I take it you're talking about the second PS2 game, which isn't yet released in the US...? If not, there's already a thread on the first game, which can be found here. Please use that thread for discussing the first Fullmetal Alchemist game on the PS2, and this one for talking about the second game. *edits title*

Great another FullMetal Alchemist game, but i'm looking forward to it Broken Angel was a dissapointment to all the FMA fans but this Ps2 installment, I'm confident it will be great, the only 4 reason the people did'nt like the Broken Angel.

1. bad graphics, realy flat places
2. the use of alchemy wasn't all great (actually not evan close to that)\
3.having Al was cool but he was limited on the stuff he can do that blows.
4.the game itself is really poor (sorry had to say it)

But this game is made by square-enix the people that made Final Fantasy, and other great games, if they can make those kick *** games, they can do the same with this one.

The game looks very good, the cell shading looks a lot better than the crap they tried to pull with the 3-D Ed model -_-....

It does look really great, the plot line sounds interesting as well. I hope its more challenging than the first one though, so It'll take me longer than a day to beat it.

I wouldn't buy it just because it's FMA ~_~ The first one was horribly disappointing. I probably won't buy the second one unless I can rent it or try out a demo or something first. ( I work at EB and pre-ordered the first one... I was totally excited about it cause I totally heart the FMA series and after it ended I wanted more so I figured I'd play the game~ but then I got ahold of a demo while I was at work. I played it for like.... 2 minutes, stopped, walked over and took my money off it and put it on something else... it was just that bad).

I hear the second game is supposed to be a lot better, but I haven't played it or anything (thought about importing it, but I went and bought something else instead).
Has anyone here played the Japanese version? Care to give a review?

Then again, I mostly just hate it because of the English voice over ^^; and, even if the 2nd game is alright, I probably won't buy it for that reason. The English dub makes my ears bleed *flails* It would be great if they allowed you to choose English or Japanese voice for it.

There are just a few other games coming out the month before or month after that seem better and I'll probably buy those instead.

you know, choosing between English and Japanese audio is a GREAT idea(this is one thing I like about the .hack games). I mean, I seriously think Ed's Japanese voice is perfect for the game. I mean, show-wise, I like both dubbed and Japanese, but in the game, whenever Ed says one of his little quotes, it gets sooooo annoying. And this is coming from an Ed fan.
Al, in the first one (obviously) was so disappointing, an AWFUL partner. He didn't fight when I wanted him to, and sometimes if an enemy was right there, he would walk off somewhere else. He can't dodge, so a couple of times, I had to revive him after he lost all of his HP. The graphics are awful, 3-D like, and Al, especially, runs like an idiot, not to mention slow. Probably doing alchemy and the cutscenes are the best part, since the fighting is pretty bad and I also couldn't stand the music. Why can't they put in the shows themes instead.
hopefully, the next game will be better with the cell-shading, like they did in Zelda Windwaker (but not the same art), since Ed will look more like his anime self. It was either for this game or another FMA one in Japan, but Al can do alchemy and I think you can take control from either of the two brothers (hallejuliah). I hope the audio's an option and Al actually HAS intelligence in this one. I'm sorry if I mistook the info I put on if it belongs to another game of the series, but I heard that a while ago, so I can't remember.
Also, I think they made the first game short so that you would play it again to unlock all the graphics and movies. That doesn't make much sense, does it? All I know is that they probably ripped off people with the game, knowing most wouldget it cuz they're fans and have high hopes for it. Evil marketers.

You have questions and I have answers!

First of all, the game will directly follow the anime, starting with Cornello, ending with
. Anyway, from what I've heard this game actually won't suck. Game informer said that it is much better than the first game, but still not great. RPGamer said that it is a really great game and is worth buying for FMA fans.

Awww man, a spoiler, :animecry: I wish I saw the rest of the anime, but they keep freakin startin it over again on cartoon network.

Yeah, I heard that it wouldn't suck either. I heard that there are a few new features. For example, it is now cell-shaded, and there are two new characters that you can play as. And I think I read somewhere that you get a little better control over Al.

(P.S.: :D ThoraxtheImpaler, I like your signature)

oooooooooohhhh, ok(duh). :animesmil

so uh 7.3 huh, I hope it will be good, I usually don't trust ratings though, cuz the people on xplay were review the new inuyasha fighting game, and the huuung it big time, (they kept thrwing a ball across the screen and making inuyasha chase it.)

And I don't think they liked the last full metal alchemist game. :animeangr

Xplay wasn't nesecarily insulting the new Inuyasha game, they were just joking around. I found it quite hilarious. In fat, that preiew has me sold for the game.

And no, they definetally didn't like the origional FullMetal Alchemist game, but thats because it sucks.

I have confirmed that you ONLY control Ed, though Al is with you. Also, Mustang, Hawkeye, and Armstrong will join you at certain times.

weeellllll......compared to teh new full metal alchemist game i guess it does suck a little, but i still thoguht it was really good.

and i thoguht some parts where they made fun of inuyasha were funny, but some, they just hung the anime over and over again, it got a little annoying, cuz i really like the anime.

That preview also made me want the game, but i think it was only because i never saw gameplay to it before.
