I don't really care if it's scientific or to do with "lighting conditions" or can't happen or whatever, but my eyes go darker and lighter too. I did hear about the hair "losing pigment" thing on a TV show though.

I've seen my eyes dark brown, like a black-brown colour, and it always seems to be when I'm angry, stressing out. But the rest of the time my eyes are a like a woody brown. If it wasn't for mum I wouldn't have ever known.. ha.

Since I've read the past five pages, I'm not going to say that I believe that eye color changes temporarily (though I never did). My eyes do APPEAR to change color, but only with the weather.

My moods usually just scare people away, and I'm not the type to look in the mirror constantly, so I don't know if they change with my moods.. though I doubt it.

Cloudy days make my eyes a silver color, which scares the crap outta people for some reason. Sunny days, my eyes are their "original" color; misty greenish blue. Rainy days, my eyes turn purple or deep blue. Strange how that works, eh?

But yeah, I still think that weather and light have to do with it. .. Yeah.

P.S. DW, you smarty pants. >=^O

Now, I didn't read everybody's post, and I'm hoping that this isn't a repeat of what anyone already said. It has to do with moods. Moods tend to be seen visibly in someone's face, do to certain contortions. These contortions affect the eyes, too. If the surface of your eyes bends a certain way, even from the pressure of eyelids, the curvature changes. This changes the way light is reflecting off of them, making it possible for a color change to be observed, perhaps even a consistent one if the facial expressions are similar. My eyes are brown, however, and I doubt anybody cares or notices if they become more or less brown, lol.

I will tell you people. Eyes CAN change temproaraly. Mine do. When I don't have my violet contacts in. My eyes are naturally blue, like a light navy blue. But when I get REALLY mad, they tunr BLACK. I don't mean my whole eyes I mean the iris. just the colored part. When I'm happy or in a good mood. They turn bright blue. When I'm sick or have a bad feeling they turn steely blue almost grey and when I"m thinking or got my mind on something really big, like a compotion or a big test or things like that than they turn like a aqua teal color. But I KNOW that MY eyes DO change color because I don't think lighting or blood across tha muscle can make that much of a diffrenece. And I know that they do bacuse I've seen them change. I was standing infront of my mirror after getting ina fight with my mom and dad about school and my grades and **** and they were black, than they SLOWLY turned downt the color factor and retuned to a dark blue than as I calmed down more and more they turned back to normal blue. So I know for a fact that mine change color, and my best friend can vouch for it too, because she saw it as well the day and ex-boyfriend of mine tried to start **** with her. She said that when I looked up at him form my seat my eyes were black and I looked like death warmed over. I actually thought that was pretty awsome...but anyway. I am with Heero on this. My eyes change colors.

I'll bet your cheeks turned from a bright red to their regular color, too, huh? It's the blood. You SAID that it wasn't, but where's your proof? What do you know that can support your claim? Nothing that you've shown us.

Your eyes only APPEAR to change color. They do not actually change color. It's not that hard to understand or accept, really.

Kitty my eyes can go from a emerald green to teal with little yellow flecks in them to navy blue to a nice hazel and over a matter of 10 minutes the color is so effected by my mood you see i am suffer from depression so i tend to have a rather large number of these changes per day i started notices back when i was in 5th grade school both me and my mom has the same eye colors so i find it personally wacked that some "moron in a lab coat" said that they can't change when i am living breathing proof. Oh ya most of the time hair has to been in the sun for at least a full day before any noticable effects and it's more effected by UV rays then genetics.

Thanks for all the feedback didn't think it would turn out like this!..Very cool

But I have one problem: and here it is:

Why the hell ask for proof on a subject like this!!! I mean there's no way in hell you can prove this sort of thing on the internet...I could put my self on here and show you a range of pictures with my eyes( but I don't have any..i'm not vain thanks!) which change colour...BUT!!! because of enhanced computer software noone would actually believe it because they just turn around and say things like...you used photoshot, or digital imaging or come up with a whole heap of notions to strike you down with...so why the heck ask such a dumb question!...anyone can turn around and say that their eyes change colour and show you pic's but then easily change the eye colour to make it look as though they do....I mean please...so stop with the asking for proof "BS" because would you actually believe it if someone did show their eye colour on the internet?..didn't think so!!!

By the way thanks Duo and Ugamon and everyone else.

Okay, I'm going to solve your problem. Your eyes change color metaphorically, it's more like the angle at which light makes contact with your eyes. More often than none, eyes that seem to change color are actually a unique shade of whatever color is natural to the person...when the light makes contact your eyes adjust to the level of light energy and this change in pupil size causes the light to reflect differently hence the angle at which you view allows the color to vary. I, personally, have eyes that react the same way, if you were to look at my eyes from time to time you would notice that I have a limited number of colors in which my eyes can appear. The same should be for you. Because my eyes are naturally deep hazel, my eyes can brighten to true hazel, brown, dark brown, black (when I'm sick), burnt sienna, and a dark shade of heather grey. Your eye colors should also be limited to whatever your shade can produce. Remember, different colors reflect different colors all light used to distinguish the color of eyes is white.
Hello this is rattlehead on the air!
badjesus is dead and buried and will never see you again.
to kick of with a fresh start here i thoght i'd just finish this topic off,
about ten messages ago I said that your eyes chage color due to light passing across the membranes on the eyeball and every one repeats me also check my message on racial backgrounds because there is no other scientific method of describing it my point is its a very simple notion.
Well I guess I should've read all of the posts.-lol- I guess all I did was go further in depth.
