Albel the Wicked
I was just having a thought, which came to me five minutes ago. Most people have their display name after something famous. The question is, do you ever try to act like the person that your name is after. I've tried for a while to act like Captain Jack Sparrow, savvy? How about you guys? Mykul
i dunno...i just try to act with a mixture of politeness, tolerance, and professionalism, because MehrLicht were beethoven's last words.
TheShinje
I've never acted like Sir Suron, that'd just be wierd... "Ga...I mean, Sir Auron, could you pass the salt?" "sure thing mom, now that you call me by my ub3r cool SCREE NAME! *plots world domination* "son, now what have I told you about using emotive asterisks at the table?" "Gah, sorry Dad," If I were to go by my screenname, I'd have picked an ub3r cool one, like Thor, or Sonic blaster, or Shinji.
LizerisCnh
Heh, since I made up this name by abbreviating my famly members' names and tacking my own initials onto the end, I'm not obligated to fulfill any sort of standard. I'm known best for my seamless concoction of professionalism, enlightenment, satire, and all around unorthodoxy. You can say I've made a name for myself. Three years of diligent indifference to social normality has earned me this. They banned me in January, by the way, and that's a chocobo. :tasty:
chobit
My name is simply named after my favourite anime, but minus the 's'.Why?'Cause I felt like it. But to answer your question,I don't go walking around acting like a super computer.
Guest Sean
...Icarus2K. So that means i have to act like some guy who in Roman History tried to fly but the sun burnt his wings away, but in the year 2000.....complicated. No i don't think people act like the name of themselves here. My newly ordered screen-name 'Reise' will be arriving soon, haha. But does that mean i shall act like Rammstein songs, i most certainly hope not. But it all depends, what if you act all those ways anyway. Say i was an extremley polite person, giving out great manners and respect. And i had the screen-name St. Anger, then people would think i am generally agressive and wear black all of the time like some sort of..moooooooooosher, haha. But also may i add, Metallica Rock \m/
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. To be absolutely honest I'm actually not a hundred percent on where I got my latest username from. I think I chose it on a bit of a whim a few months ago in an AIM conversation with James but the reason behind it eludes me. The obvious answer would be to say it's from the WWF (or whatever it's called now) wrestler, however I'm almost sure that that's not where I thought it up. I had a school teacher called Mr. Kane so it's possible the name came from there, it's also possible it's a variation on the name Cain from the Bible. Perhaps in the end it's all three but Kane I am, and Kane I shall stay.
Xander Harris
Well, if I was like Xander, I'd be dating an ex-vengeance demon, which is dangerous to your health ;) Actually, now that I think about it, I guess I do sort of share a few of his traits: a love of pop culture and a somewhat bizarre, sarcastic sense of humor. Other than that, no, I just pulled the name of the first fictional character that came to mind :-)

Inari
Hmmm..... I don't go by Inari. That would be weird and hard for people to remember. I think I choose the name while flipping through a mythology book. Inari was a moon/rice goddess of Japan. I'm not even really sure why I picked this name. Oh well. When my little brother was in the first grade he insisted on being call "Capitan Kirk," like on Star Trek. He had two friends who went by "Data" and "Spock." They even signed their homework papers with these aliases. It was kind of amusing.
Guest ZaKuRa-Chan
personaly, it would be wierd to act like sakura...i name my self sakura,i just put a Z to make it my own...but yeah, it would just be plain wierd, i just like the name cuz its my real name, uh, translated in english :D
Pumpkin
I got my name Pumpkin from.....I don't know where. It just came to me. It's also a girl's nickname in a Japanese Geisha book I read, its one of my favorites. Plus Pumpkin just sounded cute....completely spure of the moment thing. InuyashaLvr
Well.... I really hope I'm not just like Inu-chan! lol. I dont wanna kill neone! Unless of corse it's Kikyo and Kagome *plots revenge* BWAHAHAHAHA *cough* sorry. But I usually sign my name on my posts... well sometimes... But the main reason I picked InuyashaLvr as my screename is because I am an obsessive fan! hehe ^^ I've been a fan of Inuyasha for about 2 or 3 years now.. One of em! lol. Well..yeah... that's my answer! :D Evil Kiyko and Kagome Killer, *-. Savannah .-*
Godelsensei
'Tis rather hard not to act like your username when you invented it. I act like my custom title, if anything, what with constantly having to explain milk bags to Americans and whatnot. Psh.
Dagger
I act like my custom title, if anything, what with constantly having to explain milk bags to Americans and whatnot. Psh.[/FONT']
*blushes* Er... what's a milk bag? I'd be a little frightened if everyone here behaved like the people, things, places, etc. from which their usernames were swiped--some characters just weren't intended to be role models, after all. ~Dagger~
Godelsensei
*blushes* Er... what's a milk bag?
Travel to myO and you shall find the information you seek, Skippedry-chan. Sol-Blade
Heh, well I can't really act like my screenname, Sol-Blade...the best longsword in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I mean seriously...come on. I can't summon meteors down from the sky with one swipe of my...body? Getting around would be hard, not to mention akward. Everytime I have to go out, got to ask one of my friends if they can carry me around. Maybe i'll let them swing me around and threaten people in return. The worst part would have be dressing in the same clothing each day...that generic black sheath. Sigh...
Panda
Just a quick reminder to use proper grammar, capitalization and punctuation when responding to a thread. Hmm, do I try to go by my screen name? My screen name is my nickname and sometimes, especially on myO, I joke about being a panda but that is about it. I have been on message boards where people have adopted the "personality" of their screen name. Most of those seem to have very agressive posts and find their accounts banned fairly quickly. I assume they are doing this as a way to expressive themselves in a way they can't in their everyday life.
Beorhun
Alright, so...do I try to go by my name on the otakuboards? Or online in general? Well, there are a lot of people in the world who have my name, there's about seven people in my school alone, so it just plain baffles me to think of how many people in the world go by the name k- sorry. To get back to my point, however, it may or may not be a good idea to go about the internet, or even Otakuboards, throwing your name around, for a few reasons, many of them are self contained and fairly self explanatory. Besides, I just though of this name after staring at the blank, white wall behind my computer for a while. But to answer your question...no, no I don't go by my real name online. ;)
Che
Do I act like my screen name? Hmmm. I don't think I act like Mai. I've said a couple things that she's said though. Anyways. But I like to act like my character from .Hack//TRUTH, Sakura. I've actually based Sakura on myself. Loud, annoying, a trouble maker. Its very fun to play her and fun to make up trouble for her to cause. ^_^
Black Moon
Well, I think it might be a bit hard for me. ^_^;;; It might be dreadfully hard to be a moon. A black one at that. But I'm not sure what caused me to go by "Black Moon", but I know it was a good choice. Now I use it everywhere, or a form of it. Like on other forums, I'm Black Moon or Black_Moon. My penname for my Inuyasha fanfics on fanfiction.net and mediaminer.org are Black-Moon-Goddess. So, in a way, I do act like my name. ^_^;;; If you like Inuyasha fanfics you can chek me out a http://www.fanfiction.net/~blackmoongoddess. Or at www.mediaminer.org with the name of Black-Moon-Goddess. ^_~
BlueYoshi
Well, I'm a very active and athletic person, and I'll do anything that'll make my adrenaline go rushing through the roof, so that should explain the Ninja part in my name... probably. The thing is, though, I've been that way since the day I was born, so in a sense, you could say that my username tries to be more like me, if that makes any sense. As for the Wingnut part, I'll let you decide. I'm personally fond of Shinmaru's description: "What are you? Some kind of ninja with flying balls?". Oh the possibilities.

DeathKnight
*looks at username* Hmm. Well... I mean, I suppose. Eh? Nah. No, no. I don't think I often act like a Death Knight. Murder, pillage and destruction are capital offenses if I remember right. So.. of course I wouldn't do things like that. ...muhahahaha...
Bullet Theory
My username is based on my favorite song by Slipknot. It would be kinda hard to act like "The Nameless"...but it would be interesting. I think I'll try it on Monday at school.
