Dragon Warrior
I don't know about you guys, but I love Christmas carols. Of course, I love Christmas too. Where I live, we get a radio station about around November 10th that plays nothing but Christmas music nonstop until Christmas day is done. It's "Star 105.7" or something. A great listen. I listen to it when I go to sleep even! Am I pitiful or what? But yeah, Christmas music makes me real excited 'cause I love this stuff. My favorite song is "O Holy Night," but I'm also fond of "Carol of the Bells." So... anyone have a favorite Christmas song or story about Christmas music/carols? PS: I've never carolled before, but I would like to try since I love to sing. Sadly I live in the country and the town I go to school in is small and hillbilly land :(
Annie
I love Christmas, but to be honest with you, I'm really sick of Christmas music. Y'see, I work at a coffee shop in the local mall and since the week before Thanksgiving, I've been listening to non-stop Christmas music. I wouldn't mind so much if they played normal music, with a Christmas song every once in a while, but no.
Juu
My favourite Christmas carol (ish) would have to be 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' sang by Chris Martin from Coldplay. Very soft and warm. <3 it. Eh. There was this one case where I had to sing about three songs in front of 1200+ people with three other girls, and it started with 'We've got to-!', but there was a piano intro. We were supposed to wait three rounds before we started singing (and we had been coached muchly on projecting the couple of days before), but just as the second round finished, I blurted out 'WE'VE GOT TO-' on my own! Gah, my cheeks were crimson during that entire song. >_>; It was caught on tape by God knows how many parents, as well. <<;;;
TheShinje
I like a local carol we have in New Zealand, called Te Haranui, it's very "angelic" when sung at Carols by Candlelight, and is more localised to New zealand and it's culture than most of the others, One line goes "Not on a snowy night," referencing the fact that Christmas is the middle of summer for us. Dragon Warrior
Actually, I take it back. I did sing carols for people. But it wasn't anything big; just a Christmas concert done by the Elementary. When I was a wee lad that attended school there, I sang for my class each year from 1st to 5th. Those were the days... I have yet to do any real carolling, though :<
Annie
Well, guess what happened today, Gav? I went to work and for about half of the day, there was no Christmas music! Huzzah for mah! Anyways, I guess I'll stop being a Scrooge and reveal my favorite Christmas song/carrol. It's "Oh Holy Night".
Hevn
Christmas is not Christmas without Christmas carols! I love "O Holy Night" too and I play it on the piano every Christmas. I also love that one from Home Alone that the choir's always singing... it's just very emotional. And, umm, "Jingle Bells Rock" is awesome. All the giddy-up and mix and mingle spells fun! Delta
Twelve Days of Christmas. Oh how I love the looks on the faces of our first year students everytime they are told to give a formula describing the total number of gifts the singer received. Love and Peace! It's "Somewhere in my Memory" ^_^

And I have been going crazy trying to find it. What's the name of it? Christmas is a wonderful time of year, the carols are nice to have. But once you hear songs like Barbara Streisand's (however you spell her name) "J-j-jingle bells, j-j-j-jangle bells"...you lose all interest in Christmas music -_- ...I hate that song.
Vicky
I don't like Christmas music, it gets on my nerves too much. Sure Christmas is fine, but the music isn't what I like about it. It's on all over the place (even on the Sky menu on the TV, the TV!), and I'm glad my dog chewed up all the Christmas CD's last year. Actually, I don't really have much of a Christmas Spirit anymore... I haven't even gone out to buy presents for anyone yet. Anyway, back on track. I don't like Christmas songs, and by this time next year I might not even like Christmas since hey keep getting crappier every year, oh well. But seriously, I'm glad no one comes round singing around here (They'd get egged a few times anyway, by me most likely because I can't resist), and I'm glad I'm got a cold this Christmas so no one will bribe or force me into singing... again.
ice-kitsune
i wouldnt say i LOVE christmas but i dont hate it. i mainly just like getting the presents and getting out of school for it and all that. not into singing christmas caroles but thats kinda hard to get out from since im in chorus at school. so i have to go to our boring concerts and sing for an hour or so. other than that im really not into christmas songs. gets WAY too annoying. Dragon Warrior
I have this CD called "Twisted Christmas" where they make fun of a load of Christmas songs. It's wonderful! They even take popular songs like "Love Shack" and turn them into something like "Toy Sack." But my all time favorite is "Yellow Snow" (based on "Let It Snow") and it goes something like this... The weather outside was whitening, Until the dog did something frightening. He had no other place to go, Yellow show, yellow snow, yellow snow. I'd go on, but it gets worse with stuff involving steaming liquids and urinating on Frosty. Queen Asuka
I'm with you DW, I love the Christmas music. And that's why I'm so thankful for internet radio because while I'm sitting down and browsing away, my winamp player has some sort of Christmas radio station going. I've been listening to it since before Thanksgiving. My boyfriend thinks I'm sick, but there's just something so calming and soothing about Christmas music. My favorite carols are probably all of the ones from the classic movies that I've been watching every single year for as long as I can remember. I happened to be a bit fond of the redneck Twelve Days of Christmas, but considering my origins, that shouldn't be too surprising, right? ^_^;
