Luke, Mara and Jacen go to the Unknown Regions to find the planet Zonama Sekot(read Rouge Planet by Greg Bear if you haven't heard of planet) They are going there to find out how to "contain" the Yuuzhan Vong menace once and for all. Yeah, thats basically it, if I remember correctly.

The book by Troy Denning is Tatooine Ghost, and I don't know the exact titles by Timothy Zahn, but one is about the Outbound Flight Project, and the other is a Mara and Luke book if I remember correctly.

I need to know something...

Why are all the Star Wars conventions, large events and RPG conferences all held on either the west coast (USA), or in the Midwest?!?!

I can't seem to find a single Star Wars event that takes place on the East Coast that I can attend.

It is driving me INSANE! :flaming:  :angry2: :cussing: :grumble: :bash:

Does anyone know of a Star Wars event that I could go to that takes place on the East Coast.....?

Well, I know there at least three Star Wars events that take place in the Midwest, but the only one I can think of right now is Star Wars Celebration II, It took place this past May 3-5th.

I will try and find out about the others...

Oops, silly me I forgot to say where.

Star Wars Celebration II was held in thee Indiana convention center in Indianapolis, IN.

It was mainly about episode II, and featured guest speakers such as Anthony Daniels, costume contests, all kinds of merchandise, the fan film awards, and Star Wars card game tournaments.

**** guys, I'm sorry. I haven't been in here for ages. College has kept me wicked busy, but I'm learning how to speak Southern Californian! (It IS a language within a language!)

Anyway, there are a lot of Star Wars nerds out here, so I'm getting a great big helping of Star Wars conversations! I'll make sure and post that trivia I promised soon :whoops:

I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around here much lately.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that there is now a new Super Moderator (Elite, isn't it?) who "rules" the same area of OtakuBoards as you. Thought you had been replaced :faint: , until I checked the Staff section... *Insert sigh of relief smilie here*

But back on topic...

I have heard that California is a great place as far as Star Wars goes, and next time I visit my grandma out there, I'll have to attend some convention or something...

I'm sure that most of you have read NJO, correct? Well here's something to think about. In VOTF, Soontir-Fel and Voss Prack(I think that was his name) claim that there was a threat that Thrawn ahd been preparing for. That is why the Hand of Thrawn was mad eon the planet Nirauan. Just started to re-read TTT, and came across two things, Thrawn said himself that there was a power out there that were he to lead the Empire and the NR against, he wasnt sure of victory. On page 175 of Heir to the Empire, there is an art piece described. Now when I re-read that part, it got me thinking of a yammosk. So do you think that this great threat was the Vong? Or don't ya? The only way for you to actually give a legit opinion would be if you read the NJO, HoT Duology, and TTT.

I think that the threat was the Vong, but not yet named at the time. I can explain later why I think that.

It is curious that you mention the connection between Thrawn's unnamed threat and the Vong.

The Thrawn Trilogy is my favorite Expanded Universe series, and the first thing I though of when I read about The Vong in Vector Prime was Thrawn and his talking about an threat from outside the galaxy.

I think the Vong were that that threat, but the artwork that you refer to strikes me as odd. I haven't actually gone back and looked at the page you mentioned, but it strikes me as odd that the Vong would have un-living artwork.

So while I think you are correct as far as the Vong/Thrawn connection, I am not so sure about the artwork you refer to.

But yet; if it werent alive, in SBS they have scupltures(sp) of their gods. Now reading that only gave me more evidence to my theory, were it to be right. Another thing, it seemd to me that the artwork was "actually" alive. On page 175 it says this: "Sitting all alone in its globe of light, it slowly writhed on its pedestal like a wave in some bizarre alien ocean." Now to me, that seems like its alive to me. Maybe a yammosk not fully grown? or stunted growth maybe?

I actually have been replaced, but by my own will. It's a resignation due to the fact that I don't have time to mod around here anymore. But no worries, I'll still be an active poster :toothy:

And yes, if a convention ever comes to somewhere like LA, I'd probably be able to round up a few people to come with me, so long as the cost wasn't too great. This school is draining my bank account :drunk:

Speaking of the draining bank accounts...

Christmas is coming up, and instead of spending my hard earned money on Star Wars things, (I must buy more novels! *Walks off towards Barnes and Noble like a zombie*) I must buy my family presents... :therock:

I have most of the novels, but still need the last half of the X-Wing books, three NJO novels, the Thrawn trilogy (I have it on tape...) and the Updated Core Rulebook.

The worst part is that they won't buy me Star Wars things for Christmas! They think I already have too many :bawl:

The only good thing about Christmas without Star Wars is that I can buy myself whatever I want that is Star Wars related right up until Christmas. (Normally my parents make me stop buying things about a month before Christmas so that someone won't get me something I already have.)

Something was more important than Star Wars celebration II!?! Must have been very important...

In the meantime, while I wait for BabyGirl to post her trivia, I will make up and post some more in my next post...

[EDIT]I changed the attachment for to post a picture elsewhere...[/EDIT]

I have a question for anyone who has read Truce at Bakura, by Kathy Tyers. I know that the book focuses on the Ssi-Ruuk invasion of Bakura, eventually they are driven off. In the Essential Chronology, it says that the New Republic then invades there system, and finds a half beat foe, presumably decimated by the Chiss. Now did that actually happen in the book? Or just something they added in the Essential Chronology?
