Before I continue on with this story with my character, I think people need to pay attention to what others write. According to Keirra's last entry, the shadow demon is already dead. so until this issue is sorted out, my character will have no part in this story and no one is allowed to control her thank you.

OCC: Continuing from where sky left off.....

"What the heck was that?" Kyohen asked Arturos as he gasped for air.

"That was a control demon, master of shadowwolves, dont tell me youve never seen one...." Arturos replied calmly.

"Ive never even seen shadow wolves, I spend most of my time fighting in the desert!"

"Well, we need to get out of these tunnels and find the nearest town so we can heal our wounds," Raef responded.

"For those of ya who got wounds," Zaion added with a smirk.

They all continued through without any attacks until they finally reached a long sunny field. On the other side was a town, but it would be about an hours walk.

"Keep your eyes open for Cartiopters." Arturos stated.

"Carti who what?" Kyohen answered.

"There a kind of reptilian battler, with skin like stone, they nest in fields...."

"They're nasty characters," Shero walked up next to Kyohen. "I've run into them just before I got here, but it was only two. I couldn't use my weapons because their hides were so hard. I ended up having to use my physical strength to beat them."

Kyohen looked at her for a brief moment. Shero wasn't sure what he was thinking, probably the usually reaction to a girl having phyiscal strength, especially a human. Guess she was just going to have to show what she was really made of and why she was on this trip to begin with.

Shero turned her head to look at Arturos, a strange question suddenly in her mind. "For an 85 year old man, you sure are robust...how is that Arturos? Is there something you haven't told us about yourself or am I just wasting my thoughts on nothing?" Waiting for him to answer, Shero looked back at the others. They were pretty exuasted from the battle with the shadow demon and his wolves. They needed rest and proper food.

"well.... um..." Arturos began to speak, when suddenly a Cartiopter leaped from the tall grass and opened its mouth. Kyohen quickly tore his blade through its head. He could see several trails moving through the grass.

"everyone split up! Kamui, youre with me," Kyohen explained.

The two warriors quickly took off into the field, while the others seperated into groups. They had a hard time moving through the high grass, when they found a small area where the grass was only waist high.

"LOOK OUT!" Kamui screamed" Kyohen looked sideways to see a Cartiopter pounce on him and open its mouth to bite his head off.....

"Hey, quit fighting you two," said a voice from the tall grass, as the trio jerked in surprise, "We have enough to deal with already." Reaf stepped out of the grass, spear in hand.

"What are you doing alone?" Kyohen demanded, a bit annoyed that the Cathsheen hadn't paired off with someone.

"I was with Arturos, but he we got separated when two of those Cartiopters came after us in the tall grass. I'm not sure where he is," Reaf explained.

"I'm right here," Arturos said serenely.

Reaf nearly jumped his own hight. "Please don't scare me like that," Reaf said. How did an old man like him sneak up on me like that? he wondered.

"Sorry, but we must be careful." With that he turned back into the grass. Reaf turned and raised a quizzical eyebrow at the elves, and followed the old man.

Shero took her place next to Arturios, knowing the old man didn't really need her help, but it was better than being by yourself. She pulled a few of her knives from her pants and readied herself. Two of the lizard creatures flew from under the grass at her, she took two of her knives and threw it at their open mouths. They hit with almost perfect accuarcy, their bodies falling to the ground.

Shero deep a sudden deep breath and staggered back. She grabbed the amulet around her neck. It throbbed painfully against her chest. She turned wild eyes towards Arturios and then flashing them around towards the others. They were all lost in the battles with the Cartiopters.

"Kyohen, there's too many of them! We need to get to the village!" Shero shouted over the noise.

Reaf heard Shero's advice over the roar of battle, and so did Kyohen. "Right, everyone regroup. Shero, you take the point, Keirra and I will take the flanks, Reaf, you bring up the rear. Everyone else, stick close together!"

Reaf took up his position, took out his sling, and loaded a lead ball. He didn't need to wait long for a target. One of the stone-hide lizards leaped at him from the right, but stopped suddenly when the lead ball struck it on the head at a high velocity. The lizard dropped like a sack of potatoes. Reaf wasn't sure if it was dead, but didn't stop to find out. He looked ahead and saw several more Cartiopters drop dead, two with arrows sticking from soft spots, and another two with knives.

After several minutes of this, the lizards seemed to give it up, but the group kept moving, afraid, as Arturios pointed out, that they might try a more concentrated and concerted attack. "Has anyone been bitten?" Arturios asked. Everyone answered to the negative. "Good, the bite of a Cartiopter is quite deadly."

"They're poisonous?" Kyohen asked.

"No, but they are not only carnivores, they are also scavengers, feeding on rotting meat as well as fresh meat. A bite from them, the wound will fester, and the victim often dies a few days later from septic shock."

There was an uncomfortable silence after that. "I think I see the town," Shero called.

Arturios Sighed as the group entered the town gate, the guards bowed to the group as they passed but otherwise the city streets where abandoned. "Most unusual," the old man said he then pointed to the town square" lets stop there for a bit, then we will check the taverns" As they sat down around the trees and fountain of the square Arturios looked towards Shero, "You asked me a question earlier, Shero. You are right their is something about me that I haven't told you. but First do know about Kaydaeryn's history before the Wraithwind?"

The others shook their heads

"Well before Baaloth was imprisoned their where two ways of manipulating the Astral Plane, one was Magic, the other Psionic. Now the astral is not connected to this plane, so the Psions and Mages had to draw its power through a bridge plane. In the case of Magic, that plane is the Shadow Plane, for Psionics it is the Etherial Plane. When the Portal to Shadow was opened, Mages lost control of their art, The Psions however Did not, as they used the Etherial rather than Shadow"

Shero looked at Arturios critically, "What are you getting at?"

Arturios smiled, "I am a psion. Like mages we can extend our prime through our art, thats why I am so "robust" as you put it. Now lets go find that Tavern"

Kyohen saw a villaiger walking by.

"Excuse me sir, how many tavers are there in this town?" Kyohen asked.

"Eight"

Kyohen looked around. There were exactly 8 people in the group.

"I say we split up and search all the taverns. If you find one with medicines, tell the others."

"But how will we find each other?" Zaion pointed out.

Arturos pulled out a bulap sack, "Simple" he said and pulled out eight objects.

"What are those?" Raef asked.

"Whistles," Arturos explained. "I made them myself, simply put them in your mouth and blow, and they make a loud, high-pitched noice."

Each adventurer grabbed a whistle and set off in a different direction

As Kyohen walked through an alleyway he headr a loud crash. He turned around to see a burglar running down the street with a large bag of stolen goods. Kyohen quickly pulled out his bow and fired an arrow just missing the burglars head, severing a few strands of hair. He stopped running and turned around.

He screamed, "You ruined my hair!" then pulled out a blade at his side and began to charge.

Kyohen whipped his rapier from its sheith, slicing right through the enemies blade, then he stabbed him in the leg. He quickly called for a doctor than returned the stolen goods to the shop. He then renewed his tavern search.

Arturios sighed... whilst the others had all left for the taverns, he had remained in the square. His thoughts were interupted by the familiar tingle of a psionic message, sighing again he entered the depths of his mind to see whom of his colleges would be Psying him at a time like this...

OOC: Arturios is blue, the other person is red. italics are psionic speach

Yes? who's there?

Arturios shook his head as he stood up finally and made his way down the road... "now where are those taverns? I need a good strong Dragon's blood ale right now..."

Shero hesitated for a moment before making her way through the village to look for a tavern. She walked through the dirt streets, her head held high looking up at the signs annoucing the names of the taverns. She found a small sign saying "La Tavern". She shook her head and laught at the simplicity of the name. Tired of walking she entered the tavern, looking about the room.

It was small and crowded, but it would have to do. She could smell the ranke smell of mulitple races and the sweet smell of food and alcohol. She shoved past the people standing and sitting about, holding her sword close to her body. She slid onto a wooden bar stool and leaned against the polished wooden bar counter. She watched the bar tender and waitresses walk back and forth. The noise in the tavern was almost unbearable and she tried to focus on what she was going to order.

"Can I help you?" a man walked up to her from behind the counter.

"Yeah, I'll have your soup special and a tall glasses of whatever you got. Add a little cinniman to it while your at it." Shero replied in a rough and forceful voice.

The man nodded and was off to put in the order. She hunched over, pearing over her shoulder. There was no one in here that was going to be any help healing or giving her things to help heal the others. She was releaved that she managed to only receive a couple of bruises thanks to her leather outfit.

She watched a few more people enter the tavern. There were wooden tables with crowds of men sitting at them, harassing the waitresses as they walked by or severed them. Shero growled and turned her head away. There weren't many women in here that weren't working in some form. She shook her head at the whole ideal of it all.

She turned around to watch the man place her order in front of her, the soup steaming. She took from her pocket a few coins and placed it on the counter. The man quickly scooped them up and was off to take other orders. Shero began to sip at the soup, noticing that she had men on either side of her. She paid no attention to them as she began to fill her belly.

He noticed her as soon as she walked in. Tight leather always had a way of getting his attention. 'Don't get many women in here... I wonder where she's from.' he thought, as the man set down the bowl. Breifly, he wondered if he should go talk to her, 'Eh, why not?' He said to himself as he walked over.

'Hey,' he said, extending his hand with a smile, 'my names Kamui, what's yours?'

Shero looked over at the young man. He was attractive, but she tried not to think about that. She was here just to get something to eat and then she was returning back to the others to complete her task. She sighed deeply and extended her hand.

"Hello, Kamui, I'm Shero. Is there anything I can do for you?" she tried to keep her tone pleasant, yet tried to keep the thrill in this attractive male talking to her from the surface.

A man can only walk so long on barefoot, even if that man is Jarod Caine. He sighed deeply as made his way through town. All the hustle and bustle around wasn't making things easy though. He preferred his wild companions more than anyone remotely civilized. His somewhat shaggy appearance attracted some unwanted attention from passerbys, some hurrying to the other side of the street; others doing their best not to make eye contact. The only real "uncivlized" look about him was his barefeet, which had gathered not only a large amount of callouses, but were caked with mud, and his toenails were longer than most. He cared nothing about what others thought of him or his appearance. If he did...he would have realized that it wasn't his feet that bothered those that got a look at him...but his eyes. His gaze seemed to pierce through people, and he hardly noticed it most of the time.

He brushed his hair out of his face, having been sometime since he actually had the urge to cut it. His face, however, kept its smoothness, and never showed a sign of hair growth. He glanced up at a sign, La Tavern. ~Simple and to the point...perfect place for me.~

Jarod pushed the door open slowly, the smells practically smacking him in the face. Sweat, bad food, tolerable food, alcohol. The faint smell of sex wafting from upstairs...and just a hint of cinamon near by. He closed his eyes and walked in, letting the aromas fill his nose. A hand pushing hard into his chest, brought him out of his brief daze. He glanced done at the hairy wrist blocking his way, and the burly man in front of him that it was attached to. His other hand rested on the bar to give him added support to push him out. "No shoes. No Service. We don't serve the likes of you hear."

Jarod raised a slight eyebrow. He was used to such treatment. He might have even left without a word...if it wasn't for that last comment. Without so much as a blink, Jarod reached beyond him, grabbed ahold of one of his blade, and with one swift motion, slammed it into the bar...right between the man's fingers. A slight trickle of blood appeared next to the man's middle finger, Delos seeming to vibrate in proximity to it. Jarod smiled. "I suggest you get your hand off of me...or you'll lose that just as quickly."

The man stood there dumbstruck. He hadn't even seen Jarod move, and a crimson blade now almost severed his finger...maybe even his hand. The hand that had blocked Jarod now fell limply as he walked by, practically ripping the blade out of the bar. The bouncer stood there wrapping a towel around his flesh wound. Jarod began to notice that his little scene had attracted some unfriendly eyes, so he grabbed a mug of ale from the bartop and slipped to one of the tables in back. He slammed the ale back in one gulp, and his eyes scanned the room. Some of the waitresses made it a point to avoid his table, some pointed and whispered to each other. The other customers tried to hide their sidelong glances at him.

Then it hit him. He breathed in deeply. Something familiar, yet not. A smell...an aroma...an essence. He continued to take in the people around him...until his eyes fell on a female. He breathed in again...more deeply...savoring something. He noticed her chatting with some other male...but that quickly left his mind. There was something about this female...something familiar...something...unique.

While Shero was talking.over in the Kimball's tavern Kierra was taking a look at the menu when a very old man walked in.She thought that he might have what she was looking for.
So she walked up and said"Hi I am Kierra, What is your name?"
"That is not important"said the old man.
"Okay well I was wondering if you had any healing supplies I could buy?"she asked.
"I do"he said to her.
So she blew the whistle and it made an ear spliting noise that could make you go def. Everyone came rushing to the spot gasping for breath.

He took her hand, 'Shero?' he repeated, then, as if it had slipped out, 'beautiful name...' he had to smile as he caught himself.

'Actually, I was wondering if there was something I could do for you. No offense, but you don't look like you're from around here. If you're here to look for something, maybe I could help.'

(Before Keirra blew the whisle.)

Reaf was checking out another tavern, called The Mongoose Tavern. It was small but clean, the food smelled good (although by this time Reaf was hungry enough to eat anything that didn't move around his plate), and the bartender seemed nice enough. Unfortunately, the place was almost deserted, just three hard-looking young men, probably local toughs. Reaf looked the menu over, ordered some meat, noodles, and a glass of water.

Reaf ate his meal, but noticed a few comments from the toughs that were probably meant to be overheard. Reaf tried to ignore them, since a barroom brawl was not a good idea, especially since he still needed to heal. Still, he gripped his fork hard enough to turn his knuckles white. The bartender noticed, and told Reaf in an undertone, "If you're going to fight them, and I suggest you don't, do it outside." Reaf nodded, finished his lunch, and headed out. He heard the other occupants get up too.

Outside, one swung on him. He caught the blow, turned it aside, and used the man's momentum to throw him to the ground. Reaf faked at one, then lashed out at the other, kicking him in the knee. He felt a crack and knew it had broken. The third lunged at him, and suddenly everything began to slow down. Adrenaline rush, Reaf thought. He'd had them before. The man's fist slowly floated towards his head, but Reaf couldn't move fast enough to block it or duck it. The fist struck Reaf in the head and he saw a bright flash of light, blinding him, but shook off what would normally be a knockout blow, and just swung a hard right where he remembered the man's head was, made a solid conection, then waded into him as his eyesight came back. The whole fight took less that thirty seconds to complete. One too dazed to fight, one with a broken knee, and the first unwilling to continue fighting after being thrown down so easily.

Reaf heard a distant whisle, figured out which direction it came from, and started running.

Shero heard the sharp whistle in the distance and looked at Kamui. "That would be the others I'm traveling with. We are here for rest and medicine, if you can help than you may come along." Shero yelled above the crowd loud enough for the man in the corner to her hear. She may not have acknowledged the fact that he was watching her, but she knew he was.

Shero finished the last of her soup and drink, and left the "La Tavern", not looking back to see if either of the men were following her.

The shrill whistle pierced Jarod's eardrums and took him out of his slight daze, just quickly enough for him to catch the woman leaving the tavern. He shook his head to clear himself and tried to figure out what just happened. He had never felt such raw power before...and it intrigued him. ~I don't know about being able to help...but my curiousity has the best of me...~

He pushed himself away from the table and slowly made his way out of the tavern, the bouncer flinching back ever so slightly as he passed. Jarod smirked. When he was outdoors, his ears perked up slightly. ~Now where had that whistle come from?~ He tried to judge the best he could, and headed off, noticing that even among the crowd, there were several others seemingly looking for that same whistle. He kept his distance, having lost the female in the crowd, but continued to follow the others that were no doubt headed in the same direction.

"Aug!" Kyohen screamed as the whistle pounded his brain.

"Crazy old man and his freaky inventions"

He took off down the street as fast as he could, his arm was bleeding badly, but he didnt notice until he bumped into someone and felt a strong sting that made him yelp in pain. He continued running knocking several people down without caring. One man fell and somene stepped on his leg, causing him to scream out in pain. Kyohen found this hilariouse and began laughing uncontrolably until he reached the origin of the deafining sound, and saw Keirra.

"You found someone?"
