My Chemical Romance

I don't like punk music that much, but there are a couple punk bands that I do love: AFI and...My Chemical Romance. MCR is a great band, and I've just recently heard them for the first time. My favorite song of theirs' is I'm Not Okay. What does everyone else think about My Chemical Romance? They are really good, but I just really like their vocalist, lol.

Yeah, My Chemical Romance is okay, i love that song I'm Not Okay.. But right now im into Papa Roach aka Getting Away with Murder :devil: Lol, and Crossfade.. But that song is one of my favs ;)

Yeah My Chemical Romance are cool. Ive just recently bought the new album called Three for Sweet Revenge. The album is absolutly awesome with some great songs such as "Give em hell kid" and " Im not okay...I promise". They are a great band and have a shinning future in front of them.

I, personally, am a big My Chemical Romance fan. I like Pa Pa Roach, AC/DC, and other bands, but MCR's lyrics just speak to me. My favorite song by MCR is "Thank you for the Venom" Which isn't about what you'd think it would be. Their music identifies with some of the fans and I think that's why most of the fans like it. :animesmil

Some people say that they don't like My Chemical Romance because they haven't been around as long. And that people haven't grown up with them. But people said the same things when Green Day first came out, or even the Big bands like Metallica. The truth is that we're growing up with them right now. And they might play 'violent music' but oddly enough, the music gets out my anger :animeswea I dunno why.

Anyway, I'm going to a concert in about a month. Any advice from people who've been? It'd be greatly apprciated, considering this is my first concert :blush: I can't wait... This is gonna be one long month.

My Chemical Romance is one of my favourite bands right now... Though the lead singer is a little creepy in the Helena music video o_O (He's so frick'n pale!). My favourite songs are Helena, To The End, and I'm Not Okay (I Promise).

I saw them live the other day, having never heard any of their stuff before. They seemed pretty good, really got the crowd going. Their not really my thing but I was at a festival so caught some of them before watching someone else.

I really don't care for My Chemical Romance much at all. It's not because they haven't "been around" so much as their music just really rubs me the wrong way for some reason. And I like to think that I'm pretty flexible when it comes to music, so I don't really know why I don't like them...

A lot of people seem to like them though, so they must be doing something right ^_^ They just don't appeal to me I guess.

*Shrug* Screamo music is only so much fun. I actually gagged when I saw the "Helena" music video. They seem to be buying into their fame more than the possibility of creating some sort of meaningful sound. I think they should take a lesson from the Dead Kennedys.

I love that band they are my life. Well not really,but they are my favorite musical group.I was with my friend and I slept over at her house and I left it there and I am super pissed at my self. It's funny how the saying goes "You never know how much something meant to you unless you lose it" or something like that. Well anyways I love my chemical romance and I loved the music video 'Helena' so much. It's makes me want to cry my eyes out I love them so much. Also to add to this reply. I think
Gerard Way is so hot. If a guy can where make up and have hair that goes in front of their eyes I'm sold. He is so hot.

Ah to me they are another wanna be Blink 182 band. I don't much care for them but the song Helena is good. But that is all that is good about this band (IMO).

My Chemical Romance is I think so far the greatest rookie band this year.. Because they had soo many hits with Im not Ok and Helena they should of got a reward at the VMA's but maybe next year they can go to that perspective and try to win!

[COLOR=#006aaf][SIZE=1]I don't tend to care for the type of music that My Chemical Romance plays. (Plus, I've only heard that one song they've been playing on loop on VH1). And they play into the whole goth and emo look too much for my taste, judging by the way they looked in the Helena video.

Also, I was flipping through channels last night, and came upon some show (either on MTV or VH1) and they were playing a live concert. Now, I had heard their hit song about a hundred times by now, and so I knew how it went. But since they were playing live, he sounded tired and couldn't hit all the notes right, and he became way too adventurous with the melody.

But, I gotta hand it to 'em. Their song has a catchy chorus. (Stupid "Helena" needs to get out of my head. T.T)[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Infact, the main singer scares my sister and me, he truely looks like a zombie. Plus their songs sound all the same, however I do like "Helena" no matter how much they repeat it on the radio.

I found it interesting that they won an MTV award since most artists that win awards from that channel are usually hiphop artists. They really need to get into some better clothes and actually make music that sounds different. Same thing seems to be happening to green day. Then, maybe I'll tune into their music. But until then, I'll just stick with the one song I can stand.[/FONT][/SIZE]

After I got their most recent CD, "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge", I could listen to the CD for 4+ weeks without changing it out for any other CD, without getting tired of it. The melodies are perfect, in my opinion, and the lyrics are beautiful. (Personal favorites from the album: "Thank You for the Venom", "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison", "To the End", "Helena", and "It's Not a Fashion Statement, it's a Deathwish." *)

I was bummed that Green Day beat them in the "Rock Video" category this year at the VMA's. No offense to Green Day fans, because I like Green Day alright and all... but the concept, choreography, the make-up, and just the SONG itself, was so beautiful and haunting. Then we have "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", the same lines over and over, with the guys of Green Day walking around, acting all mopey and singing about how lonely they are.

(I thought MCR had that one in the bag. -_-)

Oh, and I'm not going to comment about MCR's image. I'm not one to say that someone 'needs to go for a unique look' or the like, you know? I think their music is quite unique, but I still know a great deal of people who disagree with me... the way I see it, either you hate them or you love them.[/font][/size]

Hehe, as you can see by my avatar, I love this band. I have both of their CDs, and my favourite songs are: Demolition Lovers, Give 'em Hell Kid, I Never Told You What I Do For A Living, Our Lady Of Sorrows, and The Ghost Of You. I never really liked their song "I'm Not Okay". It's always seemed a bit boring to me. Helena's okay though. I'm glad they made a video for Ghost of You cause it's a nice song.

I've also had the chance to see them live at Taste Of Chaos, and Warped Tour! They are really great live. I didn't like the way they sounded at the VMAs though, must be because it was on tv, or something.

[font=trebuchet ms]I kinda like MCR, but I never really got into them. Their singles are cool, as well as Ghost of You and maybe a few others, but they're not that great. I'm not into that choppy style of singing mixed with the Green Day-sounding guitar strumming. In short, it's nothing amazing to me. I'm fairly sick of cookie cutter pop-punk/alt rock bands, if there is a good one, MCR is one of the best.

More interesting bands that sound similar are Christiansen and AutoDefe, both are on PureVolume. Both of these bands recieve my highest recommendation for that style of music.[/font]

But that's just make-up. If you've ever seen him without the make-up or the blood-shot eyes(the "I'm not okay" video) He's kinda ([U]kinda[/U]) cute. :3

It really annoys me when people say that they suck because they are "Main Stream" and that they aren't a real band. Eh.. a lot of bands are "Main Stream", and last time I checked, it wasn't the end of the world for a band because they had a few music videos done.
Anyway... I'm really sick of "I'm Not Okay... I Promise," too many people playing it, too many people acting like they are hardcore fans just because they've heard it. But I absolutely love the songs, "the Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You" and "Cemetery Drive," I guess those are some of their calmer songs. *shrugs*
Not many people realize that they had a CD before this one. I haven't been able to buy it yet, with my shortage of money, but I will soon enough.
I think one of the things that is really nice about them is that they are so dedicated to their fans. They aren't too stuck on themselves, which is always a definite plus. I tend to like bands that are more focused on their actual music and fans, instead of themselves.

Anyway, I love My Chemical Romance. And I'm black. That may seem irrelevant, but whenever I tell my friend George that I'm listening to and enjoying MCR, he rolls his eyes and says, "Dude, you're so not black." I'm quite fond of Emo music, actually, so I enjoy Fall Out Boy as well.

The only CD I own by My Chemical Romance is Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. I hope to get the rest. Oh and, sidenote, they do suck in concert. I heard them on MTV, they SLAUGHTERED Helena, and every other song they played. I cried.[/SIZE]

I like MCR's song "My Chemical Romance",but I'm currently into Papa Roach "Getting Away Wth Murder". That song rocks! I've also been listening to The Used lately.^-^Those guys rock too. But my favorite band above all other bands is Evanescence!

[SIZE=1]I don't know the origin of this band but from what I hear on the radio, I don't like them. I wouldn't classify them as "Punk". I think they are more of an "Emotional Rock" band. Although I cannot tell the difference between the two genres now-a-days. I heard them at the VMA's and they sounded horrible live. I must say that "Helena" is a catchy song, but I don't consider it as a great one. It gets very annoying after the 20th scream. [/SIZE]
