Jagan
I'm sure you've all heard that Michael Jackson has asked that stations stop playing Em's "Just Lose It!", and has talked about suing him, because it offends him. If that's the case, then will Bush sue Em for his ne video since it offends Bush? Also, can I ask stations to stop playing the Green Day song "American Idiot"? DeathBug
President Bush hardly cares what M&M has to say about him. Why anyone cares what that homophobic misogenist/poser has to say is beyond me. And, you can ask, but the stations more than likely won't listen, because the group of people who tend to follow Green Day tend to agree with the assertions made in the song. You can vote with your wallet and simply change the channel while it's on, though.
James
Actually, I think that MJ has made the video far more famous because of his response. Had he not responded at all, I'd probably never have noticed this video. lol I'm also kind of surprised that anyone pays attention to these things in a serious way. If you look at popular music over the last decade, there are so many songs that refer to Oprah Winfrey's weight struggles for example. She could take that very personally, but she simply rises above it. As a result, I don't think anyone pays much attention to it, even though Oprah is often the running joke when it comes to talking about weight issues. Actually, I tend to view Eminem's video with some sadness. I mean...the poor guy is really flailing around like a fish out of water. His pool is drying up, I think. To me, this represents one of his last dying breaths -- he just has almost no impact these days. I think he'll be remembered like Vanilla Ice or something...here one moment and at the top of the world, then gone the next day and forgotten years into the future. *shrug*
MaineOtakuNo2
I'm gunna be critisized for this but I'll say it anyway, Green Day's American Idiot is a good song. I'm punk and they have been doing punk work lately. Back on topic American Idiot is at some times true. Think about the dumb things America has done: Slavery is just one of em and how Bush dealt with Afganistan and Iraq was just horrible.

There is nothing that I like more than a hard day's punk work... I agree with James, celebities are only adding notoriety to an offensive song when they do what Micheal Jackson does. You think that someone ballsy enough to screw a friend (Paul McCartney) out of their entire lifes work would have a little thicker skin.
Harry
If that's the case, then will Bush sue Em for his ne video since it offends Bush??
There's a difference between calling him stupid (or whatever eminem does) and saying he rapes children. I'm suprised Jackson hasn't gotten used to it by now. Sure it sounds pretty bad but he's been having these allegations for atleast 10 years now. ChibiHorsewoman
The big question in this day and age is who isn't suing who? My favorite example is that incident involving Prince Harry and that photographer a few days back, Harry allegedly shoved the photographer away as he was leaving a night club because the guy shoved a camera in his face. So now this photographer wants to sue Prince Harry for personal injury. Maybe he wanted to use the money to buy a clue. YOu ask me I think those people who do those stupid lawsuites and win should be forced to donate about 95% of their winnings to charity. There's way too many of those Oh, and I kind of like American Idiot...then again I also like Stupid American and Dixie Chicks so maybe I should get some better tastes in music and become an evil conservative insead of an evil liberal.

Another conservative is the last thing we need. On the subject of sue-age, I think everyone should just cool it. The legal system nowadays is so clogged with stupid cases like Prince Harry vs Sue-Happy Photographer that it's no wonder that it takes weeks to get a parking ticket taken care of, etc. As for Eminem insulting people and having them ***** about it, since when is this new? MJ should just learn to deal with it the way most other people do. If he can deal with accusations of molesting children he sure as hell can deal with a little publicity in a song, even if it's bad publicity. They have a saying in show buisiness. "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. I agree with James on this one, if Michael had just shrugged off the content it probably wouldn't have had much attention paid to it but then again we can't be sure because of all the controversy surrounding him at the moment. Personally I was never a fan of Eminem and his music, or that kind of music in general for that matter, I think he's had his day in the limelight and now he should just fade back without incident. I do kind of feel sorry for him over the recent suicide of his uncle which also may have an impact on his career.
The legal system nowadays is so clogged with stupid cases like Prince Harry vs Sue-Happy Photographer[/b'] that it's no wonder that it takes weeks to get a parking ticket taken care of, etc.
I've actually seen a few different takes on what happened between Harry and the photographer and from what I can make out Harry was in the wrong at the time. I can understand the fact that he lost his mother due to a bunch of paparazzi and the whole drug taking issue a while back, more recently he'd even been accused of cheating in his A-Levels. I can understand him losing his cool but in the end he was wrong and that photographer deserves his day in court.
PWNED
I actually agree with chibihorsewoman on the matter of the Prince Harry camera shenanigan. The photographer should know that Harry has had problems with the paparazzi and there they are, intruding into his privacy so they deserved to get personal injuries. Another good controversy is how Aussie Tenis Player Mark Philopusis was cheating on Pop Musician Delta Goodrem with Paris Hilton. How this is a controversy is that a former co-star with Delta on Neighbours set Hilton and 'Scud' up. Even worst is that Deltas latest single, titled Out of the Blue, was written for Philopusis when they were going out but days after the releaseof it the two broke up. 'Scud' claimed that the break-up was to further their careers while Hilton claimed that they broke up cause the Scud found Goodrem boring. The aftereffects of this are the Goodrem has canceled all confrences and Signings for a week because of the fact that this song, this one song caused her much grief and pain after they broke up. Scud and Hilton are recieving a lot of negative reactions to this.A nd when i say a negative reaction, I mean being insulted in every single paper. I ask you, do you think that this is a controversy? Epitome
President Bush hardly cares what M&M has to say about him. Why anyone cares what that homophobic misogenist/poser has to say is beyond me.
Bingo... George Bush really doesnt give two shits about what Eminem has to say about him...
Actually, I think that MJ has made the video far more famous because of his response. Had he not responded at all, I'd probably never have noticed this video. lol
Exactly. If he hadnt of said anything, the video would have been one of those Eminem videos that was funny for a short while, but then ends up getting dull. And on the Green Day thing... No one is going to sue them because of the fact that they made a song called American Idiot. Im American and I am not at all offended by it. In fact, I enjoy the song alot. So morals of the stories: MJ shouldnt have said anything, no one cares about what Eminem says, and no one is going to sue Green Day...
