Anime Strange anime

I was just wondering about some of the weird anime. The super milk chan show is a great example of this because it doesn't make much sense. One minute the president is talking to milk chan about a mission and then they're talking about desinger hair stylists. It is so strange but funny. What is the strangest one you've ever seen?Do you think its the animation thats makes it weird?

[COLOR=Navy][SIZE=1]Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi was pretty wierd to me when my dad first introduced it to me. As the series progressed, it still kind of kept its strange randomness. I enjoyed it. Then comes Super Milk-chan. I watched 2 episodes of it and never watched another. That series is just too strange for me. I really really really disliked it. I may just have to form a coalition against it.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Melody of Oblivion is very, very strange. It actually surpasses Revolutionary Girl Utena in terms of sheer symbolic weirdness, which is a rather astonishing feat. Of course, even to a first-time viewer, Utena can make sense on some deeper intuitive level. Melody of Oblivion just doesn't. Watching it, I was left with the feeling that the director was probably having the time of his life snickering at all the viewers who tried to work a serious meaning out of the sexual imagery and increasingly bizarre situations. The last episode provides some closure, yet the ultimate outcome is left entirely up to the viewer's interpretation, which just makes things more bewildering.

All of the anime mentioned so far have been purely or mostly comedic; Melody of Oblivion has its amusing moments, but for the most part it's pretty dark and dystopian. It's probably the weirdest serious anime I've ever seen, to the point that I occasionally wondered if the show was secretly some kind of huge parody.

I'm surprised no one mentioned FLCL. That one is definately a whacked out Anime. Once it was over some things made sense, but it was definately a big difference from the norm. Great message behind it all.

Another weird anime is Serial Experiments Lain, that's an anime I really like. Nothing ever makes sense and your always asking questions, even if your watching it from the start to end. Great message behind it all.

There's plenty of other weird anime I've seen, but the names escape me so...

Anyways I'd have to point out the first anime that comes to mind when I think of "Strange" would have to be Revolutionary Girl Utena. Strangest and most unique anime I've ever seen, even more so then FLCL, I still don't get it in a way. I like it but its still very bizzarre. I didnt think Milk Chan was weird or random, just stupid.

FLCL is an awesome weird show, that you wont understand unless you read something that has a proper explaination.

Another weird one is Excel Saga. THe first episode had me gouging my eyes out with a spoon. Anyone who dies in that show can be brought back to life by the vortex with arms that is aparantly a hooker.

I agree on Revolutionary Girl Utena, it's kinda odd at first but then it makes sense. Later on things just go totally weird, the movie just makes things even weirder,heh.

Another weird Anime, though only ten minutes, is Ichigeki Satchu Hoi Hoi San. It's about a little robot doll that exterminates bugs. It is down right hilarious to watch and I didn't think it strange, but all my friends think it is so I mentioned it.

La portrait de petit cosette, now here's an anime I can't believe I didn't mention earlier. This anime is visually stunning and dare I say...Lainesque. The difference between lain and this anime is that it's only 3 episodes and eventually most of what happened makes sense.


I think their's a couple more strange animes, but the names don't come to mind yet...

FLCL was kinda weird. A guitar in the head makes a horn shoot out of a kids head. Very weird.
The Excel Saga was insane. It called itself the quack experimental anime. She kills the creator of the show! That's crazy!
