Redemption
BLACK MAIDEN LEGEND ? ?Five maidens govern over death. Men, they do not need, and are their sworn enemy since the dawn of civilisation. To find eternal peace, they must rid the world of corruption and evil in all forms.? This legend started in the times of ancient Rome. Five women were discovered with extraordinary talents in the black arts of death. The Black Maidens of the Vestal Virgins ? protectors of the weak, abused and suppressed. On the discovery of these Maidens, the Emperor of Rome hired them and posted them at various points in the northern parts of the Empire ? present day France, Spain, Italy, Hungary and Russia. The Black Maidens singularly helped the Roman Army defeat many powerful foes. With peace now spread over the land, the Maidens were rewarded with large lots of land to settle on in their respective regions. There lies the roots of the Black Maidens Legend ? 2000 years on. ? Isabelle closed the old tattered book gently, after making an inscription in it. It was time for the five Black Maidens to ally together once again. The last time their lethal skills were needed was in World War II. However, a much more threatening and destructive force now loomed over an unsuspecting world. There were already indications of what was to come in the dark future. Bombings in main populace areas in Europe and throughout Asia. A surge in weapons trading and knowledge in the black market. All were signs Isabelle and her predecessors as the Priestesses of Vesta, hoped wouldn?t appear during their reign. Bullets whizzed past Chloe?s ears. Backflipping over the rail, Chloe hid at the bottom of a staircase, panting hard and reloading her gun. She had just finished swapping over the cases when another shower of bullets just missed her head. ? God damn it!? Holding up her favoured gun, Chloe aimed. Two bullets fired, two targets down. Jumping down the stairs, Chloe tucked and rolled, waiting for any others to climb down to their death. Two came down the stairs. Aiming again, Chloe took both out with one shot. Then, deciding to be really mean, Chloe ran up the stairs, kicked two to the ground, grabbed one by the neck and killed him instantly. The other two stood up and found their firearms gone. With her remaining energy, Chloe grabbed their arms and flipped over the rail again, this time, hanging the two by their sleeves in a tangled fashion. ? Well done Mistress Chloe. Your training session is now complete.? An elderly voice said over the intercom. Chloe sighed, and walked out of the training room. Walking into the control room, an old man dressed in a black tailor suit stands with a silver tray in his hands. A bottle of water was the only thing that was on the tray. Chloe grabbed it, unscrewed the cap and drank deeply. ? You did well today Mistress?? the old man asked. ? Very well indeed Alfred. Not a single scratch.? ? Well done my lady.? Chloe walked out onto the balcony nearby, overlooking a vineyard below and a town not far away. She, Chloe Evangelia, was the sole descendent of a very old blood-line family, that dated back to the ancient Romans. Her family had originated from a woman in the Vestal Virgins ? a woman that had exceptional powers in the black arts, a craft that was handed down generation after generation. Chloe sighed, bored. She hadn?t had a job in quite some while and was beginning to get rusty at her skills. That is why she was so surprised when she did not fail in her training session. She watched lazily as the postman arrived and handed a letter to Alfred, the family servant. ? Mistress Chloe, a letter has arrived for you.? Chloe turned around, told the letter from Alfred, thanked him and walked to her room. Opening the door, Chloe sat down at her dresser. The room was decorated in a countryside French manner, so was where the mansion of Noir was situated. Chloe used one of her favoured daggers to slice open the envelope to reveal a folded piece of parchment. Folding it out, she noticed the wax seal on the slip side of the envelope. It had Latin markings circling a bowl of fire in the centre. This peaked Chloe?s interest. She then looked at the stamp. From Rome, or Italy at least. She finally turned her attention to the parchment. On the sheet were lines and lines of Latin with one picture at the bottom. Five Roman women in white togas attending a bowl of fire, their faces with black war markings upon them. ? Interesting?? She checked the envelope again to find normal paper still inside. Fishing it out, Chloe saw a fluid, black penline on the opposite side of the paper. She flipped it over and read: NOIR You are the sole descendant of a legendary woman. Time is short, and light banter is not needed. Noir, French death, fly to Rome, I ask of you, to join in the legend that your ancestor started long ago. Chloe lay the letter and the parchment on her dresser. Is this a job offer? Looking at the two pieces of paper again, her mind ticked over. Finally, she came to a decision. Picking up her mobile, she dialled her travel agent, preparing to go to Rome. OOC: Ok, Black Maidens. Basically follow my post. Other assassins, organise your character to go to Rome somehow. Which way is up to you.
Kitty
"Nice job. You almost got yourself killed!" yelled a tall man, who looked in his fifties. "It's a training mission. You said I couldn't be killed," retorted a snappy young boy. "Well, I didn't know you were so stupid in the field!" "QUIET!" The two turned to see a young woman, standing at the fence of a large house, glaring at them. "You morons. My master is sleeping. She is ill. I would appreciate it," she emphasized, ".. if you did not disturb her. And I was reading. And not to mention, I've grown tired of hearing your annoying voices constantly. Can't you shout at eachother in your yard?" "Well sorry," the boy groaned. "Listen lady," the man began, "I've been training this little pain in the ass for months, and he still hasn't learned anything. I would think you of all people would understand how frusterating that is. Or maybe your "master" would know the feeling even better." "I don't think so." "Oh. You don't think so, eh?" he snarled. "No. I don't. And this little "pain in the ass", and your oh-so frustrated self, can go fuck off!" she countered, almost screaming at them at this point. The boy did not know when to keep his mouth shut. For at this point, he opened his mouth and muttered, "Well, you can go fuck yourself, you stupid Mexican whore." The woman glared at him. Not moving, not blinking, not even breathing. The man looked back from the boy to the woman and back again several times over, wondering who would break first. And it was the boy who did. "What are you staring at, lady?" he barked in his little bratty attitude. She grabbed him round the neck and held him up in front of her; his feet were off the ground. The man, quite startled, stood oggling at his apprentice, who was choking and hacking and begging for air. "You, my bratty little neighbor, have pissed me off. Say good-bye." As he clawed at her hands, the man behind him finally came to his senses, crying, "Matthew!" "Ah. Your name's Matthew, eh? Well, Matt, care to see this overweight piece of shit.." She seemed to pause, but the boy's eyes glanced towards his mentor. The man was wriggling on the ground, blood pouring out of four holes, one in his face, stomach, and both legs. Then he saw the four knives laying on the ground near each wound. She dropped him, leaving him gasping for air for a few moments. As the oxygen made its way to his head, he turned and remembered his master's condition. "Sir! Sir!" Matt cried over and over again. But the man could not answer. He was too busy rolling around, screaming, and dying from blood loss. "Now, look at me, Matt." The boy spun around slowly, glaring at her with tear-filled eyes. "You've killed him." "He's not dead yet, boy. He's dying. So yes. I'm killing him." Matt grew angrier and angrier, and reached onto the slowing body of his master. "Take this, you bitch!" he screamed, pulling out a pistol and tightly gripping the trigger. There was silence. Then the woman spoke up. "You haven't pulled the trigger. Why?" "I want to know your name." "And why would I tell you that?" "Because you have no reason not to." "Ah. I see. Then, Matt, I will tell you my name. I am--" "Ack!" The boy coughed. Blood dripped down his chin. He looked down. There was a dagger, quite large at that, lodged in his chest. "Damn. I just missed the heart. Oh well. Since you're dying, I can tell you my name." She walked over, leaning down next to him as he fell to the ground. She put her mouth to his ear, and whispered, "My name is Angelina, Lady of the Blade." She pulled her head back, and sat on her knees until both the man and boy finally passed away. She took very little time placing their bodies in a hole that had been dug earlier. She knew she was going to kill someone today. It didn't really matter who. The bodies fit fine, and she hurridly dumped dirt ontop. She muttered a few words, and placed a small stone from her breast pocket on the very highest point of the mound. "Rest in peace, Matt and friend." She smiled her beautiful smile, then returned to the porch. She picked up her book and, just as she was about to begin where she had left off, she heard a bell sounding. "Coooomiiing," she sighed, placing her book down again and walking inside. The entryway was lavish in its decorations. The walls were covered in furs of creatures only found in Spain. The floor was of marble, and the ceiling had a painting of the flowing Spanish flag. Angelina smiled as she stared up at it, then continued on her way into the dining room. From there, she took the stairs up to the third floor, and turned left at the hallway. She walked past several rooms, one of which was her own, then finally reached the end of the hall. She knocked on the door. "Come in, come in," she heard the familiar voice usher her in. Inside, was a frail old woman, sitting up in her bed with her favorite attendant at her bedside. "Ah, Angelina, my dear. You have some mail. Ramon brought up the mail. Did you say hello to him on your way up?" "Yes, mistress," she smiled, rolling her eyes. "Well? Take it. I know it's important." "Eh? How do you know?" Angelina smirked, gently taking the letter from her master's outstretched hand and bowing a small bow as she walked back from the bedside. "Because I do. And did you try out your new title with today's targets?" "Yes. It was alright, but if you don't mind, mistress, I might not see fit to use it again." The old woman nodded her head, smiling all the time. "But mistress?" "Yes?" "Why... Why did you have me kill a boy?" The woman's smile did not leave her face. "Because, my dear. You need the practice with all types of enemies. Even the youngest of children can be used to kill you. Keep that in mind." "Yes, mistress. And one more thing, before I leave the room?" The woman nodded again. "How do you get people to keep coming by?" The two laughed for a bit, then the old woman sighed. "I am the current posseser of a great fortune. All of the townsfolk are greedy. I can get them to do great deeds for very little. Or, what I think is very little." Angelina smiled, then was granted permission to leave the room. She waved at Julia, the attendant beside her mistress, then exited and went down to the kitchen. The kitchen was filled with many chefs, and many stoves, and many ingredients, as if a feast was to be prepared. Angelina's mistress was very kind, indeed, and gave every servant under her roof a meal fit for royalty. So, you could say, there was a feast being prepared. Angelina was used to the many different wonderful smells in the kitchen. Though she avoided it when fish was to be served. The rank smell would not come off in one days wash. She found her friend Pinelope, and talked with her about the letter, though she had not opened it yet. "What is inside?" the young chef asked her. "I do not know. But the Mistress says it is important. Very important," Angelina replied. "How does she know? She did not read it. The envelope is still sealed tight." A little bit of grease flew out of the pan, and Angelina swiftly moved aside. "I do not know. Maybe she knows who sent this letter. And why." "Who sent it?" "I do not know." Later that evening, after dinner had been served and Angelina's stomach had been filled, she sat on her bed, her book at her side and her letter in hand. She finally grabbed one of the knives round her thigh, and carefully opened the envelope. She replaced the knife, and pulled out the letter. It was written on a small slip of paper, but the note was vibrant and typed in a large size. MATADOR You are the sole descendant of a legendary woman fit for this job. Time is short, and light banter is not needed. Noir, French death, fly to Rome, I ask of you, to join in the legend that your ancestor started long ago. "Looks like I'm taking a trip to Rome. Must inform the Mistress." -- EDIT: Finally fixed the name on the note. ^_~
RabidInuFanboy
London, England The Palace Grounds Hotel Tear filled eyes stared at the man, "B-but why? Why are you doing this?" The assassin smiled at the girl from behind the barrel of his silenced 9mm. "Because I am being paid very very handsomely to ensure that you are not a problem for my client anymore," he explained in a rich british accent. The man pulled the trigger and a silent bullet was propelled deep into the girl's heart. The victim fell back onto the hotel bed. Chris smiled as the fresh blood trickled from the wound in her chest. He then crossed the room to a set of glass door, stepping out onto the balcony. His brown trenchcoat flowed in the wind as he looked to the street below. He swiftly climbed down a fire escape connected to the balcony and ducked into a dark alleyway. It would be hours before the police found the dead girl's body, and by then he would be sitting in his apartment, already planning for his next job. --- The phone rang as Chris stepped into the apartment. He surveyed the room for any intruders before crossing to the phone. He picked it up and spoke into the reciever, "Yeah?" "I've got another job for you," a familiar voice said on the other end. "Switch? How did you know I was back from my other job? And how do you know that I even killed that girl?" Chris asked, toying with his only friend and ally. "How long have we known each other Psycho?" Switch inquired. "Three months, and not once have we met. And don't call me Psycho, I only use my code name for unsecure phone lines," He replied. "Whatever, I have a new job for you. It's a jealous husband in Rome, Italy. He wants you to kill his wife quietly, and he wants you to keep it clean. He's willing to pay two million US for the hit," Switch explained. "Do I have to pay airfare?" Chris asked. The doorbell rang. "Answer that, will you Chris?" his friend requested. Chris set the reciever down and walked to the door. And envelope was slid under. He picked it up and opened it. Inside was a one-way plane ticket to Rome, Italy from London International Airport. It was leaving in two hours. He crossed back to the phone and inquired, "Why a one-way ticket? Do you think that I'm not coming back?" The line was dead, Switch had hung up. He set the reciever back on the cradle and looked at the ticket again. Chris had to admit, this was getting interesting. He went to his closet and grabbed a suitcase he kept packed in case things got too hot in London. He looked around his apartment one last time and then walked out the door. Next stop, Rome. Skillgannon
?One hundred thousand pounds, a small token of good faith the rest you will get when the subject is dead? said the man who had introduced himself as Karkarroff. With an audible click the metal briefcase containing the money was closed. Paul surveyed the small room devoid of all furniture except the metal chair upon which he was sitting. The thrumming base carried from the club below but only barely. Cocking his head to the side Paul replied ?Who is he and where do I find him? The wide set balding man who introduced himself as Karkaroff fished a document from inside his tailored coat and handed it over. As Paul read the document his knuckles whitened, ?is this some kind of joke?? he growled ?No, Nicole Valuchi, the daughter of an important mafia leader, killing her will send a powerful message to Valuchi the elder..? ?Shes fucking twelve!!? ?Is that a problem?? ?Listen to me, it would be in the interest of your general health if u took your money and your job and left? Paul growled, as the three burly men who had entered with Karkaroff started moving. ?No u listen to me , you British pig, nobody! Threatens me in my club? Paul suddenly felt hands grabbing his arms and a blinding pain in his ribs through the black round neck he was wearing before he blacked out. Upon regaining consciousness Pauls eyes slowly focussed. He found himself with his hands handcuffed behind the chair. ?Well it looks like you are not as good as u think you are? Pauls eyes flickered to Karkaroff and the three guards present in the room each man held a silver stun baton. ?What are you going to do you whoreson?? His outburst was cut short by a punch in the stomach from Karkaroff followed by a hook to the face. ?That must hurt real bad ehh, ok lets try this? he said flicking his stun baton to its full length and fiddling with the power setting. ?Vladimier only got you with a low setting, I believe I will boil your internal organs with it turned on to max, what do say to that ehh? ?I?d say I did warn you? The captors roared with laughter, ?what makes u think you can do anything to me?? grunted Karkaroff pulling his face close to Pauls. ?Because I picked those cuffs? Exploding into action Paul drove his knee into Karkaroffs groin, and simultaneously snatched away the baton. In a fluid motion he delivered a hammerfist to the back of his neck and hurled to baton at the guard closest to the door catching him on the throat. Amid the sickening gurgle of the dying guard Paul closed the distance with a hand spring and landing low, swept a guard off his feet. Using the momentum of the sweep, he spun his foot in a tight ark smashing his heel into the fallen mans face. Then jack knifed himself back on his feet dodging a wild slash by the remaining assailant. Redirecting the mans attack Paul striped the weapon used it to strike him on the thigh and temple then used an aggressive front kick to send the man rocketing into the wall. He walked to the groaning form of Karkaroff as the guard slumped to the ground, kneeling on his back he yanked the man by the hair into a vicious neck crank and whispered in his ear. ?We?ll see if I am as good as I think. By the way, I?m Irish? with that he slammed the mans head into the floor and into unconsciousness. Paul rolled him over and emptied his pockets. Scooping up the metal briefcase, he walked to the door and knocked. The flat eye piece slid open and Paul thrust the stun baton through it. Upon hearing a reassuring thud he splintered the lock with a powerful sidekick and hastily departed the premises. Paul had always hated this end of Amsterdam. Paul looked out the widow at the rushing clouds below. There was defiantly some other assassin assigned to ice this girl by now. He didn?t know what he would do in Rome but he would not let her die like he had those village children in Bolivia. Try as he might he could not shake the image of her lying dead and bleeding on the dirt. Mentally berating himself he ordered another cocktail checked out the airhostess who was serving the first class cabin. Smiling to himself, Paul though that with a little work maybe this flight could turn out to be quite enjoyable.

Revelation
With her back faced towards the door, Adrianna looked outside of her office window which faced the riverside. It was beautiful at this time of day and the sun hit the water perfectly, overlooking behind the hills. Her hands were crossed in front of her and she was content, yet alert. A knock came from outside and Adrianna ordered them in. A maid walked in and was held hostage by a burly man. Adrianna saw the reflections and the man let the maid go. Adrianna had dropped one hand towards her waist and reached for several kunais. The man held a Beretta M1934 with a few customizations. A smirk came across Adrianna when she realized who had entered her office. She placed the kunais back in their place and chuckled. Slowly she turned and faced the man. "Buon pomeriggio... zio." "Mio nipote! Look at how you've grown! Your padre would be proud of you." "Mio padre would be. He would have loved to see how the Corinthos estate turned to be. But...that is not what you came here to discuss, zio Ricardo, is it?" She walked to a set of chairs and sat at the head and offered her uncle a seat. He sat down and cleared his throat. There was clearly something on his mind and Adrianna wanted to know whether it would hurt the business, her family, or herself. Her uncle sighed and began to explain to Adrianna. "There is some affari that needs to be handled. And that is where you come in, nipote." "What kind of affari is this?" "The kind where you take someone out and get back a special item that your father entrusted me with. If you're willing to talk about the price, I can pay you 50 grand. 25 for the hit and 25 for the grab, what do you say?" Adrianna folded her hands underneath her chin and thought for a moment. ["50,000 for one job. Hmm, perhaps the business could use the extra money. And it has been quite some time since I've gone out. Perhaps it'll give me a reason."] Sitting up properly, Adrianna nodded. "You've got yourself a hitman. In this case, a hitwoman." Smiling, Ricardo shook hands with Adrianna and left. Before he left, he gave Adrianna an address and places the person would go to. She checked them over and limited the list to only 3 places. These people were quite easy to target and even easier to find when looking through their previous hobbies. Within a short moment, Adrianna stood in front of a club that a friend of hers owned. She smirked as the gentleman walked towards her and offered to buy her a drink. She merely gave him a sultry smile and he bought her a glass of french martini. Adrianna lightly sipped on it and made friendly conversation with the man. It wasn't until sooner that he asked her to return with him to his hotel room. "You're very beautiful, I hope you know that." A fake smile appeared before Adrianna's face as she stepped into the man's dark room. He moved to turn on the light and Adrianna merely stood there, with a smirk on her face and her kunais in hand. The lights had turned on and when the man faced Adrianna, his face turned to a gasp of shock as the kunai on her arm dug deep into his abdomen. "Stare attento a il Oscuritê." With that Adrianna retracted her kunai dagger and watched the man fall, gasping for breath as he bled a deep red. She scoffed and walked away, but not before looking through his pockets. "A special item, in which the way Ricardo described it. Perfetto." Exiting out of the hotel doors, Adrianna saw her ride and entered the car. She was taken back to the house and there, Ricardo waited. She returned the item and received her 50 thousand for her job. Giving a warm smile and a hug, Adrianna saw Ricardo out, but before he left, he gave Adrianna the item. It was a silver ring with three obsidian stones and the engraving "Do not fear darkness" in greek. With a smile, Ricardo left and Adrianna was left looking at the ring. This was the only heirloom left to her that wasn't lost or stolen. She sighed and walked towards her office, but was stopped by one of the maids, who held a letter in her hand. Adrianna took it and walked to her office. She laid the letter on her desk and took out one of her kunais to open the envelope. Upon opening it, an interesting seal was shown. The wax seal had Latin markings circling a bowl of fire in the centre. Something told her that the letter came from latin descent, Rome or Italy, or even a mediterranean country. Adrianna ignored it for a moment and focused on the letter. The letter was decored with, once again, latin. As Adrianna looked through it, picking out important parts of the latin, she came upon a picture at the bottom of the letter. It had shown five Roman women in white togas near a bowl of fire, marked upon their faces were war markings in black. Wondering who would send a letter like this, Adrianna looked deeper into the envelope only to find another paper, only this time, it was a regular paper. It had a gel-like ink written upon the paper. It had read: CALIGA You are the sole descendant of a legendary woman. Time is short and light banter is not needed. Caliga, Italian darkness, fly to Rome. I ask of you to join in the legend that your ancestor started long ago. Putting the letter down, Adrianna folded her hands underneath her chin, as she did when she spoke to Ricardo. She thought for a moment about her business and her family. She sighed and realized, staying at home, staying with the business would only make her like her father. There was nothing wrong in being like her father, yet Adrianna wanted to be her own self, be an individual Corinthos, and not like the others. With a final decision, she phoned for her butler, Giovanni. He entered and bowed respectfully to Adrianna. A smile came over her and she stood, not knowing what to ask of him. "Giovanni... it seems that my affari takes me somewhere else. Somewhere else being Rome. I'd like you to arrange me a flight to Rome, if you could." "Yes, mistress." Giovanni turned to leave, when Adrianna stopped him. "Wait, Gio. I'd like to entrust you with mio affari at home, as well as this." She took out an old family heirloom that her grandmother had given her when she was 13. "This has brought me blessings and I wish it to bring you yours in my absence in Italy. Take care of yourself, mio famiglia, and everyone here." "Grazie. You have always been kind to me and I thank you for it. Do not worry, mistress. All will be well and you won't have anything to worry about. Go tend to your affari and let me deal with the chaos here. Have fun, little volpe. Remember that I am only a phone call away." Nodding, Adrianna's things were already readied as she spoke with Giovanni. She thanked him and said her good-byes to everyone as she went out to go to the family jet. It wasn't like her to leave Italy and go off on a business trip, but the letter explained something that not many would know of. It called out to her and the ring that sat upon her finger. It called out to her alter ego, Caliga and Caliga was the one to answer that call, even if it meant leaving behind many.
Redemption
Chloe stepped out of the airport, carrying a small suitcase with all of her 'essentials' in it. She looked around for the taxis when a burly man strode towards her in a black suit. Chloe's eyes narrowed suspiciously and her free hand retracted slightly into her sleeve, fingering one of her many hidden daggers. The man observed this but still confronted her. " Noir," he said in a low voice. Chloe nodded, getting the idea. Silently, the man walked towards a black limousine, Chloe followed. She refused to let him take her suitcase. " Old habits die hard," she said softly but dangerously. He nodded, understanding, otherwise she would of had to dispose of him. Calmly, Chloe climbed into the back seat of the limousine and the man climbed in the front with the driver. Soon, she was off to some unknown destination. Looking around, Chloe took note of the things around her and anything that would help her escape or aid her in some way. The windows were tinted darkly and she could see nothing going on outside. Unlocking her suitcase, Chloe pulled out her favoured firearm, just in case. After about 15 minutes, she felt the car slow and stop. The door opened. Chloe slid out, still clutching her suitcase. An ancient stone structure appeared before her - so ancient it would have dated back to the Romans. The man shut the door behind her and climbed into the limousine once again, and off they went. A cold tingling feeling crawled up Chloe's spine. With no one around, and her gun clutched in her right hand, Chloe slowly made her way up the crumbling stone steps to the structure. It's too quiet... Chloe thought, her assassin instincts kicking in. Too quiet... A bullet whizzed past Chloe's ear. She ducked and rolled to the nearest stone monument. Waiting for the perfect chance to attack, Chloe left her suitcase behind and ran to another monument. A shower of bullets rained upon her as she ran. This didn't bother her the slightest, it was normal. Looking from the side of the monument, she say a lone shooted hiding behind a stone wall. Perfect cover for an amateur. She heard the faint clicking of the shooter reloading his pistol. This was the moment. Chloe leapt from the cover of the monument and fired. The first bullet clipped the shooter's hands, disabling his. The second hit him in the head, killing him instantly. Chloe stood, not impressed. A soft clapping echoed from the entrance hall. Hearing this, Chloe gathered her suitcase and walked swiftly into the hall. A woman dressed in a toga, hooded in white, stood elegantly in the hall. Chloe assumed this was the one who applauded her skills. " Well done French lady of death..." " You are the one who summoned me?" Chloe asked coolly. " Yes," the woman replied. " Why? Why did you summon Noir?" " Everything will come to light when the other Black Maidens arrive..." OOC: Black Maidens, pass the test and meet me at the ancient stone structure, Other assassins, you can eavesdrop on the conversation, which would be handy, but you can either bump into one of our characters or follow them. Your choice.
RabidInuFanboy
Chris walked into the large reception area of the airport. Not expecting anyone to be waiting for him, he continued towards the exit of the airport. That's when it hit him, Switch never gave him any instructions as to who he was going to hit, he just said to be in Rome. "Damn it Switch, why must you torment me?" he asked to no one in particular. "I think it's a fun ilttle game, don't you Chris?" a voice called out from behind him. Spinning around quickly, Chris found himself face to face with the man. Well, actually, the assassin couldn't see Switch's face, on account of it being obsucred by a scarf. "Very funny, now tell me, why am I here?" Chris retorted. The man led him outside, taking his suitcase and putting it in the trunk of a black BMW. Chris opened the door of the passenger seat and shut it. Switch quickly climbed into the driver's seat and locked the doors. When Chris gave him a questioning look, he explained that it was a "bad habit, afraid someone might hijack my car." Chris nodded in agreement, but somehow felt uneasy about being locked in the car with this man. As the were driving through the busy streets of Rome, Switch began to speak "You are a wonderful assassin Chris, I admire your skills. And..." Switch trailed off, reaching into his coat. "...That's why I must kill you," he finished, quickly pulling out a 9mm. Chris of course, was two steps ahead of Switch. He reached into his coat with his right hand and ghrabbed the streeing wheel with his left, swerving the car up onto a busy sidewalk. Knocking Switch off balance, his grabbed the man's gun, yanking hard. The inexperienced man lost grip on it and soon chris had control of both Switch's weapon and his own silenced 9mm. He pointed his silenced pistol at the man and told him to grab the wheel. "I want you to drive to the outskirts of the city," Chris said calmly. Switch obliged and they drove for about 10 minutes, Chris holding Switch. hostage. During that time, Switch explained that a man was actually paying him to trail Chris and get some dirt on him. When the man felt he had enough dirt, he wanted Switch to kill Chris. "Well you failed to notice, that I'm one of the best Switch. It's hard to pull a fast one on me," Chris said. That's when Switch surprised him. The man swerved and ran off the road, spinning the car out of control and throwing Chris off balance. When the car stopped spinning, Switch jumped out of the car and began sprinting. "Oh no, you've done it now," Chris said as he unbuckled. The master assassin jumped out of the car and chased after the man. Chris was far more fit than Switch and caught him in a matter of seconds. Tackling the man, He beat his head into the ground, pointing his 9mm at Switch's forehead. "It's too bad Switch, I thought I had a real friend in you. I guess I was wrong. Goodbye," he said as he pulled the trigger and felt the man's body go limp under him. Chris stood up and brushed himself off, that's when he heard gunshots. Noticing the anciten stone structure not too far in the distance, the man began walking towards it. It wasn't everyday you hear gunshots in the middle of nowhere. 'Unless you're an assassin trying to get rid of someone,' Chris thought, chuckling to himself. Making his way quietly up the steps, the male assassin heard talking. Staying as quiet as possible, Chris hid in the shadows, listening to the two women talk. This was strange, why would two women, one clearly and assassin, be in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Rome. He figured that he could wait in the shadows a little longer and find out what's going on. OOC:Is this okay amgoddess? I'll edit it if you want me to. Delta
An unsigned package came by FedEx three days ago. Of course, only under rare and special circumstances did the company allow their clients the privilege of anonymity. Concealed inside layers of bubble wrap was an envelope sealed with red wax. жар-птица You are the sole descendant of a legendary woman. Time is short, and light banter is not needed. жар-птица, Russian firebird, fly to Rome, I ask of you, to join in the legend that your ancestor started long ago. And now, she was in Rome. Russian Interpol had already arranged her papers, especially her permission to carry the usual articles, and she walked through Customs in a breeze. Stashed inside her backpack, she found another unsigned package in her name containing a marked map and keys. Oddly enough, it was the key to her motorbike that she left at home. That same motorbike was parked outside. Where the map led to, there was an old stone structure in ancient Roman style, Corinthian posts and all. Yet it all seemed wrong. Small pockmarks on stone, glints of empty cartridges here and there, a couple of spots stained red; all were telltale signs of a recent? BOOM! She jumped just in time to avoid a column that collapsed. Explosions followed as she ran, each felling a column dangerously near her. Her hand slid inside her bag and pulled out what looked like a grenade. She threw it at the first of the columns where it exploded with a searing flash of light. The person holding the detonators was near the blast point, as she had expected. Temporarily robbed of his wits, the next stimulation he got was from two arms holding him in a lock. ?Pozdravlyayu, Sasha!? greeted a voice from the entrance hall. There stood two women; one of them was dressed in a toga that looked very much like the ones worn by the female figures engraved in the posts. Sasha let go of the man who then scurried away to another column. ?Privet!? she greeted back.
Inuyasha Fandom
Vahn had watched Chris fighting, he was impressed. Vahn decided to follow at a distance, even to Rome, a place he had visitied quite often. But enemies lurked, waiting for Vahn as he left the plane, tailing Chris. "young man, would you come with me please" Vahn's eyes take on a rather somber look. "I'll not go. Catch me, if you can." Vahn leaps to the pavement below the plane, raunning as fast as he can, a solitary lunch box carring all he needed. Popping ther damn thing open, Vahn smirked, and began to shoot, his aim always right on the mark. Vahn high tails the airport, feeling disappointed. "six men with seven bullets, sloppy work." Vahn considers his hand that he was useing. "then again, i am right handed."
Redemption
Chloe stood from her seat at the base of a white marble pillar. She had watched Sascha use her knowledge of explosives to overcome the test the woman in the toga had laid for her. Two minutes later, another two women arrived. One clearly from Spanish descent, the other from Italian. Pieces of the puzzle finally came together in Chloe?s head. She represented France, Sascha Russia, one from Italy and the other from Spain. Yes?it was all coming together. They must have received the same letter as she did, otherwise they wouldn?t be here. Four of the five legendary women had arrived. The woman in the toga with the hood covering her face looked at the four women. ? It has finally come to be that four of the five Black Maidens have arrived in this sacred place. The fifth, unfortunately, has refused her calling. Pity, all five are needed?? the woman trailed off. Chloe stepped forward. ? You called us here,? she said rather demandingly, ? I ask of you, why did you use our codenames, the ones our family are recognised for, to bring us here? And what are we doing here?? The woman looked up. ? Always France was the one that spoke out for the group. How things have never changed over the years.? But she said no more. This woman was really getting on Chloe?s nerves. Suddenly, the woman turned, beckoning the four Black Maidens to follow. Chloe did so with caution. The others followed beside her, also with caution in their eyes. Soon, they came to a wide shallow bowl with fire flickering in it. It stood at elbow-height ? the warmth of the flames radiated out. The woman in the toga turned to them and lowered her hood. What appeared was a chocolate-haired, hazel-eyed beauty in her twenties. She was of Italian descent too, Chloe could see by the shape of her face. ? This is the flame of Vesta ? a flame that has not extinguished since the days of ancient Rome. Your ancestors, the original Black Maidens, were attendants of this flame and of the goddess Vesta of the hearth. The Vestal Virgins, they were commonly known as. Here, at this very spot, was where the origins of the Black Maiden Legend started.? ? A man, closely related to the Emperor, crept into the sacred place of Vesta and came across your ancestors training their black arts to perfection. A war between the Gauls had severely rattled the Emperor, for they were coming over the Alps and into Italy. The man, who would have been executed for treading on such a sacred place without a woman present, told the Emperor what he saw. The Emperor decided that these Black Maidens were to go to each corner of the Empire and help the Roman Army defeat enemies. At first, the generals refused to use their abilities and lost many. Forced to use the Black Maidens? presence, the generals used them to assassinate the leaders of their foes, causing their army to go into total disarray.? ? Peace then reigned over the Empire. For their services to the Empire, the Black Maidens were given plots of land to settle on in the new areas and were not disturbed again until far into the future. The Black Maiden Legend was written down by one of the Roman historians close to the Emperor, so as the public would never know that women won many wars for him and the emperors to follow him. Two copies were made of the legend, one stayed in the Emperor?s Palace ? the other stayed here, in the temple of Vesta, to remind the Vestal Virgins of their sisters that were sent to war and never returned.? ? You are the descendants of four of these five very special women. The family?s skills were needed over the centuries ? to fight wars, take out enemies and stop complete and total destruction. The last time the Black Maidens were needed was in World War II. Since then, everything has been relatively peaceful. But now, a most serious threat has arisen and concerned the United Nations. They have consulted me in the Legend, wondering if such people still existed. I do not know how they knew about you, but the copy in the Emperor?s Palace was burned when the last Emperor died when the Empire collapsed. I have the only remaining copy. That is a mystery you will have to ask the UN yourselves.? Chloe smiled and crossed her arms. ? Very masterful,? she said softly. The woman in the toga turned to her. Chloe looked at her with her green eyes. ? In all of that, you masterfully neglected to tell where you fit into this great Legend.? The toga-wearing woman smiled knowingly. ? Quite right you are, Noir. I am the only remaining priestess of Vesta. Like your families have handed down their skills from one generation to another, the females in my family have followed that same path. So if one of us were to come to their end, another would be there to take their place ? in case the Maidens needed summoning. My name is Isabelle Verisca.? One of the unknown women stepped forward. ? You say you summoned us, for what purpose?? The one that spoke was from Italian descent. ? There have been signs ? signs that only my family can read as warnings of impending war. The UN have seen this too. As I told you before, the UN is hiring you ? I am but a simple summoner, and your guardian, of course.? The Black Maidens looked at one another. Isabelle smiled. ? You will stay here until further notice. I suggest that you should find yourselves a room in this temple that will suit your individual needs. There are training areas outside and in, if you wish to perfect your skills further.?
