First of all, if you're on a 52k modem, press stop NOW.

Thank you.

But indeed! =D We had to take a picture to represent a theme that meant a lot to us from certain books we'd been reading, and we were allowed to do more than one. Erm, I have another thread for this, but I ended up deleting a lot of pictures I posted in the thread from my DA account because I wasn't too fond of them. >.>

So ANYway... Sorry if they're still crap, here's the first few I'm turning in for the assignment. ^__^;

'Define Normal' - Collaboration with my best friend Celia. Model/Idea/Paint stuff by me, Lighting and photo by her.

'Disappear Completely' - Also collaboration with Celia. Model + Handwriting: Celia, Photo + Words: Me, and Idea by Us. =]

'Patriorrist' - Kudos to dad for being my model. I tried using myself and I just didn't suit it at all. I've really been wanting to do a political peice, so erm, here is.

'Home Sweet Home' - Eh. Sorry about the whole omglookatmeimsoangsty!11 ish ...trend thing, lol.

'You Rang?' - Fell under 'Obedience'.

'Flash Button Fun' - Betrayal.

'Celebrity Dreaming' - Future Mrs. Bloom #493801982398. I like the version without the text muchmuch better. I shall replace when I'm not feeling quite so lazy.

'Asphyxiation' - Taken at mom's house in Texas.

'Sky's the Limit' - Taken outside art gallery in Texas.

'I'm Here' - Same deal as above.

Other Recent Junk:

I remember taking Photo I - IV when I was in High School, now I take the advanced classes offered at the Ai institues!

But hey, those are really good. I remember having to do theme shoots as well. We did several of those, especially of the 2000 election. So I have to ask you a question, you ever done a photogram yet?

I want to post some of my pictures here too, but right now it's late. Tomorrow then. My assignments were so fun and innovative, I don't think I would love Photo as much if my teacher wasn't so creative!

We did other things too, like creating photoart using Adobe Illustrator, and entering the the Imation contest every year. I won several awards for photography from the NAHS, or National Honor Art Society. Familar with it? :D

Yep... I find it quite awesome that you use vertical lines to represent power. In both (like I've already told you a million and one times), the theme is being restricted. In the second photo behind the wall,it looks like you're being constricted by someone/something, and they don't even acknowledge your existence. And by 'same deal as above' I take it you mean in both definition and where you took the photo. hehe.

Hm... Define Normal, that was a great idea, but I think the face paint could've been done a little differently. Maybe one side of the face without paint, the other-side with it all over the place. But then again, that idea is cliche and overused. ::shurg::

Flash Button Fun. Whoa, it looks awesome, but I don't think it's really betrayal. Maybe the constricted/suffocating theme you seem to be running with for now. Maybe the phone represents actions that you should be carrying out, but they choke you to death. As in, you should answer the phone to talk to people, but ... arg... I dunno what. Train of thought has been derailed... gr....

And I <3 the shineyness of the guitar. Awesome.

SIGN UP! =O What are you waiting for? lol >.>; *glomp anywho*

Thank you so much for all the comments so far! No, sorry, I'm not familiar with the things you mentioned, Sol-Blade. The closest I got to some sort of honour for my photography was having a photo I took with a disposable camera + a poem I wrote added into the children's art museum in Galveston, TX a few years ago. ^_^;

And yes indeed, Altron, I'm not 100% fantastically happy with the face paint, either. It was all just improvised at that moment, and I was a bit disappointed with how it came out, but it's acrylic paint, and my skin wasn't too happy about it, lol. (Though it amazingly got rid of mini-spots, it BURNED like hell when I first applied it. >.>) So yesh. If it wasn't painful, I'd re-do it. ...Which I think I just might do. Erm, that is, with washable paint or some sort of actual face paint. ._.;

'Flash Button Fun', basically, deals with betrayal in my view because of all the silly gossip and rumours flying around school through the phone after school. And just recently, a friend of mine was 'discovered' when someone she thought was a close friend actually had another girl on the other line, who got to hear every bit of their 'one-on-one' conversation, and then she had a tough time with it. Just felt like expressing that, but I wouldn't want to say it's dedicated to her as I've 'hanged' myself with the telephone cord there, and ..................yeeeah.

But like I said, your interpretations are fantastic - and appreciated. :)

EEEE - and M.Ali, it's muchlymuchly appreciated to know people frequent my DA. Thank you!

Blah. The project goes on even after this week. So expect a few more coming this way...

Heh, well let me give you the basics of a Photogram. Because Photograms, are by far one of the most unique kinds of "photos" you can produce.

Can you tell what it is? It's not abstract, not at all. It's not an actual negative either. Yeah, okay catch your breath there. Yes, I said no negative. Not all photography needs to involve film. A photogram, is a photo you creating using only the light from your enlarger. You create a composite photo by using any sort of items. Glass, saran wrap, leaves, rocks, and so on. The shadow(s) are cast onto the paper, creating a picture. Sometimes, they alter the color of the light hitting the paper, like glass. So you'll get different results.

The one above, was actually just a paper I burnt.

\

This one, taken from an archive, may look like flowers. But it's not. It's really coffee dollies (Dolly's? I forget the proper spelling) placed on top of the paper.

So really, you could make photograms with your hands if you wished. This is for those kids who loved making the dog shadow on the wall. lol

Check this site out for more, click here. (Warning, they got some funky effects and sounds going on.)

Heh, whoa sorry there. I didn't mean' to hijack the thread. She said she wasn't familar with it, and I wanted to show her what it was. That's all. Not to many Photo classes go over photograms that's why. I was wondering if she has already, or if she ever will. :D
