With a roaster of social dysfunctions, nervous disorders, bad tempers, and sheer incompetence rivaling their superpowers, the Dysfunctionals need to overcome their personal issues before they can hope to defeat the villains.

G-Blood - He stalks the night with his band of undead homies, ravaging the white bread town of Nugatory City. The former-rapper, G-Blood, is now lord of the Vampires, leading his gang of rap-battling zombies in a crusade against the living, and the wannabes.

Techno-King - One of two major weapon's designers in Nugatory City, Techno-King has an army of robots with advanced AI systems that follow his every command. His massive corporation, T-Tech, clashes with Coast Industries, lead by Cyber-Lord.

Cyber-Lord - Rival of Techno-King, Cyber-Lord is known for his deadly Plasma Cannons, vaporizing the robot army of Techno-King, and taking down a bank or two with his thugs. Poised for a hostile Global Takeover, Cyber-Lord's only opposition is T-Tech.

The Otaku - Defying the laws of physics with massive weapons, distended facial expressions, and legions of scantily-clad women in cybernetic ninja suits, The Otaku is a force to be reckoned with. His encyclopedic knowledge of RPGs, Strategy Games, and even the most complex and convoluted Anime plots makes him a brilliant strategist.

King Rutra - A former Renaissance Fair performer, Rutra is convinced he [I]is[/I] a medieval king, destined to take over England (read: Nugatory City) as King. He will stop at nothing to become lord of the land, using his equally insane "Knights" and "legendary" sword.

Street Clothes - As far as street clothes wears, X pretty much only wears jeans and a t-shirt, occasionaly a long sleeve shirt. When getting formal, he wears a nice button-down shirt. He usually wears blacks, blues, and reds.
Costume - His costume is fairly simple. He wears a pair of black pants, a black shirt with a large silver 'X' on it, a black leather trenchcoat, black leather hat, and a piece of clothe that covers his mouth and nose.
Powers: X can absorb the powers of others for a 24 hour period.
Dysfunction: X has several "quirks." In a feat unrivaled by any other human being, he has managed to gain both a superiority and inferiority complex at the same time. A quick temper and brutally sarcastic tongue don't aid his problem. When in his average-person guise, X attempts to be charming and calm, not even trying when in Superhero mode. He often attempts to seduce the damsels he rescues, earning a nickname of "the Caped Casanova." He's also always trying to suggest team names, almost all of them already taken.
Biography: Taylor had an unremarkable childhood, raised as a cyncic and a sarcastic. He was always fairly hot-tempered, strong-willed, and hated school, which explained his poor grades despite his high intelligence. While he always did well on the work, he didn't do half of it.
He always had prodigious writing talent, his first full-length novel published at 16. He quickly climbed the best-seller charts with his gothic action-adventure novels. He has built up a healthy career over the years.
Taylor discovered his powers when he was twenty, after meeting a superhero visiting Nugatory City to do some promotional speeches. When Taylor shook hands with the superhero, he found himself gaining superpowers, as well as doubling his ego.
With this newfound ability, he took up the name X, and began fighting crime. Unfortunately, he found that he could only do so with other heroes around, giving him an inferiority complex. This spurned him to form a superhero team...the Dysfunctionals.
With the aid of his agent/caretaker/mother-figure, Margaret Miller (now Madame Mundane), X sought out other heroes in the city. He didn't realize exactly what he was getting into.

While he passes them off as battle-wounds from schoolyard scuffles, he usually gets them from the flying debris created from his explosions. However, he has so much control over his power at this point that backfires like those rarely happen anymore.
[i]Street[/i] - Andrew generally wears casual, loose clothing. He hates labels of all kinds, so he tries his best to avoid wearing fashions of any particular genre. His colors are mainly browns, yellows, and blacks.
[i]Costume[/i] - Breakdown wears black pants, yellow and black boots, a form-fitting yellow shirt with a nuclear symbol in the center, a plain black belt, a regular length black leather jacket, and yellow gloves.
[b][u]Powers[/b][/u]: Breakdown has the ability to concentrate kinetic energy around his body, then release it in a devastating explosion. He can alter this power to explode at specific points and times. This can range from concentrating it in his fist to release a punch equal to a stick of dynamite, or charging a baseball to explode like a hand-grenade. [b][u]Dysfunction[/b][/u]: Breakdown has a tendency to...well, break down. The pressures of school, parents, and a superhero career leave him tense and stressed at times. If he reaches a breaking point, his power often explodes unpredictably. This side-effect makes him terrified of becoming too enraged. To counter this, he often acts carefree and jokes around, if only to keep from going beserk.
[b][u]Biography[/b][/u]: Andrew Whitten had a regular teenage life. Parents grounding him, hanging out with friends, average grades...he was satisfied with his life. One day, however, he felt different. When he woke up, he felt tense, as if his body was stretched too thin. Throughout the week, things kept getting worse. He failed two classes, his parents grounded him, his girlfriend dumped him...it built up. One day, having gotten to school late, and still partly asleep, Andrew stumbled to his locker just in time to meet his Biology teacher. After informing him that he was about to fail that class too and thoroughly berating him in view of the whole hallway, he teacher handed him a detention slip. Turning away angrily, Andrew slammed his locker shut as hard as he could. To everyone's surpise, the locker exploded, blwoing Andrew and the teacher back ten feet. Andrew, suspected of planting a bomb in the school, was sent to court. After finding no such evidence, he was released back to school, even though to this day students refer to him as "bomb-boy". A year has passed, and having ganined extensive control over his explosive gift, Breakdown now battles crime as best he can as a member of [i]The Dysfunctionals.[/i]

Dysfunctinality- Mouth Possesses sevear anger problems which results in tantrums that are... unhelpful to say the least with his power because he loses control of his powers. He also has a habit of cursing non-stop when he goes into a tantrum which is mixed with him rambling on in his own language. We must add a dash of insanity and paranoia to this mix otherwise it would not be him.

Bio- Mouth is a bad-tempered Aussie guy who first got a job at a radio station when he signed up for a job as a SYN ( Student Youth Network) radio presenter. He was 14 and this is where he first found out about his powers. He once lost control of his powers when he was fired and...... The results were just lovely and he was forced to leave town. He eventually reached his new home and with the money that he made in Melbourne he got another radio job and a home.

He learnt how to control his powers........Mostly although there are a few minor incidents from time to time.

[B]Powers:[/B] Due to Lawless' extreme sense of 'justice' and her keen eye for spotting a culprit, she has managed to develop her powers around bad emotions. She is able to take people's bad feelings, and make herself more powerful while making the person that she targets happy and well, a sad, helpless adult that would prefer to hug Barney than rob a jewellery store. Her main power is strength, the more bad feelings she has the stronger she gets. Her weapon is practically anything that comes to hand, if she can lift it...why not throw it, too?

Beth usually wears tight jeans and tank tops or boob tubes in the summer; during the winter she will wear the same style jeans with polar necks and boots. She always wears a simple silver cross around her neck, except when she is in her costume.


[B]Dysfunction:[/B] Lawless has, as most can tell by her name, no sense of what the law really is. Despite the fact that she is a law student, she disagrees with most punishments and believes that her professor should be in jail for life. Most of the time she will threaten her team mates, mostly X, saying that they are unjust and should be watching happy shows rather than fighting.
She has an amazing ability to get on peoples nerves, not to mention the fact that she is a huge flirt without even trying.

[B]Bio:[/B] Beth was raised by a normal mother and a...not so normal father. Her dad was the reasonably well known '[I]Airwave[/I]', who was a crime fighter to the greatest extreme. He worked along side the more famous super heroes but preferred to stay in the background. He was able to manipulate wind, using it to cut through objects or simply blow people away. He also used a cape, a bad idea since it caused him some injuries in his time (getting stuck on lightning conductors, for example). Beth's mother (Charlene) was a lawyer and met 'Airwave' (James) through a rather strange court case that occurred when Super Hero's were beginning to fall out of the public eye.

When Beth was born, it was a happy day for both Charlene and James and they were determined to train her in hopes of their daughter becoming a wonderful super hero, capable of taking down the most formidable of foes. Unfortunately, within a few years it was apparent that her training would be no easy task, especially when young Beth accused the ice cream man of arson. It was obvious that Beth had a warped sense of justice and would try to accuse anyone and everyone of some crime or another just so that she could have an excuse to use her powers on them.

When her parents actually realised what her powers were, it came as quite a shock. It was Beth's 8th Birthday when she accused an old lady of kidnapping cats and selling them on the black market, when the lady became angry Beth merely touched her and smirked, puffing out her chest and...uprooting a tree while the dear old woman bought ice cream for the rest of the party goers, a broad smile plastered on her face.

As the years went by, Beth developed an obsession with the law, studying old cases against super heroes and trying to figure out how she would have won the case. Now that she is 20, she has found a new path in life...no, not to annoy other heroes into arresting old ladies, but to fight crime along with the Dysfunctionals! And possibly make a buck along the way...

Occupation: Works as a stuntman at Nugatory Studios and occasionally does some freelance photography

Appearance: Joel has yellow brown eyes that stare eerily out from under his dark brown and unkempt hair that always looks like he just woke-up because, well he has probably just woken up or has not touched it since he woke up. (I think you get my point?)
He has a lean and muscular appearance and a handsome face with movie star features, his only flaw being the burn scar on his left forehead that fortunately his hair covers most of the time.
Street clothes: usually just a miscellaneous t-shirt and some jeans or cargos along with some everyday work boots. The two things that he always wears or takes with him are some gray-framed sunglasses that he wears when he goes outside; they protect his eyes from the sunlight. And he wears flesh colored earplugs that he never takes out.
Costume: A dark gray almost black leather trench coat that has black and red symbols that runs up from the bottom. This coat somehow makes it easier to shape shift. Also wears a matching beanie that covers most of his hair along with his scar. To top it off he wears some black ski goggles. Note: Whenever he shape shifts the animal he shape shifts into has a distinct goggle marking around its eyes, his favorite animal being a wolf.

Powers: Joel is initially a shape shifter, though he also has extra sensitive hearing and sight.

Dysfunction: paranoid schizophrenic

Bio: Joel had a sad childhood; his mother died giving birth to him and his father was killed in a freak car accident when he was five, somehow Joel survived the car crash with only a concussion and burn on the left side of his forehead. Foster care took him in and he was soon in the system.
Joel was exceedingly smart and mature for his age...so much so one day in the first grade he got so bored that he started to cry in his frustration. It took them a while but after figuring it out, they decided he would be much happier and do much better in a higher grade. So Joel skipped three and as predicted he did much better and was happier. So it was that Joel graduated high school as valid Victorian at age fifteen.
It was on graduation night that he discovered his powers. Some angry nerds decided that they would teach Joel a lesson for outsmarting them in every class. And to Joel, those nerds, however nerdy were strong nineteen year olds with baseball bats. Whereas he was a scrawny fifteen year old with nothing. Needless to say they soon had him in a tight spot where he couldn't get away as a human but as a cat maybe. The next thing Joel knew was that he was a about four and a half feet shorter and on all fours, needless to say he got away that night.
When Joel turned sixteen he started college majoring in language and criminal psychology getting his doctorate seven years later. The FBI immediately hired him. Just a few weeks after getting his job, Joel had a schizophrenic episode and went missing. The FBI's missing person's unit found him, four days later in an abandoned warehouse, where he was convinced 'they' (whoever that is) would never find him. The FBI had to use tranquilizers just to get him out of the elevator shaft he had been hiding in. Joel was taken to a psychiatric ward and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. His FBI buddies were told that it was genetic and that he had had an acute schizophrenic episode.
With no family to take car of him, he was sent to an asylum to be given treatment and therapy. After three years in the asylum he was finally released on the terms that he would have to a monthly check up with a psychiatrists and to take his prescribed medication.
After months of searching Joel was finally able to get a job as a stuntman at Nugatory studios, and for once his mental background didn't hinder him at his job, because his employers felt that you had to be near insane to do the stunts anyway. Doing some freelance photography in between jobs, to help pay the rent. Joel has a lot of down time, so he started using his powers to fight crime in the city, which was when the Dysfunctionals approached him.

Facts that you may need to know: First, even with his medication Joel sometimes sees and talks to people who aren't there.
Second, Joel's vision is 10/10.
Third, Joel's hearing is two times that of a dog's. Any noise you make he can hear, and he absolutely hates silent dog whistles. They drive him beserk,...so I wouldn't suggest blowing on one anywhere near him...it might be the last thing you do...heh.

She does good at keeping her cool when working among the infirior human race, but once she's in her 'Super-form' she WILL hurt you if you come within inches of her after saying something that might want to make her kill you. She's 100% evil, no matter HOW she looks to you; in her case: Looks CAN kill.
Biography: Lucifer is a GIRL, no matter what the name says. Evil is what she thinks is pure. She's a perfectionist and likes things done her way, or you might just want to kill yourself. ADVICE: Never call her 'Luci' or a child, that will REALLY set her off. Sometimes she gets too carried away with herself and battles, but you can live with that can't you?
