Von chuckled and continued to sing, tossing the ball back and forth with her. He stopped singing suddenly and cocked his head. He continued tossing the ball, often catching it without looking.
Hmm...odd...I feel so...happy...with her...strange feeling...but....nice...
"Why did you stop singing?"
"...Arian and Halas are coming..."
He began to sing again, and continued to toss the ball back and forth. When Halas entered the door holding a box, Von swiftly threw the ball at him.
"Think fast!"
He grabbed it and stared at Von, who merely smiled back.
"Wanna play?"
Arian came in behind, also holding a box.
"Did anyone else see these?"
Ciarra looked up.
"Yeah. We did."
Halas tossed the ball back and Von returned to Ciarra.
"Not that Im complaining or anything, but are we just going to stay here the rest of our lives? I mean, its a nice place but Im kid of edgy. I want to learn more about our pasts, and who did this. Besides, I think the old lady may get irritated with us if we overstay our welcome!"
He missed the catch and fell backwards as the ball hit between his eyes again.

Arian popped open her box. Inside was a disc - it looked something like a CD, but with sharper edges. It wasn't labeled at all.
"Interesting..." she muttered, picking up the disc and flipping it over.
Ciarra looked over with interest. "There's probably something important on the disc, ya know."
Arian rubbed the back of her head. "Yeah, that sounds right."
Von stole a glance at the disc after he recovered (yet again) from being basched in the head by his tennis ball. "Yeah. I'd agree with Ci here."
Halas picked up a box with his name on it. "Should I?"
Arian shrugged. "Do it whenever you like."
"Okay." He put the box down again and smiled.
Heh. First time I've seen him smile. Makes him kinda cute.
The four sat down on the porch, Von still bouncing the tennis ball against the house.
"We really don't belong with them," Halas said, tapping the lid on the top of the box.
"Nope. Not at all," Arian replied, spinning the disc on her finger.
"Maybe we should just...leave," Ciarra said finally.
"Yeah. Pick up our sorry hides and get the hell outta here," Von added, still bouncing the tennis ball. "We're the misfits. We're the only ones that don't seem to agree with the depressed and kinda bitter people.
"Hey," Arian pipped in, "Four's a good number. And it's not so weird - two girls, two guys."
"Yeah, but who knows what'll happen, especially with these two," Ciarra giggled out, pointing at Von and Halas. Von put on a grin, while Halas made a snorting sound.
"Paah. Like we'd do anything to you two," Halas retorlted.
"What? You trying to say something Halas?" Arian said with a smirk on her face. "That we're not good looking? C'mon. You were my partner in the underworld in eating little kids." She put on an insane grin.
"...You're scaring me now," Ciarra huffed out.

OOC: next repley is gonna be wedsday My bro got WoW so i am almost kicked off the computer only get enough time to check E-mail and posts.
-------------------------------------------

Walking back to the Old lady?s house Kredion pondered what would happen if he got stuck moving at a super sonic pace upon further thought he realized it wasn?t pretty and moved on with his thoughts. He started thinking about the other meta-humans and how they would be effected by the events that would happen to them. As he turned the last corner he forgot to watch where and nearly tripped over someone he quickly regained his balance and walked around the person when it struck him that he unknowingly used his power to do that. While glancing back it seemed the young man was to enthralled with his talking to two young ladies to notice anything else.

Staying on the far side of the street Kredion moved back into the position he was before observing Von and Halas talking to Arian and Ciarra and for some weird reason von wasn?t smiling which struck Kredion as odd Glancing around he didn?t see but a few people passing by. Reaching back into his backpack he pulled out a two day old paper and started reading some of the stuff in it but every now and then he glanced up and checked on the others it seemed they didn?t notice him but that didn?t bother him much. It was al most better that they didn?t however he hoped that each of them got their box for they each had a memory or a strand of memories for them. All it took was time?. The only thing they didn?t have.

OOC: Well, let's see.....

IC: Albel looked at the girl. She looked very beautiful in the moonlight. Her slender figure, that gorgeuous face. Albel couldn't take his eyes off her. Albel shook his head and started to come back to reality. He shouldn't stare at her, but he just couldn't help it. She was so beautiful. He started to blush as he walked up to her. "Well, my apologies miss, but we haven't been properly introduced. I am Albel and what may I call you Miss?"
"Ummm, not sure."
"Hmmm?"
"I'm not sure what my name is"
"You too eh?"
"What do you mean?"
"There were tons of us that didn't have a name back in the dessert. I just made one up for myself, since I don't remember mine. Maybe the lab that you work for can help you"
"What?"
"You're wearing a lab coat, are you not? You must be from somewhere."
"Well, this isn't mine. I stole it"
"From where?"
"I'm not sure. My head is foggy."
"Hmmm, maybe this lab that you stole it from might help us" Said Albel, with a devilish grin. "Come with me. We shall learn of our past." As Albel started to walk, he fell to the ground unconsious. He started to visualize a memory.

Memory

There was a boy in a lab. This lab had great facilities and gadgets from the looks of it. The boy, he was on a table, being treated by.....something. It looked horrible. There were many needles going into the boy. The boy was struggling and letting out moans of pain.
"ARGH! Why are you doing this!"
"You accepted our terms and now you are our subject."
"I never agreed to these"
"You had no choice."
"Damn...you!" the boy said, still strugling.
"Proffesor, his levels are at critical. Maybe we should let off."
"No. If he is strong enough, he will survive."
"What, are you doing to me?"
"We are making you better. The world had no use for you, so we gave you one."
"So, you're saying that I'm not wanted?"
"Exactly"
"ARGH!" The boy pulled his arm as hard as he could. The holds that were at his wrist were starting to crack.
"He's starting to break free!"
The boy broke through the holds and was about the go for the doctor that was doing all the talking. But he was stopped. He felt a prick go in his right arm. When he looked, he saw that it was a dart. Everything started to go black. The boy collapsed.
"Continue with the process. He shouldn't be awake for another couple of days. That'll be enough time to finish."

End of memory

Albel got up. "AH!" both the girl and he screamed.
"Ugh, I had, a weird dream. But, it seemed more like it was like life."
"Huh?"
"The boy in the dream, looked like me. He just had partially blue hair and it wasn't as long as mine. I think that that kid WAS me."
"Maybe you're right. This lab just might give some answers to us."

OOC: There I posted, now will you people stop bugging me? Sorry that it may seem long.

Halas meandered down the dusty streets with Arian, Ciarra, and Von walking alongside him. Ciarra was sticking close to Von. Huh, naturally, she was obviously falling for him; hard. Arian was fairly close to him, but he still felt like an exile. He had not even spoken to some of the others. Whatever. This...this was nice, drifting from shade to blistering sunlight to shade again with the only people he could call friends. Arian looked at him, bowing his head as he walked, and piped up:

"What's wrong?" She said. Halas looked up at her.
"...Nothing." Halas shook his head, Arian looked at him discerningly.
"Sometimes a little nothing can mean a lot of something." She said.
"Yeah, Halas, if something's bothering you, it's definantly better to get it off your chest." Von replied.
"Huh, 'something' has been bothering him since we got here..." Ciarra murmured. Halas shrugged.
"Where has everyone else gone? I've barely talked to anyone but you, and Hashu-"
"Hashu can go screw himself, for all I care. If he's been gone this long, he isn't coming back. Either he found somewhere better than here or he's dead." Arian said; Ciarra looked at her wide eyed, but Halas smiled.

[Well, it's good to know that these people think like me.]

They continued on in silence, moving aimlessly through the city. Finally a bored Ciarra looked over at the others.

"Is there anything to do in this town?"
"Besides terrorizing little kids and eating? Probably not." Halas replied. Looking around, Von nodded at Halas.
"Yeah, this...town is kind of dead." Von replied. Halas nodded slowly, and walked over to a bench bathed in sunlight and dropped down onto it's warm, stone surface. Arian sat next to him, and Ciarra and Von sat on the far end. Halas halfheartedly wished for another 'vision', but nothing really came to him. Still, augments? What the hell were they talking about? Who was 3173? Someone in their group? He shook his head, trying to avoid a conversation.

[Why? What reason is there to hide from these people?]

Still, even as they sat in silence, these questions plagued his mind...

((Well, nothing really interesting going on, so lets make something happen!))

Von unfolded a large map. The others looked at him in surprise.
"When did you get that?"
"It was in the house. I figured we could use it to find someplace better to go then this...barren."
He began to rattle off a list of cities and towns. He paused when he read one out loud.
"St. Helga..."
He froze, still staring at the map. Ciarra shook his arm carefully.
"Von?"
"That name...sounds familiar..."
He snapped back to reality, then traced the path with his finger. He looked at the others.
"This place sounds familiar, like I should know it but cant place it. Um...may we go there next?"
He looked at them eagerly, folding the map.

OOC: I must've not payed attention, because I didn't know that those guys knew his name was Hashu, when HE doesn't even know his name. Well, this is my first post as the Helldog experiment.

IC: As project Helldog travelled through the land, in search of something that would answer his questions. He ran as fast as he could, which made him run faster then anything on this world. He ran at great speeds, with the combined speed of 3173,3715, and 3136. His speed was faster then light itself, which made him a deadly threat. As he ran more, he finally came upon a lab. It was on the plains, vast plains. Helldog went inside the lab without tripping any alarm. Walking in, he hacked into the nearest computer that he could find. Helldog, was into the lab's network system within a matter of five minutes. Helldog was in the computer database. Looking on the menu, he decided that he ought to search for exactly what he was. There were many things that he could have went into, but he didn't know exactly what. He went into many files, but none led to what he was or who he was. He went into 'Genetic Experiments', but there was nothing on him in this lab. He let out a groan. Then he said to himself," I'm not from this lab though" He then started to search for a lab that was in the dessert. There was only one result, which was the Hitokari Research Facility. He went into the genetic experiments for that, but, he had been found out in the system. Every alarm in the facility went off. Helldog hid in a dark corner and turned invisible from 666's powers. The security came in as quick as possible. Helldog wasn't going to deal with this, so he used the Pyrokenisis, a great gift from experiment 3193. Everything living was burnt to a crisp. Now Helldog could find out what he wanted in peace.

OOC: Silvercyclone, I congratulate you.

IC: The plan was set, well, as much as this plan could be set. First off, St. Helega was two days walk from the town, and Halas had no idea if it would be any different from here. Nevertheless, anything had to be better than waiting in this dead-end town. Halas was getting water, lots of it. He slung the tall, cumbersome water pouch over his shoulder. It alone weighed about five pounds, and would be combersome to carry when it was full. He handed the last of their money to the old man behind the counter.

[You'll thank yourself later, Halas.]

The man at the general store looked at him from behind a dusty pair of goggles as he walked out, carrying the pouch.
"What're you planning on doing, son?" Halas stopped at the door. He was hesitiant to say, but what harm could it do, really?
"I'm heading out, probably to St. Helega or somewhere around there."
"Helega?" The old man made a tired laugh. "Well, son, I hope the sand doesn't kill you before the nomads do." Nomads? Like the people that Albel had taken the sword from? They didn't look too formidable. Besides, they could probably handle a few of them. He turned to the old man.
"Thanks for the warning, old man."
"You know, it might be safer to wait for the freight that comes down the trader's road each month. It'll be here in about two weeks, I reckon." Halas shook his head as the old man croaked out the last words.
"No, we're leaving now. If I meet my end on the dunes, well, then, I probably should have waited for the freight." The old man cackled, leaning back in his chair. Halas made a small grin, and walked out to the old water pump outside the general store. After the pouch was full, it weighed about thirty pounds, but it didn't feel too heavy on his shoulder. He carried it over to the bench, where Von stood, looking at the map. Halas set the water down, Von nodded.

"That'll have to do." He said, looking back at the map.
"It's about thirty pounds. Yeah, it'll do just fine." Arian walked down the street, carrying a backpack. She set it down and opened it. Huh, full of dried meat and bread. Halas looked at her.
"How did you get all this? We're broke."
"The old lady at the inn gave it to me. I took the backpack from there, too." She replied, grinning. Huh, she was rescourceful. Ciarra wandered to where they were, carrying nothing.
"I couldn't find any weapons whatsoever. This town is completely weaponless!" She said, dropping onto the bench. Von shrugged, rolling the map up. He looked at them, contemplating what to say. Finally he spoke:
"So, are we ready to go?" He said, smiling.

Vaxla had been following Albel even since the arena. As dawn neared, she became worried about how she would keep up. He would outclass her pysically durring the day, as she became stronger at night. Then, Albel met the girl. f Albel was going to stay with her, he'd have to slow down, making it easy for Vaxla to keep up. Of course, she couldn't become invisible durring the day, but somehow, she knew how to conceal herself, even in a barren desert. She was convinced that the knowledge came from her forgoten past. As if triggered by that thought, a memory hit her fully.

Vaxla was being escorted by three armed men into a lab of some sort. She hadn't wanted to go with them, but they'd made her. There was a lot of equipment in the room, and several people who looked like scientists. One of them moved closer to examine her.

Vaxla knew how to recognise an opportunity when it presented itself. She grabbed the man, then spun him around herself and into the fire from the three men, using him as a human sheild. She tossed the scientist into one of the men, stunning him long enough for her to get behind him and grab him by the neck.

"Stop shooting!" another of the researchers shouted. "This is expensive equipment, and it's not exactly easy to replace." The cientist turned to Vaxla."What do you want?" he asked.

"To leave. I have no desire to remain here."

"You've seen too much to be allowed to leave."

The other two armed men dropped their guns and charged Vaxla. She released the man she was holding and countered their charge. Eventually, the one she'd been holding recovered and joined the battle. Vaxla put up one hell of a fight, but eventually the three men managed to subdue her. A scientist stepped forward and injected her with something. She soon lost conciousness.

That was a lab, Vaxla thought. They must be responsible for me and the others. Unfortunatly, the lab where I woke was destroyed. However, it's possible that there is another. I must search for it. maybe there, I can find answers.

OOC: Yay! We're going on a journey!

OOC: Ciarra and the others nodded and stood up when Halas asked them if they were ready. Cia shifted her shoulders so that the loose T-shirt she was wearing fell back into place instead of slipping as it had been. She was slightly embarrassed that she had not come back with anything as the others had, but shrugged it off. It wasn't her fault that this place had no weapons...

******(Passing of time)******

Around 4 hours later, the quartet was still walking, Halas carrying the water, Von gazing at the map and checking the surroundings, Ciarra carrying the pack. Though neither of them tired of carrying the weight of the food in the pack, Arian and Ciarra switched off so that neither of them would feel like they weren't doing anything. It was just kinda something that they knew they didn't want to feel, and prevented it by sharing the work of carrying the pack.

Ciarra had started hearing noises again, like the voices of the mice that she had heard in the old Lady's house, but these had a different tone to them. Some had a hard tone, others a...trembling one, and then there were the once that she didn't like at all, the ones that actually seemed to have a tone of hate behind them. She tried to ignore the words of those ones. She knew they were all animals, but she didn't see any of them. The barren land was void of any visible life besides the large cactuses and the brown and dying prickle bushes that popped up occasionally. She attempted to speak back to the voices, but they would go silent when she tried. Is it just that I can hear them...but not speak to them? she wondered after she had tried the 5th or 6th time.
"Ciarra...Ciarra..."
Ci looked up and around at Arian, who gave her a questioning look with a smile.
"You were spacing out. I figured I should bring you back before you got lost in the abyss of your mind." Arian stated matter-of-factly, then took the pack.
"Oh...um...thanks." Was Ci's reply, then she looked in the direction of Halas and Von. her heart beat a little faster when she thought of Von, and she wondered if it was bad that she might possibly be falling for the man. She blushed at her own thoughts, and removed her gaze from the two men and continued walking. St. Helen was somewhere ahead, and maybe some answers would be found there. Until then, she would continue to try to puzzle out the voices and her ability. What else was there to do in a place like this?

*picks up chibi soda* It's good! XD
----------------------------
Arian began tapping Ciarra's shoulder until she finally got a response.
"Huh?" Ci asked stupidly, dropping her jaw.
Araian cracked up. "Nothing." Each of their eyes wandered off to the boys ahead of them: Arian to Halas and Ciarra to Von.
There came a distant rumble in the distance. Squinting, the four saw what appeared to be troops from the biker gang from the previous day.
"Are these the 'Nomads' the shop guy told me about?" Halas wondered aloud as the rumbling become louder. Von shrugged.
"Who cares. They're going DOWN!" he bellowed like a street punk.
The biker thugs gained distance until they scooted to a hault, tracking up clouds of dust. The four squinted slightly.
"Hey, look!" one of the bikers said, jerking a thumb at Ciarra and Arian. "Two girls on them! Maybe the boss'll like them!"
Another nodded his head in agreement. "As for the guys; we need some target pratice, eh?"
((OOC: *looks at Aiyanna, who's laughing like crazy.))
(IC) "Hnn. They don't look so hard," Halas grumbled.
Arian turned and looked at him strangely. "But do you even know what your powers are?"
Halas blinked. "Uhh...nope."
By this time, Von had slammed his palms onto the ground, creating a huge earthquake and giving the bikers a nasty shock.
"What the hell?" the first one exclaimed, staggering up. "What kind of shit is this?"
Ciarra made a little "meep!" noise and suddenly morphed into a hawk. Awed by her sudden transformation, the hawk-Ci began swooping around, aiming at the bikers' faces.
"Argh! This sucks!" Arian whined, doding bullets from the second biker's gun that he had pulled from a pack on the bike. She had been winding her way through the desert, slowing making her way to the man, before shooting her hands out in front of her. The next moment, a large force pulsatied from her hands, and then man was knocked flat on the ground, dead.
"Weird..." Arian muttered, investigating the man closer. She cringed at the sight: His skin had been completly pushed in, outlining every bone in his body, and giving the ghastly appearance of a zombie.
Ciarra suddenly swooped down and morphed back into her normal self beside her friend, gasping as she touched the ground.
"That...was weird...It just...suddenly happened..."
"Me too," Ci said, relaxing her muscles as the cry of the first biker man rang out.
---------------------------
Meh...Fight scene. I suck at these.
On a different note...I was exploring the sign-ups for this and discovered that, when the four of us signed up, the girls ended up on top of the guys:
Arian
Halas
(Four posts later)
Ciarra
Von
It's destiny I tell ya.

Halas had no idea what to do. He didn't know his power, hell, he didn't even know if he had a power. He grabbed the gun off of the first biker and looked at the clip. Empty. He looked over at Arian, who was looking at her hands with a look of disgust and curiosity. Ci was obviously confused, and sat down in the sand. He tossed the empty gun to the ground, and looked out at the dunes. One of the bikers had fled.

"All that work and we don't even get a weapon." He said, kicking the empty gun. His mind was troubled. Well, it was always troubled, but it was more so than normal. What if he was an outcast from the outcasts? What if he had no powers? Everything began to darken, and then...Halas collapsed onto the dunes.

Halas was on the cold, steel table again. Two doctors paced around him, looking at his body, which was still covered in acupuncture holes. They murmered to themselves, not talking to one another, and one was taking notes on a palm computer. Finally, one looked over at the other.
"Do you think he's going to die?" The doctor said. Everything was blurry, but he recognized that at least one of the doctors was a woman. The second was slow in responding.
"...It doesn't matter, you know." The second voice was gruff, older, and weathered.
"I just don't want to waste our time on an experiment that won't live to use the...gifts, we have given to him." The female doctor replied.
"He'll live, but this one is...different from the others." The man's voice was cold and emotionless as he said this. "His gifts tend to fluctuate in power. We have a long way to go before he is what we want him to be."
"Fluctuate? Could you elaborate on this, doctor?"
"At some times, the pyrokenisis is very potent, enough to create a nova of flame that could go for kilometers in all directions, yet at other times, it makes a flame the size of a cigarrette lighter's flame."
"That will have to be f-ixe-d..." The voices trailed off, and everything went black...

Halas awoke, looking into the clear sky. Von and Ci were looking down on him, and Arian was kneeling by his side. He woke up in a cold sweat, but seemed otherwise alright.
"Halas, are you okay?" Arian said, helping him up. He looked at them, grinning.
"Halas? Is anyone in there?" Von said, looking into his eyes. Halas paused, he finally knew something about himself.
"Fire." He said, simply.

OOC: Didn't have much time, this is a bit short for me.

"Beg your pardon?"
"Fire. I can create fire."
Von stared at him for a full two minutes. He began to laugh.
"Haha! Useful in the desert! Well, its good to know you'll be of use in the next fight. You alright Arian? Ciarra?"
The girls nodded. He helped Halas up before turning to one of the bikers. The man yelped and ran. Von raised his fist, making a massive sand hand rise over the man.
"Sorry. But you arent going anywhere!"
The hand fell on the man, and then dragged him towards Von. Von crouched down, smiling at him.
"Sorry buddy. I'll let you go when you answer my question. How far is St. Helga?"
"St...St Helga? Around two days that way sir!"
Von stood up and stared off at the direction. He flicked his hand, sending the man flying into the air.
"Alright. Thanks."
He began to walk again, when a thought occured to him.
"Hey! Why dont we use *CRASH* the bikes?"
Te man fell on the bikes hard, breaking several parts off. Von winced.
"Hmmm...nevermind about that then."
"Why did you throw him up in the first place?"
Von paused then scratched his head.
"Because he was disrespectful to you girls. And I wont tolerate that from anyone."
He smiled and began walking again, humming the song from earlier.

OOC: ::Yawn:: well I guess the fight was a little...entertainment...we really need to spice this up ya' know? But I don't think my post will help much...

IC: Ciarra hurried to catch up to Von, as his steps were quite larger then the ones her small feet could make. She glanced back at the man who had fallen among the bikes and sighed, a bit in pity, a bit in irritation, and a bit in gratefulness that he had somehow forced her to change her shape without really thinking about it.

Her body still tingled slightly, and she felt like she was missing something, back in her human shape. The lack of wings was awkward, and oh, how she had relished the few moments of flight she had had. She smiled then and slid her hand into Von's. He glanced down at her surpised, but his expression changed into a smile at the sight of the one on Ci's face. He gently squeezed her hand, and she squeezed back, though she figured her small hand probably didn't make much of an impression on his hand. He probably barely felt it. Ah well..."I guess I beat you to the flying thing." she stated in a quiet voice, so that neither Arian or Halas would hear.
Von nodded and still smiled. "But I still have to take you, I bet you're going to say."
"Of course of course! I'm a bit shaken from changing shape like I did, and I think I will wait a little while to try it again...I hadn't expected to try for a long time..." She shrugged. "A promise is still a promise, and you still have to take me someday." Her smile widened as she looked up at him. Gosh...he probably knows how I feel about him now...I hope he doensn't feel the exact opposite of what I feel... She blushed and looked down as they continued walking.

((Lets get out of the desert then...))
-------
This is...nice...
Von smiled broadly as he continued to walk. He made idle chit chat with everyone as they continued, but never let go of Ciarra's hand.
----*two days later*----
They set foot in St. Helga, which was little more then a small town. A small, deserted town. Von looked around, thinking hard.
"...should...should I remember this place? It seems so...familiar, but I cant place it..."
The houses were in disrepair, and nothing looked alive. Von tried to open a door, but found it locked. Halas looked at him.
"Well, cant get in there anyways."
Von smashed his fist through the wood, unlocking the door. He stepped in, breathing in the musty smell of rotting wood. He rummaged through a few things before turning to the others.
"See if you can find anything of use to us. Weapons, food, water, weapons, did I mention weapons? Something isnt right with this place..."
Von moved up a flight of stairs. A few bumpings were heard as he moved around, followed by a loud crash. He fell back down the steps, landing in a jumble at the bottom.
"Ooooohh...damn...rotting wood...watch your step by the way..."

Clouds shrouded the moon above, making it very hard to see. The city was emptied, which really brought up more questions than answers. Why was it deserted? If the people were killed, where were their bodies? Why were they not told that Helega was merely dust in the wind? Ciarra and Von were out looking about the villiage, and Halas stood alone on the outskirts. Suddenly, he heard rustling in the woods. He quickly whipped around and held his fists up. Nothing, there was nothing behind him. his mind must be doing a real number on him. Suddenly, he heard Ciarra's voice coming from one of the empty buildings.

"Uh...I found something!" She sounded like she was trying to hide being repulsed. Halas joined the others as they walked inside the rotting building. Halas drew in the smell of rotting wood and decomposing flesh. Ciarra was looking down at a crumpled mass of blankets below them. A few pained moans emenated from the blankets, and Von moved forward towards it. A voice came from it, a pained, grunting voice:
"Come no closer! I do not wish to hurt you!" The pale, grizzled face of a man poked out of the blankets, and looked at them. His eyes were glazed, and he had a look of pain and madness on his face. Ciarra backed up, and bumped into a desk.
"Who are you?" Halas said, walking closer to the form on the floor.
"I...I am the owner of this place. This...was once my inn. The...it dragged the people from the village. First the women, then the men. The last of us...told the rest to flee, before it awoke again..." He trailed off, and made a stifled scream. He huddled back into his protection, and began to shiver.
"What...what took them?" Arian said, but there was no reply. A single, shriveled hand came out of the rags, pointed into the forest, and fell with a resounding thump onto the wooden floor. Halas looked at his hand, and a light began to brew in it. He held it out, to survey the room. There were drag markings and a few corpses on the floor, and the man's rags were soaked in red. The windows were shattered, and it looked as if people had tried to hide in here before something forced them out...and slaughtered them. Halas and the others immediately retreated outside, where the clouds began to clear.

[Well, something had to happen sooner or later.]

OOC: I am braindead...and what happened to the others?

IC: Ciarra glanced up at the sky, where clouds were gathering and obscuring the light from the moon. Despite that it was still quite warm out, she shivered and wrapped her arms around herself. The forest which was off to their left, had gained called all their eyes to it. Squinting her eyes, Ciarra tried to see into it, and after thinking about an owls eyesight in the dark, could focus on the tree line and a lttle way into it. The forest was veiled in darkness, and she didn't see anything out of the normal, but she guessed that whatever the man had been talking about would be further into it. She changed her eyes back to normal and slid over to stand next to Arian for a moment.
"What do you think he meant? What would kill people like this?" she asked, though she expected no answer.
"I dunno.but whatever it is has to be pretty strong to have taken out a whole city...either that or there are a few of em. But the man only mentioned one.."
"Maybe we should go check it out? I could..." Ci paused, "I could fly over it...or through it, in owl form. I could take on any form if I wanted to and try to find it. "
"Yeah, you could, but you shouldn't go alone."
"Well then you come with me. We'll let the men figure out if there are any survivors in the city, and we can go investigate the forest. What'd'ya say?" Ci's voice had an excited tone to it, and her green eyes sparkled in the darkness. "I'd like to see their reaction to us leaving anyways...and if they go with us, they will be all protecting. I want to do something for myself, find my true powers."
Arian nodded, andunder the cover of moodshadows, both of the women slipped off and headed towards the forest. Neither of the men seemed to realize their absense.
___
At the edge of the forest, Ciarra took a breath. Maybe leaving the men behind had been a bad idea...with Von around everything seem so safe...
Cia shook her head and looked at Arian, who smiled and saluted her. They both walked into the forest, Ciarra changing her eyes to that of a night animal, and Arian gaining her sight by adjusting to the darkness. THey stayed close to each other as they wandered deeper into the forest, and were aware of the tiniest noises.

OOC: Sorry dudes...I want to see your reaction when we leave you! ::wonders if they will come after the two girls...::

*sends her computer flying across the room for deleting her post*
-----------------------------
Arian and Ciarra covered more ground before deciding to sit down and rest. While they were prepared for the enviroment, the night air was tense, and made them tense as well. Arian sat down on a log she found on the ground, with Ci plopping down beside her.
"I hope they aren't sexist," Arian huffed.
Ciarra chuckled. "I don't think so. Protective, but not sexist. You know, out of the entire group, we're the only ones who are searching for the truth..."
Arian groaned at her friend's poetic words. "Yeah...only me, you, Halas, and Von." She startld giggling.
"What? What's so funny?"
"Voooooonnnn," Arian continued, dragging out the name in a drawling voice. "I am Vooonnnn," said in an Terminator voice. "I am here with my friends to discover da truth..." She began laughing immensly.
Ciarra giggled. "Yeah. He seems like the type to break out in the kind of voice. Tall enough too."
"Yeah. And you're so short." Arian eyed Ci suspisciously.
"What? WHAAAT? What is it? YOU'RE TOMENTING ME!!!"
"You and Von," Arian replied simply, and Ciarra blushed lightly.
"You and Halas," she countered, and Arian blushed slightly.
"Mwaaha. See? We're even. Now, to continue..."
They sat up, stretched, and began walking down a thick patch of trees.
"You know, this would be a lot easier if I did - THIS!" Arian shot out another force wave, and a line of trees bent down.
Ciarra blinked. "...I felt that."
Arian panicked. "Huh? WHAT? I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry!!!" she slurred.
Her friend grinned, but shook her head. "No, I'm fine. But I felt your power go through me..."
"Probably because you're my friend."
"Yeah, sounds right."
"Yeah, see, it probably wouldn't work on any of the others...it would just whack them to the ground..."
"You're overly violent, ya know that?"
"Uh-huh.

OOC: Too soon to post? Well, no matter, this is getting to be rather interesting.
-----------------------------
Halas was scouting out the villiage for weapons or any more signs of what could have done this to an entire town. The guns were gone, from everywhere in the town that he had searched. Fog was settling in on the forest, and the sun, barely rising over the hills, barely broke through to provide a small amount of light. Luckily for Halas, he had a light in his hands. He felt a small bit of guilt and worry for Arian and Ciarra. Or was it just Arian? He shook his head and wandered into a small cottage. Even in the small amount of light, he could see that it was empty. Still, he looked about, there was a cabinet with sparing bits of food. None of it had expired, meaning that Helega couldn't have been deserted too long ago. He kept looking, they definently had enough food.

[What about Arian, though...what if she got hurt?]

He suddenly heard Von yelling at him from across the village.
"Hey-Halas! I think I've found something!" Halas turned and ran into the cellar where Von was. Von was standing above a corpse, looking down at it. The corpse was wearing a tattered white lab coat, and had a book tightly clutched in his hand. Von was carefully yanking a gun out of his other hand. He pulled out the clip and looked in it. Nodding, he looked over at Halas.
"We've got ourselves a weapon." He tossed the gun over to Halas. There were three bullets left in the clip. Not nearly enough if they were up against something that could empty an entire town. Halas looked at the book, and pulled it out of the dead man's grasp. It was dusty, and some of the pages were torn out of the back. He set it aside and looked at the man that had been holding it. There were numerous cuts and lacerations across his chest and arms, and his glasses were cut cleanly in half. Von, however, seemed more interested in the book, he picked it up, and opened it, smoothing out the pages. His eyes widened as he read, and as he turned the page, he looked up at Halas.
"I think we have a serious problem."

OOC: I better post, before people start complaining.

IC: Albel and the girl stood in the grass as the sun came up. Albel looked off into the distance and could've swoar that he saw a dust cloud go by. This cloud was traveling in just a blink of Albel's eye. He tried to make out where it had gone. With Albel squinting his eyes, he saw just a very small spec far off in the distance. "There's something far off in the distance"
"Really?"
"Yes"
"I can't see it"
"Trust me" he said. He picked up the girl and began running as fast as he could. It wasn't as fast as before, but still, it was faster then the average man. Albel ran for about an hour until coming up to the spec. Turns out that it was a laboratory. "I think that this is the lab that you got that coat from."
"Maybe"
"I hope this will give some answers." he said as the two walked in. They walked in and saw that no one was around. There were just corps lying around. It was scary. They were burnt to a crisp, there was still smoke rising from them.
"Wait, if there is still smoke coming from them, then that means what caused this is still here. Prepare yourself." he said, putting his hand on his sword. He walked down the hallway, until he heard someone typing on keys. He walked down and saw someone on a giant computer. Albel walked and the figure turned around.
"Who are you? Are you the one that did this to these people?" asked Albel.
"Ah yes, I indeed did scorch these fools. But for the sins that they were doing, they deserved it." the figure replied,"But, enough about me, tell me who you are."
"That is none of your buissiness"
"HA HA! Just as I figured. You don't even know who you are. But I can tell you. You are Hashu Tonaka. Your life wasn't the best in the world. You were going to end it, until some men came up to you and took you away. They took you to a lab, where they transformed you into experiment 3173 or better known as Hacker. They genetically enhanced you, along with many other experiments. Your power was the installation of hyper mode. But, a side-effect of the experiments was enhanced stats as well. Your purpose was to look like an ordinary human, then set off to hyper mode and destroy the opposition, but since you had those side effects, you were going to be an assault weapon. I see that you still keep the interests of Hashu Tanaka. He was always a fan of Japanese Swords and liked to combine it with a claw."
"What? How do you know so much?"
"I have been searching this computer's database, to find out who I am."
"Then who are you?"
"I am project Aprales. The super experiment. I am what you and all the others are. Whatever powers you and the others have, I will have. I was meant to be the greatest among all of you."
"No way!"
"Yes. I also see that you found Miss Lily, AKA, experiment 1886. Experiment name, Ghost. Given the powers to turn invisible and go through solid objects. You weren't in the same lab as me, so I don't have YOUR powers."
"What?" said Lily.
"I know that this may be shocking to you, but this is true. You were made into experiments, because no one in the world wanted you. It was that which led me to believe that all humans are evil. Join me, so that we can kill everyone. We have the power, so join me."
"Not all humans are evil. There was one that took me in. She housed me, sheltered me, and gave me a place to stay for a while. I would never agree to such nonsense!"
"You don't have much of a choice. Either you join me, or die."
"HA! Me die to you!? That's a laugh." Hashu said, as he charged towards Aprales, with his sword drawn. Aprales just dodged every attack Hashu let out. Aprales was growing tired of this and sent out a force through to whole room. This force was strong. It sent Hashu all the way through the walls of the lab and even farther. Hashu couldn't tell where he was going to land at the speed he was traveling. Finally Hashu landed and everything went black. He didn't know where he was or even if he was alive.

OOC: Aqua, you can go ahead and decided what happened to Lily.

For the sake of the RPG, I'll post...even if I have nothing...
-------------------------------
Ciarra and Arian continued on through the dense forest, Arian knocking down trees and Ciarra pointing out random obstacles in the night.
A full moon was hanging overhead, shining in the forest, drenching all the green in a mesh of silver and white. Arian clenched her fist tighter. Something in this forest wasn't right.
"Did you hear that?" Ci said quickly, stopping dead in her tracks.
"No...What did it sound like?"
"A rustle...multiple rustles...something...unhuman..."
Arian relaxed her muslces and listened intenrly.
Suddenly, a huge creature lunged from the underbrush and clamped her to the ground. It snapped in ferocity, and growled as Ciarra attempted to get near it.
"Gah...Gotta try...knock it off..." Arian muttered, struggling to get her wrist in a position where it would project a sizeable force.
The creature just pushed down harder, and then, out of nowhere, Ciarra let out a shriek and collided head-first into the creature.
Arian sat up, wheezing. You know, if they made me something like a cyborg, you'd think they'd improve my respitory system or something... She looked at saw, to her partial fright, Ciarra as a wolf, digging her jaw into the creature's side.
It let out a yelp and let out a single, lonesome howl before relaxing onto the brush, dead.
There was a soft glow, and Ciarra returned to normal. She was, however, shaking from head to toe, clutching her jaw.
"I...I can't believe...I...I did that..." she stuttered, then collapsed onto the ground. "Why...Why did I do this?"
"You did it to save me. I would've done the same, ya know. I'm glad to know you think the same way as I do. Protect your friends, harm your enemies."
"Well, maybe not like that..."
Arian shrugged, stood up, and waddled ((XD)) over to the creature. It was too large and muscular to be a wolf, and walked almost like a gorilla.
"Well, this isn't gonna work for now...We need some sleep anyways."
With that, she lied down, curled up, and fell asleep.

***
Dawn

"Ari...Ari...Hey Ari, wake up!"
"Huh? Wha'? What is it? Ci? What's up?"
"You should take a look at this creature...whatever it is."
Arian snapped awake, suddenly remembering about the attack the previous night. She hurried over to the creature, and hid a small gasp.
It looked like a cross between a gorilla and a wolf - with the end product haveing white hair and looking somewhat like a bad mixture of the two. Red blood (from where Ciarra had bit it) was caked to the fur. Its hands were covered in blood, the claws on its fingers soaked in the deep red.
"It looks like...a balverine."
"A what?"
"Balverines. I've only heard of them in stories...I think..." Arian clutched her head. "Ugh, stupid memory blockage...But balverines are these powerful creatures that have no sense of friendliness. Everything is kill kill kill. They can decimate whole villages if they want." She stopped.
Ciarra's face lite up by suddenly being stuck by the same thought. "Is this...Would this creature perhaps be our culprit?"

Vaxla has spotted the far-off lab soon after her flashback, and had already been heading in that direction when Albel and Lily passed by. Because it was daytime, Vaxla couldn't keep up, but she was still pretty fast. She reached the lab after they did. She didn't stop for anything, not even to investigate the corpses.

The lab was dark enough to enhance Vaxla's senses, and she heard them before she saw them. She heard Albel say "What? How do you know so much?

"I have been searching this computer's database," a new voice said, "to find out who I am."

"Then who are you?"

Vaxla hid herself from sight and entered the rom where Albel, Lily, and the other person were.

"I am project Aprales," the new person said. "The super experiment. I am what you and all the others are. Whatever powers you and the others have, I will have. I was meant to be the greatest among all of you."

"No way!"

If that's true, than he knows I'm here, Vaxla thought. The darkness will allow him to sense my location without using sight, just like I can do.

"I also see that you found Miss Lily, AKA, experiment 1886," Aprales was saying. "Experiment name, Ghost. Given the powers to turn invisible and go through solid objects. You weren't in the same lab as me, so I don't have YOUR powers."

"What?" Lily exclaimed.

"I know that this may be shocking to you, but this is true. You were made into experiments, because no one in the world wanted you. It was that which led me to believe that all humans are evil. Join me, so that we can kill everyone. We have the power, so join me."

I wouldn't use 'evil', Vaxla thought, but he certainly understans humans much better than most people do.

"Not all humans are evil. There was one that took me in. She housed me, sheltered me, and gave me a place to stay for a while. I would never agree to such nonsense!"

You, on the other hand, don't know shit.

"You don't have much of a choice. Either you join me, or die."

I think I like this guy.

"HA! Me die to you!? That's a laugh." Hashu said. He charged Aprales with sword drawn. Aprales dodged every attack. Eventually, Aprales released a lot of energy. Thanks to her darkness-enhanced reaction time, Vaxla was able to avoid the blast. Hashu wasn't so lucky. Vaxla would be very surprised if he lived.

"I happen to agree with you, Aprales," Vaxla said, revealing herself, "even if I'd choose different words than you did."

"Vaxla Intunecat, Experiment 666," Aprales said. "Experiment name: Escuro. I was wondering when you'd show yourself."

"I like to be catious."

"I know. I've read your file."

"Then I assume you know what happened."

Aprales nodded. "Your boyfriend killed your parents."

"Exactly. That's one of the few things I remember. Not surprising that I have a realistic view of humans, is it?"

"After that, it would be hard to have a liking for them."

Vaxla nodded. "Very true. Anyways, I have no quarrel with you, and I see no reason for us to be enemies. I don't ally myself with anyone for reasons you can probably guess. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm against you. I am more like you than anyone else. Even though we disagree on the specifics, and even though we have different reasons, our views of humanity are basically the same. So do not consider me an enemy, because I have no reason to be one in your case. I am here for information, just like you, and that's the only reason why I am here. I have no intrest in helping these two. Do what you want with them."

OOC: Well, I just watched some RedvsBlue episodes, so this may sound more comical then needed.

~Dream~

Hashu was in something, but he didn't know what. It was filled with liquid and he couldn't open his eyes. But after a while, he could start to hear voices. It was faint, but he could hear people talking.
"So, explain to me the sideaffect again"
"*Groan* You're such a freakin moron! OK, you wanted the Hyper mode installed, right?"
"Yeah"
"We installed the Hyper Mode, but now, he doesn't appear like an average boy. You get what I'm saying so far?"
"I think so"
"Good. Yeah, his stats got raised up too much, so, we're going to have to turn him into an assault weapon."
"Whatever. Now explaing the Hyper Mode thing."
"What the? Why should we explain it to you? You're the one who came up with the idea!"
"I thought it sounded cool."
"Oh my god! You are such a dumb ass! Hyper Mode is where his stats are boosted ten times then what he normally is. Plus, he is in top condition every time he uses it. But he can only use it on a 24 hour basis."
"I think I get it"
"Good. How did a moron like you get to be lead researcher of the team anyway?"

~End Dream~

Hashu woke up. His face was lying down in the dirt, so he couldn't tell where he was. Everything in his body felt brokne. His legs, his ribs, his arms. He could feel that his gauntlet was dented and twisted up, along with his fingers inside of it. He couldn't feel anything in his body, not even his face. Hashu tried to think if he could get a way out of this.
(OK OK, if that dream was a memory, just like the last one, then I guess I should try to activate that hyper mode they were talking about. That must have been what happend back at the stadium. OK, I think that it's been about 24 hours since then, so let's give it a try.)
Hasu tried to look deep within himself to find the power he needed. After about five minutes, he had actually activated it. He sent a flash all the way through the forest. It would've been visible by anything that was in it. He hoped that he didn't attract too much attention. As the strength went back into Hashu's body, his bones, his ligements, and his nerves were restored perfectly. Even the gauntlet that he was wearing had restored to new. Hashu stood up and his Hyper Mode was gone.
"Well, at least I can defend myslf now." Hashu then heard a sound. Like something that was coming for him. "Better get ready. This just might be breakfast." Hashu said, waiting in the shadows of the trees. He saw a figure coming from the trees. Hashu lept for it, ready to attack. The figure though, unleashed something that sent Hashu back. Hashu landed on his feet and after the light came clear, he saw that it was two girls. They were from the dessert town!
"Albel? What the hell are you doing here?" asked the one he remembered to be Arian.
"Well, of all the things I was going to expect. You two weren't on the list"

OOC: I had this whole thing planned ever since you guys left that god forsaken dessert town. MUAHAHAHAHA!

OOC: Well...That was quick...::smiles:: I guess it's somethin to do!

Hashu...here? He had gone off and left us for some unknown mission type thing...why was he here? Ciarra thought to herself, and then giggled. Of course...he would have to turn up just when they were coming out of some dark creepy forest where some ape-wolf thing had attacked us the night before. Perfect timing, Hashu, right when any fiction novel would have had you appear.
"Well, I guess we have to deal with having a man around again." Ci muttered, though she was still happy to see him, despite that he had left out of the blue, and then appeared suddenly again. The forest creature had kinda shaken her, but of course, she would never admit that.
"Yeap...he's gonna go leading us around and trying to protect us. Wanna turn around?" was Arian's sarcastic reply. One look from Ci told her that they probably wouldn't go back in that forest for awhile.

Walking around, Ciarra glanced at the smouldered corpses and was careful not to bother any of them. She hadn't realized at first glance what this building was, and then, with a sick feeling in her stomach realized it was another lab like the one she had left behind in the desert. How many of these dratted things are there? Wait...would this lab be able to tell me anything about myself? Does it have my files? but yet...do I want to know...? all this buzzed through Ciarra's head as she walked past room and rooms until finally she came to one, where the computer screen was still on. It looked like the user had left and not bothered to turn off the machine. She paused in the doorway, biting her lip. She had a few memories, would more information about herself just make things worse?
For a second Ci just stood there, and once turned away from the room, but she turned back to it and entered, sitting on the seat in front of the computer. It was still warm...somebody had just left...
She gazed at the keyboard and wondered if it really did have her file...would she read it?

"...what do you mean, serious trouble?" Halas looked at the stunned Von.
"Balverines." There was a pause.

[Balverines? They sound...familiar, somehow. I don't think I've ever encountered one.]

"A Balverine, here?"
"Not a bavlerine, balverines, a whole pack of them." He shut the book and grabbed the pistol, immediately heading toward the door.
"What are you doing?" Halas yelled at Von. Von turned to him, a look of urgency and worry in his eyes.
"Ci, she's out there, unarmed, practically alone, against a pack of a dozen of those things!"

[Arian's out there, too...]

Halas nodded, and followed Von into the woods, grabbing the book as he left. It was quiet, spare the crackling of the leaves under their feet. The sun was rising swiftly over the forest, but it was still dark and cold underneath the canopy of dying leaves. Von had the gun in his right hand, and he was ready to activate his power if something caught him by surprise. Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes, and Von pointed the pistol into the dark. Halas made dual fireballs, ready to turn this entire area into a towering inferno if that's what was needed to take out a pack of Balverines. Suddenly, Ciarra walked out and both of them set aside their weapons. Arian followed soon, and Halas' heart and mind were set at ease.

"Where have you two been?" Halas asked. Ciarra nodded, and began to speak.
"Don't worry about the Balverine, we took it out." She said, glad to have put this behind her.
"Don't celebrate just yet, there's more of them." Halas handed the journal to Arian, and she looked over the scratched, bloodstained pages. Just as she finished, Hashu walked calmly out of the brush, completely unharmed.

"There's something all of you guys have to see." He said, motioning for them to follow. Von spoke up.
"There's a pack of Balverines loose in this forest."
"I don't care! There's something you all have to see!" Hashu stormed into the woods. Slowly, each one followed him. He led them to a small outpost, steel, with a single computer. Ci paled as she saw it.
"...I'm not going near that thing." She said shying away from the doorway. Halas was the first to walk in, looking at the dusty old monitor. Hashu followed, looking at it.
"This holds the secret to all of our pasts. I know now my purpose in this, and all of you can learn the true potential of your powers!" He said, ready to activate the terminal, but Arian interrupted him.

"Uh...we have company!" Halas ran outside, and saw that the entire area was surrounded by Balverines, at least twenty strong. He readied a fireball, and threw it at one of the closest creatures...
