Links in New Windows

When you click on "Go to Blah's homepage" in the drop-down menu that opens under their username, would you be able to set that so that it opens in a new window, rather than taking you off OB to somewhere else? And the same thing with attatchments: Open them in new windows.

If you could do that, it'd be very helpful. Thanks. I've just been looking at some old posts recently, and noticed how annoying it was to have to backtrack to OB, or right-click to open it in a new window.

Do you have a middle mouse button? If you do, most browsers have it defaulted to open a link in a new window. Try pressing it when you are over a link and see if it works. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you can set it up rather easily.

There's an extremely easy solution to this: Right click the link, then click "Open in New Window." I use that all the time. It's easy, nearly as fast as just clicking the link, and it lets you select which links you do a don't want to open in new windows. Having a link set to open in a new window no matter what can be annoying sometimes.

I always want to open attatchments in a new window. If I'm browsing a thread, and want to check out their homepage, previous posts, PM them etc. I'll often want to remain in the same thread. I don't see why a new window would only be enabled for their profile, and really, it is something easy and simple that will just add another good touch to the boards.

Right-clicking isn't exactly hard, sure, but it just makes sense.

Interesting, most interesting.

Personally I've always found it just as easy to use the Open in a New Window action as Desbreko pointed out. I actually sometimes find it irritating when certain sites only open in new windows leaving you finished with one set of information and constantly having to close windows you're done using. Again I just think the system of Open in a New Window is the easiest, but I do see where you're coming from on this one Baron.
