Yes, you can actually go on THE date with either Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie or Barret, depending on how you treat each of them in the game before the scene (I haven't tried the trick myself, but I saw this guide that instructed with details how to do it.)

And FFXII is definately going to change many things that the fans have gotten used to - wether it's good or bad is everybody's own opinion. However, [spoiler]I'm not 100% sure that Penelo and Vaan are steady at the beginning of the game, they just... well, seem to live together. What I'm sure of is that Vaan will not hook up with Ashe, like everybody assumed when the two of them were first announced.[/spoiler] I'm not sure how many really thought Tidus and Yuna's love was something special and unique and larger-than-life... Not me, for one.

Anyhow, FFX's theme was Love & Peace, and FFXII's theme seems to be War & Freedom. They're really on different levels, those two. But all we poor fans can do is wait... *sigh*

The FF series is a great series with a good battle system. It has characters that people know and love. And it has the ever 1337 summons.

I personally think Final Fantasy is a great series, but it's not the best thing ever made like many people say. It has great storylines, yes, but it's not something that grips me for hours on end. I have all the Final Fantasy playstation games, but I haven't beaten one of them yet, though I am close. But to answer the question asked, Final Fantasy is overall definitely hot! It's just not too hot to handle, lol.
