The bands for me are pretty much Queen, Guns N' Roses, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, ZZ Top, Van Halen, and Tom Petty.

They are all awesome. I love to listen to them as much as my modern rock and techno. They all have something unique in their music. They are all cool, and I like almost all of their songs.

I'd have vote G'n'R seeing as I've listened to more of their stuff but I'm still partial to Aerosmith. Has anyone heard this new band called 'Velvet Revolver' who are made up os some of the old Guns...I've not but I haven't got a very high opinion of them seeing as they haven't got Axl Rose and he made that band :p.

Aerosmith are good for their comedy value I think, songs like 'Dude looks like a lady' and 'Love in an elevator' are classics and can never die :p.

Interesting, most interesting.

Well out of the above if I had a gun put to my head to make a choice I'd probably go for Queen, there's just something about their music that makes you listen to it over an over. To be honest though my favourite Classic Rock group would be Thin Lizzy, yes I can already hear people say that I'm biased because they're Irish but the thing is that they just have great music in my opinion. Stuff like "The Boys are back in Town" will always been classic, Queen though come in a very close second.

Ive realized that you love those words... lol.

But to stay on topic, there are alot of bands I enjoy very much. But I have one that if you dont like this person, you are crazy. And that person is John Mellencamp. He is a classic rock God. He is really one of my heroes in real life. His music is so amazing, there really are no words to describe it.

I also like The Who, GNR, Zepplin, etc. But Mellencamp has got to be my favorite classic rocker.

I've only heard one Mellencamp song and it makes me want to kill myself. Granted that doesn't take much, but nonetheless it's a song that I think is absolutely awful. I shouldn't judge artists on one song, it's just my opinion, yadda yadda, but nonetheless I absolutely abhor that song. I don't know the name of it, but it's the really annoying one that they play on the radio sometimes.

I'm a huge fan of 80s rock.

I appreciate Led Zepplin the most because they were the precursor(sp?) to much of modern rock.

Not much else to say, I love Ozzy, AC/DC, and Aerosmith... as well as Old School Punk - Dead Kennedies, Ramones, stuff like that.

Old school Metallica and Iron Maiden did a lot for modern rock, too.

Ultimate favorite classic rock band...RUSH. They've been making music for 30 years, their older stuff is still relevant and their newer stuff rocks. Geddy Lee is hands down the best bassist in rock, and he can sing too...he must have sold his soul to satan. I can't imagine a better drummer than Neil Peart and while Alex doesn't write lyrics or sing, I can't think of what the band would be like without his guitar playing and rapport with the guys.

Those are just some of the reasons they're my all time favorite band as well, I even met them this past August before the concert.

Ozzy Osbourne is the greatest man! I know many people will disagree with me about this, because it's such a widely opinionated subject, but it's true man. I mean, if you think about it, Ozzy is credited as being the godfather of metal. And I think he's credited with that for a reason don't you? He's great, and that's all there is to it. Give it up for Ozzy Osbourne ladies and gentlemen! Aiyeee Aiyeee Aiyeeee....

I am so disappointed that Pink Floyd is not on the list. I seriously think that they would have to be my favorite, with Led Zeppelin following close after. I never really got in the classic rock scene, but I grew up listening to it and it just so happens that early 90s rock is what I got into and what makes me all gushy and sentimental. But Pink Floyd...I have a lot of memories of my dad being silly, of my mom (her maiden name is Floyd) and all of her silly stories from middle school when she used to convince people t hat they were related. Anywho, I'm also a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Tom Petty. Gah, his music is so awesome.

Carry on, lol.

Yeah definitely though Metallica started out based on Lars Ulrich's love of British Heavy Metal bands, when himself and James Hetfield first met, Hetfield said that Ulrich's music collection was "F***ing Huge". I'd say that without bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden modern Rock/Heavy Metal wouldn't be the genre it is today.

Even though I'm only 15, I have grown up, and loved almost every band listed. They are what get me up in the morning. Ac/Dc's Thunderstruck is a favorite, and I, like Her Black Wings, can't seem to get parts of it out of my head. I grew up, mostly at a friends house, listening to Def Leapperd, and Led Zeppelin, also Guns and Roses, etc, etc. Somehow, Aerosmith seems to be a favorite amoung my sister, and mom. Even though they don't like rock. My dad and I listen to it though.

To the person interested, I have listened to a few songs of Velvet Revolver, and two that I recommend are Fall to Pieces, and Slither.

According to MSN music, "Velvet Revolver consists of Slash (guitar), Duff Mckagan (bass), and Matt Sorum (drums) all of Guns N' Roses, with the new additions of Dave Kushner (Dave Navarro) for extra guitar, STP's Scott Weiland as lead singer"

EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT QUEEN!!!! OMG, THEY WERE HEARD ALMOST EVERYDAY GROWING UP IN MY HOUSE, WHETHER IT WAS ME OR MY DAD PLAYING IT!!!!
