say anythin?!? Morgon shouted back defensively. Sarek sighed, standing up in his wet trench coat. It was too heavy; he needed to take it off. So, he did. He slipped it off and threw I beside him, then looked up to see Li and Pieter. They still had the groups occupied, but Roxanne was still looking. If she was still looking, then why hadn?t she told the others yet?

?There!? Morgon suddenly broke Sarek?s trail of thought when Morgon nudged him, pointing over towards the trees. Sarek saw him? Sutaru. Morgon didn?t wait for him; she was already racing towards Sutaru. Sarek followed after her, but heard trouble behind.

?HEY!? A voice screamed from behind. It was Paul. The youthful voice of Paul, the leader. At this sound, Sarek increased his speed coming on level with Morgon. They saw Sutaru clearly now, he was walking through the trees, towards them.

?Sutaru!? Sarek shouted. When he came right near Sutaru Sarek grabbed his comrade and threw him against the tree, while Morgon looked back at the gang members yelling over the river.

?Sarek, good to-?

?Shut up and listen, you need to run, run far away. Those people will kill you! Just run, find Maya and Canathael, and tell them we?re all okay!? Sarek ordered. Sutaru pushed Sarek back off him and sneered at him.

?Sarek, you traitor! Kill the Barrier bastard!? The voice of Paul yelled. Sarek glanced back, seeing them all making their way across the river with great difficultly. They thought Sutaru was a Barrier Crewmen? so he had to make it look like he was hurting him.

?I?m sorry, Sutaru. Run!? Sarek ordered. Like expected, Sutaru stood his ground and didn?t run. Without another thought, Sarek?s fist connected with Sutaru?s jaw, making him stagger into a tree. ?Run!? Sarek yelled. Sutaru put his hand over his jaw in shock, then turned and ran. Sarek wanted to make it look good, so he and Morgon chased Sutaru into the woods. But as they ran, someone leaped on Sarek from out of nowhere, pinning him down to the dirty woodland floor. He flipped the heavy person off, and looked up to see a young girl, Japanese? he could tell.

?Leave that man alone!? Shouted the young girl. Sarek breathed heavily, and gulped.

?Listen to me, you?re going to die if those people catch you. You have to get off me, let me go before they see you as an enemy. You have to act as one of my friends; an ally or they?ll kill you. I don?t know who you are, but you have to do as I say or I can?t help you when they cross the river and find you attacking me!? Sarek shouted, trying to push her off.

The girl?s dark gold eyes narrowed, and she released him. Standing quickly, she watched him as he also stood, and looked back to see how far behind his friends were. She did a couple backhand springs, to get distance from the man. When she settled, a couple meters away, she said, in a soft voice, ?I?m Erika.?

The man stood up. ?Sarek.?

The raven-haired teen watched him, and soon heard people running. Erika had to stop herself from fading into the landscape, and running. Her breath caught in her throat, and she turned to watch the people emerge from the trees.

?Did you-?

The boy in the lead stopped, breathing hard as he saw Erika. ?Who are you?? Erika?s calm, closed tone held an obvious accent. ?I?m Erika.? She nodded towards Sarek. ?I?m an friend of Sarek?s.? His name rolled off her tongue as if she had been saying it for a while. Sarek seemed to take a sharp breath, but only Erika noticed it.

The boy turned to Sarek, seemingly satisfied with her answer for now. ?What happened to that Crewman, Sarek?? Sarek said, ?I lost him. I wasn?t expecting Erika, and when she stepped out, I was startled.? Erika noticed his eyes flick to her every now and then. She made no comment. ?He disappeared.?

Erika was leaning against a tree, gold eyes watching the rest of the party. ?And don?t bother going after him.? The boy looked at her through narrow eyes. ?Trust me on this. If you?ve lost him in the woods, you?re not going to find him.?

OOC: *takes a deep breath* Gah.

I'll move this along and then turn in for the night, but good post Rhian!

As the gang members whispered with each other, or trying to dry their clothes off, Sarek stared at "Erika" evilly. Whoever she was, or whatever she was doing her, so almost got them all killed.

"Well we have to get back to the lake, those Barrier idiots will be there soon." Paul said. He flicked his hand in the air, indicating everyone to move. They followed Paul through the trees, but Pieter, Li and Morgon didn't. They came over to Sarek and Erika, looking back so that the Federation didn't become suspicious.

"That was close." Morgon said, sighing in relief. Sarek shot a look a Erika again, and nodded.

"Too close. This is Erika," Sarek said changing the subject at the end. Pieter stepped forward holding his gun tightly and nodded.

"I'm Pieter." He said with a polite nod of his head.

"Li." Li said, stepping forward. Erika gave a nod while Li gave a low bow, then Morgon stepped forward introducing herself a little differently.

"I be Morgon, nice ta meet ye!" She said, patting Erika on the back.

"...Nice to meet you all. You should really stay away and keep out of all these gang wars, it's too dangerous." Erika said. The group began to walk slowly towards the rest of the gang while Erika talked. "I try not to get involved, so you shouldn't. But it seems you've dragged me into this."

"Well, you shouldn't have attacked me!" Sarek snapped. "Sutaru was a fool, and it's getting to much now. Everyone around seems to be acting the fool, and it's really messing up this whole mission." Sarek said. He could feel the glares and growls from his fellow crewmates, but not Erika. She was still puzzled about what he just said.

"Mission?" She asked. Another red hot glare was shot in Sarek's direction, by Pieter. Pieter grabbed Sarek's arm, and pulled him back a little, whispering to him.

"She cannot know!" He hissed in a hushed voice.

"What?" Erika asked. She came over towards Pieter and Sarek, causing Li and Morgon to follow. The other Federation members were well ahead by now, so if Sarek or anyone was going to explain anything they didn't have much time. "Are you trying to start a war between the-"

"We're all from different timelines. After a war, technically in the future from your point of view, a man named Protosis tried to carry out the same plan of the mad man who started the war. A ship was assembled out of time and a few of us were taken to the ship to stop Protosis. Right now he's jumped to this year, got us involved in a gang war and you decided to jump on my back while we tried to resolve things quicker." Sarek explained. He folded his arms and noticed the glares off his comrades.

"Idiot!" Pieter shouted, smacking Sarek over the head with his gun. Sarek stumbled a bit, but didn't fall. He looked up at Pieter evilly, ready to punch him, but Pieter walked away with Li.

"I think ye spend too much time with Dave." Morgon whispered to Sarek who was clutching his head hard. Sarek growled and mumbled some insults, then looked up into the face of Erika, who by the look on her face didn't believe most of what he just said.

"Friends! Allies! Newcomers!" Gavin called proudly from a pristine paraphet set up in the center of the Barrier hotel lobby. What seemed to be a hundred or so gang members cheered at their leader, their calls bouncing off the high porcelian ceiling loudly. Gavin held out a white gloved hand to calm his followers, eyes resting breifley on the three time travelers that clustered near the back of the crowd.

"Today, We will show the Federation who owns this city!" He cried, arms outstretched boldly, "Today we will finally avenge Michael's death!"

An uproar of applause and cheering answered the Irish leader, but left three very confused members standing in the back.

"Who's Michael?" Maya asked, looking to Canathael who returned the bemused look. A fair young man in front of them turned and smiled politely,

"Michael was Gavin's kin, 'is brother." He explained, glancing back at their leader then dropping his voice, "He was killed a long time ago by 'is best friend...Man by the name o' Baz, leader o' the Federation."

"So Gavin's out to get blood." Marrek stated rather than asked, the young man nodded.

"Gavin already took revenge, 'e killed Baz ina fight, but it's no' enough, 'e wants Paul, Baz's brother." The man shook his head saddly, "The lot o' us 'ave lost so much to the war, maybe if we get Paul, it'll all end."

"Brothers!" Gavin called over the crowd, "It's Time!"

Slowly, yet surely, the crowd began to file out of the hotel, all heading in the same dirrection. Maya grabbed at Canathael's coat,

"Cael, I can't do this!" She said, her eyes wide with fear, "We have to find the others! We shouldn't be here!"

"Lady Maya, please." Canathael cooed gently, taking her hand, "All will be well, I won't let anything happen to you."

She seemed content with this answer, grasping his hand firmly as they made their way towards the front entrance. At the doors, gang members were passing out weapons, giving each of the travelers small easy-firing pistols.

The mob cheered and shouted all the way to the park, making their presence known as they marched through the city. Gavin laughed manically as they neared the lake, leading his troops into the greatest battle yet.

Near the rear, Maya, Canathael and Marrek could hear the first shots being taken at each side.
