Is there a game out there that could have been great, just that little bit away from being good but It was held down by its flaws or bad AI or anything that can bring a game down.

Yes, I mean the games that are bad but could have been good if, for example, they had a different crew working on it. One game that comes to mind when you mention this, Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories on PSX. The game was okay at first but I eventually noticed the cheap AI, lack of rules, poor animation and terrible gameplay but If they just picked up these flaws, fixed them up and It would be great.

Are there anymore games that you think flaws bought down to the grade of Shizien? I will accept any ones opinions.

Oh I got one: Fable

Now don't get me wrong, I have loved every minute of playing it. I think it is one of the best games to ever hit the XBox. But, simply put, the story was weak and way...WAY...too short.

To sum up what im talking about:

The main story: Your hometown and your family is destroyed and you are trained to be a hero and seek revenge.

The Twist: Your mother and sister are still alive.

The real Twist: You can do it all in under 10 hours...pretty sad for an RPG.

But the game is really awesome, and is so good that the shortness really doesn't bother me that much because I love restarting and playing characters over and over again because the character customization is really deep. Actually...wait...there's another flaw.

Granted, character customization is deep, but not in the way you think and I thought. You start the game as the same white, blue eyed, black haired, 5ft tall kid. But a kid that, once grown up, will look completely differnent from say...your friend's version. So while you can't really choose who you start with, you can really go indepth with him in your adult years.

Oh wait, another thing I was unsatisfied with. About 10 minutes into the game, I saw a screen reading "Do you want to proceed into your Teenage Years?". What the?! I have just started the game and already we are jumping that far forward?!?!

Reluctantly, I said yes. Okay, now im older and I look it. Still can't really change anything about your character yet. A few more training sessions...and this screen pops up: "Are you ready to advance into your Adult Years?". Man, I muttered a few words I can't mention here (:D) and hit yes. So now, I've propelled forward from age 9 to 17 in half an hour. Fun fun fun!

Okay, I read some of the stuff I have posted and it looks like im flaming the game (Hell, I am pretty much...) but let me say this, the Adult Years are so in-depth, so many things to do, so many things to see, so many things to collect, and so many ways to change your look (<---which I easily spent hours doing aside from my original 10, it apparently is fun playing dress-up!) and so many ways to go about the game.

To review, the main quest may take you only a few hours to beat...but if you really don't take the time to play and discover all the things the game has to off you really won't get much more than those 10 hours. I've beaten the main quest at least 4 days ago, but I am still playing the game (Around 40+ hours clocked now...) and love it.

Oh, one more thing worth mentioning. The game may give you the choice of being good or evil, but the game ultimately wants you to be good, at least the first time through at least. I tried being evil, but everytime I came across enemies I had to defend myself. Every kill you get nets you good points so I had to be evil almost 24/7 to stay in the evil range. It also doesn't help that you can switch alignments almost on the dime by going to each sides temple's respectively. Donate some cash to Avo (Good God), instant goodness. Sacifice some people to Skorm (Bad God), pure evilness handed to you on a silver platter. Kinda lame don't you think?

Something else I found funny, the names of the locations aren't really that original. I first ventured into the forest of Greatwood, then into the dark forest of Darkwood, then I went to an island with a forest named Witchwood. Interesting...

But overall good game, and I will finish with this: Love the game for what it is, not what it was hyped up to be and you will have a damn good time.

9/10-Unfinished feel...definitely.
