I ask myself this all the time, but I cannot figure this out I was wondering if there are any fans of these two groups.

I myself cannot answer this question I love Higher, but then there is Open Their Eyes by Alter Bridge with that amazing Bass Guitar solo I love it.

Both these groups have good songs with Alter Bridge being Creed just with a new lead singer but which do you believe is the better out of the two.

Well, though I've not heard Alterbridge's material...I can only assume that without Scott Stapp, their music is exponentially better, heh. Stapp's voice and pretentious "Holy Man" routine got real old, real fast, and his voice was godawful. I haven't even heard of Alterbridge, but if there's no Scott Stapp, Alterbridge all the way.

If Stapp is the singer for Creed, then I completely agree. I cannot stand that god-awful voice. Unless Alterbridge is Gregorian chant mixed with rap mixed with syncopated belching, it is 1000 times better than Creed. Heck, even Gregorian chant mixed with rap mixed with belching is 1000 times better...

I, for one, feel that Creed sucked. The singer, as previously stated, wasn't that good. No, if anyone has heard Alterbridge, then they know that the new lead singer sounds similar to Scott Stapp, but Stapp had problems. If you were to attend one of Creed's concerts, Stapp, occasionally wouldn't be able to proform, do to the fact that he has such a severe alchohol problem. :flaming:

4 fans ended up suing Creed, because Stapp was so drunk that he couldn't remember the words to the song, gave a poor show, and eventually, he fell off stage. :flaming:

I prefer Alterbridge, just for the fact that he's not there, but Creed was decent. But that's just my opinnion:smirk:

I'm going to go with Alterbridge.

Stapp's voice was so...God, I'm just gonna say I really disliked it. They did, however, have decent songs here and there. I heard about the fans suing Creed due to Scott's onstage shenanagans(probably spelled that wrong but you know what I mean) and that made me laugh.

So yes, Alterbridge get's my vote.

you took the words right out of my mouth, I can't stand both of them because of their god awful voices...

Apparently I'm in the minority about this debate. Most of you guys who have answered despise or are not big fans of either, whereas I've been a big Creed fan since Human Clay, circa 2000.

I've only heard "Open My Eyes", but from what I've heard, Alter Bridge may have what it takes to be Creed 2.0, or something more, inlcuding the reunion of all three of Creed's instrumentalist, and a lead singer with far greater range and depth than Scott Stapp (who has often been compared to a lite version of Pearl Jam's Eddie Veder).

Without guitarist Brian Marshell, Creed's "Weathered" album, though having some good songs like the anti paparazzi hit "Bullets", was more like a bland rehash of "Human Clay", and now that he's back, Alter Bridge can do way better. From what it seems, if Alter Bridge is a superior band in every aspect, the idea of Creed having their own Greatest Hits album and Alter Bridge being relegated to one hit wonder status, would be a crime, so Mark Tremonti and the gang needs to get off their keisters and start kranking out tunes.
