Golden Sky: The Quest For Tomorow

Out there, beyond the blue, there?s Golden Sky?All the old sky sailors talk about it, and some of the younger ones say it doesn?t exist.

But I know it?s out there, I can just feel it; Like it?s waiting for me.

Myria, a world of wonder, where the land floated in the sky and humans lived to wander the skies. The people of Myria sailed the clouds, off into the pristine blue in search of new land, new lives or perhaps to see how far the horizon would go. Those who dedicated their life to the ongoing heavens were called sky sailors, and it seemed that it was every child?s dream to join them?

Bright russet eyes watched dozens of airboats, large and small, drift out of the open harbor, sailing out over the downy white clouds into the still dusky morning. It was the first day of the flying season, and the locals certainly weren?t going to wait for anyone, especially not the sun.

Catch Lightfeather?s eyes widened even more as he watched his father?s ship, The Jade Stallion; make its way out of the sky port to join the other airboats. It was a fine old ship, one that Catch?s father was very proud of. Thin cloth ivy hued wings stretched either side of the airboat, billowing in the updraft, sending the ship upwards into the sky. Catch could make out the faraway form of his father moving about the deck, hoisting the main sail that caught just in the wind; propelling the boat forward, aided by two rotating propellers situated near the stern.

The boy sighed as the Jade Stallion began to fade away into the first true rays of the early morning light. That would be the last he?d see of his father, Aaron Lightfeather, for a good few months. He?d be out hoping to stake claim to new land, or looking to sell his services as a sailor for a short while, but Catch really knew what he was looking for, that elusive place known as Golden Sky, a bit of land that no one could seem to find twice, a place where food was plentiful and the sky was always a warm golden hue.

His mother thought he was crazy whenever Catch?s father went on about it, and wasn?t absolutely thrilled when he indulged their only son?s imagination with these ?ridiculous? notions.

?Honestly Aaron Lightfeather, if you keep filling his head with these silly ideas, he?ll never focus on his studies!? He could hear his mother?s chiding voice in his head.

Well she was right, he had skipped his studies today just so he could watch the all airboats depart from the province port. Chances were he?d be there well into the late afternoon, perched on the edge of an old viewing platform railing that was usually reserved for tourists. Lucky for him tourists didn?t visit Harshep City (if at all) during the sailing season, so he had the splendid view to himself. He glanced over at the so-called city; it was more like a giant village, a never-ending run of markets and homes. It held the appearance of one large village, gaining a bad reputation for those who did travel to Harshep. The people of the Province were called Pirates and other off colored things since they most likely didn?t hold the visual status of being civilized like other near-by civilizations. Catch snorted at the thought; the people of Harshep were good, hard-working people who enjoyed life and enjoyed the art of sailing. They weren?t a bunch of bloody pirates, despite a few bad apples?

Catch sighed again as he watched the airboats gliding gracefully out in an almost perfect formation. He had wanted so badly to leave with his father this year, to gain his sailing legs, but being a fifteen year-old boy with a prospective education ahead of him dampened his chances of actually tagging along. So he was reduced to watching the ships leave again, as he had for years?

But this year would be different; Catch had a plan he had been mulling over for a long time now. On the other side of the floating province his chance was waiting, His very own airboat; salvaged from the markets and re-built by his own hands. His ?Phoenix?, the small boat that he?d use to get off this floating rock.

He grinned, sweeping snowy locks from his auburn eyes. Now all he needed was backup, a crew, a fleet of others who wanted to find what all sailors really wanted to find. Golden Sky!

+Alright, now that's out of the way, this is what I need to tell you:

-I ask that all characters start at Harshep.
-If you want to be a good natured pirate, then by all means, knock yourself out.
-You don't have to have your own airboat, it's completely optional.
-This story does have meaning, as the characters will be looking for Golden Sky, but they will also be running into Bad pirates, exploring the world of Myria, ect.
-Original characters please, if I see "jack sparrow" anywhere I will hunt you down with a brick.
-Only humans in this Rp. Sorry. If you want to be an elf or what have you, go somewhere else.
-Don't controll other people's characters unless it's ok with them.
-I would like serious, good Rpers who are willing to be imaginative and stick through this the entire way. (I think this goes without saying in anyone's Rp.)

+This is what I need from you:

Name: Something, anything!

Age: Nothing too young or too old please.

Gender: Yeah...

Apperance: A picture or a description, please don't be vauge.

Personality: What makes your character tick? What bugs them? What are they penchant for? How do they act in certain situations? Do they have any weird characteristics that we should know about? ect.

Bio: Everyone comes from somewhere, that's what I want you to tell me here.

Skills: These can be as trivial as you wish, and if it's not a skill perhaps it's something your character can do that they're proud of, like belching or singing. And I'll only say this once: NO MAGIC.

Weapons/Items: Use your own judgement in this area, I'll accept swords and revolvers, but try not to arm your character to the teeth. For items it comes down to what your character would bring with them on a journey, things they HAVE to bring.

Reason for Leaving Harshep: Breifly tell me why your character is setting off.

+OPTIONAL+

Airboat- A boat that can fly on the air, most airboats are addorned with several sails that look like wings that keep it afloat. Not everyone needs a ship, but if you want to make one, use this guide.

Name: Your ships name.

Size: How many people can comfortably live on your ship?

Apperance: Go nuts!

Equipment: Is your ship equiped with stuff? Then what does it have? I'll accept made-up weapons for this one.

Some nautical terms:

Bow- front of the ship
Mast- upright beam holding the sails
Port- left side of the ship
Starboard- right side of ship
Stern- Rear or backside of ship

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

That's pretty much all I need, I'll be accepting anywhere between four to six players, I'll close signups in a week or so, or when more than fifteen people sign up.

I'll put my signup as Catch on here soon.

Did I forget something? Questions? Ask me, I'll listen!

And remember, Have fun!
