foreverinfinity
What was your worst hair-related incedent ever(haircut, highlights, coloring, ect.)? Best? Something that would have looked awesome if you hadn't chickened out or if your parents hadn't said no? my worst was probably when I was in third grade and got my hair cut short. The way the stylist cut it was really bad. I hated it. the best was probably when I decided to get my hair layered. It was probably the first time my hair didn't look like a bird's nest  . I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going 2 do once my hair grows out... if my mom will let me. It's kinda hard to explain, but I think it will look pretty good... I hope. Juu
Due to my odd obsession with scissors, I've had 92831983 bad hair incidents. >.>; Worst one, though, would be last year. The year prior to that, I fell asleep (whilst doing homework) and woke up with a blob of gum on my forehead. (Shh- partially a reason I don'tt chew gum anymore. x_x) Panicked, cut it off. Now I had to let it grow back. The year after that, I was on scissor frenzy (cutting up clothes, etc), and decided to snip off some in the front (as if my hair didn't look bad enough already). Really simple, but total disaster. Looked like some sort of spiffy Buddhist monk for the rest of that year. Woo. Then this summer, I went to Korea, and one of the first things I did was get my hair straightened (it's really good and cheap there) and layered. But a month afterwards, I went back and got it highlighted. ...Bad idea. She didn't add a base coat, so I felt like a squirrel- especially on sunny days. So about two weeks ago, my mom just re-coloured it all dark brown again. You can still pretty much see streaks, but at least they're not orange. -.-; So yeap. Embarrassing, but my hair's normal now. >.>; And my mom bought me this Japanese shampoo/conditioner, and it feels a lot better than it did after the straighting perm. Eh. $12 per bottle, though. ~~; [Edit:] Oh, forgot to add. Celia's mom tested out her new hair cutting skills on me that year as well. *shakes fist*
chobit
I've never had a bad "hair day" that anyone has actually seen because; a)I pretend to be sick or b)Fabio fixes it. I've never dyed my hair so that saves me that trama.
Moi
I am having the worst hair incident ever to me right now. The beautician cut my hair too short and way far from what I was wanting. It's too short so I can't spike it now or grease it back, and it looks gay on me. I was so pissed at the beautician, but what can I do? It will only last a couple weeks hopefully. Uhhh... Inari
Hmm... Last year I decided to dye the tips of my hair red. Not the hair color red, but real red. It looked pretty cool for a few weeks, but then it faded and turn a blond color. My ends were so fried that I had a friend cut them off. It looked pretty bad, and was uneven. My word of advice is never let your friends cut your hair unless they really know what they're doing. Also, I permed my hair about a year and a half ago, and it is still curly! I can tell where my hair has grown since then, but bellow that point my hair still curls. It sucks! I just want my straight hair back! I was thinking about chemically straightening it, but with all the chemicals I put in my hair, my beautician thought it would be a bad idea. Has anyone else had a never-ending perm that just wouldn't die?
Epitome
I really havent had any bad hair days, only because, I really dont care what my hair looks like. As some of you may have seen in my picture I just posted recently when I got my braces off, I have longer hair than normal. I just let it grow out, and I personally like it better like this. Its more "me" if you will. I think now is the best I have ever had my hair. But when my hair was short, I used to highlight it blonde, and one time we didnt leave the dye in long enough and it turned out orange. So then we tried to make it brighter, and it turned out like yellowish whitish color. That was my only REALLY bad hairstyle.
Pumpkin
Has anyone else had a never-ending perm that just wouldn't die?
My hair is naturally wavy and frizzy. So I have to straigten it like every day or even twice a day if i want it to look nice, I also get blonde highlights and have light brown hair :D I like how it looks but..there was this one time I couldn't go to my hair dresser (he's pretty expensive because hes really good at it) named Curtis because we we're running low on money that week so we went to one of those cheap places in the mall i use to go to when i was little. I told the lady i wanted layers, and my hair straightened, and she made my hair curl so much i looked like Juri from Utena lol i mean literally Example : http://www.raw360.com/media/1/20040116-juri.jpg It seems flattering on an anime character, but in real life? lets just say it was a mess that i'd like to forget. Delta
That is just... vile. *points up* I told my haircutter once that I want my hair to be short and layered. Unfortunately, "short" for her really means "short enough to be sported by men." Ah well; at least I looked good in it. A trusted haircutter is a nice thing to have. Never let anyone else cut your hair so as to prevent disasters like *points up*. Love and Peace!
Japan
I am lucky and cheap. I have natural brown, blonde, and red highlights, along with brown hair. It is naturally wavy and shiny. It is still long, but it is shorter than I've ever had it. I never dyed it. I guess that I'm just lucky...heh
ChibiHorsewoman
My hair natural color is this really boring brown. It's probably nice and everything, but 1.) I haven't seen it completely on my head sicen my sophomore year of high school and 2.) I like being a red head better. Other than that I have really nice hair that barely gets split ends and well, I just really like it natural color aside. However while i was pregnant I couldn't dye my hair because when you dye hair it ghoes on the roots and that could harm the baby. So instead I high lighted it. The first attempt was with my mom, and one of those home kits that comes with a plastic cap. My hair was just bellow my shoulder blades around this time and my mom is pretty bad with hair to begin with. Well, long story short. My mom giot frustrated half way through pulling hair through the cap and we had to cut the cap off. My hair was all tangled up in huge knots so I spent 45 minutes in the shower with a comb and half a bottle of conditioner trying to get most of the knots out then got my mom to help me with the rest. That following Monday I got my hair done professionally at Regis.
Erika
Ach mein GOTT!! I totally see where Juu's coming from! T_T UGH! I've had so many bad hair incidents it's not even funny anymore. T_T I had a friend who was trying to give me hairlike braids, that involved using wax at the ends and burning them. Failed. And I ended up with a plastic Safeway bag over my head, sunglasses on, and a coat with the hood up, so no one knew who I was, while we decided to finish up at her house, and had to walk through TOWN. By the time I let my hair out of its braids and whatnot, I looked like Scary Spice, only worse. o_0; When I was a tomboy in middle school, I had it ridiculously short--just barely below my ears. o_0;; And whenever I let it grow just past my shoulders, it cut again. But my hair always did this rebellious flip that went to one side...I couldn't get either side to curl in or out; I probably would've looked like Selphie if I had it flipped out. XD Well, it was my bangs that I always screwed up for reasons that now fail me. The more I tried fixing them, the worse they got, and the shorter. I was just an idiot. And when I decided to get my hair done like Rinoa's (I couldn't think of any other hairstyle I wanted at the time; if my hair was longer I'd've been able to pull it off, lol), it came out flat and my bangs were in three, flattened chunks that kinda curled. But then when I was 16 I decided to get one of those long-in-front-short-in-back haircuts. If it weren't for my damn glasses being in the way, I bet half the hairdos I had would've looked nice. X-/ Anyways, as a result, I either 1.) looked like an Asian waitress (but I'm not Asian, let alone look it, and my sister has a poor sense of judgement, lol) or 2.) looked as if I were wearing a black beanie. O_<; But then '03 came, and me and sis discovered the miracle of hair-straighteners and razors. X3 Now my hairdo has been the same for about...a year. It's down to my shoulderblades, and my bangs are tapered and parted. I've grown more obsessive about how my bangs should be done (can you blame me?! Lol!), and my sis is pretty good with using the razor instead of scissors. And I straighten my bangs with the straightener every once in a while. I have pretty straight and dark hair (which makes me look paler, lol). :3 Everyone says, and I think so, too, that my hair looks best like this, and it's simple...so I'll keep it this way for a while.
Skye
Hehe, I've had people ask me if I've had my hair permed, and I always look at them funny. Depending on what I do to my hair, it takes different shapes. Its natural colors are dark brown, and gold, with a tinge of red. My mom and I usually say my hair has a mind of its own. Until I got the under layer cut shorter, it used to become extremely poofy, and annoying. SO now, my hair comes to just below my shoulder blades, and sometimes its straight to the ends, and then sort of springs. Sometimes it is wavy all the way down, where the ends curl and twist slightly, or its all just wavy, and the ends are straight. *shrugs* I've only ever had my hair dyed once, and that was right over the natural highlights I already had. The dyed ones have faded out, but I still have highlights. My least favorite hair cut(though the easiest to manage) was when I got my hair cut short. Not boy-short, but a little hgiher than my chin. It was annoying, to say the least(though the cut was MY idea. -.-), because I still had bangs back then (4th grade). I grew my bangs out, so none of those! My hair always grew really, really fast, so we had to cut my bangs often. I was glad when I let them grow out; they were always getting into my eyes. I'd say, though, that you guys have had worse. Hehe, Jer, you know we love you anyway. Rhian
Ezekiel
Well, most people think my hair is bad but I love it....<_<;; My worst hair cut was my natural hair, it looked better when I first woke up compared to the rest of the day -.- I think the only time my old hairstyle looked good was when my mum spent 30 mins+ drying and straightening it. I had my hair dyed blonder once, didn't really do much and was a total waste of money. Next thing I done was dye the ends blue, that was quite cool but they went green after a while...which wasn't very cool at all. But now, haha, I've had my hair cut off! Yes, my hair went from being down to the base of my back to.... well, I boys haircut really. But not as short as most boys <_< >_> just to get it straight. It's kinda long at the top so it's layered....think....Rupert Grint from Harry Potter. It's that colour too, since I dyed it red ^__^ very happy me. Unfortunately, in school my uniform makes me look very masculine so I often get little kids coming up to me with the question of 'Are you a boy or a girl?' These days I tell them I'm a boy and they call me gay -_____- better than being called butch, I guess >_>;;
Queen Asuka
I absolutely love my hair, so I'm very careful with it, especially when I get it cut. My hair used to be all the way down to my butt and I had awful bangs, but the ends were so dead and dried that it didn't look good. Now I have very long hair again, but this time it's very healthy. I do my own highlights. It's pretty easy to get someone to pull it through a cap for you. The one time I did it myself, it took me three hours to pull all of my hair through the cap. But I got a TON of compliments on it. I've always wanted to get my hair foiled, but it costs SO much at the salon because they want to do three shades of blonde and low-lights. As long as my hair is, it would cost $100+. Plus, when I see people who dye their hair too much, it is ULTRA frizzy. Yuck. And my best friend is my straightening iron. Even though I have naturally straight hair, if I don't feel like blow-drying it, I can just break my straightener out the next day and make it look awesome. I LOVE MY HAIR! *attaches a picture*
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Well I'm not sure quite how to feel being the first guy to post here, but I've definitely had my fair share of bad haircuts at the hands of a local hairdresser and a barber on town which I why I don't even get my hair cut any more, or at least until I have to. My worst haircut was most definitely one I got about 3 months ago for my granduncle's funeral, since last October I'd be growing my hair longer because it was something I'd never done before. Now my hair is light brown and has a tendency to wave or curl at the ends once it gets, anyway at just before being cut using a strand of hair from my forehead I could touch the end of my nose. I went into town and told the barber that I wanted it "neatened" up slightly for the funeral, by the end of the shaving it looked as if I had a small afro. It took nearly two months to grow my hair to get any sort of decent shape back in it. Generally my hair is OK, I just shower use a bit of shampoo, comb and dry it using a hair dryer and it's fine. I suppose I'm not really worried about bad haircuts because baldness seems to be genetic in my father's family, so the theory is to enjoy it while I have it.
Orb
One of the most sucky days of my life is related to this. I had just died my hair, to make it a lighter shade of blonde (it was naturally dirty blonde) and when it came out it was hideous. It was all yellowish and so unnatural looking. I practically died at school. I had to wear a beenie over it which made me look wierd. So the next day my dad let me stay home from school and dye it again to make it look better. Thankfully it did. Currently my hair is died a dark blonde and looks positively gorgeous.
Lunai
Right now my hair is a medium brown with darker browns mixed in. My best hair experience was a few weeks ago, when I dyed it a very nice shade of red. At the time my hair was in very tight "wet" styled curls, which I had worn for a little over a year. So two weeks ago I decided to straighten it (after I had colored it)...but I bought the wrong kind of relaxer and all of the red got stripped right out and I went back to being a brunette...something I haven't been for about 6 years now. But at least it's not as dark as when I was in grade school. I don't think I've had a really bad hair experience yet. Then again, I haven't had my hair styled in years.
instantramen14
Fortunately, I haven't had a bad hair cut; but my hair is totally unruly. It never stays in one place. I have stray hairs all around all the time. It sucks. I have to use alot of product to make it stay, but even then, it dosen't stay very well. It's stick straight too, so it dosen't hold curls very well. When I do curl my hair, I use practically the whole can of hairspray. I guess my current hair cut is pretty good. It is to my shoulders and I have the long bangs in the front. It's just a little too short to put into a nice neat bun. I need to get it trimmed though, I'm getting split ends... I really want to get purple tips on my hair. I've never dyed my hair, so I'll just have to see how that works out.
Kanariya
My bad hair days, well, I don't have all too many, but I have enough....for the time being. I know it will happen again soon, I just know it. >.> My hair, is naturally wavy and curly. From my scalp to almost at the ends it is wavy, and then at the bottom, it curls a lot. My mom, no professional at doing hair, tried giving me like chesnut red highlights. I asked for them of course, and she left it in too early, and I was out in the sun a bunch afterwards, and my hair kinda turned blonde. It was creepy, seeing my with blonde hair. >.< But currently, it's all good, because I got my hair temporarily straightened, and it looks real nice. And since my hair, naturally wavy, it becomes a little wavy itself, and looks really nice.
Sara
I have long, thick, dark brown hair. It was very straight when I was young, heh. It started getting wavy/curly when I was 13 or so. I've never had any horrible experiences with my hair, heh. Then again, I don't do much with it. I've never dyed it, and it's been past shoulder length since I was twelve years old. My mom trims it for me occasionally, and I cut a bunch off every couple summers...but people don't really notice, since it's still long. I'm thinking about getting it cut short again, but I don't know. I'm pretty chicken when it comes to messing with my hair, heh. Although I might go for bangs/fringe. Oh, well. if I do want to "experiment," I guess now would be the time...what is college for, if not doing scary things to your body while you can still claim to be "finding yourself"?
James
My hair is pretty...average, I guess. It's naturally black and when it reaches a certain length, it forms fairly loose and thick curls. It's kind of good, because they aren't tight little curls that I can do nothing with, you know? And when my hair is cut very short, it's totally straight. In terms of the best/worst...I don't really know. For a while when I was little, I had long hair. It looks really weird in pictures, to me, because I can't imagine having very long hair now. The craziest it's ever been is when it was dyed blue once. The blue actually looked really good, but I only did that once. I'm not really sure if I'm keen to do it again. I've been trying to convince one of my friends to bleach her hair completely white (since she has gorgeous dark skin), but even though her hair tends to be pretty wild...she still hasn't done that. ~_^ I've had a few bad hair days, but mostly it doesn't matter, because right now my hair is always a mess of curls and straight bits as it is. So you probably wouldn't notice if something was amiss, hehe.

Dagger
My hair is about waist-length. It's very low-maintenance... I get a family member to trim off an inch or so every four or five months, and it ends up perfectly straight regardless of whether or not I use a blow-dryer. I dyed it dark red about a year ago, and now it's grown out pretty far--the line between my darker natural color and the faded dye isn't that noticeable, but it can be sort of annoying. I don't think I've significantly changed my hairstyle since I got rid of my bangs, which grew out years ago and are now pretty much a distant memory. I've never had any truly awful haircuts, but I don't trust stylists that much anyway. ~Dagger~
Heaven's Cloud
I had a bowl cut once?it was horrid. Usually I have no complaints with my hair. eleanor
I have shoulder length black hair, and I like it well enough. It doesn't take ANYTHING to take care of, I swear, lol. Sometimes I can wake up, not even touch, go to school and look fine. :) I got it straightened like a year ago (what asian girl hasn't? lol) and it's sort of coming out now, but I really like it like this. I didn't like the total straight-ness of it because it looked weird on me. :/ But anyways...my hair is naturally wavy so it just curls outward a bit by itself. And I have a side-split (can't stand middle-splits, >_<) which I got used to after a while.
