Kiba_the_Chosen
In the world today you would find segregation being in many parts of the world. I'm just saying. The conflict between African Americans and the english were just National. I talking about segregation in school, in the work place, in anywhere you think of. I mean don't people base there conclusive results by outer apparence, talking, and their past. I mean how would you treat a guy who came up to you and said do you want a cocktail in a modest way. You would probably say yes please. If a guy who smelled bad and was holding his pants and looked at you and said want a cocktail you would be offended. There is different segreagation in our world today I just want to her examples and thoughts you people think.
Juke Box Hero
Its not segregation, its courtesy. And being a chauvinistic white Protestant male, I expect my cocktails to be delivered by Asian females wearing miniskirts who are no older than 21. James
I think I know what you're getting at, Kiba. I would say that maybe it's a self-imposed segregation. As in, creating divisions between different types of people for whatever reason (usually fear/misunderstanding). But by the same token, people do have different backgrounds and different interests. Some of these seperations aren't necessarily problematic -- I mean, there are probably people I just wouldn't want to hang around with because we are quite different people.
Kiba_the_Chosen
Yeah I do guess that would be true but let's change this question. What if the people that are like extremly bad in the past become good. I mean would you exclude him/her for the past or what he/she done now. I know people wouldn't trust him. The question I am sort of making is what impressions do you get when someone messes up on their first impression. It would be like not voting Micheal Jackson president because of his past. I mean he can't go and take everyone's child they would impeach him. I am thus creating an extreme. I mean the little things like appearence and what not. Helios
It's really everybody's issue. People, by nature, tend to gather with people that are like themselves -- whether it be in interests (music, art, etc), lifestyle (goth, etc), or even color/religion. People simply feel more at-home with people who are similar to them. We'll never fully remove the problems of segregation -- the only way we could is if everybody was exactly alike. In the long run, though, the benefits of diversity outweigh the occasional problems.
wiccansamurai
I wouldn't want a cocktail from either. The second man, because he obviously has no respect for personal hygiene. I don't know where he's been and I really don't want to be around someone like that, much less accept a drink from him. And he was holding his pants. The modent guy could come up to me holding his pants, and I'd still be quite a bit frightened. I wouldn't take the cocktail from the other guy cuz I don't drink, and if I did, I wouldn't take drinks from men I don't know. ;) I wouldn't call staying away from dirty men a bad kind of segregation. More like a choice thats based on your own opinions.
C_Tyrant
well if u think about it this world just cant turn without segregation. Y u ask? u probably didn't but still everything in this world has labels right?. If it didnt have a label u would not know what to call something... Then you have the fact that a majority of people in this world wants a winner and a loser.... u put the two together and you have a society where people think something has to be in a group and it has to be better or worse than some other group... Baron Samedi
Segregation is nothing to do with the bar example. Some people just have taste. The dirty guy might have been perfectly nice, but people ought to have some self respect. And for the rest, I believe you're probably referring more to discrimination. Segregation is where two groups are separated. Not where individuals prefer to be discerning in picking their company. But yeah, discrimination is a problem. And equity in the workplace is a fallacy.
moonlightshadow
Ok, i see what your getting at here and i agree on some terms. But not all people judge in that way. But also stepping out of color and race. What about the way a person dresses? What do you think when you see a goth in the lunchroom? Devil worshipper? Everyone does it i'm not blaming or attacking your opinion i'm just stating mine. Race and color does have alot to do with it but in the past we have seen African-Americans rock out in a metal concert, and a white american perform on stage in a rap concert! I'll admit that i have judged by the color of skin rather then the content of there character. Or if they talk funny or dress different. But when it all comes down to it we are all the same on the inside. I wish Everyone could just forget about segregation and join together...cheesy yeah but it makes sense right? :(

Most of the generation born before 1950 has some sort of racism in them. Racism is taught, yes taught, in some parts of the world(North Korea, Iran, etc.) We will never forget racism. It is embedded as a steriotype.
Inu500
No wait I did hear about. I'm black. Just had to get that out. I think in petersburg and ronake VA there were some black people who where being segreated at the waffle house. The waitress would not let them sit down. She let all the white peole go first. And the the black man went up to her asked her why they didn't sit down yet. And the waitress said please sit back down or I'll have you leave the resteraunt. The mangaer and the staff got fired the next day. I bet they feel stupid. Some people are real ***** you know what I mean. :flaming:
