The NFL season has begun! Just thinking about it gives me chills down my spine...will the Pats repeat? Do the Panthers have it in them? Can the Raider's dig out of that ponderously deep hole? Can the Seahawk's soar? Are the Eagle's on the path of glory?

Or will a new team begin a dynasty to last a decade???!!!!

NO ONE KNOWS!!! And thats the glory of it!

This thread is for talking about any/all NFL related things... thank God for America..and thank God for American Football!!!

Oakland Raiders 1-1 :smirk:

The Pats beat Indy, does anyone consider that a portent of things to come?

Lets rock and Roll baby!

The Redskins have a shot at it, although a long one. Their running back is awesome, and the D is fairly tough... I just dunno if they can handle the pressures of the playoffs. Gibbs kicks *** though, so if it comes down to coaching, the 'Skins have a decent chance.

I just want to see Denver and KC get owned.... hate them Donkeys and Chefs!

poo62.2... look it up on google if you really want to know... its a little too complicated to explain in one post.
I know about as much on american football as a....ummm...goose because i live in england. So i have no idea what on earth Midnight Rush is talking about!! Could someone please tell me what Midnight Rush just said!!
As far as I can tell our American football is like what you guys call Rugby-only not nearly as violent.

Basically the whole idea of the game is for one team to score more points at the end of a game than the other team. Touchdowns are worth 7 points and feild goals are worth 3 points. It's pretty much a bunch of guys wearing spandex and chasing one guy with an oddly shaped ball around a feild for four quarters which are about 15 minutes long. They try to tackle the guy with the ball so he doesn't get too many yards because getting too many yards is bad for the other team I think.

At the end of the season there's a national holiday (may as well be) called the Superbowl where the two best teams in both the AFC and the NFC try to be the best of the best. During the halftime that day there's usually a bunch of performances. Last year the FCC got mad at Janet Jackson (and not Justin Timberlake) for a 'wardwobe malfunction'. I don't know how that happened, I've been dresing myself for 20 years (my mom dresed me when I was a baby) and I've never had my boobs fly out in public.
poo62.2... look it up on google if you really want to know... its a little too complicated to explain in one post.
How was that complicated? The basics of the game are easy, get the ball from the middle of the field to your side of the field with the least flags on the play, going out of bounds and other penalties. And score. Then you can do a silly dance.

As for me, I'm hoping that the Buffalo Bills new coach can help the team get better than they were last year. I mean obviously they've made great improvements since the 2001/2002 season when they were I believe 3 and 13, but they haven't been to the playoffs since 1999 and they haven't been to a Superbowl since 1994. Okay, so they lost every superbowl they went to. But they were the best in their franchise 4 years in a row because they made it to 4 consecutive superbowls which is more than any other team in NFL history. Okay so the last two times they were beat by the Cowboys (shut up LP) but they did get there 4 times.

Of course, their season seems to be off to a rocky start this year. Not only did they lose all their pre-season games, but they lost their first season game by a feild goal at the end of the fourth quarter. But they lead through the majority of the game so there's hope for atleast a play-off spot this year, right?

I almost forgot, the Bills Play the Raiders tomorrow. I wonder how that's going to turn out.

Anyone ever been to a football game? If so, share your stories.
The Broncos went to like 5 or 6 Supergbowls in a row if i'm not mistaken... ^%&*ing Elway...
You are mistaken. The Broncos have made it to 5 or six superbowls, but not in a row. The Buffalo Bills, although they lost all four times are the only team to make it to the super bowl four times in a row.

I just asked my dad who's been around since the superbowl began top make sure i was right.

Ok had to put some steeler prattle in here!

yeah midnight rush, sorry about that first game there. you guys had heart in the second half, and probly would have won if we didnt already have a good lead.

But yeah we just got rammed by the freakin Ravens. man i hate that team! so many of them have been to jail and most of them are cocky A-holes. in our game today, Deon (spelling?) had this average run-back for like 20 yards, and being the idiot he is he rips off his helmet and skips around the field! HE GOT A FIFTEEN YARD PENALTY FOR TAKING OFF HIS HELMET!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! that made my day...

I hate to break it to you, but 13-10 is hardly kicking *** as you put it. You can even ask the Yankees who have managed to lose 22-0. All that means is that the Raiders (who can't decide what city to play in as their home city) won by a field goal. Winning by three points is not considered trouncing in my book-I've seen enough Bills gamse to know that. They can lose much worse.

Okay, football trivia: Out of the three teams from New York, which is the only football team whose stadium is located in NEw York?
Its about time the Redskins win another Superbowl esspecially with Joe Gibbs back in town.
Preach it brutha!!...hopefully they got all the turnovers out of their system against the Giants.

Skins are going up against the Cowboys this week. I think that we (yes, the proverbial "we") have a chance. The Browns defense rattled Testavarde pretty well last week and I think that if Gibbs and Co. does the same (and holds onto the ball of course) they could get a "V".

Edit...the answer to the above question is the Buffallo Bills...

Well your raiders didn't look very good against my Bills (Oh why do I follow them) but luckily for them they were playing the Bills or they would have lost. Buffalo is realy a cruel team to love, because you look at them and think that they should be a really good team, especially with a killer defense but they end up sucking it up all the time. Whenever things start looking good they throw an inteception or fumble in the red zone or Bledsoe gets sacked (his favorite pastime).

I think since I live in Oregon now I'm going to get more into the Seahawks (closest pro team).

Things aren't going too well for my Bills. Theyu lost to the Jets Yesturday...big suprise huh? I think if they got rid of the quarterback (name escapes me right now) and used the second string guy instead they might have a chance against the Dolphins this Sunday.

Then again, Hell could freeze over and the Bills could not only win with the guy they have, but go to teh Super Bowl and win that too.

Personally I think they would do better to send the cheerleaders out to the feild and have the players prance around on the sidelines

Ratings would go up for the NFL if they did that. I know I'd watch more games lol. Anyhoo, I'd say that the Bills should own the Dolphins. Dolphins are just...deflated. On the other hand, they are going to win a game soon, its sort of like the unwritten law of terrible teams.

My Raiders' got their ***** kicked by the Colts :bawl:... but I knew it was gonna happen.

If only the Raiderettes would have taken the field. Manning would have LOVED getting sacked that game..lmao

oh man! The Bills actually won a game today. You see the Dolphins and the Bils had this game today and who ever lost would be a really big loser instead of just a loser. And well, the Bills are now just losers instead of really big losers.

It was either the coache's birthday gift. Or the coache's threats to trade all of them.

What is a coache?

Yeah finally the bills blew off their stink and beat somebody, though I don't think the season is savable. The least we can do is get a better record so that we give the cowboys a crappier 1st round draft pick. Of course it seems like the Bills are starting to show signs of life, with Mcgahee playing for a full game and a couple of changes on D. I'm still hoping that Bledsoe gets scrapped soon, he's being paid way too much.

Hey, you try typing with a 3 week old baby in your arms and 2 hours of uninterupted sleep. I only misspelled one word, so I think I did pretty good.

I actually manged to catch 4 games that the Bills played while I lived in Texas last year. Bledsoe made me sick last year...I've never screamed at the TV so much-well, except for the time that I watched the State of the Union address when Bush declared a ceasefire. I do agree he needs to be scrapped.
