Epitome
Oh man... My Into to Chem and Physics teacher has me hooked on them now. Hes a big music fan. His 2 favorite bands are The Beatles, which I mean cmon, you have to like them, they're The Beatles, and The Who. I didnt really know much about The Who until last year when I heard the song "Baba O'Reilly," but I had no idea who it was bye. Then I heard it again in my ICP class and I was like "Oh wow, they sing that?" So he showed me some of their songs and I later found that "Behind Blue Eyes" was also originally done by them. So I got to listen to alot more of their music and love them now. So does anyone else like them?
Baron Samedi
In regards to this, I don't have much to add. But in regards to that period of music, I have a little bit. In Battlefield Vietnam, they have this nifty 'radio' feature in vehicles, which plays classic songs from that era. At the moment, one of my favourite songs is "All Day All Night". I also like "War" and "Shakin' All Over", not mentioning any other great songs. Also, my mum was...well, obviously part of that era, and so I listen [passively...like passive smoking in the same room as someone] to much of that music. And I know and enjoy most of it. It's all good stuff. But don't tell anyone that I said that.
Billy Shears
Heh, I made a Who thread a long time ago... If you really like the Who, Epitome, you should watch the "rock"umentary "The Kids Are Alright". Pleny of great live performances and funny interviews, skits, etc. My favorite song is "A Quick One While He's Away". It's a mini-rock-opera about a wife cheating on her husband while he's away with a dirty old man named Ivor the Engine Driver. It, along with "I'm a Boy", are Pete Townsend's pre-Tommy rock operas. They're definetly one of the greats in rock 'n roll. From creativly writing entire stories in 2-minute songs to destroying EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT ON STAGE makes them one of my favorites. But do you know where I could find it... But I thought there would be alot more fans here on the boards... Alot more people are now into the classic rock scene so I thought there would be alot more replies. But hey, who knows.

Check eBay or Amazon.com. It's a fairly old movie, the last piece of footage was from their final concert in '78, before Keith Moon's death 3 months afterwords (he was THE drummer). It's not really a historical look as much as it is great live performances and interviews, there is some background for it. I highly reccomend it, for new fands and old ones alike.
