Right now I'm about halfway through Full Moon wo Sagashite. Izumi hasn't been introduced yet, but I think he should enter the show very soon, probably in the next set of episodes I watch. I absolutely worship this anime--filler, annoying rivals and all. To me it has the sweet, heartwarming feel and beautiful artwork of a series like Fruits Basket. Combining that with fantastic music and flawed but loveable characters is what makes Full Moon wo Sagashite truly great.

Under normal circumstances, for example, Meroko would be the kind of female character I'd be predisposed to despise. Yet in this show I can't help liking her. And for an anime that frequently relies on cliches (the mean girl who will stop at nothing to trip up the protagonist, etc.), Full Moon wo Sagashite can be surprisingly subtle. Takuto's
feelings for Mitsuki are slowly revealed to the viewer, rather than told outright. He becomes annoyed whenever Eichi-kun is mentioned, worries incessantly about Mitsuki--even if he doesn't show it!--and completely ignores poor Meroko.
I'm a huge Takuto fangirl, but I will be sorely disappointed if Eichi never makes a reappearance in the show, heh. That aspect of Mitsuki's past really needs to be resolved before anything else can happen.

If you want to write about spoilers, please be sure to use the proper tags by typing
text[/*spoiler], just without the asterisk. I apologize if you already know how to use spoiler tags, but Full Moon wo Sagashite is one anime that I do not want to have ruined for me.

what episode are you on right now...beacuse in episode like 50 or 51 i think
mitsuki confesses her love towards takuto and in the end they even get to stay together
and about eichi ever reappearing again you dont have to worry.
he actually died i think about 3 or 4 months after he gets to america so that gave mitsuki quite a shock when she goes to see him.
i agree that meroko would usually make a really annoying character but i seem to like her as well i think she provides alot of comic relief and in the end she really does help both takuto and mitsuki in different ways. in this anime i found that there wasn't really any characters that i really hate i mean while i was watching there were some that i didnt like but they always redeemed themselves later so i though that was a good thing... it made it more of an all around happy anime. i thought that the doctor dude ( i cant remember how to spell his name) and the manager ( cant remember how to spell her name either) should have gotten together, they would make a cute couple! :)

The only thing that annoyed me during this anime is that they only had like 5 different songs and they played them over and over again, ya sure they were great songs but you could at least come up with different backround music to play during the show and then use the songs that full moon sang for the end.

Well, I'm about to watch episode 39 (in which
Mitsuki is supposed to travel to America
for the first time). I can sense that everything is gradually coming to a head. I must admit, though it's arguably somewhat formulaic, Full Moon wo Sagashite has me completely stumped. I've simply got no idea what will happen from here on in; this anime's plot contains several very difficult dilemmas (such as
Mitsuki's desire to sing versus her upcoming death, Takuto's feelings for Mitsuki versus Mitsuki's feelings for Eichi, Meroko's relationship with Takuto and Izumi,
and so forth). I'm not even totally sure how I want these various situations to be resolved--however, I sincerely hope the ending won't be a cop-out. After all the drama and build-up, Mitsuki
really does need to die,
awful though that may sound.

Let's see... I've got how many episodes left? Thirteen? I'm going to try and marathon the rest of Full Moon wo Sagashite over Thanksgiving weekend. It's a great feel-good anime for the holidays. ^_^

You couldn't be more right about the doctor and Ooshige-san! I think they would make a very natural couple, and there are quite a few episodes which seem to imply that the scriptwriters were deliberately trying to pair them off.

Wow, I finished the last few episodes a lot earlier than I had expected, heh. I just couldn't bring myself to stop watching!

Suffice it to say that I am incredibly impressed and overwhelmed. Full Moon wo Sagashite may possess the single best ending of any anime I've seen. The show as a whole has certainly knocked Fruits Basket a few notches lower on my personal list of all-time favorites, something I hadn't thought could possibly happen. Not only that, but I can now state confidently that Meroko is my favorite female character ever.
Everything ended on a supremely hopeful note, yet it didn't feel at all corny or contrived. Even Izumi and Madoka were able to redeem themselves. I actually like the Izumi/Meroko relationship almost as much as I like Takuto with Mitsuki--it was clear to me that Meroko's words and actions had really changed Izumi for the better.

For a while there I was mortally afraid that either Takuto, Meroko or both would be forced to permanently sacrifice their lives for Mitsuki's sake, but fortunately that wasn't the case. I cried like a baby when I realized Meroko had become an angel and Takuto had become a human. Although the ending was absolutely perfect in every way, I could never have correctly predicted it, and in my opinion that makes it even better.
I'm very happy and grateful for getting the chance to watch this amazing series. I hope I'll also eventually find a way to read the manga. ^_^

Wow. The ending of Full Moon wo Sagashite was awesome. I?m rather disappointed in my self for having to read junk about it before I finished it ?.it would?ve been much better if I hadn?t known
Meroko became and angel and Takuto a human again.

?I?ve been watching it for a long time but I finally finished it on Thursday. I found a new site that doesn?t release a new episode twice a week and ever since then I?ve just been devouring the episodes? Anyways has anyone here both read the manga and seen the anime? I?ve done both and I?d be interested in hearing some people?s opinions between the similarities and differences of the two. Most sites that I?ve found on FMwS say that they prefer the manga over the anime but I?ve fond my self preferring the anime. In the manga
Meroko didn?t become an angel in the end and Takuto re-met Mitsuki during a concert she was having three years later? though also very sweet I find my self preferring the way Meroko led Mitsuki to Takuto? and I loved Meroko becoming an angel.
One thing I did prefer about the ending in the manga is
how they ended up saving Mitsuki?s life. Meroko, Izumi, and Takuto went to the Shinigami world to erase her name from the book. And it turned out that she wasn?t going to die anyway.
I could go on and on about the ending but I?ll stop now ?I?ll just say one more difference that I preferred in the anime over the manga:
Eichi?s death. In the manga Mitsuki new the whole time? I much preferred her finding out in the show?

Now on to the anime?s end. I cried when
Meroko led Mitsuki to Takuto and Mitsuki and Takuto re-met.
It was just sooo sweet!!! I also really liked the part were
Meroko had the flash back of becoming an angel and was sent to ?.I guess take Takuto?s soul back to his body?
I think I was close to tears there? and anyone ever felt like those chills when something really touching or sweet happens? Cause I had them then?

I got volumes 1-4 of the manga for Christmas from my cousin. She told me it was her favorite series by far. I read it and the story is so cute.

I must say though, Mitsuki is quite a dark, gloomy girl. Despite the fact that she seems so hopeful, she really is depressing. And the fact she knew all along that
Eichi died on his way to America
, and she acted as if she never knew, it was quite sad reading that in volume three.

I've watched episodes 1-6 subbed so far. I can't wait until they dub this anime, it'll be one of the ones I'd like to own, no doubt. I've also heard rumors that "they" may in fact translate the songs in english and have someone sing the songs to attract more people? I wonder if they'll be able to find someone that can sing (or someone that has a semi-similar voice to the dubbing voice of the singers) for fifty...two? episodes! Hm... :animesmil

I'm excited to read volume five, when it comes out this april! :D
