Onix
This is a wierd little idea I had. We're reading Lord of the Flies in English class and a journal we had to do was what would happen if we (the class) were stuck in the same situation. Then my mind wandered inexplicably to Otaku Hollow (awesome story! If you haven't read it now, go) and I began to wonder what would happen if some of the OB members got stuck in that situation. I'm currently wondering that, even if I decided to make it, if it would be better as an RPG or a story (like Otaku Hollow...heh heh, shameless plugs are yer freeeeeeend). Then there are more questions: the level of reality, mood (parody or just as dark?), who'd be in it...ugh, my brain hurts. Well, guess I should even ask if anyone would want to read/be in/play in it. Let me know your opinions. -ULX
Dragon Warrior
Yay. Shameless plugs :P I'm honored. I've never read Lord of the Flies (mostly because I'll be forced to next year during my Senior year of high school) and I've heard that it's amazingly good and I've heard it's terribly boring. I wouldn't mind being in an Otaku RPG that's a parody of it since parodies are great fun, but I guess I'd have to read it first. I think Otaku parodies are always a good way to go just as long as it's not random bull.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Well I've only read the first few chapters of Lord of the Flies and a few subsequent extracts after that for my Honours English class in the Leaving Cert, however I think this would make a fascinating story. Now whether that story is a parody or a serious RPG, or whatever you want to do I would be intrigued to see the end result. The story itself is easily spoofed, although if it were made into an RPG I think it would be slightly more interesting as a serious drama or mild horror.
Sara
I don't believe a truly serious story starring OtakuBoards members has been done (I may well be wrong), but the concept suddenly fascinates me. It could be extremely well done, and a lot of fun to read. Heh. gopherocious, Sara
DragonBlood
Blaa! Lord of the Flies, must burn all copies!! I though it was dreadfully boring and dull and any other adj. you can put in for bad. Though the idea of doing this does catch my attention, I think it may be fun, even, interesting! *GASP!* Any way, I think an RPG would be beter. Hey I just thought of something, LOST is just like Lord of the Flies (Though I haven't seen most of the series) and that is a good series (from what I've seen/heard) maby since its not all English school boys. *Begins nugging for LOST inspired rpg* any who, thats my opinion, I think....It might not be mine, We'll see. Bio
Well, I though Lord of the Flies was sort of wierd, but not enough so to burn every copy ever printed. O_o I think a serious Otakuboards RPG would be interesting. It would definitely be... different, considering the book it would be based on, but I can see how it could work. Good luck, heh.
