Meggido
OOC: check the last post on the signup thread for everyone's race. IC: Lucifer paced the room. It was obvious that she was unhappy. Her wings were unveiled and spread to full length. At the table in front of her sat the council of four. To the right of her were Dumah and Uriel, and to the left was Damien and an empty seat where Azrael should be seated. "This search has been going on to long," she fumed. "Can't you do anything right. Agoriad has been out in the open for twenty-two years and no one has yet found it. As you may have noticed Azrael is not here. I was hoping that she would have better luck than you three." As she paced she didn't notice that Damien was twirling a crucifix in front of his face. If she had she would have gone off like a rocket. At the moment she was a lose cannon and Damien infatuation with Christian symbols always angered her. Suddenly the door the room opened and a fallen angel in disheveled clothing came stumbling in. She collapsed on the floor, her injuries would obviously kill her. Lucifer moved towards the girl. "My lady," The girl whispered, "Azrael is dead." "What, how did this happen," Lucifer asked, a panic slowly coming over her. "We were ambushed my Lady," the girl replied. "It was the angels." With that the girl passed out. Lucifer returned to her spot at the head of the table. Her head resting in her hands. This was not good how could the angels kill Azrael she was the best warrior they had. She looked up. The other three members of the council were starring directly at her. "Hmm. Uriel. I want you and Damien to continue the search for the key, working together. It will be safer for you to work as a team. With this unfortunate loss we will have to be even more careful. You may go." As the three began to leave Lucifer added more to what she was saying. "Oh Dumah. Stay behind, I have an imporatant mission for you." When they were alone she explained the mission. "Dumah I want you to discover the location of the Angel's base. If you get a chance kill Gabriel but getting that information back is your top priority."
Sword Breaker
OOC: K, I'll be the first angle to post, I guess. Marcus had been amongst the angles in the ambush. There were only four angles, but their enamy had no more. The ambush had taken place over the Atlantic ocean, where a hig ranking Fallen Angle was returning form a failed hunt for the Key. The angles had waited in the clouds, and had charged downward from above, blinding their enamies as they smote them. Marcus has shrieked with glee as the enamy scattered under the suprise attack, and the four angles each picked a target. Marcus had chosen a girl, a fierce little vixen wielding a vicious spear. Marcus' powerful wings pumped him forward, as he brought his flachion down. She brought her spear up to defend herself, and the flachion hit her with stunning force, sending her realing. Her small yet powerful wings helped her to recover quickly, and she lunged again. Marcus' breat plate held strong, defelecting the blow to the right, giving Marcus the chance to rush her. He knocked the spear off to the right more, before his powerful wings shot him directly at her. She cried out, as blade bit deep into her left arm, and screamed louder as Marcus' backhand swing sliced into the base of her wing. He severed it at the base, sending a jet of dark blood erupting. She screamed, as Marcus knocked the spear from her hand. Unable to stay afloat on one wing, the girl plumetted into the ocean, a torrent of blood and screams following her. Marcus shrieked with glee, before sliding his blade into it's scabbered. Marcus turned, and was shocked at what he saw. The skies were empty. Then, a sword fell from above him, slicing into Marcus' shoulder, blood erupting from the wound. Marcus reeled back, spinning to avoid the followup blow that would have killed him. He clutched at his wounded shoulder in pain. His left arm, his good arm, was out of the battle, its tendents had been severed, and it would takes days to recover. He awkwardly drew his flachion with his right arm, and faced his new challenge. "Heh, so you are the great Azreal I have heard so much about." Marcus laughed, anxious for a challenge. "Shut your mouth, angle scum!" The girl shouted, as she rushed forward. She had not escaped her battle unscathed, and was bleeding from a sychted wrist, several stab wound to the torso. She was in no condition to battle, and was breathing heavily. He charged towards his wounded enamy, and raised his flachion for the killing blow. A sudden scream, and blood spurted across Marcus' frozen face. He twisted away, avoiding the obsidian blade jutting from Azreal's chest. He hovered angerly, as his face contorted with anger. "You stole my kill!" Marcus screamed, pointing his flachion at Gabriel. Gabriel was sielnt, as he slid the obsidian blade back into the scabbered. "The one you injured, she may escape." Gabriel said coldy, before coming to hovor, facing Marcus. "She's dead. No one could have survived those wounds, not even you." Marcus said, before slidding his own sword back into its place. "I didn't think I'd have to tell you this again. Fallen Angles are difficult to kill, she may already be swimming back to her master." Gabriel said impaitently. "Yeah, whatever." Marcus replied, before he turned and flew off into the white sky. OCC: I hope you don't mind Gab, but I went ahead and did that. Annie
OOC: Angel= Heavenly being created by God. Angle=Inverted or slanted line [ex. / ] IC: "Z, did you feel that?" "Feel what? That draft? Sorry, I had the chili for lunch. You know what ha-" "Sometimes I forget you are human," a dark figure growled. The shadows of the allies swarmed about, lusting for the ominous aura flowing about the renegade angel. The shadow's fingertips lap and reach for his body. The human followed close; not so much out of fright, but out of loyalty. "So, Mutuol, what did you feel?" Z asked, scratching the scruff of his chin. "Her. I felt..her," Mutuol stopped in the middle of the street. The Fallen Angel took a solemn glance at the darkened sky. The clouds swirled and errupted into puffs of grey and black. Z stopped to follow Mutuol's gaze. "Yo, Mutuol. Are you okay? You look...sad." "I am, Z. I am.." Mutuol's voice drifted into the melody of soft thunder and gentle rain. The angel closed his eyes, his ebony wings flex and stretch out. Z watched in awe. This was the first time he had ever seen Mutol's wings. Normally, he kept an illusion shield to mask his wings from human sight. "Z, my dear friend," the angel slowly opened his eyes, "A great angel has been slain today. Her death is what we are experiencing now. Her soul is non-existant. That 'draft' I felt earlier was her soul bursting from this world. The Great Arc Angel, Azrael, is no more.." Z remained silent, staring remorsefully at his Fallen Angel. Mutuol gave one flap of his wings before masking them again. He smiled at Z before continuing his path. "But..how can an angel just die?" "Easy." "Thank you, Mr. Extravagant. Detail, please?" Z trotted up beside Mutuol, who smirked at Z's irritation. "To slay an angel as affective as this," waves towards the sky, "One has to have emmense powers. No mortal can possess this power." "Was it..?" "An Angel of God? Yes," Mutuol paused to pluck a vivid red rose from a store's window display and twirls it in his delicate fingers. "What are we going to do?" Mutuol kissed the rose lightly, the red slowly churned and blackened. "We'll go see the Fallen Star. I'm sure she's absolutely livid," Mutuol chuckled as he tossed the charred rose at Z. "Ack! Don't do that!'' Z leaped from the rose's venomous path. The two walked side- by-side deeper into the ghetto streets. The rain pelted all that lay under its furry. Kairi
How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, ''Violence!'' but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong?'' The words flooded back to him in his rage, from back in the days when he had taken hold of the prophect Habakkuk. Alexander saw what the angels had done. Through his bright, aqua eyes...he saw the likes of Marcus and Gabriel ambushing the fallen without mercy nor compassion. God, if you had been here, my brother would not have died! Alexander could feel Azreal's soul fading deeper into darkness. As if a part of himself was dying within him. Being apart from God, the trinity weakened and broken...Alexander still felt connected to all of his fellow angels. In the streets of Tokyo...the 15 year old boy with his navy boots, blue jeans with a white t-shirt...people began staring at him as he stood in the road of a busy marketplace; crying out as he was. Oh how I spit you, you who loves all that he creates! Are we no better than they are? ...to kill yet another one of your precious creations; not by your own hand. Are you not all powerful God...or do I place my faith in that which is dead! I envoke thee you coward! As his anger amplified, the people in the streets made some distance between themselves and the enrage child. Calling out to nothing but air... As he vented out his rage for the angels actions; Alexander started to control himself, but only to that of tears for Azreal. The fallen angel had died without the honor of a true battle; but to that of a simple ambush. Raindrops began to fall, as the sky blackend and that of a gentle breeze rushed through the streets of Tokyo. Everyone in the streets scattered for shelter, trying to get out of the storm which had intensified into a hard rainfall. Alexander was getting drenched; his t-shirt starting to show through to his skin...and his pants were starting to tighten around his legs, weighing him down. But he didn't care...nothing really mattered to him at this point. A slight laughter came upon him as he took in the harmony of all that surrounded him. The clean, cool droplets of rain fallin on his face, the water tasted fresh and sweet on his lips. The rythm of the rain droplets falling on the dirt road as well as on the metal rooftops. A calm spread through Alexanders entire being...to the simplicity of it all. The noise of the busy marketplace was finally gone... ''Are these your tears Lord, or are they mine...I don't know you anymore...*sigh* are you even there...'' ''Oh my God Alex...what are you doing? Get out of the rain now or your going to catch a deathly cold out there.'' A young girl ran out of a neighboring shop and grabbed Alex's hand, trying to pull him out of the storm. ''Kotoku...I...'' Be silent...let's get you inside so we can get you dry, ok. Ugh...boy's...you're all the same; so damn stupid. she said in a harsh, yet stuttering tone of voice. Both children ran to nearest shop; to one of Talismans...and went inside to dry. silpheedpilot
Z let out a heavy sign and streached his arms hish into the air, then let them drop to his sides like a three year old. "Ya know. If I had wings I'd just fly wherever I wanted!" "You know, if I didn't tolerate you as much as I do, you would be dead." "Great. Nice. Thats just grand! I'm just happy to know you care!" Mutoul rans hand of annoyance down his face, and looked to the sky once more he look in deep thought, but continued walking. Z on the other hand was scoping out the surroundings in his line of work you couldn't be too careful. "You should really stop worrying too much. You fidgit way to much for your status" Mutuol mused while shooting a glance Z's way. "Yeah? And what's my status? Scum of the earth, thats what!" Z proclamied, kicking over a trashcan as the two passed by it. They neared a corner market and Z got a glint in his eye. "If you're thinking of robbing that place, I won't let you." Mutuol said, crossing his arms "What? No! I want some damn donuts! Hell, I'll even pay for them" Z smiled and started foward, he was stopped by Mutouls hand on his shoulder. "No. We must continue. The Fallen Star would not be too happy if we showed up late, or out of context." "You Angels need to eat sometime! Dammit, I'm human and I need food. So thats what I'm going to get. Food." Z continued towards the corner when a gunshot rang out from within and two masked robbers sprinted from the store. Z slapped his forehead, and turned to Mutuol who was slightly laughing. "You see? They aren't hungry anymore!" The two continued down the rain beaten sidewalk, their final destination to be the Fallen Star's pad. At least in human connotation. Hinata
Gabriel stayed in place for a while, just hovering over the spot where he had slain a once fellow companion. He remembered her face. That lovely face she had, but a stern tempermant laid below. He smiled thinking about the past but knew that is could no longer be that way again. He smiled seeing all their faces, each Fallen Angel he slew. But his soon smile was replaced with a frown but no tears. He remembered their tempermant. Thier wicked deed and how they had turned and betrayed him. Lucifer most of all. By standards they were very close. Working together to serve God and his purpose, but soon a new emotion lingererd in Lucifer's heart. Jealousy, first of the humans and then to God. Gabriel when asked to join knew his reply immediately. He could never betray his God. Not because of attention failure, not because a mortal being another creation came into the picture. Gabriel laughed at the notion. He knew that these creatures, not who looked like God, only less powerful were there for one too. To worship their Lord, something that Gabriel and his fellow angels had done since day one. Soon Lucifer and her followers began to attack many, sparing none as they sought to take over heaven. Gabriel and the strongest fighters he knew fought back no second guessing. Staying in place the wole time Gabriel remembered the fight so well. It happed an eternity ago but it only seemd like yesterday. He saw how ruthless the fallen had became. They killed they brothers, their sisters, destroyed so much. Maybe thats why the vortex came. A way to get rid of all the fighting and give them all a chance to cool their heels. Gabriel faced skyward moving upward into the atmosphere as her had done many times before. He kept moving hoping, wanting to see something. Anything beyond the blus sky that kept him entrapped here. He moved quickly his wings beating against the gravity and hittins his body wit wind with such verocity that some of the clothing began to fall away. Being worn by the angels fast ascent. He broke through and the temp dropped quickly. Luckily it never affected him He was used to it by now. He looked around as the blue was now black. A void. The suns rays were bright but not blinding and he stared into the light seeing the flames at work. He looked around seeing only faint trickles of the stars light that had made it this far. He kept looking hoping for one ray of heavens light before he just released his hope and fell back into the atmosphere. He passed through it easily. The burning temperatures not laying one trace on his skin. His wings curved in closely to him as he plummeted. He kept falling, counting the seconds in his head. He kept falling. Down down down. His eyes closed until the lst moment when he was only 10 feet from the ocean surface and out his wings. They were formindable when let out showing how great a specimen he was. He glided. The wind gently playing with him and he pumped his wings allowing him to skim over the ocean surface. His wings tips and fingers skimming the top of the water. Her soon pumped them harder lifting him into the air climbing higher. His destination..He would just see when he got there. Annie
A woman, lifeless and soaked to the bone, lay on the filthy concrete. Her child, infant at most, screamed in his mother's cold arms. "Ah man, that's just not right. Even for me, that is so wrong.." Z knelt beside the woman and child. Mutuol stood behind Z, eyeing the dead mortal and her infant son. A twisted look of disgust swept over the angel's face. Pity soon followed. But not for the mother, but for the child. "Z, take the child in your arms." Z gave Mutuol a quick glance and gently craddled the baby in his muscular arms. Mutuol smiled at the tender sight of seeing a character such as Z with a child, then continued to walk. "Mutuol, what about-" "She deserves no better..now, let's go. We are close," Mutuol motioned with a nod of his head, signaling Z to follow. Holding the silenced infant, Z took one last look at the mother, then humbly follows. |-An hour later-| The two, with the company of a baby, stood outside an ancient, iron gate. Vines and moss cloth the iron, blanketing the sight of curious passer-by's. There was no sound; no birds chirping, no frogs croaking, no crickets playing their tunes. The wind, if there was any, was not felt; nor did the tree tops sway. "Man, this is freaking me out...I kind of like it," Z quirked, rocking the infant he held close. "I must say, Z, that's becoming of you," Mutuol laughed aloud and waltzed past his companion. "I hate you.." Z mumbled, followed by the infant's scream, "Not you! Shut it, kid....please?" Mutuol ignored Z and touched the vines delicately. The lucious plants shrivled and ashed under his touch, revealing a glimpse of a mansion. He examined the courtyard behind the gates and pushed the heavy iron inward. "Is this the place?" Z looked over Mutuol's shoulder. "This will be the place. Come, she'll be waiting.." Mutuol lead the way down a cobble stoned path. The pine trees towered above the two, casting their belittling shadows upon them. Z held the infant closer, as if on instinct. A thick fog spilled from depths of the pine trees, rolling over their feet. "Mutuol..." "It's fine, Z. She's greeting us." "You keep saying 'she'. I never knew the Prince of Darkness was actually a Princess of Darkness," Z scratched his head. "Humanity is ruled by the male gender. So, it was only natural for the 'devil' to assume a male reputation. It is the same with God." "God's a woman too?!" "No, God is actually a man," Mutuol roared in laughter. "You...are an asshole." This only made Mutuol laugh harder. Laughter, it was something he became more familiar with in the past two years. Never had he once laughed or smiled in Heaven. It wasn't until Mutuol was cast into humanity that he learned the value of a smile, and a laugh. It was Z who had taught him that value. |-Moments later at the front door-| "Whoa..this is rich," Z awed as he ran a hand over the dark, mahogany doors. He jumped back as the doors moaned and opened. A small woman in a black and white maid's outfit stood in the opening. "Ah, Lord Mutuol. Lucifer has expected you," the maid bowed shortly and turned to lead the two guests into the mansion. "Lord?" Z mocked. "Of course," Mutuol winked and stepped inside. "Mutuol, how wonderful to see you!" Mutuol turned to see Lucifier smiling and extending her arms. He took her hands and kissed her cheek softly. "Likewise, dear Lucifer. This is Z, my mortal companion," Mutuol gestured towards Z. "Quit calling me 'companion'. It sounds..wrong." "Haha, welcome to my home, Z. Please, make yourself at home," Lucifer grabbed his arm and walked down the hall. "Lucifer, Azrael-" "I know, Mutuol. I was informed this morning, sadly...Azrael.." her voice grew silent for a moment, "So, what of this infant?" "Oh, I guess I pitied the thing. I was hoping your ladies would give him some food and warm clothes?" "But of course, " Lucifer snatched the child from Z's protecting arms, "Oh, what a beautiful human. I have just the lady for him." "Lucifer, what are your plans of action? Have we heard any news on the 'key'?"
Revelation
The rain drizzled down onto her cold body. Her hair was wet and tangled from the drenching rain and her body was shivering slightly from the cold of the wind and water that stuck to her. Heaven looked up to see the beautiful clouds of gray. It was her favorite time of the year and her favorite weather of all. It reminded her of many things and helped her to write many stories. Walking down the street, Heaven walked into a small café that her friend owned. She looked up to see Heaven soaked in rain and shook her head. She pointed to the back and Heaven walked down the hallway towards a room. She sighed and her friend walked in with a hot cup of cocoa and a towel. "Forget your umbrella again?" "Of course not! I don't own one, remember? Anyways, I love the rain. It's the greatest weather of all. Wouldn't you agree, Reese?" Rolling her eyes at her dear friend, Reese threw the towel at her friend and left the cup of cocoa on a stand beside the bed that was there. Heaven merely smiled and watched her friend leave to work. It left her in the quiet room to think about a few more paragraphs to write for her new story.
Onix
Rain. Cold, heavy, opressing. Darkening the skies, blackening streets, wearing away the very rock over the centuries and millennia. Harsh and unforgiving, eternal and bleak. Skies like slate, raining down icy bullets. Dumah was pleased. Wrapped in shadows, he stood masked in the center of town. Invisible to all, he swept his eyes over the crowd, seeking out all who might be a lead. The angels were hard to find, but he would discover their base. He would not fail Lady Lucifer. She had given him purpose and life again, and he would not lose it. Amidst the darkness, the cold, the rain, all was at peace for Dumah. He was at home in the storm of misery and shadow. Night was his life, death his craft. Then he felt it. The twinge of power that came from an angel alone. The burning light of false righteousness and self-indulgent superiority. How Dumah hated them. With Silence and Shadow at his command, he followed the power, tracing it through the rain-swept streets. Lucifer would get her knowledge, for what she wants Dumah supplies. Dumah would get what he wanted too. Angel blood would stain his hands.
Meggido
Lucifer sat in her seat at the head of the table. Azrael had been a true friend and now she was gone. Her life taken at the hands of some cursed angel. She would have her revenge on the angel that had stole her friends life. That was the real reason for Dumah's mission. A young fallen angel poked his head through the door. "Ah, My Lady. Your guest has arrived." Lucifer made her way down the hall from the main dinning room. She reached the door to see Mutuol and a human male entering the front door. I was hoping your ladies would give him some food and warm clothes?" "But of course, " Lucifer snatched the child from Z's protecting arms, "Oh, what a beautiful human. I have just the lady for him." "Lucifer, what are your plans of action? Have we heard any news on the 'key'?" "At the present time we don't know who Agoriad is or where they may be. I currently have Uriel and Damien out searching," She responded. As they walked the past a young lady, seemingly human as her wings were concealed. Z seemed to be caught breathless by her beauty. "Ah Mana. I would like you to take care of this child. Z here seems to be attached to it." "Yes my Lady," Mana replied. She exited to one of the rooms with Z's gaze still following her. The three of them continued on down the corridor. "I also have Dumah searching for the Angel's lair. If we can find it it will give us an advantage over them," Lucifer continued. "I also want revenge for Azrael's life. But onto other matters. With Azrael's unfortunate death there is now a place available on the council. I have been meaning to make you a member for a long time but you disappeared when the void opened. I am now asking whether you would join the council?" Annie
"I am now asking whether you would join the council?" Mutuol stopped abruptly, nearly knocking Z to his rump. The fallen glanced at one another for a moment before either spoke, Mutuol being the voice. "You know it would be my honor, m'lady," Mutuol bowed softly, never taking his gaze from Lucifer. "Splendid, we shall inform the present council at once. And you shall seat beside me, Mutuol," Lucifer clasped her delicate, yet fierce, hands together. Z gave his 'companion' a mocking wink, only to be shot with an icey glare from Mutuol. Lucifer chuckled at the two's behavior and motioned them to enter a grand chamber. The room was decorated, and greatly elaborated, with royal blues and soft golds. Heavy tapestries draped wall-high windows, only allowing slivers of sunlight to peep through. Ivory busts of great world leaders aligned the walls; which were filled with stunning artwork. The table, made of the same marble as the busts, perched in the middle of the chamber of council. The high-backed seats were cushioned with the same blue material as the tapestries, the threading in gold. Golden goblets occupied each seat, empty or filled. "Well, God be damned.." Z whistled, "You immortal fallens sure know how to live.." Mutuol and Lucifer smiled and took their seat. Z soon followed, naturally sitting next to Mutuol. Whether this was out of some sort of protection or loyalty, Mutuol could not decide. Either way, he enjoyed Z's company. "So, you've sent Dumah to find the Angel's Lair," Mutuol began, folding his cloak over the arm of the chair. "Yes, I have not received a word from him just yet. Considering, I sent him out no more than three hours ago," Lucifer crossed her leg. "Yes, it would be a bit ridiculous if he had contacted you just yet," Mutuol chuckled playfully. "I guess you could say that I am ancy. It would be magnificant if we could penitrate their lair.." Lucifer trailed off. "You are doing it again, m'lady..'' "Oh, right. So many thoughts flood my mind, I lose track of where I am in those thoughts," she leant over onto the table, holding her face up with the palm of her hand. "Where are the others? Uriel and Damien cannot be the only ones out in search for you?" "No, there are others. They are mere worshipers, ghouls, and of the sorts." "And you are here unprotected?" Z twirled a dinner knife in his fingers. "Of course not, I have Titus to keep me company," Lucifer smiled appreciatively and pointed towards the corner directly behind her. A dark, robbed figure stood in silence. He carried a broadswoard, which glimmered in the shadows of his robes. The only part of Titus' body that was visible was his mouth area, and, if he looked at you, his sapphire eyes. Z nodded, keeping a cautious eye on Titus. Mutual gave a slight salute at Titus. "Good choice, dear. Titus suits you," Mutuol smirked. "Welcome back to me, Mutuol. And thank you for becoming part of the council." "My thanks to you as well. Lucifer, dear, what is my first assignment?" "To find that son of a bitch who murdered Azrael....and bring me his head." "It will be my utmost pleasure."
Blayze
The building was adorned with stone gargoyles, shaped like grotesque mimickries of angels. The perfect place for a Fallen Angel. Uriel knelt on the balcony, sensing great power somewhere nearby. It was a force of unimaginable good energy, so it was either an angel, or The Key, which would be much better than an angel, but Uriel could live with finding himself an angel to slaughter. He spread his blood-red wings, given to him by The Almighty Father to scare those who wished to enter the garden of Eden away. He leapt off the balcony and flapped his wings. He flew gracefully through the air, and followed his senses to the power he felt. It grew stronger and stronger as he got closer, then found a humanoid figure perched on a rooftop. It's white wings seemed to almost glow in the dark rainy night. Well, he hadn't found the Key tonight, but at least he could have a little fun with one of his former compatriates. He drew his sword flew towards the angel, kicking it in the head before swooping away. The angel stood up and looked around for it's assaulter. Uriel flew back towards the angel, igniting his sword. It burst into flames, and he slashed as he passed again. The blade took off the angel's head, and there was another dead angel courtesy of Uriel. Sword Breaker
Marcus, returning from his bout with the Fallens, was rather pissed. The rain agitated him, and he was in no mood to fly about in such weather. So, he decided to rest on the rooftops until the weather died down. He landed ontop of an apartment complex, with a massive bilboard int he center, a squat building facing a strange building, lined with wicked gargoyals. Marcus was unsure of why the gargoyals had enticed him to land here, but he felt safe under their unwavering gaze. "Nice day, isn't it?" A soft voice rang out. Marcus turned in suprise, for he had seen no one when he landed. It was an angle, a unfarmilliar one, perched percariously on the edge, his wings outstretched. "Quite." Marcus snapped, his voice showing his contempt. "Heheh, your rather venomous." The soft angle replied, flashing a light smile. Marcus seemed to ignore him, as he flexed his wounded arm painfully. It would be some time before he would have full use of his sword arm again, and it would be rather unsettling to use his right hand. The blood had long since stopped flowing, but his white tunic was stained deep. Turning to avoid any more conersation, Marcus stalked behind the bilboard, where he came to a rest. Then the angle screamed. There was the sound of flame coming to life, of steel from it's scabbered, and, finally, steel on flesh. Then a wicked laughter. Marcus peered around the edge, and saw the angles lifeless body, headless, lying on the rooftop. Shit, Marcus thought to himself, there was an enamy right here! He could not fight him, could he? Yes, he had to fight him. No fallen could be spared it's fate. And thus, Marcus drew his flachion.
sakurasuka
OOC: This is mostly talk, 'cause my person can't do anything of any importance yet, since she's a human... _________________________________ Kotoku stepped inside a nearby shop, yanking Alexander's arm behind her "You really aren't all that smart, are you? Do you realize that it's freezing and raining out there? Sheesh!" Kotoku shook her head and the water in her long orange hair speckled Alex and the wall behind him. "Hey, watch it!" Alex blocked his face with his arm. "Hey, Alex, it's been awhile." Kotoku smiled warmly at him and laughed, letting go of his arm and sitting at one of the tall round tables. Alex followed. "You know, earlier... I saw something else... That was really wierd. I saw another one of them... Bloody and broken, this time, dragging themself into an alley... I tried to talk to it, but it just... Collapsed... I was so scared, I just ran... Why is it that noone else sees them?" Kotoku was reffering to Angels and fallen Angels. She didn't know Alex was one of them. He didn't tell her because they scared her to death. "Really? You saw a dead Fallen An... I mean, you saw one of them die? What did it look like?" Alex wondered... Maybe Lucifer was the one killed... One could only hope. "I don't... I don't really know... It was just... Evil..." Kotoku shook her head. "I really don't remember all that well. Umm... Do you want a hot chocolate? My treat!" She smiled and pulled out five thousand yen from her pocket. "The librarian says she'll pay me for putting books on the shelves! Hehe!" Kotoku didn't wait to hear if he wanted any or not, she just jumped off of the stool. "Be back in a sec...!" She's so... Naive. Well, that's what;s interesting about her. She has three part time jobs, spends most of her free time at the library, inherited her dad's house so she doesn't have to worry about an apartment, yet she's still always broke. She gives half of all her paychecks to hospitals/charities/libraries and then spends the rest on books and food and stuff for her friends. She's an odd one, alright. Alex let his thoughts wander away from the painful ones he was just minutes away thinking. It was much easier just to not worry about anything, like Kotoku. "I'm baaack!! A mocha latte for me, and... Get this, I thought I'd go crazy, a peppermint cappuccino with caramel whipped cream and a cute little candy cane stirrer for you ^^ Neat, huh?" Kotoku put the drinks on the table and went to sit down. "Umm... Yeah, sure..." Alex sipped his odd peppermint/caramel mixture. Mostly out of politness, rather than taste. "You like? The guy behind the counter said he'd never made somethin' like that before, and he muttered something about crazy dames and their drinks..." She looked thoughtfully into space. "Sure. It's fine." He leaned back in his chair/stool thing. "Well, it's been years now... D'you think I'll ever find my dad? Do you think maybe that demon thingie had anything to do with the ones that took him?" Kotoku realized that it is 99% sure her dad was dead, killed by the beasts, but she just needed closure. I don't know, Kotoku, I really don't know...
Revelation
"There was fear in her eyes as she stood in front of the angel of death. She stepped back as he seemed to drifted towards her. She knew she could not escape his power nor him. It was almost nearly impossible, but she had to try. She had to get away from him and find some way to regain the knowledge she had lost. That sounds about right. Let's see, 22 chapters so far and 140 pages. I think that's good. Maybe 60 more pages, I mean, this is good stuff after all." "Talking to yourself again?" Looking up, Reese was in the doorway looking at Heaven as she closed her notebook. She smiled and Heaven stood up, stretching her arms and legs. She looked at the clock and noticed it was 2:30. Lunchtime. Heaven looked at Reese with puppy-dog eyes and Reese sighed. "Come with me. Your food's getting cold. I made macaroni and cheese, your favorite dish." A sarcastic tone came from Reese as she led Heaven to the counter. "Here. Sit down and eat your food." With a smile on her face, Heaven picked up the fork and began to eat. It didn't take long for her to finish. She stood and thanked Reese, who gave Heaven her stuff and an umbrella. "Be careful. Don't catch a cold, ok?" Nodding, Heaven walked out and opened the umbrella. Savoring every moment as she took a step back home. Letting the scent of rain swirl around her, enveloping her in an aroma of undenying purity. But something in the air was not right. It was a strange scent, a scent that Heaven had noticed before one night. It hung in the air like a distant memory, as if time itself stopped only for that moment. A chill ran down Heaven's spine. Something was definitely not right and she was about to soon see why.
Kairi
Alexander himself didn't know the fate of Kotoku's father...the issue was a mystery to him. The matter was a great interest to him; another reason why he was so drawn and taken in by her. He felt sorrow and took pitty on her. He sensed that there was something different about this human...when Alexander first met Kotoku, he merely stayed with her to lift her up in her times of need. Doing what he has done since the beginning of time. His spirit living in every being of this world. Ones councel, ones support, ones conscience. And every now and then, Alexander would take a particular interest with a human for a certain amount of time. To see what kind of potential could be unlocked within them. But it has been 2 years now that Kotoku and Alex have known each other. Despite his better judgement; to keep his distance, he befriended her. With her, he felt connected with the rest of humanity once again...to live among them as one of their own kind. As like Kotoku, he didn't have to worry about everything else that was going around him. It gave him a sense of peace. He even went as far as to allow his human form to grow up with her. He even lived at the house of hers from time to time... But right now...his mind was on other things. Especially about the wounded fallen angel that Kotoku had mentioned before. Is something wrong Alex, you seem very distance this evening... No no...its nothing, I'm just thinking about what you saw earlier today. I still can't believe that you put up with me and my foolish visions. No one else believes me but you Alex. Kotoku shaking her head as she closed her eyes to take another sip of her mocha latte. You're not foolish Kotoku, I believe you...and rest assured; I know that you and I will find out the truth about your father, together. Kotoku raised her mouth from the latte with foam on her lips, a grin of appreciation to Alex's words. Seeing the foam on her lips, Alex suddenly burst into a friendly laughter as she joined in with him as well. Whipping the foam from her mouth. So have you found a place to stay yet... No, I've been staying with friends around the neighborhood. As I've told you before Kotoku, I don't have any family members still living. No one will take me in yet...oh well, we shall see what God has for me I guess. Lowering her voice very gently and affectionately... You know, all you have to do is ask. What do u mean? Oh don't be so dense with me Alex... she said with a very irritated voice. It felt like the entire shop began to heat up with tension. Alex knew what she was getting at. But he never felt completely comfortable living in a house alone with a human. In a tone of confidence and yet arrogance... Well, you're gonna stay with me till you find a home whether you like it or not Alex. Alex was completely shocked at the young girls boldness. As shy as she was around strangers; she was always so open with him. Um...I don't want to be a bother. Don't be silly, I understand how it is to loss your parents...you are my best friend Alex. You are always welcome in my house. (obviously a lie that Alex came up with to hide his identify) Thank you...I owe you one. Shall we go...its getting fairly dark outside; and its still raining pretty hard out there. Yes...of course. Both kids placed their cups down on the table and began to walk out the door. Are my things still at your house from before Kotoku? Yes they are, right where you left them last month. Thanks...since we don't have an umbrella, and I don't have a jacket...lets see who can get to the train station first...ok. Yes yes...that will be fun. 1, 2, 3 go! All of a sudden Kotoku burst out running through the door and into the wet streets. It didn't take long for Alex to catch up to her and get ahead. But then...a dark chill came upon him, making him stop right away. It wasn't took long after Kotoku passed him that she felt that something was wrong. Alex...we're getting wet...whats wrong! But he didn't hear her...all he saw was the fallen angel looking down at him from a surrounding rooftop. It was Dumah, his eyes scanning every inch of his body. Wha...what is he doing here? Alex...what are you looking at!? Alex turned sharply towards Kotoku as she approached him and took her by the hand leading her away, preventing her from seeing the fallen angel. It's nothing...I was just tired from running thats all. Come now...we're getting wet. Lets get you home... Kotoku could sense that he was irritated and concerned about something...but she didn't question her friend. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation... Alexander muttered to himself as he took a deep breathe, feeling Dumah's presense approaching them...following them... but deliver us...from the evil one. *** If you do act Dumah...don't reviel Alexanders true identity in front of Kotoku...thanx
Meggido
Lucifer was alone again. She could think about her friend Azrael. It was Azrael who had helped her rally so many people to her cause. Her thoughts were interrupted by the door creaking open. Damien poked his head through the door and slowly made his way in. "Ah Lucifer. I have a slight problem," He stammered. "I lost Uriel." " You What?" Lucifer exclaimed. "Lost him. After leaving the council meeting he just took off. I tried to chase him down but he disappeared in the rain." "You know how rash he can be. You were supposed to remain with him at all times," She suddenly noticed that Damien was wearing a crucifix. She crossed the room, ripped the chain from his neck. She crushed the cross in her bare hands. "What have I told you about wearing Christian symbols?" She screeched." Now leave and find that idiot Uriel.
Hinata
Gabriel landed on the rooftop the rain pouring on him as well. He was going to find Marcus but thought better if he let the angel be alone for now. They could talk later. Gabriel strecthed his wings out once more before letting them tuck themselves against his back. They seemed to shrink and become absored into his skin but he knew it was an illusion. He disliked being in human presence at times. Having to be like one of them Having to look like one of them or cause one heck of a panic if he were to reveal himself. A dark jacket seemed to materialize on his shoulders and his sword lay well hidden underneath it. Also illusions, this was how he was able to change his body image at times. He loved the trick. He walked to the edge of the roof looking down into a alley way about 50 ft below and jumped down flipping and then squatting as he landed to absord the shock. It didn't really hurt him, but he used this each time to see if his body had begun to become adapt to living on Earth for so long. As of yet no change. He stood up slowly and his dark eyes pointed at the alleyway's exit and he began to move. The streets were crowed even for a rainy day. People moving with their umbrellas or just running hoping that a downpour wouldn't insue before they reached their destinations. Gabriel just walked. His head held up and the water soaking his shoulder lenght dark locks. A strand invading his face. The woman passing on the street looked on in awe. So did some of the men. All of them wondering if he was man, woman, both.... He laughed at the thought and his voice made the gender association for the people no easier. His voice was heartful and fullfilling, somewhat sensual, but not very deep for people to make up thier minds. He kept moving, not giving much more thoughts to humans and their delight in his loooks. He kept moving and looked around not noticing the young lady in front of him and bumped into her. "HEY!" She yelled looking back at him. He stepped back and held his hands up."I'm sorry I wasn't...." She smirked a little and then glanced at his face, a sincere look crossed his face. "..I wasn't paying attention. A-are you okay?" He looked at her face. She looked very young but her figure said something else. Her long red hair flwoing underneath her umbrella. He kept looking into her eyes, hoping for a reply. "Yes I'm fine." "Good," he started his voice cheering up. He sounded as if he was flirting. Was he? He held out his hand to her. "Again sorry about that, my name is Gabriel. Yours?" "Heaven," she shook his hand back and then quickly let go. "Now if you excuse me... I need to go." She broke eye contact with him and kept moving down the sidewalk. He moved as well watching her for a bit as she disappeared into the crowd. His pace slowed as the downpour began. He kept walking, seeing once again remembering her face. "Heaven." He grinned and quickened his pace. The sidewalks becoming deserted as people began to seek shelter.
Meggido
Lucifer stood up and turned to the dark corner where Titus was standing. "I'm going out. I f you want to follow me do so but I don't really think it is necessary." She said. "As you wish," He replied. With that Lucifer left the building. An Hour later Lucifer walked a down the main street when suddenly she felt a strange presence behind her. It was that of an Angel but not of an ordinary Angel. She new who it was immediately. "So we meet again, Gabriel." She said without turning around. "So it would seem my old friend," He replied. "It has been so long that I thought you had taken your own life to try and get into Heaven." "Ha! What would be the point in that? I wouldn't have the chance to take yours." She responded. " So it would seem that you have not found Agoriad?" "What if I said we had?" Was the response. "I would say that you bluff. If you had found it then this war would be over and you would be back in Heaven. We would probably have been destroyed." "So true. I really followed you to say I am sorry for Azrael. I know she was close to you, but you and your fellow comrades have betrayed God." Gabriel said. "So it was you who killed Azrael. If it wasn't for all these people I would kill you right here." Lucifer growled. "Well I killed your friend but it was Marcus who did most of the damage." "How unbecoming of an Angel to use dirty tactics. May we never meet again for if we do I will kill you, old friend." "Yes, Farewell." With that the two parted in opposite directions. Upon reaching the mansion Lucifer turned to Namel at the door. "I want you to get me Mutuol."
Hinata
Gabriel smiled as he came upon the Fallen one. And seeing her face made him once again think of home. But that temper... TK TSK TSK, He thought as he kept moving the torrents letting up. Lucifer had always been the hot headed one. Her attitude and body langueage reflecting her feelings. What a body she had. He shook his head with the naughty thoughts that tried to barge in and opened his eyes looking at the sky. Now I see why Adam had a hard time resiting Eve's temptation. The female body was a mess he thought. The curves that could send any of the male species haywire. He thought of her before she turned against God. A lovely sight among the female angels. May of them adoring her beauty as she was one of the first to be female oriented. He was made male. Kucjy on his part for he was meant to be a warrior of God. A fighter where a strong looking body could help feter enemies. Well most of them. Lucifer was the real exception. She was a tough and strong as any other angel he had know, and her intellilect made her desirable. Maybe the piece that really caused such ellure about her. He let is memories of her go now. For nothing could change the fact she was his enemy but he had to admit one thing as she turned away from him and walked a sepreate path...... He called out as she left.."You still look good Lucifer...." the other words triled off into his own head never making it past his lips. Too bad I have to defeat you....
sakurasuka
"Hey, why're you acting so... Wierd? I mean..." She closed her eyes a minute. She felt it, a blatently evil presence. "I'm not... Acting wierd. Thank you again for allowing me to stay with you." He glancced half-heartedly over his shoulder, as if maybe to catch a glimpse of Dumah "I feel one of them. This is the same feeling I got when... He dissapeared..." Kotoku, abandoning all reason, twirled around on her heel and dashed in the direction she'd just come, the direction Alex saw Dumah. "Kotoku! GET BACK HERE!!!" Alex chased after her. I'm gonna catch it this time... I have to... I'll never be able to get on with my life untill I find out what happened to him...! "Kotoku, you can't... You can't beat him!" Alex lost sight of her when she rounded the corner, but only for a second or two. "You... Who are you?" Kotoku growled angrily at the tall shadow of a person that she faced... There was noone else on the street or sidewalk... They were all alone with Dumah... "Hmmm... Hello Alexander." Dumah stepped foreward. His voice was cold... Like ice... It chilled Kotoku to he bone, more so even than the rain... "Leave her alone, Dumah!" Alex stepped between Kotoku and Dumah, his aqua eyes flaming. Dumah gripped Silence excitedly. Alex knew he'd have to run or fight... "What did you people... (If I should even call you that)... Do to my father?" She stepped sideways, out of Alex's shadow. "Why do you... All of you... Follow me everywhere...?" tears formed in the corners of her eyes. Dumah loved it. The pain, the fear, the bad memories, it was great... But soething about her disturbed him. Well... You seem to have quite the sixth sence for a human. I'll see you again, no doubt... Kotoku heard his voice, but his mouth wasn't moving. She wondered if Alex heard it, too. Huge wings fluttered from his back, lifting him up, over the buildings, and out of sight. Dumah wondered as well why she was the only human to have seen them multiple times. She may be important... In finding the Key. He wouldn't kill her yet. Nor Alex. Let him squirm a bit longer... "Evil bastard..." Alex saw the look in his eyes. He craved blood... "That's the second time I've spoken to one..." Her expression made her look as if she was about to cry, but she just turned around and walked. "The... Second? Who else did you..." Alex walked right beside her. "The one... Who killed my mom. It tried to kill me, too, but I ran when I saw mom's body... It was terrible... All mangled and bloody... I was just scared... Just like the other day when I saw that... Thing... But this time I wasn't scared. Even though all common sence told me to turn and run, this time I wasn't frozen with fear... Thank you." She smiled at him. "I... Didn't know... Why are you thanking me?" He looked at her questioningly. "I think... Maybe I wasn't scared because you were there. Hey, we're almost to my house..." About 15 minutes later. Kotoku skipped up the steps, opening the door and entering. Her house was painted orange. She said it used to be grey, but it made her too sad when she looked at it. It was similar to a condo, only it wasn't quite attached to the houses next to it, and it was a bit bigger. It was located in the outskirts of Tokyo. A small grey and black cat greeted them at the door, and spoke... "Welcome home, Kotoku." ""Hi, Aisuru!" She picked up the talking cat and Alex stumbled backwards, "Your cat... Talks?" "Yep. Well, it's not really a cat... I got lonely here all alone, but I can't have a pet 'cause I never know when I'll be at the library all night or get a christmas bonus and decide to head off to some other country for a week or something. Yeah, I'd forget to feed it since I'm not home very often, so I made a robotic cat. It talks, it purrs, and it's a good friend." She scratched the cat behind it's ears and it meowed. "Oh... Okay..." Alex stepped inside. He was relieved Dumah didn't try to hurt Kotoku. He wondered why, though... She was just a human in his eyes, why wouldn't he... Dumah was most likely spying on him, not her. Alex didn't want Kotoku in the path of danger again, but he couldn't leave her now. There was a reason Dumah spared her.
Jim_Hawking
Sorry it took so long for me to post. No access over weekend. "I seriously don't get paid enough for this gig." The one named Tabris graoned as he made his way into the territory of the Fallen Ones. "One of these days, they're gonna kill me. I just know it. And for no good reason either..." Tabris made his way to Lucifer's mansion. The only reason he was even allowed near the mansion was because he struck a deal between himself and the "Princess of Darkness." He would guide the people she wanted to hell, and he got a small amount of cash. He approached a nearby maid. "Excuse me, but I'm here for 'The List of the Damned,' as she calls it." He said. "Ahh, you're the Neutral one. One moment, I'll be back with it." "Damn, she isn't here." He thought. "Oh well, that might be a good thing. Wouldn't want to catch her in a bad mood..." The maid returned with the list. "Thank you, kind miss." With that, he turned and left the mansion. 15 minutes later "Halfway home and no problems, I think I may just luck out today." He felt an overwhelming holy aura approaching him. "Fuck, just had to say something..." "Tabris, long time no see." A familiar voice called out. "Yeah, same to you...Gabriel." "You don't sound too pleased to see me." "Well, it's just that I really don't want to start anything. If the Fallen Angels saw me talking one of God's mightiest warriors, I'd be gone before I could say 'Holy Shit'. But that's beside the point. Do you have Heaven's list for me yet?" Gabriel nodded. "It's already waiting for you back in Shinjuku. Along with this week's payment." "Ok then, say hey to the others for me." "Tabris, I have a question. Why do you do work for both the Holy and the Fallen?" "It's like I've said numerous times already. I do my best to keep relations from going downhill too quickly. Neither side wants a full-scale war right now." "Just make sure you're on the right side when it does happen though." "Oh, don't worry. Once the Second Conflict begins, I'll be sitting right there in Shinjuku, watching the enitre thing." Tabris waved good-bye to Gabriel and walked away. "This is gonna be one hell of a bad month. I can just tell." Tabris groaned.
Kairi
There was a long silence between the two of them as they both got themselves settled in. Both of them were still wet from the rain, but neither one of them really cared. But there was a certain tension between the two of them. She saw Alex playing with the robotic cat as if it were the real thing. The cat comfortably, without fear cuttled itself around him as he sat crosslegged in front of the door greeting as the cat greeted him. He softly rubbed his hand down the cats back as it gave a ''purr'' of satisfaction. As long as she had known him...that was what she liked the most about him. It was his gentle spirit that drew her to him. And yet he kept himself distant at times...some moments he was so open and heart-warming...but at times, he seemed...alone... Trying to stop looking at him...she continued putting her jacket in the closet...then remembering what had just transpired just a moment ago with the ''creature.'' Are you ok Kotoku? Yea...why wouldn't I be...everythings fine... As she started talking off her shoes. He slowly rose to his feet, excusing the cat...Alex walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her neck in a hug. Burrowing her head into his chest, she grabbed him around the waste and began to cry. I was so scared Alex...what was that thing? I felt such evil emmiting from it. I felt like I was going to die... Its ok now...your safe. Alex started to gently pet her hair in order to calm her. I hate them all...damn them all. My poor mother...I miss mom Alex, I want Dad back. It's so hard sometimes Alex...I don't think I can go on for too much longer. Kotoku just burst into an uncontrolable surge of emotion and tears. It took all of his being to hold back his own tears for her. He felt so connected with Kotoku; her pain was his own. But he knew that he must be strong for her in this time of need. All he wanted to do was to take her sorrow away...slowly he let his spirit become one with hers. Kotoku could feel the warm of Alex's body heat; starting to dry her off from the rain. As well as a gentle calm spread down through her spine throughout her entire body. She didn't know where this love and strength was coming from, but her spirit felt so overwelmed...she started to get very tired. Alex...how did that ''thing'' know your name? Don't worry...I'm sure ''they'' know a lot of things Kotoku... But...I was worried...I thought... My dear Kotoku, my friend...do not be afraid. I am with you... He slided his face across her cheek and through her hair, showing her complete and utter affection. Th....thank you Alex...your the best. I know that I'm safe with you...*sniffle* cause with you...I felt no fear. The battle is not yours to fight Kotoku...you're too hard on yourself. Your mother wants you to be happy...free of worry. Your desires will be shown too you in due time. Hearing his words, she finally felt at peace with herself once more. As tired as she was, she drifted into a pleasant sleep as she stood there in Alex's arms. He could tell that she was asleep...so he lifted her legs into his right arm as his left supported her back as her arm was wrapped around his neck. Gracefully he walked her up to her room...it was dark; and he didn't want bother putting any light in the room and put Kotoku in her bed. As he tucked her underneath the sheets, he gave her a slight kiss on the forehead whispering... Sweet dreams... A few minutes later Alexander was standing outside on top of the roof of Kotoku's house. He could see Mt. Fujiyama in the distance. Mist was surrounding the base of the mountain as it proclaimed its so called ''majesty.'' It was such a grand creation ...nature was always one of the things that Alexander enjoyed the most out of all of God's creations; besides his precious humans. After taking off his shirt...Alex spread forth his four great wings from his back, blue aura surrounded him...hidding his appearance as he transformed into his true form. The aura faded revieling a tall, handsome man with long white/silver hair dangling in from of his eyes coming down his back. His eyes seemed to glow of that of a blue flame. With his firmly toned body, he looked about the age of a 24 year old. Young, and yet possessing a grand majesty about him. His wings seemed to cover the entire rooftop of the house. There is so much I want to share with her, she certainly is like no other human. For her to be able to stand up against Dumah like that... Why did Dumah spare her...obviously he saught me out to get information from me...but why spare her? She was no threat to him...what are the fallen planning? Violently he shook his head to the side...rubbing off the thoughts that were going through his head. He didn't care for those things anymore...all he wanted to do was protect Kotoku. As long as he lived...he would do everything in his power to protect her. He could could still remember the memories; during his time of greatness. To walk in the great streets of heaven. To be among the most elite angels of God...Gabriel, his dear friend Michael, Marcus, and even at one time...Lucifer herself. But times have changed. Unlike the rest of the angels...Alexander chose to come down to earth. He didn't want to be part of God anymore...thus turning himself into an angel...of both good and evil. If anyone tries to hurt your again Kotoku...I swear on my blade, Ultima, that I will spill there blood upon it...I will be with you...always. The blade materialized in Alexander's hand as he raised it and placed it on his forehead. Then bringing it back down to his side...suddenly six glowing balls of light surrounded him and began spinning around his body. One by one they spread apart, still spinning in a circle till they were around the entire house. Spreading his hand out...Alex created a barrier around the house made of pure energy...invisible to the human eye. To think...I was once one of the greatest beings in heaven. And now I have become a guardian to a simple human...whom I've come to care for more than all the treasures of heaven. Alexander knew nothing of love...but he knew he certainly did care for the girl dearly. Dream dreams my friend... *** As he felt the sun rising over the mountain-tops in the early morning...Alexander muttered a prayer; he had been out there all night...keeping his eyes closed in concentration and relaxation. Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed...for his compassions never fail. The are new every morning...great is your faithfullness... To bad you haven't lived up too such promises Lord...he said in conclusion...as he kept watch. Annie
|-Several blocks away from the mansion-| Mutuol stops and gazes into the horizon. A soft warmth caressed his face. It was the sun. Its powerful rays burst through the dispersing clouds. Rotating his wrist, Mutuol carefully examined his hand. His eyes narrowed, watching the pale grey of his flesh turn live and peach. "Earth to Mutuol. I asked you a question," Z nudged the oblivious angel in the ribs. "Sorry, Z. What did you ask me?" "Why did you make me take that baby?" Z tugged Mutuol's arm to continue walking. "That baby, no matter what I think of humans, did not deserve his mother's impudence." "What did she do?" "She died of her greed." Mutuol gritted his teeth. His feet sinking into the puddles of the dilapidated sidewalk. "Greed for what?" "Drugs, sex, money. It disgusts me so," Mutuol's stomach wretched, "That baby would have grown up in such filth. I could not bear the thought of it." Z said nothing. He knew better to question Mutuol's rarity of pity. The two walked on silently. The city bustled with life. Horns blaring, people yelling, and bodies running back and forth. Mutuol lost himself in deep thought until he felt it. He felt a sense of purity. Much like the purity the sunlight cast on his skin. "Z, keep your eyes open for them. I can feel one near us." "Sure thing." Mutuol gently pushed a woman from his path. The two began to cross a pedestrian crosswalk. A flood of faces washed over Mutuol's ever watchful eyes. He scanned the wave of humans carefully, seekingly. Z glanced behind him to make sure he hadn't missed anyone. A boy, no more than twelve years of age, paused on the curb ahead of Mutuol. The two stood nearly six feet in front of another. Mutuol smiled as the boy's face drained of color, replaced by fright. "Well, hello there. Mind if I have a word with you?" Mutuol crept closer. The boy suddenly spun around, bolting off into a corner store. Mutuol quickly pursued, throwing the glass doors into the store's customers. The young boy grabbed anything he could to tosse over his shoulder, in hopes to slow his follower. In fact, it had only slowed himself. The chase continued up a flight of stairs. Mutuol growled in annoyance and pounced on the child, sending the two reeling into a storage room. "Whoa, Mutuol! Don't you think you're bein' a bit harsh on the kid?" Z panted in the doorway. "He is no child...are you?" Mutuol pinned his prey to the floor. "Get your hands off of me! You-" "No, you are not. You may look like a human child, but you are far more than that, Angel," Mutuol gripped the young angel's jaw in one hand, "Say what you will, I dare you.." Mutuol's voice iced over, his grip on the angel's jaw tightened mercilessly. The angel yelped out in pain. "What is your name, dear boy?" "A-Afriel, angel of purity, youth, and prosperity for men.." Afriel's face streamed with steaming sweat and tears. "Afriel, you have two choices today. Choices that will determine if I let you live, or persuade me to kill you. I hope you are aware of the danger you are in with just my touch.." Mutuol's hand slowly blackened. Afriel's eyes bulged, a small whimper crept into his throat. A sly smile snuck to the corner of Mutuol's mouth. "I-I am, Lord Mu-Mutuol," Afriel whispered faintly. "Good boy. Now, I'm going to ask you a couple of questions. If you answer with sincerity, I'll allow you to live. If you do not answer, I shall crush your delicate face in the bare of my hand. Do you understand?" Afriel nodded slowly. "Where is Gabriel?" "I-I'm afraid I cannot say. For, the Sammael doesn't even know his whereabouts. I promise, I do not lie," Afriel flinched, fearing that Mutuol would squeeze. "Very well, Afriel. Sammael would know better than anyone. Second question, where is the Angel's Lair?" Mutuol stretched his ebony wings. "It is not of this country, Lord Mutuol..." Afriel's eyes glided over the black wings. "That answer does not amuse me, Afriel," Mutuol's hand squeezed the angel's fragile bone. "A-ah! I can show you!! Pl-please don't!" Afriel shut his eyes in pain. Z tilted his head. Mutuol flashed a pleased smile, though keeping his relaxed demeanor. Afriel choked and sputtered plees of mercy. "Alright, young Afriel," Mutuol released his grip and stood, "Show us where the Lair is." "Thank you, Lord Mutuol. Your mercy will not be taken for granted," Afriel rose to his knees and bowed. Mutuol and Z glanced at one another. Z looked slightly concerned, but Mutuol winked. Afriel slumped over, both palms flattened on the floor. He gripped at his stomach, coughing up blood. Z jumped back. "Your betrayal to your God, dear Afriel. You will soon become my disciple and loyal servant to Lucifer," Mutuol knelt beside the tossing angel, "Do not fight, Afriel. You only make the transition process worse and excruciating." "I-I don't want this!" "Too bad, kid," Z knelt beside Mutuol, "You signed the contract with your agreement in taking us to the Angel's Lair. Don't worry, kid. I met Lucifer. She's actually very nice." Afriel stumbled to his hands and knees, only to fall back down as he passed out. "He'll be fine once he awakens. He'll be a strong servant," Mutuol lifted the angel's tormented body into his arms, "Let's go back to the mansion. I wish to deliver a gift to Lucifer." "Alrighty then," Z jumped to his feet and followed Mutuol out into the city streets.
Meggido
Lucifer was again sitting in her room when the door opened. Z and Mutuol entered and an angel was being carried under his arms. "Ah. What do we have here?" Lucifer asked. "A new convert. Goes by the name of Afriel. He says he will be able to tell us where the angel's lair is," Mutuol replied. "You have done well Mutuol." Lucifer then turned to the dark corner where Titus was standing. "Titus could you take Afriel to one of the rooms so he can rest." "I will" Titus picked up the body and left the room. Lucifer then turned back to her guest. "I had a talk with Gabriel earlier." "Do you mean the arch-angel Gabriel?" Z asked a bit unsure. "Aren't you meant to be enemies?" "Yes it is who you speak of and though we are enemies we do talk on the rare occasion," Lucifer replied. "He is the one who killed Azrael and though I wanted you to bring the killers head it is my right to take Gabriel's life. I will give you Marcus who was Gabriel's accomplice."
