Legend of Earthsea

Ok, when I heard about the miniseries I was glad because I loved the books of Earthsea, but they changed so much of the book. It's like they Just didn't care about the storyline. For example they changed the names, what I mean is instead of Ged being his true name like in the book, it was Saprrowhawk. It was wrong.
I would tell more, but I don't want to spoil it for anybody else. I was just wondering if anybody else noticed some of the changes.

Didn't watch it and don't plan to. I only read the first book, and it sucked. Part of the problem was author Ursala K. LeGuinn's writing style, which made it almost impossible for me to understand what was going on. It got better near the end of the book, but not better enough.

Yes, I'm aware that watching it instead of reading it would solve that problem, but the story sucked, too. First off, if you read the back of the book, you don't need to read the book, because everything that matters is revealed there. The back cover of a book should give you enough information to tell you what the book is like, but withhold enough so that it's still interesting to read the book.

Even without the back cover, I could have easily predicted almost everything that happened, and did easily predict pretty much everything that wasn't on the back. I hate that. I like to be kept guessing, for it to be difficult to figure things out. I do like solving mysteries and predicting events before they happen, but only if there's a challenge to it. With A Wizard of Earthsea, it was easier than reading the book.
