I'd like to make this clear, since me posting here is going to be a bit confusing. This Rpg does NOT mean I plan to start making Rpgs again, or post here at all. This is a favor to my good friend, Rhian, who I know loved this Rpg since the first version went out less than a year ago.

For those of you who were in the first one, I'd like to make it a point that this one will not be like the last one (or, not exactly, anyway.) The framework is the same except a little altered, there are less temples, more elemental power, ect.
Enjoy.

RAIN OF FIRE

Everyone knew something was going to happen, even before it did. We could always hear the Earth plead to us, to beg us not to destroy what it had given us. Now, the Earth was silent?

Grass flied as a group of little kids played soccer on the grass. The sky was starting to grow darker; it was going to rain. ?Sam!? A mother on the edge of the field called out, smiling. ?Wrap it up, sweetie, we should head in before it starts raining!?

The child panted and called back to his mom. ?Just a few more minutes mom!? He turned and started going after the ball again. His mother giggled, and looked up at the sky. The dark clouds were spreading along the horizon in every direction, faster than she had ever seen. Sam was completely absorbed in the game. He had the ball, and he needed to score one more goal to tie. He thought his mother had started drumming, somehow, and was thrilled to have her support. He kicked the ball hard, and rolled straight into the goal. He threw his hands up and giggled, and then looked back at his mom.

Sam looked puzzled, when he saw that his mom wasn?t even looking. She was staring off into the clouds, a look of puzzled horror across her face. Something was wrong; the thundering drums continued in rhythm, but his mom was still. Sam looked up to where his mom was staring. The gray clouds had turned charcoal black, and orange balls of light were falling from the sky. Each hit the ground with a large thunder-like sound, and exploded into firey demons that burnt everything they touched.

The thunderous claps of the fire rain were joined by rumbling deep beneath the Earth. Cracks burst open and spilled out black tar-like goo. Sam dropped his arms and screamed for his mom.

RAIN OF FIRE

The first night of the rain, there was still government. A worldwide televised announcement went out from the US president. ?April 19, 2005, worldwide destruction that the world has never seen before raveged the Earth. The death toll has been catastrophic; it?s been estimated that only one third of the human race is left alive. In these trying times, we must bond together and defeat our adversaries?? Nobody knew who or why the chaos was started. People were not safe underground, and even more in danger above. The president died one hour after making that announcement, government and laws dying with him.

The rain continued for four days straight, and soon only one fourth of humanity survived. What land hadn?t sunk in the black goo or been destroyed by the rain formed a smoldering pangea. And, as fast as it had begun, the rains stopped. But?why had they ever started?

Eleven years after what is now known as ?The Rain of Fire,? man has started civilization over again. But, as suddenly as the Rain of Fire, five towers shot up out of the ground at the cardinal points. The Tower of Earth to the north, the Tower of Fire to the south, The tower of Air to the East, and the Tower of Water to the south, and in the middle, the Tower of Elements.

Signups:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Description:(at least a paragraph)
Element: (earth, water, fire, air, dark, light. After the rains, magic began forming in humans, and soon it was obvious that each human drew their magic from a certain element.)
Spells: (4 max. Five years after the rains, those gifted with magic learned that they could manipulate magic to their will.)
Weapon: (3max. Depending on how the story goes, you may be able to buy new weapons as needed)
Bio:

Alright. Now here's an example signup-mine.

Name: Kyru Starfe
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Description: Brown messy hair and blue eyes hidden behind black-mirror sunglasses. He never takes them off, except when he sleeps and sometimes in the dark. He wears a black leather jacket with a silver shoulder guard on his right shoulder. Carved into the guard are the words Demon Hunter, which is what he's commonly known by. He wears a leather jacket over a chainmail shirt, and black pants with small silver knee guards. Black boots and fingerless gloves. On his back sits His broadsword, rusty with negligence.
Element: Dark (mistanken with evil in the past, dark weilders have been given a bad name. Because of this, Kyru professes to use fire magic as much as he can.)
Spells: Kyru is less developed in magic than most people, since he can only control one spell. But what he lacks in his variety of spells, he definately makes up in the power of his one spell: Leech Sword. Like the name implies, leech sword gives him the power to draw energy from s foe by impailing him through either the chest or stomach. He doesn't use it often.)
Weapon: Kyru carries a worn broad sword, with only one sharp edge. Kyru's unorthadox fighting style allows him to use the dull side to block attacks, and the other edge to attack.
Bio: Kyru grew up with no father, but the best mother he could ask for. He was raised next door to an orphanage, where he began to make friends, but always seemed to loose them within a week. because of this, he made the decision that friends were overrated, and that he was better off solving his own problems intead of giving them to someone else. During the rain, Kyru, his mother, and one other boy Kyru called his brother found shelter in the basement of the orphanage. Kyru can't remember much of the rain besides sleeping in the corner of a barren shack, while horrible pounding thundered the roof. He could never recall why his brother had failed to survive the rains.

After the rains, everybody was swept with poverty, and his mother couldn't afford to make due for both herself and Kyru, so Kyru was left on his own. The only sure way to make a living he could find was destroying demons that wandered to close to the towns, though in his heart he knew if the demons wanted to kill people, they would in a flash.

Name: Kovu Diran
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Description: The teen stands 5?3?, with cerulean colored hair. The bangs frame her face, falling to her chest, while the rest is trimmed to just above her earlobes. Her eyes are a bright baby blue eyes, which are large and expressive. Her skin is a light caramel brown, with long, slender, but capable limbs. She has her ears pierced twice, once in the lobe, and once in the upper cartilage. She wears a pair of short black jean shorts, a long-sleeved black velvet shirt, knee-high black boots, and a dark blue bandanna that holds her hair back (leaves her bangs).
Element: Most of what Kovu professes in is water-based, with ice, mist, and frost mixed in.
Spells: Kovu has numerous attacks, but only three she uses regularly. The first, and easiest, would be: Ice Dagger. With this, she can fling long, sharp daggers of ice at the enemy.
Mist Sting: a layer of mist falls over the enemy, and it clings to the skin, feeling like acid, but not actually damaging them.
Frost Freeze: With this, she can put a layer of ice crystals around the opponent, and they freeze for a max of a minute.
Weapon: Kovu carries her six throwing knives, and a 5? long oak-wood staff. The middle is bound with leather, making it easier to grip.
Bio: Kovu grew up with a mom; her dad was hardly ever home, so she just never thought he counted. Of course, when he did come home, he would bring her little presents, and take her places. When Kovu was 8, her mother died - of what, they never told her. When she was buried, the tombstone had the name of both her parents on it, and so she assumed both dead.

In school, Kovu's grades were failing. With no one to live with, and no one to trust, the girl's attitude went from bad to worse. She was constantly smart-mouthing the teachers, and was skipping out on school. One day, during lunch, she ran into a girl. A girl who looked like her, thought like her, and had the same memories. The girl was Nelle. The only way you could tell them apart was by what colors they wore.

Kovu was soon back to normal with someone who knew exactly how she felt. The two were nearly inseperable. Lately, the two have been traveling, trying to get away from everyone and their nonsense.

And yes, Alice, you have my permission. ^.~

Well, if Rhian was waiting for this one, it must be good. ^.^

Name: Nelle Diran
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Description: Nelle is about an inch shorter than Kovu, but most people never notice. She has cerulean colored hair that she always keeps up in a ponytail, but leaves her bangs hanging down. Her baby blue eyes large, but a little bit less expressive than Kovu?s. Her skin is just a little darker than Kovu?s, but it?s still the same caramel brown. She has her ears each pierced once, in the lobes. Nelle usually wears a short dark blue skirt, a dark denim jacket, a dark red shirt, black knee-high boots that are similar to Kovu?s, but not exactly like them, and a dark red bandana to keep her hair up. (When it?s not in a ponytail.)
Element: Fire
Spells: Nelle is working on a fourth spell. But for now, she only knows three.
Great Ball of Fire: The simplest of her moves, thus not reuiring her to put much thought into it. She just shoots a ball of fire at her enemies. But since it?s not that strong yet, it works better for distraction.
Ring of Fire: A spell that Nelle purposely named after a song by the late Johnny Cash. She shoots out a thin ring of fire out from herself, attacking all enemies that are around her at the time. She can move the spot up or down that the ring goes out from. She can do this while either standing or sitting down.
Wicked Fire Starter: Probably Nelle?s most powerful spell so far. She places a hand on something or someone and she can start it on fire. (Except people are harder to start on fire, so usually she just sets fire to their clothes.) The disadvantage to this spell is that she has to be close up to someone or something to use it.
Weapon: Nelle usually carries a black leather whip, that?s spiked at the end. But, if the battle gets to close, then she has two short daggers by her side.
Bio: Nelle?s mom was never at home. Whatever she did, she was very successful at it and this required her to travel around the world. Since Nelle?s dad didn?t have to travel as much in his job as his wife did, and because one of them had to watch the kids, she grew up with only a dad. Then, when Nelle was close to having her eighth birthday, she came home to find that her dad had died of a heart attack. (They said it was due to stress and lack of sleep.) Nelle always wondered about that day, but she didn?t think about it much since she was only around eight at the time. A couple of years later, standing at her dad?s grave, Nelle has a feeling that her mother is probably dead too. She didn?t even come to her husband?s funeral, and she would have been back along time ago if she had received any news about him.

At school, Nelle couldn?t stand concentrating on any of her studies, but she knew that her aunt would get mad at her if she got any complaints from the teachers. Then, Nelle noticed a girl that was doing everything that she felt like doing, but didn?t because of her aunt. She decided to get to know this girl, so she decided to wave her over to her table at lunch. Nelle found out that the girl?s name was Kovu, and that they had a lot in common. They looked alike, thought alike, and had many of the same memories. It was hard for anyone to tell them apart.

Kovu seemed to change for the better, after Nelle met her. They soon became the best of friends and could not be separated by anything or anyone. Recently, Nelle and her new friend have been trying to get away from everyone and all their nonsense.

This one looks fun!

Name: Taelia Vechemi

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Description: Here's the character (clicky!)

Element: Wind

Spells: Still on the way to learning her third spell, the following two are the ones she uses most often:
Break Wind: aside from having a humourous name, this spell repels or shields Taelia and co. from enemy magic.
Helium Hurricane: fills an enemy's body with helium, not only giving him/her a high-pitched squeaky voice, but also making them float up in the air.
Her third spell, which she hasn't learnt properly yet is:
Final Blow: gale-force winds pick up and smash all opponents from all sides, leaving behind squishy red blobs of gunk (the leftovers of enemy bodies).

Weapon: Taelia carries her No-Dachi with her at all times - a blunt katana-type weapon, best used to bash enemies to a pulp rather than slice them to bits. She also keeps a bamboo bo-staff nearby and a blow-dart-gun in her bag.

Bio: Seperated from her twin brother at birth, Taelia was always told that there had been difficulties in the birthing process, and her brother had died. Which was plainly a lie to keep her away from her twin.
Taelia's mother was killed when she was 4, during the year of the "Rain", which messed with her mind a bit. Her dad lost all of his part-time jobs because of his neverending depression, and he suicided on the 8-year anniversary of her mother's death.
Only being 12, Taelia had no idea what was waiting for her in the world, but she knew it'd be bad. She equipped herself with the three weapons her father had taken with him as protection until his death and set off to find something interesting to do.
She was bored.
Another thing she had stumbled across in the shelter she had called home was a pendant with a small torn photo inside. It was clearly something that could lead to the discovery of her twin that had supposedly "died at birth".
She set off, and four years later had nothing to show for all the time she'd spent except three partially learned spells and a so-so fighting technique.
She's currently a bounty-hunter for a twisted and corrupt town leader.

Okie-doke. All done. I've left the option of someone being Taelia's twin, but it's not necessary :P. I have my own plans for that. Message me if you want to be the twin (if I'm accepted, that is).

Ah, Tyler. Long time no see bud ^_^ I'm going to start brand new on this story..

Name- James Van Howerdel
Age- Has the appearance of a 24 year male.
Gender- Male

Description- Darkness master, James, stands at around six feet tall and weighs close to one-hundred and eighty-five pounds. He's just as dark and intimidating as his element he wields. Quiet, collected, observative, calm, and has a hint of arrogance. Cocky? No, James is anything but self-absorbed, but can be very blunt and, sometimes, cruel and will shed no tears of remorse for the weak.

Element- Darkness

Spells:
Shadows Fall- Fear, anxiety, terror; all words related to phobias of darkness. A person can feel one of two ways about shadows: they love it or they fear it. Once James casts this spell on the oponent, they have to decide of those two options; to love the darkness, or to fear the darkness. Say the oponent chooses to love the darkness and remains calm, he/she has a better advantage of fighting the spell. Rather, if the oponent fears the darkness, it will consume him/her with whatever their fear forces them to hallucinate (ie, monsters, being slaughtered, being alone, etc). James can use this spell as an attack or a defense. The situation persuades his decision.
-This spell can be used/manipulated with James' energy.

Flames of Peril- The spell is what it sounds. When casted on an opponent/object, black, smoke-like flames spew and ensnare the target of the spell; enveloping the opponent/object and searing the target into ashes.
-This spell can be used/manipulated through either James' hands or his katana.

Raven's Claw- Controlled by James' thoughts and self-control, dark energy surrounds the opponent/object and envelopes the target into a save-haven for James to control. Now, this can be good, and this could be really bad. James has control over what is glowing an ominous blackish purple. He can easily move you to a safe place; mold a protective barrier; crush whatever's inside with unimaginable dark energy and gravity. It all depends on the situation....and what he wishes to do.
-This spell can be used/manipulated with James' hands and mind.

Weapon- A three and a half-foot, katana. It is nothing special as it lays, just a normal blade. However, it is James' power behind his dark-based attacks/spells.

Bio: Not much is known about this dark character. He's very mysterious and very keen on keeping his emotions/feelings/and past locked away inside of him. The little that I can give you on James is that he is the only survivor of his entire family tree. No one is left for him. His five younger brothers and sisters, his loving parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and adopted family, all wiped out under the Rain of Fire's merciless fury. In addition to losing his relatives, James lost the only piece of love in his heart; his four year old daughter, Elaina.

Strange things began to happen to James soon after the Rain of Fire stopped. His body never aged in the eleven years after. He never grew hungry, nor had the desire to. He soon learned that he was gifted with a magic that he had never heard, nor seen. What caused this drastic change is unknown. But it made no nevermind to him, during the eleven years he used the magic to his advantage and taught himself to master the power.

Keep you waiting long enough?

VERY Sorry for the delay. I would have posted sooner, but I had to explore a new angle on the story line before setting off. Anyway, it should be up within the hour.

PS I don't think I'll be posting in this enough, so if I'm absent for a while feel free to off my character or whatever.
