Art Pokemon: Dark Tomorrow [Banner]

I've been plotting this particular idea for a year or two now. [b]Pokemon: [i]Dark Tomorrow[/i][/b] would be a more "adult" version of Pokemon, you could say. I always thought there should've been one so why not make it?

I made this graphic for funsies and help support my idea.

I'm not sure if it's my dad's resolution on his darn computer, but this image looks dark on this computer. On my other computer, the image is perfect. To get the best viewing of it, adjust your resolution if you must. Otherwise, I'll lighten the graphic if it's my computer's fault.

Anyways, this image also supports my first "image-and-graphic" graphic thingy. I'm not sure what to call it, but to explain it is I used my digital camera to take a picture (my hand and the Pokeball) and used the actual image with computer made graphics by me. Combiningness :^D I'm happy how it turned out.

[COLOR=SlateGray][SIZE=1]You've done a great job on choosing fonts. Since the ones you used are able to really soak up the effect and atmosphere of the shades or red and the black. They help make the image a bit more 'morbid' and add a bit of a serious touch. I think this is from the fact that the font of 'Pok'emon' has always been a type of bubble or 'chunky' type of text.

Great job with placements and effects, D.W. I love the fact that the over hanging border line above, Dark Tomorrow, has a shadow that falls exactly to the corner bottom tips of the lettering. I also like the movement that fallows the hand. And how it seems to trail to the side in a more flowing movement then the 'fast' effect. Nice job on keeping the glare/shine to the Poke' Ball.


You may want to change the border. It's very hard to see. I suggest either having three pixel lines. (Black, white, black.) Or have the two lines of black pixel together instead of one pixel apart. Also you may want to add a brighter shade of red somewhere to the single, thicker, stripe.


Other then those two things. Great job.

I just noticed a mistake. Throughout my first post I kept saying "resolution." My mind must be elsewhere. I meant to say brightness and contrast and stuff like that. But obviously you saw the image just fine, Ruby, so I guess I'm okay.

Thank you for the comments, though. I will look into the border idea and think about it.

I really do love this graphic, everything fits so perfectly and as Eikou said, the colour choice and the way you blended everything gives it a very dark look.

Basically, Eikou has picked up on everything I would have said, but I can't fault this because I could never do it myself ;_;[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Reminds me of Batman: Dark Tomorrow, which is a video game that I as a total Batmaniac refused to pay $7 for. For a brand-new copy at that!

My brother had a great idea about a Pokemon game, but I think that if I gave it away here he'd kill me using ninja foo. Let's just say that it would be rated 'M' and feature a variety of traps, weapons, and "trophy-creation" tools. And it would sell.

As for the banner, it's pretty good. I think the "Dark Tomorrow" text clashes too much with the "Pokemon" text, though. As a result it looks quite fake. Try reconciling the two somehow... maybe ditch the original Pokemon font.
