How to ruin a perfectly good match (Xbox Live-Halo 2)

Something that needs to be accepted is that there are complete and utter bastards out there that you cannot stand. Unfortuanatly there isn't really a mute button when you are taking part in a tourny so you have to live with the ****-wads on the games. Below is my remedy for trash talkers that you partner with.

The best thing is though that sometimes you can't fight temptation when they are on your team so when they are taking part of a big battle in an area that is frequented by snipers (This is also in a game where it doesn't say who wasted who) than keep hidden and blow the A-HOLE away. You will make them start ranting and ( If it does show who wasted who) you can say that you screwed up your shot when they got in the way.

Sure it may label you as a backstabber but if the guys a tightass then it is fine because they would probarbly do the same thing to you in a second. Just don't taunt them or trash-talk because you are lowering yourself to their level. Also don't team-kill often because it is cowardly, just save your anger towards said bastard for a Free for All and blow the guy away. This is my remedy for trash talkers.

Like all things it has to be done in moderation. You have to keep your trashtalking under control. If you are going off everytime you die or are killed than that ruins other peoples experiences with the game. I personally dont talk at all, unless its in responce to somebody else who was talking. Trash talking is not my thing, and I am usually quiet during a match, unless im ragging on one of my friends or something.

That just plain annoyed me; I can't see why it would be so hard to believe that a girl enjoys gaming.
I know what you mean. I myself am a pretty big fan of Halo 2 that just so happens to be a girl. Probably the worst comment I've ever gotten was when I was matchmaking with a few people and someone asks on my team, "Are you a girl?" I just say, "Yeah" and then he tells me "You better not suck" I was like, "What the hell?" to my self. Besides the fact that he was a level four while I was level ten (Levels aren't everything though) I just got me completely pissed but I kept my cool and didn't say anything. But after the round of slayer I humiliated him with 22 kills while he got 10. I was just there laughing to myself as he sat there quiet.
This one was pretty funny but still a little bit annoying. One time I was playing some multi flag CTF and I stayed behind to defend the flag. One of my friends asks if I could marry him but I just laugh and say no. All of a sudden I see four random guys on my team crowding around me asking "Are you a girl?" I say yes then I see them all crouch humping me and killing eachother to get to me. So while we were all distracted one of the enemy?s throw a grenade in the base and we all died. Yeah, that pretty much sucked but we still won.
I also get a lot of completly inappropriate comments about me being a girl like, "You can handle that rocket well. How about mine?" or "Would you like to feel my sword?" I guess it's better than getting complete jerks that like to shove it in your face that they beat you in a measly game but it still gets annoying. Why can't people say "Good game." or "Nice sniping? If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all.

I really dont have anything agianst girl gamers. Ive known some that are bad, but Ive known some that are better than me at halo. Its just like anyone else. NO matter who I lost to or beat, I won/lost, their sex has nothing to do with it. I dont like the people who rip on girls, its classless and outdated.

I am fine with female gamers, always have been and always will be. They are actually quite often more polite then most other people I have met over although there will be exceptions. Before people think of me as a polite player I have to say this, I will sometimes resort to cursing when I take a particually nasty series of hits or am Team Killed but I don't let it get out of hand unlike some gamers.

When i talk about nasty series of hits i mean getting blown up by a series of missles, each bloody time that I respawned. And it was the same guy that killed me each bloody time. The guy was racist as hell and was praticully pursueing and taunting me and I am sick of being taunted by me part Indian heritage. he would go "The vindaloo gun ain't in this game, curry boy" or "Very, Very Good now" in a fake indian accent. I find guys such as this to be particually offensive. So there is one thing to be done, betrayel or sneakiness.

Mind you i am not so bad at shooters myself, So i can dish out the damage as well as the next guy but I am always used as fodder and then I recieve the brunt of the taunting because I am used to flush out enemys. And since I am usually the best runner in a game ( because I react quickly and I am paranoid.) I will be used as the flag grabber or point activator. One of my friends stays behind to guard the base which leaves him with the other players and he says that they start to taunt me because of my heritiage. So I bargian with the enemy revealling plans and strategys to them in exchange for defense and safety of me and my friend. It works against people with very little paranoia so that they would accept me with very little fuss but I may be gunned down within seconds if they are a supscicous bunch.

That's good to know that you guys have your values straight.

In unrelated news don't you hate it when you're about to say good game and then one of your teammates tell the opposing team they suck. Actually after you think about it it's pretty funny but still rude. Yes. Very rude.

Though I'm a little late to this discussion I just felt like adding my 2 cents when it's online and there is any type of communication ability there will always be someone to ruin a good time though thankfully it doesn't happen every game. When I was in my BF1942:DC clan we kept a good reign on the trash talking especially against other teams if you wanted to shout something onto Ventrillo about so and so player it was cool but everyone knew you'd suffer the wrath if you went and typed the same thing in open chat.

Luckily enough my clan was a 21 and up only we didn't have a bunch of jerks or people shouting aim bots we took our lumps and occasionally dished them out in clan matches but because we all were old enough to realise it was just a game there were very few nights we didn't have fun. But there are so many people that just trashed talk or used racial slurs against mates online that it finally came to the 3 strikes rule not all of us had full server access so it was pretty much taking names and locking 'em out later but once we started that we had a lot more fun.

Even now while I'm playing Everquest II there is a lot of trash which makes me thank the developers for putting in a way to block every word that comes out of certain players mouths on your end the Ignore Player button is a beautiful thing. Believe me when I say the trash talk gets just as bad in MMORPG's as it does in any online FPS game and sometimes much worse.
