Spiritbreeze
She stood in front of a doorway. It was made of carved stone and curved up to a point at the top. Misty, swirling lines of color filled the doorway, so that she could not see past it. Unable to see the other side, she did not want to go through; she was afraid. And then he appeared. She had no idea who he was, or where he came from; he just appeared next to her. They stood silently for a while. Then he asked,?Why do you not go through?? She answered, ? I am afraid of what I can not see. ? They were silent for a moment. ?Do you want to know what is on the other side?? She thought for a moment. ?Yes, I do.? Then she felt hands on her back, pushing her. As she fell through the doorway, she heard him laughing. Kyla opened her eyes. Her older brother was shaking her, "Wake up, wake up! Stop dreaming! Kyla, wake up!" Sitting up, she shook her head. "What happened?" "You had another nightmare. Are you alright?" He looked worried. "Yeah, I'm fine. Now get out, I have to get ready for school." At school, Kyla was distracted in all of her classes; she kept thinking about her recurring nightmare. Her friends asked her about it, but she would only tell them she was tired. Which was sort of true, considering the dream didn't really let her sleep. At lunch, she accidentally bumped into someone. "I'm sorry," she apologized as she gathered her books off the floor. Standing up, she faced the stranger. "No, it's alright. I always enjoy meeting new people." Kyla froze. She knew him. She knew his voice. "You're-" He cut her off. "Just a friend." He passed her, whispering in her ear,"I'm waiting in your dreams." She turned around," Wait-" he was gone. Just like that, she had met the laughing stranger from her nightmares. Shivering, she felt cold. What had just happened? "Hey, Kyla, you okay? You look a little pale." Her friend shook her shoulder. "I'm, just a little tired. Can we talk after school?" "Yeah, sure. Let's get to class now." Kyla sat on her bed, waiting for her friend to show up. "Can I come in?" Her brother asked from the other side of her bedroom door. He opened the door when she didn't answer. She sat on her bed crying. "What's wrong?"he sat down next to her. "I can't sleep tonight. He'll come for me again if I do." "Who? What's going on?" Another knock on her door, and her friend entered. She saw Kyla's tear-stained face ," Okay, someone fill me in." After Kyla explained that she had run into a guy from her nightmare, the three sat in silence. "There's no way it's possible. I actually saw him in my dream, and then at school. It can't be real." Kyla mumbled to herself. "Maybe we should stay with you tonight, so you don't fall asleep," her friend suggested. They all agreed. That night, they all talked and watched movies and did everything to stay awake. But, of course, it didn't work. And Kyla fell asleep, tightly grasping their hands. Her brother and friend felt themselves being pulled, as though through something. And then they weren't in the room anymore; they had gone with Kyla into her nightmare. They stood together in front of the doorway. He was there, as always. "You brought others." He walked around them, watching them as they watched him. And then somehow, before they could react, he shoved all three of them through the doorway. And they all heard him laugh.
Spiritbreeze
Kyla felt herself falling, again. But this time, she had two others with her. 'Oh no, now I've dragged them into my dream. We're all going to fall. What if this time, we don't wake up?' she wondered. She tried to open her eyes, then realized they were open; they were falling through a dark nothingness.
Kitty
OOC: Please, Spiritbreeze, do not double post. You might get the thread closed. O_O And because I didn't specify in the sign-ups (sorry ^_^;; ) I am an other. Not Kyla's friend.. yet. ^__^ ~~~ IC: "Where.. am I?" whispered a girl in a field of flowers. She sat up and looked around. "I was on the couch.. Oh. Must've fallen asleep again." But then, she thought, how could she know she was dreaming? She had never been able to before. All her dreams were flashes of past incidents or tellings of the future. But never time in themselves. "Aw, crap. I'm getting to confusing. Better quit while I'm--" the girl started. She was cut off by the laughter of a boy. "Maybe.. Someone else?" she wondered. The girl sped off in the direction of the laughter, hoping to ask him some questions. And then, she stopped. In the middle of the flowers, the sky turned black. "I remember that laughter! It was him! The guy who keeps sending me here! Oh no.. Not this nightmare.." The ground began to shake, making large cracks and crevices in the ground. "Not again!" the girl panicked, picking up her running speed again. In one direction she ran; north. She could see a star in the middle of the clouds. The North Star, she knew. Loud growls and screeches protested her escape. A rock landed before her, having been thrown by one of the monsters emerging from below the ground. But she turned to see a boy. A young boy. He looked no more than four. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "No.. Brother, no! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! It.. It was an accident, but it was all my fault! If I had been watching... If I had seen it coming.. I.. I'm so sorry! Please brother," she cried. The boy smiled and walked towards her, but the girl withdrew. She recoiled and clawed at the rock behind her, trying to escape. "I didn't mean it! I'm sorry," she continued to shout. The boy continued waddling towards her. "I'm so, so sorry.." she sobbed. More and more she sobbed, apologizing over and over again. And then, the boy touched her shoulder. The girl looked to him and her sobbing quieted. Her tear-stained face was illuminated by the sun breaking through the clouds. "It's.. It's never ended... like this.." she muttered, beginning to smile. The boy, his hand still on her shoulder, winked at her, then began to walk away. "I'm sorry.." she repeated. "I know, sister. I know. Don't worry about it. Besides, you won't have time to feel guilty about me. You have a new purpose here in the dreaming. A very, very important purpose." "You.. You talked to me..." "A very, very important purpose," he repeated, still not facing the girl. "Well, good bye Tazz. And please, be careful." With that, he turned to face her. His smiling face showing nothing but joy and forgiveness, and then so did hers. "Well, it's time you got going." "When can I come back?" "You can always come back. Now.. Take my hand, sister." Tazz nodded and grabbed the young boys hand. Everything went black. Open your eyes, Tazz... Open your eyes, she heard a voice whisper. And so she opened them. She struggled to keep them open because of the wind blowing against them. And then she realized that she was falling. But everything was still black. She raised her hand to her face, but could not see it. "It's too dark!!" she shouted. Then make it light. You know you can, the same voice whispered to her. "Fine! I will!" And with that, Tazz concentrated. She concentrated so hard she forgot she was falling. But it paid off. The darkness that surrounded her was engulfed with light. And soon, she saw some shapes below her. Tazz knew her adventure in the dreaming would be with others. "Maybe it's with them!" she thought aloud, forcing herself further downward.
Frankie
ooc: I decided to post now anyways to at least get myself in here... IC: A dark shadow whipped past a bent tree... the tree was odd colored.. .green with blue and the trunk was colorless... like life was drained from it. The shadow hit another tree and its trunk also lost color. The shadow noticed something in the sky... "Ah... something doesnt smell right.." a growling voice said "either someones dreaming something new or this... isnt right... Hmm whats a girl to do... rhaaaaar" The shadow stuck her head out of the shadows... the long red snout of a pure fire breathing dragon came into view... she sent a blast of fire from her mouth and then dissapered... from sight again as the bent tree began to burn. -- ooc: Just a start but at least its here. Seibzeihn
Falling... Where...am I? What is this place? It's so dark....I can't see a thing... Rain could feel his hair whipping about his face as he fell downwards, from nothingness into nothingness. He felt neither cold nor hot, panicked nor calm, just...suspended in a place in-between reality and dreaming. It was an odd feeling, one that was hard for Rain to describe in words. As he continued his descent, Rain came to the sudden realization of how he had come to be in such a strange and unknown place. "Kyla? Kyla! Can you hear me?! Where are you?!" he bellowed into the darkness. The rotating image of Kyla appeared in the distance. She appeared to be falling, the same as he. Rain tried in vain to 'swim' through the darkness to reach her. "Kyla!"
Juusan no Kikyo
'... What am I doing...? What is this place? How did I get here? Why is it so dark? ... ... Am I ...dying... ...? These questions ran through Juusangou's head several times. It was so dark, and she couldn't remember a thing. It was like the darkness had seeped into her mind, and devoured every one of her recent memories. It was a disturbing thought. She heard faint shouts. They were muffled, though. Like she was underwater... Was she underwater? The bottom of the ocean was pretty dark... So they say. She squeezed her eyes shut. Why couldn't she concentrate? She opened her eyes again, and saw Rain. It looked like he was swimming. So she was underwater? Huh, weird...
Spiritbreeze
Kyla heard someone shouting; or she thought they were shouting, but it sounded very distant. "Hello!" she called out, hoping someone would hear her. She closed her eyes, feeling the darkness press in on them. Then, she stopped falling. Opening her eyes again, she blinked against the light and color that met her. A grey clouded sky loomed above her, and a cold wind brushed her skin. She could feel a sort of rough grass under her, and sat up. There were stunted, tall trees, and the grass was a strange turquoise color. "Juusangou, Rain, where are you?!" she stood as she searched for them.
Frankie
The shadowy character watched as people invaded her territory. She grew angry about it but decided to keep hidden... who knows what these creatures might do if they saw her like she was... perhaps she should change a bit... she though. "alright" she whispered to herself Her bones cracked and her skin changed and she was soon looking just like a human. "Ill go and greet our... new friend." She stepped out of the shadows... her red clothes stood out from the green and aqua colored trees around her. "Hello... welcome to the dream world..." kala
Tala stood alone on the edge of a rocky outcropping. Wind whipped the loose fabric of her black dress around her body as she stared outward. The view was so hauntingly familiar, and at the same time, completely different. The trees, the mountain she stood on, the hills below her, they were all in the same places. But the grass was a different color, the trees grew oddly, and even the rock she stood on was colored differently, carrying a blue tint. All a startling reminder that no matter how close it got, this wasn't home. She tore her vision away from the world and sank down into a sitting position, burying her head in her arms. Mentally she tried to push away what she was sure were the beginnings of insanity. A large eagle flew over her, landing gracefully next to her. Why are you here? he asked, cocking his head to one side and communicating with her mentally. You're sad when you come here, why? She glanced at him. I feel so alone and depressed. We will always be here for you, he replied, talking about all of his kind. But then why do you come here? There was a place like this in my world, one I used to go to to relax myself. I think I can do that here, too, but everytime I come, I'm suddenly struck by how different it is...Talking to him was helping her momentary wave of depression pass, and she stood up. "Come, let's go," she said aloud. The golden bird launched himself into the air, growing to enormous proportions before circling around and flying up to her. She leaped lightly onto his back, and they soared off, swooping through the air. Someone new is here, he told her. She glanced down, her sharp yellow eyes picking out the shapes of humans. A few things had changed about her in her long stay in the dream world, her eyesight was one of them. She also caught sight of one of the inhabitants of the dream world. Let's follow them. Her curiousity was aroused. But let's not get involved, not yet.
Kitty
Tazz rubbed her head as she kneeled above the ground. "That was sudden," she mumbled. She hadn't reached the others before the ground came swirling up to grab her. "Now where'd they go?" she wondered, looking around. She was startled by the off-color surroundings. She then thought for a moment and realized she had been there before. Not as herself, but through the eyes of someone else. A dream being? Perhaps. But she shook it from her mind. Tazz felt no need to start believing in such things. Not yet. She stood up slowly, still unnerved by the sense of deja vu. "Come on. Where'd they go?" She let out a sigh of exasperation before walking off towards some bent trees. "Hello... welcome to the dream world...." she heard a voice say, making her jump. "What the... who are you?" The girl stayed silent. The two stood silently for several minutes it seemed until Tazz lost her pacience. "If you aren't going to say anything, I don't need to waste time waiting!" She only took a few steps before she heard the voice again. Where are you going? "Away from her. I don't even know who she is and I'm tired of her. That a problem?" No. But why leave? You should find as many humans and dream creatures to assist you. "Assist me with what, huh?! Answer that! And why won't you show yourself to me?!" she started shouting towards the sky. The girl behind her watched silently. In response to her outburst, a large tiger, who had come out of nowhere, started running towards her. Tazz stepped back, preparing to dodge it if it would attack her, but she bumped into the girl. She stepped forward into the tiger. "Are you the one who's been talking to me?" she asked reluctantly. Yes. "Hey... Wait a minute. You're blue!" Yes? I am supposed to be blue... aren't I? "Well, regular tigers are orange." And I am blue while I should be orange? "Well... yeah." Then I shall be orange. And like a puff of smoke, the tiger disappeared a second, then came back the next; its fur was now orange. "Woah! How'd you do that?" We are in the dreaming. Anyone can do anything. "So.. say I wanted to be purple?" The tiger nodded. Tazz closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them to see her skin was purple. She laughed as she felt her now purple skin. It didn't feel any different. It was just.. purple. She did it again, returning her skin to its normal color, but her hair was a deep blue. "I might keep it like this," she chuckled, petting the tiger. "Oh wait. Why are you a talking tiger?" she asked, the question she had wanted to ask finally coming to mind. Because I am of the dream. I cannot change my original form. But I can appear different. Oh. Hello Everburn. Tazz turned to the girl. She glared at the tiger. "Hello to you, TOO, Tangible." "Tangible? THAT's your name?" No. But I prefer to be called it. It's my.. nickname, you could say. "Uh huh.. And you? You're 'Everburn', right?" Everburn nodded reluctantly, still glaring at Tangible. Guess she didn't want to be introduced just yet.. Tazz thought to herself, glancing at the girl. Then, she saw a few shapes several yards away. She shouted to them, waving. I hope they see me. Tangible walked over to her side while Everburn disappeared back into the shadows.
Frankie
She stared still at the area around her. 'Humans...' she thought as she walked towards a shadey spot. Once covered completely by shadows she began to change.... In no time she was a full dragon wings and all. She growled slightly and took off into the air. Her wings worked easily and they lifted her up over the trees. She glanced down at the human, "Hah... Good luck in the dream world.... You'll be needing it." She turned in mid air to head towards a large mountain... but turned back to say one more thing, "By the way... My real name is... Arika Lee... but call me everburn or I might just call you dinner." And with a laugh Everburn turned again and headed towards the mountain her wings pulling her farther towards the sky. --- ooc: moving again so i uh... wont be on for a day or two so... if i dont reply please dont think i just abandoned my part. Seibzeihn
"AAAAAAAAAAHH!!!" WHUMP Rain collided solidly with the ground below him, making a landing somewhat less graceful than his sister's. Suprisingly, he wasn't injured. Rising to his feet, he began to brush himself off, then caught sight of his sister a few feet away. Rain sprinted over to her, oblivious to the surreal landscape that surrounded them, and took ahold of Kyla's shoulders. "Sis! SIS! Are you OK?" he asked hurridly, checking Kyla for bruises or cuts. "Uh-huh, I feel OK..." nodded Kyla, appearing as if she was in some sort of daze, but Rain looked unconvinced. He thought for a second, then poked Kyla's ribs through her shirt. She squeaked and jumped back. "There, you seem to be fine..." grinned Rain. "That was uncalled for," said Kyla with a hint of annoyance, which quickly dissipated as she scanned the surroundings. Rain did the same. "Sis, where are we?"
