Transtic Nerve
I was just wondering if anyone here likes the Killers. I know most of you have heard of them. On Monday night I saw them play at the House of Blues here in Orlando. They were fantastic. Thier debut album, Hot Fuss, has had awesome reviews. Thier music is very good, very unique, very retro. Very good stuff.
Bullet Theory
I, too, really enjoy the Killer's music. "Somebody Told Me" is one of my favorite songs, and I really want to buy their album...perhaps I'll get someone to burn it for me... future girl
I made a thread about the Killers a month or so back, it got nothing but I guess that's besides the point. The played in the Culture Room down here on Tuesday and I wanted to go but the tickets were impossible to get, damn scalpers and their expensive overpricing. They had been sold out for a while and so I missed my chance. A friend of mine went though, she said that the CD has nothing on their live performance which I do believe from what I saw on the $2 bill show on MTV. I absolutely love Brandon Flowers voice, and that whole retro feel they have. Good ol' synthesizers ^_^ Off the entire album there are probably four or five songs that I like which perhaps isn't much, but what I do like is just that good. It completely overshadows any complaints I might have about any other song. I love how he sings in this moch British accent and I'm really fond of the lyrics too. My favorite song is Smile Like You Mean It, for a long time it was about the only song I heard and it just brought up all these emotions. It's awesome. I hear they're coming out with a video to Mr.Bright Side pretty soon which I'm actually pretty excited to see. I'm sure they'll play it a thousand and one times on MTV2 though so yea. Juu
I'm seeing them at a gig on Dec 10th with MUSE!!!!, Franz Ferdinand!, Modest Mouse, Interpol, and Taking Back Sunday. I've only sampled a few of their songs, but I guess I'll go and download a few. >.>; Any suggestions in particular? [Edit:] Hmm, never mind. Just mass-downloaded. But two suggestions are "Someboday Told Me" and I think the other one is called "Jenny" that I like. But you are lucky you get to see TBS, Muse, and The Killers all in the same day or night, whichever one. But I do like The Killers. They have a different and more unique sound to their music, which something new is also good. The only thing that bugs me a little bit about their music is that it seems they "amp" it to much using electronics and it doesnt really have a [rockish] good sound to it. But I still like them.
KarmaOfChaos
I love listening to The Killers, but only for short amounts of time, because for some reason, after a couple of their songs it just gets obnoxious. I think my favorite song of theirs is either Mr. Brightside, because the melody is very nostalgic and I can relate strongly to the lyrics. Another one I liked a lot was "Andy, You're A Star" because it's so catchy and nice to just relax and bop your head to and sing along. Smile Like You Mean is a good one too, it has pretty spiffy lyrics. BTW: It's "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine" -Karma

Juu
Gah, they're ace live. :toothy: I've seen them once in SF and met all three guys from the band. Got two posters signed by each of them, so I'm sending a friend of mine (Red) one of the posters. He's the one who introduced me in the first place, so meh. _._ But hmm. The only song I've been able to get into from 'Hot Fuzz' is 'Somebody Told Me'. Guess it takes a bit more listening to. ..; *must know songs within fourteen days*

I, Colossus
The Killers are one of those bands that I heard, and was immediately disgusted. I really have a distaste for that kind of, 80's synthy sound. Also, I really don't like the song "Somebody Told Me". It's actually quite annoying. However, when I looked into them a bit more I discovered that I really enjoyed them. Hot Fuss is one of my favorite releases of the year honestly. IS this a whole tour, or is it some sort of festival, because I'd be very interested in going if it came anywhere near Texas.

I thought there was something about a 'Not So Silent Night' in Texas as well, but I'm pretty positive that they're not featuring the same bands. There's also a similar line-up for LA, only Keane, Snow Patrol, and Jimmy Eat World are also involved. Can't make it to that one, though. It's on Dec 11 - the very next day. =X And I haven't heard any songs from Taking Back Sunday, so er. o_o;

It's true that we have a Not So Silent Night here in San Antonio, but we have the worst line-up imaginable. It's like the opposite of my music tastes. Ryan Cabrera, Bowling For Soup, Switchfoot, Kevin Lyttle, and Gavin DeGraw. I hate all of them except Gavin DeGraw, who I've never heard of. The difference between San Fransico and San Antonio is infinite. :(

Baron Samedi
I have only heard 'Somebody Told Me', and I must say that it is a cool song. Sadly, I don't know about the rest of their music. If it is similarly styled to 'Somebody Told Me', then I'd probably like it though. Edit: I love MTV. Or their web-site, at least. I just streamed Mr Brightside [quickly, on dialup no less!] and I don't mind it. It has it's own appeal, and could certainly appeal to me on certain days. It is good, yes.
Red
I quite like The Killers, they strike me as something out of the 80's thats managed to take on a bit more of a mature approach to the music, while sticking to the same sound style. I met them quite a while ago while they were in London and the few songs they played were great then, I haven't seen them live since. Of all the songs on the album Believe Me Natalie, Somebody Told Me and Andy, You're a Star are my favourites. However, I did hear that they had put on American accents for some gigs and were considering it for their CDs - or something along those lines. If that's true my opinion of the band would certainly change, heh.
