Ripping?

Mods, I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this. You can move it if I was mistaken.

Has anyone found someone ripping something? My site splash page has been ripped by: [url]http://www.ragnarokrealm.com[/url] and my site was [url]www.mechinfinity.tk[/url], as well as [url]http://zerophase.vze.com/[/url] banner.

[COLOR=#503F86]That's something you'd have to take up with the owners of that site directly. If it's your property and you can prove that it is, then they don't really have the right to take or use it without asking. But since people tend to have a rather impersonal relationship with the internet they may just ignore the fact that other people made these things and just take it anyway without any care for the original artist/programmer.

If they're directly linking, all you'd need to do is change the URL and they'd have no image, heh. Otherwise it's a case of trying to persuade them to at least give you credit for it.[/COLOR]

[size=1]I don't see why you're putting this here, or what it has to do with the mods. None of these sites are even related to theOtaku-[Franchise] in any way, shape or form. That aside, Solo's approach is the best. You have to approach the owners of the site personally, or launch a devatsating Web-wide smear campaign.

Hugo is completely right in this case, if these guys are ripping off your stuff without permission then your best bet is to simply contact them about it and see if you can resolve it. However if it is a simple case of them hotlinking from an image that you have control over you can (as Hugo pointed out) merely change the URL of the image so that they can't "borrow" it any more.

However Baron did have a point in that this doesn't actually pertain in any way to OB or any of it's sister sites.[/SIZE]

I didn't say it was... or that I expected them to do anything about it. Just how I could resolve it. Notice how this topic was moved into this forum. It originally was created in the lounge, because I wanted some advice.
