OB's Best: Memories of 2004

The year 2004 may still have two days left, but I believe this thread should be in order anyway. 2004 has been a memorable year and as we look back on it, you can remember some of the best moments there were. Like in my opinion, the good ole Piro Revolution... the moment I tried to brainwash Otaku[b]Boards[/b] members in one of my wild attempts to take over OB and rule it all. Then PiroMunkie foiled my schemes. Good stuff.

How about you? Any good memories? I'm sure I have many more than that, but I'm just saying the one above to get the ball rollin', aye?

[color=darkslateblue][size=1]Well, I can't really recall many events of this year..sadly. I was gone for the most part of the year. But, I will list what I remember.

1) The Piro Revolution
2) The birth of the Bikini Bandits (my personal "best memory")
3) James discovers the Willy Wonka trailer
4) The downfall of DW in my Bandit story
5) Corey being a Bandit
6) Becoming Mimmi's slave (in a very innocent way..>_>)
7) Syk3 finally updating his myO
8) Black Horizon: Smoke & Mirrors
9) The Legend of Otaku Hollow
10) Syk3 the Corroded Reindeer
11) Time for naked! XD
12) My first flaming (I think only Drix and Siren know what I'm talking about)
13) Accomplicing with Charles to invade DW's signature

Hm..think that's all I have at the moment. If I can think of anything, I'll post it.

[size=1]I have a horrible retention of important events. To tell the truth, I'm not even sure when v7 was launched...but if it was this year, then that would be a high point ;)

Not to mention the AIM discussions leading up to it.

I do believe that Kill Adam [v1 maybe, v2 surely] occurred this year, and they'd have to be on my list as well. I think some things such as 55 Fiction are worthwhile as well. Something else that deserves at the least a footnote in the Annals of OB history is n00bHunter by our dear CrandomHero [Alan].

The loss of some members, such as Kitty and Babygirl was hard as well, though I spoke only with Kitty of those two. The disappearance of some others [or just the fact that they don't tend to post any more] such as The Harlequin, Drix and Radaghast has been disappointing as well. And I'm probably the only one here who misses cloricus.

WIP.net was removed, and has lately been restored, and although that occurred out of the knowledge of most OBers, that was significant.

Oh, and me breaking the 1 year period since my arrival at OB [23 May 05 marks my 2nd year!] was important as well. And breaking 1500 posts.

Sadly there is much that I've forgotten.

I'd have to say that a Highlight for me was Final Flash's flashy return in January. it was great to see an old NZ buddy and one of the first members that I got to know come back, however briefly.

It was also the year that my MyOtaku was launched in it's current iteration, and that's good. Despite the lack of comment entry's. I feel that it might go somewhere in 2005.


Teh DW's sexah comic animations are always a highlight. Syk3 the corroded R3indeer was a excellent and very funny movieness. When will I get cast? (probalby soon and as a whino, I bet, lol)

[color=#811C3A]I think that the most memorable event this year would have to have been the launch of Version 7. We had some teething problems during the first day or so, but it all got ironed out pretty quickly. And here we are, almost a year later, still on the same version. I remember a few people who said "you'll probably just change versions again in two weeks". Hah! ~_^

2005's going to be another big year for our community; there are a few very cool changes coming down the pipeline. [/color]

1. Actually getting AIM because so many people on the OB have it.
2. Starting my first Shounen-ai RPG and meeting Legacy through it.
3. Finding out that Imric has a following. O_o Who knew...
4. Making a very amusing literati board with Mimmi, JJRiddler and Lady A (James wouldn't join in, bah!)
5. The Piro Revolution.
6. Otaku Hollow and other various DW productions.
7. Becoming Jokopoko's apprentice (and mistress ^_~)
8. Becoming Kane's apprentice after Jokopoko went away somewhere for a while T_T

1.) Meeting Japan_86 through chats, and many others. ^_~
2.) Was finally able to change my "Cutie of 2004" avvie/banner set that has been around since early spring, and finally changed it just the other month. XD

4.) DW's animations (if I only had an animation program I'd be on par...mwahaha...)
5.) V.7, which took some getting used to.
6.) Actually using my myOtaku site, even though I never can think of anything to add.

I'm not even going to bother saying the launch of Version 7. What's the use of repeating it when it's been echoed through this thread fifty times now? XD I will say my anniversary was happy because I got a giftness :< But I've been here far too long to tell what anniversary it was. Someone said my fifth, but it all depends on how long ago AbsoluteGameBoy was. O.o

Ah, and memories of me signing up to Kill Adam Volume 2. I may have not gotten in, but it was a fun thing to write :^D

So many memories it is a bit tough to think of everything memorable on the OB for 2004. At the very top of the list for me would be meeting so many interesting people who have now become my friends. A few other highlights would be:

-Becoming a moderator for the Otaku Lounge.
-DW's wonderful animations and plans for message board domination.
-V7 launch.
-My first adventure into banner and avi production.
-Joining a handful of different "groups" like The Cracker Club and A.C.R.O.S.S.
-Meeting Mamma Vash at AX.
-ALL of Charles' great pictures in his posts or when he changes people's avatars to match their true personalities (ie crying baby).
-And everything else I have forgotten about. I will edit this post if I think of other things to add.

2004 was fun and I am sure 2005 is going to be even more exciting here on the OB.

[b]3] Reaching 3 Years on OB:[/b] Another milestone, though knowing me I'll be here until 2010.

[b]4] Version 7:[/b] It's been said a hundred times [well probably less] but I've been here since V3 and each one has brought great new things.

[b]5] Meeting new people:[/b] I used to be a bit of a recluse, only talking to people I know well, however this year has given me the chance to make some great new people from OB.
