Sword Breaker
Yep, yet another rather personal question by SB :) Well, I'm just wondering what the average IQ for the OB is, mainly because I'm ever curious. :) For those of you who don't know your IQ, you can take a test here , please do the 12 min timed test, then post the results (Above average, below, universal geniosu ETC.) DeadSeraphim
IQ tests are pretty irrelevant. They don't actually measure your intelligence, rather, they measure your ability to do IQ tests. So many people take them as proof of whether you're dumb or not, though, which is a bit sad, heh. Last time I did an IQ test my IQ was 142. I have a friend who has 178, but he's notoriously stubborn and scores grades in the low Bs, high Cs, so I guess that shows the validity of them, lol.
Baron Samedi
You should do this test Alan, to standardise us all, and whatnot ;) I scored 130, and finished with just under 2 minutes to go. Sadly my maths brain wasn't exactly in gear today. Had to just guess a few.
wiccansamurai
I took an IQ test. Wanna know what I realized? How much I hate iQ tests. I got a 130, though, which is ok.
Shinmaru
I got a 135, so apparently I'm pretty smart. Funny, I don't feel very smart for wasting nine and a half minutes of my life on this test. :)
2010DigitalBoy
I took one just 5 days ago and got a 139. That makes me feel quite special. Then I felt dumb when my mom took the same test and scored a 147. Holy ducking snit.
Delta
Got 131. Darn. Ran out of time with 2 more questions to crack. Oh yeah, I also took the "Ultimate IQ Quiz" (?) and got a measly 120. In another site (Tickle.com), I got 164. Exactly why I don't take IQ test results seriously. ;) Love and Peace! MissWem
Eh hehe, I scored lower than the last time when I did one earlier this year : / I feel smart, 110. I feel cranky they gave so many math questions, I severly dislike math questions. However:
Factors that may have adversely affected your score include lack of sleep and/or physical, mental, or emotional distractions.
I'm watching a movie, and it's waay past midnight. Perhaps bed is in order. I agree with Freude though, I keep getting different score in different sites.
Juke Box Hero
I don't believe that IQ tests do anything to accurately measure intelligence. Neither do grades or test results.. But grades are a measure (accurate or not, is totally debateable) of applied intelligence and work, and in that regard I do about a 95% course average overall for this past semester. Strange... Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Honestly I don't really pay much attention to I.Q. tests as they only rate the one section of the psyche when in fact there are several that would be needed to be rated in order to get a more complete idea of a person. In saying I had a proper Mensa set I.Q. test a while back and scored a nice 148 on the test, and although I know that it only rates a small sector of my personality I was rather happy. After all a Mensa test can't be far from being the genuine article, although again it does only rate one part of your personality.
Vicky
I took the test and got everything right... Yeah... Actually I took the test, had no idea about half of the stuff and then guessed and randomly clicked answers half way through, so I got a nice below averge. I just have one question: How the hell can that determain someone's intelligence? Not mine, anyway, since I haven't covered anything like that in my life so far, and I suck at maths, not to mention that one or two questions were about currency and rubbish, so it was dollars and I prefer pounds so... yeah... *Shrugs* I've never done an IQ test before, too young I'd say to even be able to properly guess half of the stuff on the 12 minute one.

DeathKnight
148. Wait, wait- don't wail on me. I have heard continually that IQ tests are not as accurate as they wish they were, lol. It's good to confirm that most of OB people are somewhere in the above-average range. Wisdom tempered with academic knowledge > tons of academic knowledge with no wisdom.
dMage
A 126, which is the borderline apparently. Like the rest of the OBer's to post before me, I don't give these things much credit.
Doc
Sadly, I took the test two times. 1st time this morning, and got about... I think it was 120, but I took in now at...11:10 pm and got a 114. God, not only do I need some sleep, but I also don't believe in the IQ tests like most of the people here. I'll take it again tomorrow after breakfast and edit with my new results. I also don't give these tests credit because I am in, and have been in gifted classes all my life, WHICH I HATE!!!! Lady_Rin
On the Stanford-Binet scale I measrre 144 and Ranger is 140. We both belong to Mensa. Neither one of us accepts the scoring of any IQ test as there is no real standard. The Stanford-Binet test which is the most commonly used is really meant for children. Also note that IQ changes with age and education and really should be a measure of learning ability.
Ezekiel
I scored 110 --; and I am joining the ranks of people who think these things are innacurate. Not because I got a low score but becase I I know I'm one of the smartest in my year. Plus the fact that I'm ill and have only just got up ^^;; I'll take this when I'm fit and well and see what I get then. I also hate it when I'm being timed, too much stress if you ask me.
AzureWolf
I think a lot of you are misinterpreting what it means to be intelligent. That doesn't mean you have the highest grades, or that you know the most math. Rather, it is your reasoning skills and your capacity to apply it properly. I guess, though, reasoning can be taught, so there's another thing out the window. But see, that's why IQ tests are preferrably administered early, so they can see your "raw" reasoning skill. I like IQ tests. They usually are accurate. Again, high or low IQs are not reflected in school performance. Everyone can learn, and that's what school is for. Not everyone reasons through things the same, and that's what IQ tests measure. Don't worry, when I take the test and do bad, I too won't believe in them. :p

Delta
Out of curiousity, if you don't give it much credit, why do you keep taking it?
Same reason why I take tests in the lines of "What Anime Villain Are You" probably. Yeah, just as Azure said, IQ isn't reflected in school grades; four years ago, my IQ was really high (whatever did happen?) but I was failing Math miserably. And really, I don't see the point of knowing which of the five 3d figures do not match the unfolded pattern... unless you like folding dodecahedral boxes. Hey, I've a question! Does anyone know Bush's IQ? I googled it and different numbers came up (91, 125,131+). So which one is it? Love and Peace!
Moi
I took an IQ test a year ago, and I got a 142, so that's very good. Your IQ doesn't change but by maybe a few digits in your whole lifetime, and it measures your intelligence quotient, which isn't such a big deal. It doesn't show really if you're dumb or not, unless you get like a 60 or something, lol. -ville :smirk:
EVA Unit 100
I was doing a kids IQ test a while back, but I was annoyed by how easy it was and ended up doing the test for the next age group up. I did well, but I couldn't be given an exact number. I'm guessing mine's somewhere around 130.
