Tempo - manga idea

Nasawa High School is suddenly in an uproar ? and for a good reason. A group of girls have suddenly shown up, and their reputation has preceded them. The popular girl band ?Jiju-Beat? has stopped making records for a while, and the girls are now attending high school.

Paiko: the 15-year-old choreographer and lead singer of Jiju-Beat, she?s funny, fun, and ever popular. All the girls want to be her friends, and the guys? well, you understand.

Taga: the oldest of the band, at 17, and the quietest, Taga professes in keyboard. Her fast-flying finger action impresses even the best, and she?s no less popular then Paiko. Her soft, vibrant harmonies match Paiko in skill and feeling.

Isu: the 14-year-old American girl, and the goofy-girl type, Isu is impressive to say the least. Her talent with the drums is amazing, and she can do some of the hardest moves when she dances.

Lyllix: sexy, sweet sixteen, raven-haired Isu is more sought-after than Paiko. She plays guitar, and sometimes (when the group has a band playing for them) can pull off any move Paiko throws at her. Her own voice is heard on the groups CD, and she puts as much power into her singing as the rest.

As the girls struggle through public high school, they get a real taste of bullies, hunks, jocks, and preps. Along with it is a fair share of Goths and techno-punk obsessors.

Paiko?s grades seem to be deteriorating, and Lyllix is a little to obsessed with her math teacher. Taga becomes the most popular, despite her quiet disposition, and no one is ready when the Isu gets a boyfriend. The kids at Nasawa high school are soon introduced to the real side of the nasty, sexy Jiju-Beat, and it wasn?t what they were expecting.

So what do you think? This manga I am actually drawing(yes, I am), and if I ever get a scanner, or figure out how to get the camera to behave, I will show you. ^_^ Can you give me feedback on the idea? Also, check the Anthology soon for the full plot and story. ^___^

*Note: Jiju-Beat (the girls) are supposed to be nasty and feral, sexy and wild. The real girls are different.
In my opinion that sounds like a great unique story... I would buy it anyways...
I don't visit this forum nearly enough, sorry I missed this when you first posted it >_< I think this is a very good idea, it's definitely got promise and I don't think there's anything else out right now that has the same sort of theme. (Though I could be wrong, hey, it happens.)

The girl?s descriptions are very good, I like the way each of them are different yet they seem to compliment each other.
Also, I like the way you've given them split personalities of a sort.

If you stick at this (unlike me) then this should be really good. I can't wait to see, watch out for me drawing fanart of the characters mwaha!

Fan art? Cool! To bad I don't have a scanner. Ihave one picture of them as chibis (not the tiny cutsey ones, but just minis), and it would help you draw them, I guess. ^^ All I'm having trouble with is drawing them mor ethan once, and getting an idea for how to start.

Interesting ideas, Rhian. It would show quite some promise once you get started. In my opnion, perhaps you should start at the beginning, maybe where students of Nasawa High School are gossiping/talking to each other about the new students that are going to arrive soon. Then they arrive and you can really kick it off from there.

But regardless of how you want to do this, it's a lot easier if you outline or script what you want to draw first. That way, you already have a basis when you draw and you won't have to worry about what this character will say or what that character will do.

Best of luck, (and skill ^^ )

That comment right there can add an extreme amount of depth to the plot. Since one would probably take in how girls tend to care more about school and social life then males.

As Methuselah has stated, the story, plot, and characters are certainly unique. And I second that motion, I'm really sure there isn't anything like yours out there.

You've done a great job on making the characters, their personas and designs unique and still have them reflect upon each other. Making it easy for other's to understand their relations with each other.

From what I've read so far, the character Lyllix sounds really awesome to me.

There is only one probably I can find, which would be in relation to the fact that they are, correct me if I'm wrong, but former stars and no longer making CD's. It'd probably bring up many problems with publicity. Or would the rumors and type of school be taking care you that?

I'd really love to see the character designs brought out and shown. *Pokes Methuselah.* She won't be the only one doing Fan Art.

Anyway, good luck with your ideals. Best of luck and I hope you get it set in motion.

I live not to far from a girl who can draw so good! I just know she is going to be a pro artist for graphic novals and etc. As of now she is working on a comic called "Ren Of The Shrine" and it is absolutly wonderful. Her name is Jaycee Plont, her otaku board username is SakuraMinomino
