[COLOR=SlateGray][SIZE=1][CENTER]A long, long time ago, countless spikes were thrust into the chaos of the ocean, and on these spikes, semi-flattened spherical Worlds appeared.
Two of these Worlds were in direct [B]opposition[/B] to each other. There were Gods who tried to protect the Worlds, and there was an evil clan that tried to remove the spikes with supported the worlds.
If the World of the Gods prevailed, the result would be peace. If the World of the evil clan prevailed the result would be [B]annihilation[/B]. And yet another World continues to this day.

"They say that 5,000 years ago the red Dragon God, [B]Sweefede[/B], cut the evil Ruby-Eyed King, [B]Shabranigdo[/B], into seven pieces. Then, buried the pieces in seven different places, some right here in this area." a young red head poke to her blond companion, jabbing at some food with her fork before continuing.
"Sweefede, knowing he would sink to the bottom of the chaotic ocean at the end of the battle, feared that the evil King would be revived. So he created the Dragon King of Land, the Dragon King of Sky, the Dragon King of Fire and the Dragon King of Water, and he placed them in charge of the East, West, South and North respectively," she took a breath and raised the fork to her mouth, making sure that her partner was still following her history lesson,
"One thousand years ago the Dragon King's fear became reality. One of the Seven pieces of Shabranigdo was revived....by taking over the body and soul of a human being.
After a long, hard struggle, the evil King overthrew the Dragon King of Water who ruled the North. But his body was bound to the Earth and he became immobile.
And...." another pause as the girl ate, she swallowed and continued, " This world, which had been at peace, was suddenly thrown out of balance. Creatures crudely known as beasts of darkness began to appear...and...."

At the pause, the blond boy in front stepped in, wanting to find out more, "And? So why do we have to learn about Orihalcon?"

The red head sighed and stabbed at some more meat, continuing yet again, "Well, because Orihalcon is a material originally composed of the broken nails, skin and blood that flowed from the Dragon God, Sweefede, when he was fighting the evil King. Get it? The biggest spike of all is stuck into this land somewhere." looking over at her friend's plate, the girl made a jab for his meat, pulling it towards her as she spoke,
"So how we deal with this will determine what happens to our World!"

Her friend laughed softly, attempting and failing to reclaim his meat, "So, you're gonna pull it out..."

"It's not that simple!" the girl snapped, "Anyways, Orihalcon holds the key to my question."

[I]Hmm...key to her question....[/I]

"And not only that!" the red head stood, striking a pose.

[I]Not only [B]that[/B]? I bet she's after treasure again.[/I]

"So let's go find information on Orihalcon!" with that, the girl picked up her cloak, pain the bill and walked from the Inn, making her way in to the town, closely followed by her blond companion...in search of power, money...and food!

[SIZE=1][COLOR=DarkSlateGray]Well, it's quite amazing how much you can get from 3 pages of The Slayers manga, wow!
If you know the Slayers storyline....well, it helps but doesn't matter since this won't really follow it ^_^ actually, it won't follow it because I can't remember everything that happens myself!

Right, I'll play the red head, Lina Inverse, I will need someone to play her best friend (the blond), his name is Gourry.
Now, if you know nothing of him but want to play the main male lead, then PM me and I'll get you some info.

The other two characters that [I]need[/I] to be filled are;

[B]Zelgadis Graywords[/B]- Zelgadis is a formidable foe and a powerful sage, well versed in the arts arcane, In addition to his sorcerous prowess, he is also a skilled swordsman, on par with the greatest, and he's powerful enough to fight Gourry to a draw. As if this wasn't enough, he also appears to be a magical creature hewn from animated stone.

[B]Amelia Weir Tesla Seyruun[/B]- Self proclaimed "Ambassador of Justice," Amelia idolizes Lina. She is very headstrong, and acts on impulses more than rational thought. Amelia unknowingly does the one thing to Lina that is unforgivable- steals her thunder!

Here's some Gourry stuff anyway- [B]Gourry Gabriev[/B]- Gourry is a former mercenary that has become a force for good. He is a great companion for Lina...always there when she needs him, and always ready to protect her. Armed with the Sword of Light, Gourry is a strong warrior ready to take on any task...as long as that task doesn't involve too much thinking, that is.

Why am I not playing the cool [B]male[/B] character (Zelgadis) as I usually do, you ask? Simple, I felt it was unfair to steal the cool guys from the real guys all the time, hehe, maybe I should start playing my own gender again XD

I'll post spells and other info in an Underground thread if I get enough people interested, send any questions to me by PM and I'll see what I can do.
Ah yes, original characters are allowed, but I don't want too many, max is 3 and I really want the main positions to be filled.

Personality: Generally a cold, heartless, and serious person, Zelgadis doesn't care for anyone or anything. He also avoids people, especially large crowds. This may be due to his sensitivity concerning his appearance. He will also stop at nothing to attain his goals and uses other people, whether they are enemies or allies, to do so.

Bio: Zelgadis grew up as an aspiring young swordsman, constantly trained himself to be stronger. His grandfather/greatgrandfather(??) offered to make him stronger and Zel was eager to, not knowing the price he would have to pay. He was turned into a chimera, a mix of human, golem, and demon. He did become stronger in both physical and magical capacities...but at the cost of his human form.

Years went by after his transmutation while he constantly trained himself even more not only in the way of the sword, but also in various magics such as black, white, and Shamanism, which he excels at. But he also journeyed around to search for a cure to turn him back to human form.[/COLOR]

Age: I've seen the entire serise, watched all of the movies, read all the manga, and I've even started the novels and I still don't know Gourry's age.

Personality: A basic air head that never thinks anything through and forgets almost everything. He can't retain knoledge, but is very protective of Lina even though she constantly beats him.
Bio:When Lina Inverse destroyed the Dragon no Kiba (Dragon's Fang) gang, and was later encountered by a small array of vengeful bandits, Gourry Gabriev jumped in to save her. Though Lina appreciated the offer, she initially opted against accepting Gourry as a bodyguard, but Gourry's big-brotherly nature prevented him from acting otherwise. Gourry, dense as a brick, saw Lina as a younger girl in need of protection, and thus, he offered it.

Gourry is the owner of the most powerful sword known to man, the mysterious Sword of Light. The Sword of Light channels its users intentions into energy, usually taking the form of a gleaming blade of light. Gourry has learned how to utilize the sword's energy in different forms, though, most notably the power of swinging it quickly downwards to form energy beam projectiles.

Gourry is the swordsman of the group, and acts the role very well. He's single-minded in his protection of Lina, and even after helping Lina defeat Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu, he has resolved to follow Lina around wherever she goes. Supposedly, he has nothing better to do, and perhaps still sees himself as her guardian.

Okay, this will be using a semi-chapter system. I won't really give any plot line to the chapter, just were we are and who is posting. Eventually, we won't need that because everyone will be together.

So, we'll start off with just Lina and Gourry, basically where I left off in the sign up back-story.
Next we meet Zel, who's first a bad guy, and then after we find out about the real Rezo and defeat Shabranigdo, we meet Amelia.

Now, I can't remember the whole storyline, so there will be a lot of winging it, who knows, we may get bored and make our own adventure![/SIZE][/COLOR]

Oh, if you're gonna start an underground thread, I can help since I was bored one night and I compiled ALL the spells used in the three main TV series including their name, incantations for some, and their effects.

And maybe you should add Sylphiel to the original signups if you want someone new to take that role.

I think it's best if we start off with what all of us Slayers fanatics know, but it may be pretty cool if we continue into our own storyline.

It's about as good as the previous two series, though the focus is more on Lina and Filia. Ah well...

And once you set up the Underground thread, I can post every spell I managed to get from the three main series as well as the various short movies. I already have them sorted by magic type except for various unusual/summoning spells. (like golems, curses, etc.)

[b]Personality[/b]: A guy that seems to be extremely calm during any type of situation. A gentlemen, and one that sways away from trouble, although trouble always finds him. But in those bloody battles that are fought, there seems to be a change in personality. Having somewhat of an evil aura swaying around him, but what can always be noted is the sudden seriousness in his eyes.

Mizu is a boy that comes from a long line of swordsmen and shamanist, ranging from many types of magic. It is said that the generations of the Kodomo go down as early as the battle between Shabranigdo and Sweefede, but of course, it is only rumored. While the years have rolled down to him, there was a certain weapon passed down from generation to generation (Each child having only one off-spring). This weapon was known as Akuchigiri, a cursed duel kodachi that one of the Kodomo had foolishly taken and tainted even further.

The curse of the weapon is that if its thirst for blood is not satisfied in a certain amount of time, the blades begin to drain the life from their caretaker. Like all curses, there is away to break them, and this weapon holds no exception. In order for this curse to be up-lifted, Shabranigdo must be fully destroyed.

This is the curse that sways over the head of Mizu, it being passed down from both his parents of whom were killed by these blades. He was an only child when growing up, and was trained by his father in how to use duel weapons. His mother on the other hand, would be the one to thank when it came down to his mediocre understandence of magic.

But seeing both his parents die in front of him fueled some form of anger and determination in him. So, with the skills he has been training to build up, he has been known to travel the world in search of the pieces said to have come from the Ruby Eyed King. Mizu?s mission? Of course to up-lift the curse that has been bestowed upon his family.
