Delta
Hey, hey! It's a Viera! Something I came up with after signing up for Yunsung's RP. It's kind of rushed so the ears may look a bit off. XD Suggestions? Raves? Constructive criticisms? Go on, tell me what you think of it! The ears are not bad, they flow with the picture. Delta
Ah, yes. It is a Viera. Based it on numerous sketches of FF12's Fran. Yunsung's RPG is called "Final Fantasy: Eternal Dreams". I think the sign-up's still open. Thanks for your comment! lavonia
The composition and color are the strong points of the piece. I think maybe the hair is the weakest point of the piece. The hair color is great, but something doesn't have the strength that's in the rest of the piece. Great work.
Neko
Okay, first: HO-LY-CRAP! You drew that?! I almost cant believe it, it's done so well...I hatesss you now, for being able to draw better than me! (j/k) Secondly, although I'm not particularly into FFXII at the moment, and therefore haven't seen much about it, but I have seen this 'Fran' character. I agree that this drawing does bear an eerie resemblance, but I can't bring myself to connect your drawing with Fran. Third (although this last has nothing to do with the picture), as a fellow member of Yunsung's RP, I'd like to congradulate you for having such good taste in games and adventures (but that's just my opinion). Over all, I humbly submit a 10 out of 10 score for this picture, though someone not quite as hopelessly infatuated with the subject matter as I might want to knock off a point for whatever stupid reason...great job! -Wave

Delta
OHISAHIBURI DESU NE??? Wow, it's been far, far too long since I posted in this thread! Have you all been eating well? The next work I'm gonna feature is something I drew some months ago (last May, I think). I was cleaning out my files when I stumbled on this pic and since I've practically nothing to do, I decided to try out the coloring tutorials down at Polykarbon. This was supposed to be Rikku (FFX-2 version, yeah?) but I've such poor memory that I even forgot her trademark ribbon sleeves! As you can see, it's yet to be finished. My mind went blank halfway through coloring this piece, just when I was about to start working on her forearm. I'm now trying to figure out where the highlights and shadows should go; I'm sure you guys can help me with that, eh? (Please?) So, what do you think?
Kirika
Wow. The coloring is fantastic. I could never color with the computer. Still trying though :animeswea What program do you use to color your pictures?
Pumpkin
I'm not going to critize much because I understand that this picture is not done. Obviously you used photoshop but did you use color pencils with this? Or pastels? It really looks like you used oil pastels and has a kind of unique look to it that I haven't really seen it most sketches. The coloring is fantastic and the thing that stands out is her eyes. It seems like the colors are blended together but I can't help but love it. Only thing is wasn't Rikku's hair in a bandana and in braids in the back as well? I'm not sure myself. For the most part you've got the bikini part down as her body figure looks really great. Only thing that I'm not sure about is the hair and the braids, some of the beads look a bit large for her hair. It's a wonderful piece of artwork and I hope to see more of your drawings in the future! Keep them coming and great job! Delta
Waaaaai~ Replies! Actual, tangible replies! I'm so happy! T_T
real goood i need to start drawing fan art again..i need to go back to my real drawing place...i just can't make up my own characters and draw the body and face and legs come together
Same here. That's why I'm gonna put aside drawing legs 'til I'm confident that I can draw bodies and faces well. The great Falcoon leaves the lower limbs out from the works in his site and I'm gonna do just the same. ;P
What program do you use to color your pictures?
Photoshop 7. Classic, yeah? Primitive even by others' standards. I do wish I have PaintShop Pro (that's what it's called, amirite?) but then I probably won't be able to play around with it, considering what very little I know about the program. :animeswea
I'm not going to critize much because I understand that this picture is not done. I think I'm allergic to pastel dust and I tend to get oil pastels on my clothes. In this drawing, I wasn't able to go past the sketching stage 'cause I cannot ink for the life of me. The raw scan was in grayscale and was really dirty so I had to rework the outlines with PS's pen tool. The whole tedious process isn't worth it; may God grant me a talented inker. And yeah, you are absolutely right about her 'do! While ooking at her character design, I realized that she has really long bangs and a multitude of braids snaking in and out of her bandanna (I'm probably gonna add the braids later but I did something about her bangs) That's why she didn't look right! Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! You've all been really helpful! +++++++++++ "Lazy Delta! You're trying to cheat us by posting another unfinished piece!" Sorry but I really felt had to show you guys what progress I've made in the past week. I found this really nice brush hidden in PS7's defaults and I must say that it's a lovely brush for rendering knits. I've finished the left forearm, her right elbow, and her bangs but I'm now in a rut figuring out how to shade her abdomen. Thus the update! So, what do you think?
KKC
Wow, I really really really love your art! Do you have a Deviant art account? Anyways, I really like the colors in this one. The orange, red, and yellow all go together really well and the blue head band just looks really pretty against them (i'm kinda strange). I really like the style of it over all, the only thing is that the hair isn't sketched out like the rest, but that's probly cause you havn't finished it yet ^_^ Good Job, I want to see more! I give it a 10 out of 10!
Epsilon
I've finished the left forearm, her right elbow, and her bangs but I'm now in a rut figuring out how to shade her abdomen. Thus the update![/SIZe']
I think the best places for shading her abdomen would be in the fallowing places as shown be. This way the high light and shadows upon her skin would coordinate with the shadows on her left upper (?) elbow, chest, and front shoulder. Image: Rikku - 02. For an drawing so rough, I really enjoy seeing small pieces of the process that you are currently going through. I really like your choice of colors and find them fairly accurate to most of the original artwork designs. Very eye catching. The color especially seems to flow well on her scarf / knit. The texture brush you've used work effectively. From your second version, there is two minor flaws that I find slightly annoying. On her where her the upper muscle over her shoulder connects to the lower muscle, is distorted. On the area of which the two muscles meet the arm gets too thin. I think it could be widen slightly to be more proportionate to the rest of the body. The second is the inking on the nose. It's very thick, and a little of the black inking could probably removed. However, I like both the position you've chosen and the over all feel to your image. It distributes a good side of her personality. Along with showing off her character design. You're drawing style is very well rounded. The way you've drawn Rikku eyes and hair are wonderful. And I'd really adore you posting the finish project some time in the future. Great job. Raquel
Looks good to me... I'm just starting to putz around with photoshop. The only thing I have to complain about is that while in the first drawing the eyes were super, in this new one everything has been cleaned up except the eyes. In my opinion it dosen't match up and creates disharmony.
Delta
Due to a not-so-sudden, probably indefinite episode of indolence (read: laziness), Delta will be postponing further updates of her Rikku fanart. Aaryanna
First of all I just have to say it. Wow! O_O That?s amazing. The way you combined the pictures and the overall color scheme is brilliant! I really don?t see that it?s missing anything. It?s so beautifully put together. I don?t have any pointers since it?s obvious that you know how to do far more than I do, but I do have a suggestion. If you feel something is missing, perhaps you could put the mountain that is in the background of the wave picture back in? Unless you?ve already tried that. Other than that I don?t have a clue as to what is missing. I think it looks great. ^_^

Also, I'd like to thank the gracious Sakura-dono as well. You've both been very helpful! Yes, it is especially when the artist has come a long way in terms of exploiting the powers of Photoshop that she needs feedback more. Sure, she made it to (first and foremost) please herself but it should be able to elicit the same feelings that brought about its conception in everyone who sees it as well. *o* Whoa. That sounded weird. Guess reading all that Yakitate!! Japan will do that to you. Well then! Without further ado, I shall now unveil the new Eien ni, Ikkaku: Aaryanna/Sakura version! Aaryanna
I definitely like the changes you have made. ^_^ I especially like how you have the little dots positioned to look like they are coming out of the mountain. I also like how you repositioned the larger text and then added in the smaller text into the background. Even if I can?t read it, the text really blends well and it reminds me of Japanese art prints that I have seen at the store. ^_^ Out of curiosity, what does it say? Also, now that I have the two to compare, I like how you changed the text at the bottom. By changing it from bold to regular text the words blend in more instead of standing out. I definitely like the simple text better than the bold that was in the first one. I don?t suppose I could use it on my computer as a wallpaper? Hehe, I adore pink and I love the mystical air that this picture has. ^_^

Sakura
*squee!* It's excellent!!! I LOVE the new version, it really turned out well. Moving the "Eien ni" from the right corner to the left corner was a good move because it helped to fill the corner behind the wave. Adding in the mountain and the Japanese really helped it, because now it doesn't look as empty as the last one. There's really only one thing I can say bad about it, and that is the coloured stripes on his robe. I'm not against them, because they look good, but on his left arm and foot you can see it flooded in a little, and there's splotches here and there along his foot and arm, plus the section that's not coloured in near his toes. Other than that, it's fantastic. Well done ^__^ Sorry if I'm being picky.

Ezekiel
Akfsgu9bss...that's Dante? Holy hell. o_o How do you find these incredibly sexy pictures, madame? I think it's wonderful how you use Ajikan so much. I simply adore them, and seeing another big fan is wonderful~ (Isn't Gotoh a doll?) I'll never get my head around how you do such fantastic things with graphics. I'm always trying to copy the way you finish banners off but I never can *sux*. I'll have to try harder ^_~ If you're trying to make the Dante banner a little darker in it's theme, perhaps altering the Brightness/Contrast on him would give that sort of effect? I'm not sure, though, I don't feel like I should be advising you on what to do, haha. Ellerby
The Wallpaper Delta, I'm a huge fan of yours. I really admire your work and this piece really shouts your style. However, this particular wallpaper bothers me a bit. To start off, I really dislike the texture you put overtop of the image as a whole (that cross-stitch one which is a Photoshop default). I do like that pattern, but somehow I don't think it fits. I'd at least like to see the image without it anyway (if you still have the PSD form). The leaves. Guh. You and I must be the only ones on OtakuBoards you actually use that brush (I don't know why, either!). I'm not very fond of the colour you decided to use for the leaves on his jacket (which is really cool, by the way). I think if you did them in a lighter purple (maybe pink) then it would look awesome. The final thing I dislike is the text in the top right. The way you put it on an angle, although cool, doesn't really fit in my mind. I think if you just straightened it, it would look really good. Onto the things I like! The anime guy. Mmm, yes. I love how you changed the colours of his outfit and skin. That's really something I've been trying to figure out how to do for, oh I don't know, 3 months (hint hint). I really love the way everything comes together. The waves and the background look extremely good together and the small text on the right side looks really nice aswell. As for your banners. I'm not even going to comment. I'm still in that "OMG HOW DID SHE DO THAT?!?!?!" mood. Maybe I will drop by and comment on those once that emotion passes.
Where Delta posts her newest creations which you will look and nod at before hitting the Back button.
Yeah, I know that feeling. Nobody has posted in my art thread in quite a while so i keep having to edit my last post. :animecry:
