Cahoots34
A few thoughts on a subject I have too many thoughts on: Gundam Wing: My all-time favourite. Compelling characters, intricate plot, cool mecha and intriguing, if often labyrinthine, aspects of political and martial theory. Bonus: Yaoi speculations G Gundam: All of the drama of Gundam Wing (with almost none of the attempted intellectualism). Despite a fairly standard "destroy evil, save the world" formula populated with an unintenionally amusing array of cultural stereotypes (A haughty and effinate Frenchman wielding a phallic symbol and a bunch of flowers? How strikingly original.*), it's a highly entertaining adventure, if not always in the way it's meant to be. Bonus: Skintight bodysuits (Major source of humour. Can't figure out why that wasn't continued in later series.) SD Gundam: Compund intolerance of both CGI and overwhelming cuteness prompted me to skip this entirely. Can I assume I haven't missed anything too spectacular? Bonus: That moment of embarrassed silence among mech fans whenever it's mentioned aloud (Also v. funny, even for a mech fan like myself.) Gundam SEED: Even for a franchise as shamelessly commercial as Gundam, this was a bit transparent. I felt that quite a bit of potential was left unexplored for the sake of the plot's marketability. Bonus: The knowledge that entertainment value and originality (or lack thereof) will never stand in the way of consumerism (Er, yay?) Sadly enough, I'm hardly knowledgeable enough about the rest to make any comments (not in the company of people who know what they're talking about, anyway). I've either not watched them (Zeta, A-Turn, V) or was a bit too young to appreciate them when I did (0080, 0083, etc.). Any specific reccomendations? *My French relatives found him absolutely hilarious, though.

Hayama
The Gundam series I have acutally seen are SEED, Wing, G, 08th MS team and SD. Wing is awesome! I think it's the best one of all. I love the five pilots. Quatre is my favorite because he seems so innocent but he fights just like the rest of them. The pilot I like the least of the five is Wu Fei because he just doesn't stand out to me for some reason. I love Gundam SEED too. Kira and Athrun are so cool and cute. At first I hated Lacus because she was such a ditz but then she came around and was such a strong character. I love it when she confronts Athrun and asks him what he's fighting for. G Gundam isn't my favorite but I think it's okay. I don't really like any of the characters but I used to watch it after school. Cartoon Network cut it off right when
Rain (the girl) was captured and being absorbed by some machine I think
That SUCKED. I at least wanted to know what happened! I hate SD. It's like gundam for kindergarteners. I hate it that the humans are CG too and I think it's baiscally plotless. It reminds me of transformers (but transformers is even better than SD!) because the annoying kid hangs out with the robots. Last but not least... there's 08th MS team. For some reason, I LOVE this series! Shiro is soooooo cool and I actually think the girl (Aina) is pretty cool. I love the way Shiro insists that his team adopts the concept of coming back ALIVE. He doesn't want heros, he wants loyal soliders who value thier own lives too. But he does some pretty dumb stuff too! Going out in that crappy ball in the first episode to rescue someone. Or when he tried to fight underwater. What about HIM coming back alive? He's such a reckless idiot, but he's dedicated to his team. I love the way he's always complaining that the jungle is so hot. LOL So there you have it! My favorites (in order) are Wing, SEED and 08th
Kazuhirou
I absolutley loved Gundam Wing and really enjoyed 08th MS Team. Some of my favorite anime series ever, as a matter of fact. Kenji
My favorite Gundam would have to be Gundam Wing mostly because it has complex characters. The characters are shown many different ways and change as the story progresses. Probably the best part of it is it's ideals of wars that are started and how peace can truly be obtained. Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz would be my second since it shows how the earth and the colonies coexisted after the war. It kept the same characters but the action was more limited. I think the coolest thing about it was the recreation of the gundams and how they became more detailed and lifelike such as Wing Zero's wings with feathers, and how Deathsyth looked more like a deathgod. Gundam Seed would have to be my third since it has a similar storyline to Wing, but it shows how prejudice can lead others to want to annhilate anothers race. The characters are placed into awkward positions and it shows how the war not only affected the army but also everyone else. G Gundam would be my fourth because the storyline is interesting as seeing they have gundams from each country. But was was really interesting was that the gundams were similar to the fighter. Such as if the fighter was all muscle so would the fighter. It made it interesting to see how these people actually had to train to fight in the gundam where as in all the others you just had to be intelligent enough to pilot it.
