ChibiHorsewoman
Yeah, I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I'm curious to see if people on here actually classify themselves into groups by the way they dress. So do you? Would you consider yourself to be preppy (ie Oh look, Abercrombie and Fitch is having a sale!) Goth? Punk? A combination of everything? (Ie, the shirt is from Good Will, the skirt is from Old Navy and I got the socks and the boots at Hot Topic). Also do you associate with people who don't dress like you do? Do you and your friends always have to be dressed a certain way? As for myself even in high school my friends and I never really seemed to follow a set pattern-well except for Amanda who I guess you'd say dresses punk, but we never classified ourselves. At least I don't think we did. We still don't. My husband and I are probably the biggest offenders of trend crossing. But oh well. I hope this generates some discussion. If not well, at least I can attempt to regain my place as most talkative.
wrist cutter
I wear plain jeans/shorts depending on the weather and plain shirts. Classify away.
Miryoku
I tend to dressin a punk/goth sorta style but i also bring vintage style into it, I realy like the black and pink thing.I kind of dress like i'd be a quiet outcast type person but i'm way hyper. I don't feel that my clothes say who i am, i just wear what i like i like to be different. Vary few of my friends dress just like me I'm my own person and i'll keep it that way. Dagger
Um, I wear whatever's comfortable. That means pajamas when I'm in my house and jeans or nice black pants when I'm at school, work and so forth. Based on the amount of time I fritter away at home and/or sleeping, I'd guess that I spend most of my life in clothes that would look very out of place in public (pink pajamas covered in cute little dogs, ancient sweatpants, etc). I don't have much patience with jeans. About four or five years ago I discovered that a brand sold at Target fits me exactly right, so every year I go there to buy a few more variations on what's essentially the same basic design. I suppose I'm just a creature of habit. ~Dagger~
Azure Rose
Hehe, I spend a lot of time in my pajamas too! Old Navy has great pajama pants...Anyway, I guess I have a pretty plain style. I'm a firm believer in the 'jeans go with anything' theory, so for me it's pretty much always jeans and some kind of top (there's more variation in those, lol) and a jacket if it's cold. And I do love my Vans shoes, they're so comfy. Yay shoes! I'll hang out with pretty much anyone, prep, goth, or otherwise, as long as they're a nice person. My friends all have different styles. Haha, we're a mixed bunch I guess!
Lunai
I wear anything from jeans to tee shirts to button up blouses to Moroccon clothes...on any given day. Endymion
I don't really know how to classify my style of dress. I work alot, so I'm usually in a pair of khakies with either a black or white sleeve collar shirt with the wrists folded up, feels comfortable that way for some reason. A majority of my home time I sit around in my flannel pajamas. If I go out after work, I usually don't have time to change so I still wear my work clothes, I like wearing them anyway. My casual non-work clothes include khakis or jeans, with a t-shirt and either an unbuttoned collared tee or long sleeve shirt...plus my classic franchise boston hat..
Lady_Rin
Most of the time Ranger wears a guides uniform on duty . A very nice tan safari shirt I bought from Cabellas.com. The have everything an outdoorsman needs. Off duty cargo shorts or levis, lots of tinkerbell t-shirts. I buy them so he wears them. OUtside boots, inside houise socks. Boots and outdoor clothes atre not allowed in the house so everyone changes on the back porch. I normally wear a skirt and blouse, dresses in my own style. In school I was taught that trousers are for your husband or the garden. metaphorical referencee and I rarely wear them in public. I actually don't feel comfortable wearing them in public. I do have skirts that are suitable for field work when I go out and I also have a Ou.t Adv. uniform which is a safari skirt to go with the shirts we have for when I work with the guides. I do have school uniforms I wear to work and I shal post catalog pictures of them in the art studio forum. How I dress depends on how I want to feel. Interesting question: Does what you wear affect how you feel and act?
DeathKnight
I wear a full black robe with a hood! It has the symbol of the AntiChrist on the back! Babies wail when they see me walking along- Mothers sob, men flee in terror! They call me... el chupacabra! When I'm not terrorizing children and wimpy men, I'm wearing whatever is clean. I don't really care about clothes that much- if it fits/is comfortable, I'll be glad to wear it. I do have a secret affection for quirky t-shirts though- you know, ones that have a message or funny images on them. Ahh, the money I will waste on funky t-shirts..
Does what you wear affect how you feel and act?
Not that I can tell. That might be more applicable to someone who actually is more concerned with what s/he is putting on, heh.
CaptainAnarchy
I am usually seen in ripped knee pants,an assorted top from hot topic or a raggedy grunge shirt...then I usually wear fishnet armwarmers...if not my hello kitty armwarmers! I wear volatile and converse shoes...I wear very, very, very, heavy eyeliner and sometimes do a little Cleopatra-type thing at the folds of my eyes or little triangular shapes under my eyes. I wear two belts and/or a hot pink metal chain on my pants and I love wearing neckties...and then there is my lucky black hat with some real estate name on it...I believe its "Century 21"...or my ever so sexy Krispy Kreme hat. For my purse I always carry around either a white or a black Louis Vuitton...my style says alot about me...0.o I get stared at...

Rhym
You should have added a "casual" option to that poll, Chibihorsewoman. Baggy jeans/cargo pants (but not sagging... Jesus, saggers piss me off so much. I have no interest in seeing what pattern adorns your boxers!), T-Shirts with Anime or political messges on them, Vans shoes (I'm not a skater, I just love low-tops), and some South American wool sweater type thing. The kids at school call it a poncho, but it's not... It's purple and grey, and exceedingly warm and comfortable. Sadly, this hides my t-shirts, but what can you do? So I suppose my style is casual.
WaterSprite
Hmm.. Well I'd say baggy jeans/ long short shirts(long sleeves under short sleeves) / pink and grey airwalks/ some weird short hair style/ sometimes a bright red bandana/ sometimes my appearance can be mistaken for a magician, even/ NO nailpolish/ school dress lable= indifferent tomboy. Sara
Old Navy Quiksilver Adida ...How's that for generic?
Not so good. ^_~ I wear comfy clothes. Jeans and T-shirts, really...every once in a while I'll dress up a bit, but that's only worth doing when the weather is warm. Right now it's snowing...and I'd much rather be warm and comfortable in my sweatshirt and giant jacket, than stylish and considerably less warm wearing some nicer clothes. Not that it isn't fun to dress up every now and then, but it's not worth freezing while I walk to class. Most of my clothes are from Kohl's department store, that I've accumulated over years and years of back-to-school shopping with my mom. Ezekiel
Eee, I change my style quite a lot but at the moment I'd have to lean ever so slightly towards Prep...as stated in my profile O_o; So sue me, I like classy stuff and usually I wear sweaters or blouses. I do wear jeans a lot though but I always look very preppy. Eh, it's semi-original. I would love to get into wearing my baggy clothes again but my mum only let me pass through that phase briefly and due to the fact that she still buys my clothes she flat out refuses to let me dress like a punk, I really would love to, though. I get my clothes from loads of different places; lots of them are from MK One or Matalan, but sometimes we splash out and go to places like Zara or River Island. I do love an excuse to dress up ^_^

DBZgirl88
I started wearing the hijab (the veil) a few months ago, just before school started in particular. Anyway, before that I've always used to dress modestly. I'd never allow my belly or back to show, so I always used to wear a tanktop tucked in under my shirt. As for my style, it was always jeans, or dress pants, and a T-shirt or sweater. I guess it was a typical teenager's outfit, with a bit of my own style added . Since I started wearing the hijab, I stopped wearing pants and I always stick to skirts now to conceal my shape. However, it's hard to find a long skirt these days that doesn't have a slit so I always wear pants underneath. Don't want my legs to show! I don't find it too uncomfortable. In Canada, it's cold most of the year, so I actually feel pretty cosy :) . In the summer though, my skirt and pants combination feels like an oven! Anyway, it' fun to experiment with the different hijabs, cause they usually have all sorts of pretty designs and colors! There's also a variety of ways you can wrap it around your head. In addition, the pins make a great accessory! I want to get a jilbab, which is a long, robe like outfit some muslim girls wear, and some are really pretty too. But they're so expensive here in the islamic stores in Canada! Some are over $100. Therefore, if one of your muslim friends decide to visit an arabic/muslim country, it's good to ask them to bring you back clothes, since the stores there actually sell stuff for what it's worth (the jilbab would only be $20 candadian there). Then you can pay them back. :) One of my friends agreed to bring me back loads of jilbabs and hijabs cause I'm in desperate need of them.

Since I moved to campus, I've seen a lot of girls (well, not a stunning majority or anything, but a large number compared to what I saw at home) wearing skirts, veils, etc. I'd feel odd asking them, but you're very right--many of them are just beautiful. I'm a little jealous sometimes, heh. If I were to wear something like that, I'd feel extremely awkward, but they all do it with such grace. And it had never occured to me about the price thing. Wow, I feel so informed now. *silly smile* been a fool, been a clown, Sara
Fyxe
All depends on me. I have an assortment of style. I can go for the more punky/skater style one day, have a cute simple look another day, a goth style another, and a plain "I don't give a s**t" style. Normally depends on my mood. I just hate the whole preppy thing.... nerve wrenching.... oh well, that's just my opinion. But, I have my own style, don't really care what other people think. As long as it makes me happy. ^_^
KarmaOfChaos
I'm a highly materialistic person. I love clothes, and I spend massive amounts of money on them. As a result, my clothes are extremely ecelectic. I buy a lot of stuff from Morning Glory, which is an Amy Brown-esque boutique in California, and from Goodwill, which has the neatest things. (I found a plaid tie there, it was the most awesome tie ever.) I adore plaid, black lace, and elaborately decorated clothing. I'm very fond of the Gothic Lolita look. A lot of my clothes have Asian influences. At the same time, I've been known to wear mutli-colored duct tape plastered pants and a rainbow tube top with a plastic jacket that has little duckies floating around in it. I find clothes to be a wonderful outlet for creativity and design, and I've altered a lot of my clothes from their original form to tailor suit them to my tastes. Therefore, I take great pride in my clothes, because to me, the way you dress reflects your inner self. I dress in showy, spontaneous stuff, and that's the kind of person I am. Of course, that's just a generalization, not true for everyone. But meh. I don't have a "style" unless Karmality counts. ;) -Karma

I used to decorate T-shirts a lot when I was a kid, but I haven't done anything creative (clothing-wise) for years. I thought about it a few times in high school, but anything I would have wanted to do was probably against dress code. I don't have that problem now, though, so I'm suddenly all inspired. Heh. Honestly, though, I can be such a wimp when it comes to clothing. If I see something I like, I'll wear it, but I'm always scared to modify stuff, because it might not come out the way I want. walking on sunshine, Sara
