Morpheus
I will personally buy the new gameboy and Revolution. The others will depend. I'll like to see what Microsoft does with the fact that their only real advantage(Online) will be gone in this generation. PS3 will most definately be the only present under the tree if I decide on it, since the Cell will cost a pretty penny and then some. Phantom looks promising, but few details have been released by Infinium Labs. PSP has good things, but problems with the system itself will need to be fixed before I'm sold. What do you think. JCBaggee
Well, the new GameBoy is technically out, the Nintendo DS. Its ok, but I'm gonna hang onto my SP. I may get one in a few months, when the system has a bit more support, but the 8 games they have out right now don't interest me. Well...except for Feel The Magic....^_^; As for the other next-gen consoles, I really can't pass judgement right now. I've always been a big Sony fan, so I'll undoubtedly shoot for a PS3, but at the same time I'm about to get me a GameCube, and I'm looking for Nintendo to finally make some form of a comeback (if you could really call it that) and finally remind Sony and Microsoft who their poppa is. 'til then, my PS2 and GBA SP keep me more than happy. But it will be interesting when the end of this year rolls around and the XBox 2 (or XBox Next, whatever) and PS3 get closer to release. --Chris
BlueYoshi
Nintendo DS isn't a GameBoy, and neither is it a part of its product range. My purchase would definitely go to the GBA2. I love handheld gaming, and I think that some of the best games ever have been released for the GBA, not to mention the GameBoy. Hopefully, Nintendo will get it 100% the first time round, because having to get a GBA and then an SP really peeved me off. So, I'm really routing for the next generation of handheld systems. As for the platforms, my reaction towards them are a bit "eh". I mean, I'm expecting great things, but like the current systems out now, I can only say that the number of great games are limited between them. Perhaps time could change my mind though.
James
I honestly think it's a bit too early to ask this question. Apart from rumors and a few basic facts, nobody knows much about the next generation game systems. I think that Microsoft are going to jump out of the gate with a lot more power behind them than last time, though. More developer support and a much larger early library are my bets. I think you can also expect Xbox 2/Xenon to be a much nicer piece of hardware in general (ie: smaller, more attractive and a lot more functional than Xbox). PS3...who knows, really. We know it'll be insanely powerful and we know that it'll be a flexible machine (in terms of interacting with other Sony devices, possibly). Other than that, nobody knows much. It uses Blu-Ray, which will be brilliant for games. But yeah, that's about all anyone knows. Oh, except that it will apparently use a next generation GPU designed by nVidia. And Revolution...even less is known about that. Nobody knows what storage format it'll use, nobody knows what the controller will be like (except that it will be something very different) and nobody really knows much about the hardware. The only thing known for sure about hardware is that Nintendo will continue to go with ATi for graphics technology. Right now, my main goal is probably to buy Nintendo DS and PSP sometime this year. After that (assuming that Revolution/PS3 release in the same year), I will probably go for Revolution next...unless something about that system majorly turns me off. But really, if it has Nintendo games on it, then that's enough to sell it to me. I'd love to get a PS3 and Xbox 2 as well, but since I'm not made of money, I guess that PS3 will probably end up coming first, presuming that Sony manages to keep the franchises I like on that system.
