jim, hawkins
Hello all I am curious to know if there are any others out there who practice shamanism like me and my grandmother do? My grandmother was a shaman and my grandfather was not he wasn't even japanese. But my mother was born into shamanism but chose not to accept the religion as hers so she convertd to christiananity. When she had me I chose to practice shamanism. Anyway I wondering if there were any other shamans like myself that go to this website to. If so feel free to post about anything shamanic such as your spiritual journeys that you took or are going to take and what your spirit guide may be like Bear, Butterfly, coyote, dog, Dolphin, Eagle, Fox, Frog, Hawk, Horse, Lion, Lizard, Owl, Panther, Rabbit, Raven, Snake, Spider, Turtle, Wolf which your spirit guide should be one of these. This thread is open for all to read but I would appreciate it very much if only those who practice shamanism post in it. For those of you who wish to convert to shamanism don't get your hopes up. The only way to become a shaman is to be born into it or survive a calling. And people don't pretend to practice shamanism so you can post here. SilverCyclone
I practice shamanism, but it may be a different host then yours, as you can convert if you meet your guarding spirit. I practice the Wolf. I worship them, and will never hurt any animal intentionally. It kind of distances me from other people, but I prefer to be with the small group of friends I have now then any other person. I became a shaman, wasnt born into it sad to say. I came face to face with a wolf while camping, and I felt...strange...thats when I learned about this religion, and I do believe with all my heart that animals have spirits and should be respected and revered. I've met the wolf twice since then, once when I was on another camping trip and the other when I went hiking with a friend of mine. I can tell its the same one, as its always alone, and has a white patch on its forehead. And it kind of gives off a feel...a sort of vibe if you'll pardon the expression. Hmm...alright, i'm rambling now...but I think thats my guarding spirit. And I hope to meet it and talk with it someday, just to know a few things.... Tatsubei Yagyu
Wow!!! You guys really do Shaman stuff, like in the anime, Shaman King? That's so cool! I Wish I could. Do you channel ghost spirits into your body, too?

It's kind of like being a medicine man. I don't know too much about it since I've never had much of a pull toward Shamanism, but I have read a book on it a while back. The point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't try to confuse a religion with what you see in an anime. People will laugh at you if you do.[/color]
