Were Adam and Eve married? If they were, it was by God, whom I believe to be Love. I also believe that Christ IS God, as well as Love. Is it not what Love has joined together, that no man should put asunder? Many people are married in a church without love. So I don't think that legal marriage has anything to do with marriage of the heart.
Yes... legal marriage is a symbol, nothing more. But a symbol that societal pressures rightly require to ensure commitment in the form of a contract.

I'd really love to post some kind of insightful or enlightening comment here, but in all reality I'm still a virgin. 18 years old, in college, and a virgin. If this keep going the way is, I'll end up unintentionally waiting until I'm married (as if that'll happen) or just die a virgin.

As for some of the earlier posts, (without any religious or cultural bias) if you want to wait until you're married thats your choice. On the other hand, if you really love the person you're with and the moment happens to arise (pun not intended) then go ahead. I say just wait until the both of you are ready, married or not, and just let it happen.

I guess I really oughta shut up now. I have no idea what any of this is actually like, and the one girl I've really loved in my life so far apparently wants nothing to do with me...yet I still love her. Oops, sorry got off track...she does that to me sometimes.

There's really no shame in being a virgin in your late teens or early twenties. At least there shouldn't be especially since I didn't lose it until I was 19...yeah like you cared. And it's only been with one person.

Heck, I know of a girl who didn't lose it until she was in her early twenties and there's a guy my huband works with who still hasn't gotten any and he's 22. Of course part of the reason could be because all he does stateside is sit in his room and play on the computer all day, but it does prove that there are twenty something male virgins out there.

Pretty much what I'm saying is there's no shame in not losing your virginity before you're old enough to vote-or even drink. There's no problem with only sleeping with one person either. Besides with that last thought in mind it makes it easier to remember who's name you should be screaming.
That was even funnier than wrist cutter's post. How do you do it?
That's it - I've been outdone. I'm ruined. It's all over.

Oh, and as for the topic, just don't get pregnant. If you get an STD that's cool though because you probably had it coming.
If you have sex without God's consent... you WILL get an STD. You will die from said STD. Sex can wait, masturbate.
That sounds slightly familliar.

Edit: "At your age, your gonna have a lot of urges.Your gonna wanna take off your clothes, and touch each other. But if you have sex,you will get chlamydia/pregnant,and die.Don't have sex in the missionary pisition, don't have sex standing up,just don't do it,promise?Ok,everybody take some rubbers."

Thats from Mean Girls. But yours is funnier.Power to you man.
Looking at things from a completely naturalistic point of view, humans have sex strictly for reproduction. But being sentient, it means something deeper than that to us. Not just pleasure - but even deeper. Love, quite simply. For some people (whom I have great respect for) love is what it's all about. Besides reproduction that is.

I've decided to wait for love myself, but there's kind of a long story that goes with that...
*chuckles* We know, we know. And you're gonna be waiting a while; I have to get out of highschool first, buddy.

Chobit, take it from me. I'm only two years younger than you, and I know how that is. All the kids around here(with the exception of a couple who haven't lived here long enough) are not virgins. They are all 15/16/17 aged, and even one is 13. Only the 13-year-olds twin sister, her BFF, and I are the only virgins in the group. But it doesn't matter. They don't pressure us, and I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one. Not having sex till you're older is FINE.

*ahem*

Now. >> I read a lot, and my mom was always insistant I know what I need to about this(yes, I have one of THOSE moms). Some say it hurts, and I wouldn't know, but I think that they just weren't enjoying it. Maybe it only hurts if you are(like CHW said) tensed up, and not noticing the pleasure the other person is giving you. ^_^ THat's just my insight.

Heh Drix you've still got it.

Personally I don't think there is really any right time to have sex for the first time, then again since I haven't yet had sex nor have any desire to do so. I think that when you and your respective girlfriend/boyfriend feel that you are ready then you have the option of taking that step. I'd prefer to wait to share something as intimate as sex until after marriage or with someone I eventually intended to marry but then again that's just me.
