With the griffin's incredible sense of sight, catching her distress call to Vick...Ajack was able to see Tiegre and Liz fall to the ground, now immovable...they were still under heavy fire from the enemy units.

[I]Apollo...when we get to Liz's position...cover your wings around Tiegre like a shield. I'm gonna get her out of there. [/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]As you wish Ajack...[/COLOR]

There were upon them in no time...the battle was intensfying...he had to get her out of there. They were completely shielded by Apollo's wings...surrounding all of Tiegre.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]How much time do you need Ajack?[/COLOR]

Jumping out of his cockpit...he ran under the shadows of Apollo's wings and faced Tiegre.

''We need to get her out of there Tiegre. She needs help...you know her vital signs are failing. I know you can heal her...but she's far too critical. We need to get her out of her now!.''

But Tiegre just stared at him...as if she was protecting her child.

Ajack took a deep sigh...still looking into Tiegre's eyes. He could feel what she was feeling.

Clinking his communication bracelt on his arm...he pressed the button to all transmissions with the pilots as well as to home base.

***Attention...this is Ajack. Elizabeth is down...I repeat...Elizabeth is down. Requesting an emergency evac. from the battlefield immidately. I say again...Elizabeth is down...requesting evac. to home base.

***Roger that Ajack...we're coming to your position now. Please destroy all remaining DinoMechs. before we can set down.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]What are you doing Ajack...she needs help now.[/COLOR]

[I]Tiegre wishes to be with Liz till the end...as I know Liz would want the same thing. And I will honor that request. Get ready Apollo...time to clear the area.[/I]

Within moments...Ajack was back inside Apollo and destroying Raptors left and right. The Syon base aircraft carrier had touched down as Ajack kept on fighting...alongside Vick, Dale, and Darrius.

***I want to go with her Ajack. I won't leave her alone.
***She's in good hands now. There is nothing more we can do for her now.

As the units on this flank began to diminish for the DinoMechs...they began their assault on the city walls once again. Ajack took a look back to make sure the carrier made it out of the area unharmed.

Keiji heard Ajack yell at him. He decided to screen out his rant, so that he could maintain his sync level, but it dropped to 103%. It was still above the sync barrier, but he was eager to surpass his personal best again. Ajack thought Keiji was killing blindly, letting his emotions prove a hinderance to his combat ability. He was dead wrong. If emotion was used in a battle without expertise and finesse, it would result in a less efficient fight for the emotional warrior. If emotions were channeled into something planned, with an introspective mind, it would do wonders.

Amatu kept transmitting data to his head, which Keiji examined at took into account at a monstrous rate. For once, an extremely fine tuned machine was only equal to a human. Part of the data was a notice that Liz was in critical condition, but that she was already being helped. He turned his attention back to the battle. He had more foes to slay.

"So, I guess this battle's harder than the last. No matter. I have confidence that if everyone can achieve at least 80% syncrenization, we'll obliterate them."

[i]Yes, and you may need to fight even harder than you already are. You have a team-mate down, and another flank to cover. MOVE![/i] Bellowed Amatu at Keiji. He didn't have time to chat. He had to destroy the enemies, whoever they were this time. Be they DinoMechs, or telekinetic aliens.

Keiji flew back into the enemy lines, crumpling oncoming mechs like paper. Micro-missiles flew, blowing countless foes into the air. He was consumed by the rhythm of combat, the churning, moshing dance of thes smoke and mire of death, flame, and struggle. He would not fall; that was certain.

He continued his steady increase in his kill count, which was escalating by the second with every missile fired, flick of the talon, or swoop of his beak. He felt like a god of war sagas, as he achieved 110% sync, this time pushing Amatu's processor speed, thruster output, and mechanical feed back to unheard of limits, which continued to rise due to his special ability. It was increasingly hard to break a limit, as it kept rising with Keiji's sync levels, so he kept smiting, crushing foes like a magnum to a watermelon. The center was nearly clear, their numbers diminshed, as he continued to cleave to the right and left of his newly blazed path of destruction.

[i]"Liz......"[/i] Tiegre tried channeling with Elizabeth, but she wasn't responding. Tiegre tried using her healing powers on her, but the missile had damaged her systems as well. Elizabeth was bleeding, and she wan't responding.

Tiegre saw Ajack and froze instantly. She had let Elizabeth down...

"She needs help Tiegre...." she heard him say. She couldn't lower her hatch... something was wrong with all systems. She tried sending a signal, but no signal went out. No one a part from Elizabeth could understand her, and now she was lost...

Elizabeth shook a little and looked up.

[i]"Elizabeth??"[/i] Tiegre said softly. Elizabeth tried to sit up, but she was crushed inside her seat.

[i]"Hold on... they're getting you help."[/i] she said. Liz flipped the transmissions switch on and got no signal.

"Tiegre... he was right..." she said softly. She noticed the fight outside as Ajack, Dale and Darrius fought to keep the Cylarges away... she was easy prey... something she had never imagined happening.

"It won't matter for much longer..." she said softly as she put her hand on the screen in front of her.

[i]"Save your strength. You'll be alright..."[/i] Tiegre said trying to sound positive.

"Is this... really how she died?" Elizabeth asked.

Tiegre was silent. [i]"Don't think about those things right now."[/i]

"He never talked about it... but I found out from one of the officers on the base. She was really smart, wasn't she." she said with a smile.

[i]"Save your strength...."[/i] Tiegre said.

"I am... I am Tiegre..." she said as she waited.

At the base

The intercom was booming with the urgent message for all pilots to get to the mech bay. Vick was fast asleep , the others were already in the mech bay and probably gone. Kraven was able to open a telepathic link to Vick.

[COLOR=Red] " WAKE UP VICK ! We have trouble all the pilots have taken off and your still asleep."[/COLOR] Snarled Kraven

" I'm geting up Kraven geez your voice is not so pleasant when I try to sleep."

[COLOR=Red] " Hurry up Vick."[/COLOR]

Vick got up and threw on some clothes and he ran from his room all the way to the mech bay.

" Let's get going Kraven." said Vick as he tried to wake up completely. Kraven opened up the cockpit and Vick got inside, Kraven sprinted at of the mech bay and made it to the last mech carrier.

Battlefield

The carrier droped off Kraven who was the last of the ground mechs, Vick yawned as he scaned the field.

" I don't see any one let's keep moving Kraven."

[COLOR=Red] " If you only would have woke up than sleep in. Maybe then we would have something to do."[/COLOR]

The distress call from Liz came in Vick would of have answered it but Vick and Kraven just came face to face with the new dino mechs.

" Oh look we jus steped into Jurassic Park. Since when do we fight dinos let's show these dino heads that we are number one." Vick said as he took hold of the controls.

[COLOR=Red] " Are you going to answer the call Vick ? "[/COLOR]

" I'm sure it's just everyone wanting to say hello." Vick said not knowing Liz life could be in jeopardy.

The gatling guns fired at the dino mechs that took on diffrent forms of various dinosaurs. The gatlings guns were working well enough to knock some dino mechs down. For the greatest effect Vick used the grenade launcher , the grenades shot up in the air and scattered hitting in diffrent spots.

" Take that you dumb dinosaurs!" Vick said as the dino mechs went down.

[COLOR=Red] " It's time for Berserker fury ! " [/COLOR]Kraven said to Vick as for the first time Vick and Kraven became one. Vick felt a tingling feeling run trough out his body , all of Vicks senses widen up and so did his pilot abilities. Kraven was now able to push his limit this was just enough of a advantage to battle the new dino mechs.

" What the hell did you do to me."

[COLOR=Red] " Shut up and just pilot we have a time limit to pull of this move. I'll go around slashing things up with are increased speed and strnegth ! " [/COLOR]

" Okay Kraven let's finish them off."

Krave ran through the lines of dino mechs and began to slash through the metal of the dino mechs as Kravens claws exposed wires and gears. Vick and Kraven continued to slash the dino mechs.

Sayne and Deviryn tore their way through the fleets of Terradactyels

[B]**Ajack**[/B] listen to me quickly. The Rex down here is powering up its energy blast right at SORA!...get her out of there quickly...your faster than her Pheonix is. Get her out of the area.

[B]***Transmission Cancelled****[/B]

Sayne scanned his monitors and saw the T.Rex getting ready to shoot down Sora

[COLOR=DarkGreen]We'll have to link if we're going to make it[/COLOR] Spoke Deviryn

Sayne remembered what had happened last time they linked. He cleared his mind and smiled

'Lets do it,' spoke Sayne as he pushed the link button

There was a power serge that trailed through both of them. Saynes eyes darkened as he gripped the thruster levers. Their minds linked as one.

'Deviryn....,' spoke Sayne

[COLOR=DarkGreen]I know...full throttle[/COLOR]. Deviryn cut in

Sayne thrusted the levers forward pushing Deviryns thruster drive well over the limit

'Come on Deviryn...open up!,' growled Sayne as he then gripped another set of levers and also pushed them forward.

Deviryn let out a thunderous roar as they took off towards Blaze and Sora

[B]**Sayne**[/B] Sora!...look out!!

[B]**Sora**[/B] Oh my god!....Sayne!!

Sayne watched the screen as the T.Rex fired at Sora, Deviryn without being told flew even faster. Red lights flashed around in the cockpit....

Deviryn and Sayne yelled in unison as they flew over the top of Blaze. Deviryn quickly lifted Blaze out of the way just in time as the blast flew passed...but the T.Rex hadn't finished the blaster beam began to follow them

[B]**Sayne***[/B] Get him off my back!

[B]**Ajack***[/B] Will do!

Sayne watched on his screen and saw Ajack take out the T.Rex. Deviryn then released Blaze

[B]**Sayne**[/B] Are you ok?

[B]**Sora**[/B] Yes..Thank you

Sayne smiled

[B]***Transmission Cancelled***[/B]

Sayne then saw Vick and Kraven appear out of the blue and tear up a whole line of T.Rex's, Everyone was fighting at their best.

Sayne saw another wave of Terradactyels appear.

[B]***Incoming Transmission: Ajack***[/B]

[B]**Ajack**[/B] Liz is down and out.

[B]***Transmission Cancelled***[/B]

Sayne frowned as he flew towards the wave and tore straight through them, suddenly Sabertooths entered the war zone. A huge volley of lazer shots were fired at Deviryn. Sayne retaliated with the buster cannons aswell as taking out the Terradactyels. Suddenly Deviryn's wing was shot as a Terradactyel latched on to his back and then another and another, they began plummeting towards earth at a great speed, Sayne gripped the controls and pulled back on them, Deviryn slowly turned upward but wasn't quick enough, they skimmed across the ground and stopped after rolling a couple of times

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Sayne....Sayne....[/COLOR] whispered Deviryn

'I'm ok...lets open all buster cannons and machine busters,' growled Sayne, his arm had a deep gash on it and blood trailed down his arm as Deviryn rolled over and stood up

All cannona and machine cannons appeared, Sayne lined it up as Deviryn gripped the ground...suddenly......

'FIRE!!!,' yelled Sayne as he released all cannons. Terradactyels shattered and fell to the ground in pieces, without stopping they turned on the Sabertooth mechs and blew them apart.

The enemy mechs were slowly depleting, Explosions sounded all around them and screams were heard.

When Sayne and Deviryn stopped shooting all that was left around them was bits of metal, fire and smoke.

[B]**BEEP**BEEP**[/B] the cockpit alarm sounded

Sayne looked down at his monitor and saw something appear on his Raidar

'What is it?' questioned Sayne

Deviryn growled [COLOR=DarkGreen]I don't know....but for some reason..it feels familiar.[/COLOR]

The unidentified objected had stopped about 100 thousand meters away from Deviryn. When the smoke cleared...there it stood

'....It's.....a mechanima....a horse?' questioned Sayne as he frowned. Suddenly the mech spreed its wings

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Its the pegasus mechanima.....but.....how could it be activated....dr Kane hadn't finished with it.[/COLOR] Explained Deviryn

[B]**Sayne**[/B] who are you?

Suddenly Solar blasts shot out from the wings of the Pegasus, Deviryn tried to move but another Solar blast sent them skimming across the ground like a rag doll

Sayne had a deep gash along the top of his left brow...blood streamed down his face.

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Sayne...our power levels are dangerously low..[/COLOR] whispered Deviryn

Sayne's head spun violently as he scanned the screens, the pegasus was beginning to power up again...but this time..for something even bigger

[B]**......***[/B] [COLOR=DarkRed]Down for the count are we Sayne...don't it sux when your energy is low and you can't do anything about it....oh well you can be the last to die..say good bye to your love...and your friends[/COLOR]

The hooded figure laughed as he left the channel opened, Sayne watched the screen and saw that he had lined up Sora, Keiji and Ajack

[B]**Sayne**[/B] NOOOO!!!!..You bastard!!!!!

Suddenly Deviryn rose from the ground...his body battered and torn

[B]**.....***[/B] [COLOR=DarkRed]what the??.......so I underestimated you....what could you possibly do at this moment.......[/COLOR]

The figure suddenly opened fire on the three who still fought in the sky

[B]***Sayne***[/B] Get out of the way!!!

Sora, Keiji and Ajack quickly dodged the blast, the blast suddenly hit two enemy carriers and tore through them like a hot knife through butter...they exploded

Saynes eyes glowing red...his anger hit high...and Deviryn felt an immense power serge through his body. At that moment his wings folded into round cylinders and latched to his sides, more buster guns and machine cannons extended out from the neck and down his body.

'Deviryn......' whispered Sayne

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Always...[/COLOR] Deviryn cut in

[B]**.......***[/B] [COLOR=DarkRed]you bastard!....then you'll die first!...feel my wrath!...WINGS OF PREY!!!! [/COLOR]

[B]**Sayne***[/B] DRAGONS CRY!!!

[B]**Sora**[/B] SAYNE!!....NOOOOOO!!!!

Soras scream echoed throughout the cockpit as Sayne activated Deviryns Dragon Cry. All transmissions were cut off.

Deviryns head flung back and then forward as a huge lazer blast shot out of his mouth and in unison with that the two huge side buster guns and all other guns opened up, The blast broke the sound and speed barrier and shook the ground around them

The Pegasus then fired upon Deviryn, both blasts colided......an explosion rang across the plain and throughout the sky like a nuclear bomb. Deviryns Dragon cry tore through first and ripped apart the Pegasus throwing it back a few hundred feet but also...it tore apart Deviryn...The cock pit filled with smoke surrounding Sayne, control panels bursted and sparked...then...exploded.

A daunting silence struck the battle field, as it was engulfed in smoke.....the Pegasus lay torn apart about a mile from Deviryn..who's body was just about split in half...sparks and smoke was seen from all directions....parts hung off losely or meters away from them and a huge hole appeared when the smoke cleared.

[COLOR=DarkGreen]S...Sa..yne.....[/COLOR] Deviryn whispered as his body jerked with every spark

'De..viryn....,' whispered Sayne, he wearily looked around and found a huge piece of metal had driven deep into his right should, deep gashes with blood rushing out of them stained the cockpit, 'You...did well.....Deviryn..' Sayne whispered as he blacked out

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Thank....you[/COLOR]. whispered Deviyrn as he shut down.

The enemy began to retreat but still the pilots took them out, a huge carrier quickly grabbed the destroyed Pegasus and quickly flew off.

Lyu held to the controls of Desh tightly as a Raptor came at them.
"Desh, evade and rile back, take his left leg out and bring him down."
Desh followed her orders perfectly.
"Lets Link..."
**Direct Link, Desh and Lyu**
Lyu gritted her teeth as the force of it hit her for the first time.
"Desh, is it supposed to hurt this much?"
[I]Lyu, hold on, it's almost over...[/I]
Lyu screamed and fell forward in her cockpit, her eyes now a unnatrual yellow.
"Desh, activate Smoke Screen."
Smoke filled the battle ground and coverd the allies.
"Find Apollo."
Desh located Apollo quickly.
[I]Lyu, you have a T and 3 Raptors coming behind you.[/I]
"I understand."
She spun the MEch around and faced the enimies head on, weaving the Fox in and out. Taking down the Raptors first she now stood facing the T as the smoke began to clear, Apollo next to her. A place On Desh's back was begining to spark and his right leg seemed to have taken damage.
"Desh, go through his legs and catch his tail, we're gonna bring him down."
Desh growled deeply and followed orders but was caught off when the large Mech knocked Desh over and planted the large foot of the Rex on Desh's side and began to push downward crushing the Mech and piolit.
"Desh! Get up! You have to get up! DESH!"
[I]Lyu, I can't! He has me pinned, can you get out?![/I]
"No! And I'm not leaving you here alone Desh! Call for back up...Call Apollo."
**Outgoing transmission**
*Lyu: AJACK! I need some help Here! This Rex has me and Desh pinned**
A large spark went off in the cockpit making her scream as it burnt her arm. A piece of the interior fell from the top of the cockpit as the Rex stamped down on Desh hitting her in the head, blood seeped from under her bangs. She slumped down in her seat as she lost consiousness.
[I]Lyu? Lyu?! Lyu!.....LYU![/I]

[I]Oh My God....Apollo!...we gotta get to Lyu...NOW![/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Understood Ajack...Incoming fire from the rear.[/COLOR]

He didn't care...Ajack was hell bent on getting to Lyu as soon as possible. Dodging lasers and missles from all directions, Ajack didn't bother going after any of the DinoMechs; just destroying those in his way. It was a matter of 5 minutes before Ajack got to Desh and Lyu.

[I]Apollo...do the same thing you did last time with Elizabeth, protect us with your wings.[/I]

Apollo did so...and again, Ajack jumped out of his cockpit and ran towards Desh. Desh immidiately knew who it was and lifted its head from the ground.

[I]Desh...please...can you hear me? Can you understand me? We gotta get Lyu out of there...please...open your cockpit...please[/I]

No respose...

Desh obviously was just as protective of Lyu as Tiegre was for Liz. But Desh could sense the feelings that he had for Lyu...and they were the purest of intentions. Letting down her pride...Desh opened her cockpit for Ajack.

[I]Thank you...I promise nothing will happen to her; and I will return her to your side. I'll take care of you as well with your repairs.[/I]

Desh had massive internal damages; the mechs. entire mid-section was crushed...was amazing that even she survived. As Ajack jumped inside to get Lyu...he was destraught, on the verge of tears. She was unconcious...blood running down her face.

''LYU!''

Ajack unbuckled her as fast as he could...he was flipping out.

[I]Not again...Not again...Not again...[/I]

When he finally got her out of Desh...he lifted her into his arms and carried her back to Apollo. When he got Lyu as well as himself buckled into the seat...Ajack too a moment...he held her hand with his ring on it and leaned towards her ear in a whisper.

''lyu...I love you with all that I am...please...don't give up...don't let go...I wont leave you.''

He kissed her on the cheek as he whipped the blood away from her face. He let go of her hand...and grabbed the controls as the helmet came down over his face.

[I]Open a transmission to all the pilots Apollo.[/I]

***Everyone...please...get out of the area. I repeat...everyone...please...get out of the area. We've lost too many pilots today in this...Deviryn and Sayne are down, Liz and Lyu are serverly injured. Please...get out of the there.

***Sora: Why...what are you doing?

***Ajack: Don't worry about me...get Sayne. That blast with that other Mech. has disabled him. Now you'll be saving his life *as Ajack let out a smile...tears in his eyes*

***Sora: Understood...EVERYONE, MOVE OUT!

***Transmission ended***

As the other pilots began their return to base...Ajack lifted Desh into his arms and flew to a mountside connecting with the side of the city...so that it wouldn't get in the way of the attack. Placing Desh gently down on the rock...Apollo looked out at all the remaining DinoMechs...now heading towards the city.

[I]You know what must be done Apollo...[/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]I do...it will destroy the remaining fleets easily.[/COLOR]

[I]Can you be repaired my friend?[/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Of course...the damage is minimal...my wings can be replaced. [/COLOR]

[I]Excellent...now...target all remaining enemy units. [/I]

Before Ajacks eyes...hundreds of targets flew across his screen as the remaining units were being targeted. Outside...Apollo's wings were expanding...growing bigger; exposing all of this 4 massive wings; they looked like they overcasted the entire mountain.

Ajack closed his eyes...and felt Lyu lying in his arms.

''Please...not again...''

With a deep breath yet again...Ajack flipped the switch on both of his hand controls and pushed the fire button...

''WELCOME TO OBLIVION!''

It looked like Apollo's wings blew up as hundreds of missles headed directly towards their targets. They were very powerful...completely destroying all the units on the field; carriers, raptors, T's, everything.

The explosions completely whipped out everything. Leaving only what looked like a junk yard all over the desert surface outside the city.

[I]Lets go home Apollo...[/I]

Without his wings...Apollo lifted Desh onto his shoulders and leaped up and descended his way down the mountain as quickly as he could. Activating his speed boasters...he headed back towards Syon.

[I]Apollo...can you go on autopilot for a while?[/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Certainly[/COLOR]

Letting go of the controls....Ajack held Lyu's hand once more...embracing her in his arms as he cried...

OCC: I hope it was ok I ended the battle...looked like it was coming to a close anyway. If you wanna post to catch up...thats cool.

[Retribution]

"Damn. This is nuts. I suppose I should be happy for Ajack, finally becoming Apollo's pilot, and ending the battle. But all he did was clean up what I had finished!"

[i]Will you quit it! Stop trying to be the glory hog! I know you're usually not like this, and I know you fought very well this battle. Overall, you had the highest kill count. But you have more urgent matters to attend to.[/i]

He was right, once again. Keiji felt rather ashamed of himself, and looked at his sensors. They showed Sayne's MechAnima lying with all its systems shut down with sustained critical damage. He flew over, knew he couldn't open a COM transmission to his shut down mech, and picked him up. Looking over at Apollo, he saw Ajack's MechAnima lying crippled by in fair condition. It was a day of much pain and bloodshed.

He clutched Sayne's mech gently with talons that usually gutted titanium alloy, and flew at a rather gentle speed so as not to further damage his MechAnima. He reached the hangar, and dropped his load lightly onto the floor, where a huge team ran to make urgent repairs. A team of medics also ran out into the hangar, seeing about Keiji, as well as the small number of MechAnimas making it back to the hangar.

Keiji was rather unharmed, and stayed in Amatu, watching teams go to and fro, fixing, repairing, assessing damage. They did some body work on Amatu, as well. A few bullets managed to become lodged in the wings, a few had penetrated it. But hadn't been enough to prove a hinderance to Amatu.

"Damn. Look at it all. I can't believe everyone's so hurt! I want them to be better!" He slammed on the wall as hard as he could with his left fist, yelling to Amatu. He was silent for a while, then answered him.

[i]As do I. But the team needs training. Sayne should've been able to take out that Pegasus MechAnima, had he gotten enough training. You all can't expect to operate these things like pros... you've only had us for a few days![/i]

"You're right. I trained with you though. Why didn't everyone else try the same?"

[i]Because they found other pursuits, such as romance and socializing more fun. But it ended up that they should've sacrificed these ... luxuries for more time to save themselves bodily harm.[/i]

Keiji trailed off, remembering Sora had turned him down. He shook off the wave of sadness temporarily, comforting himself with the old saying 'there are plenty of fish in the sea.'

His thoughts turned once again to the battlefield, and he remembered several of the pilots where still out there returning from the mission. He waiting in his MechAnima, conversing with Amatu, for a debriefing of some sort from a military officer.

Jason was in his office looking over the papers they had given him. He was already stressed out with his daughter... he still felt that he was right in what he was asking... and no punk kid was going to tell him differently either.

Just then, a soldier came into his office. "Admiral..."

"What is it Private, I'm very busy."

"Sir... there's been an accident..."

Jason looked up from his papers and his hands began to shake.

"You're daughter's mech has been shot down... a rescue team is trying to pick her up, but the enemy fighters are bearing down on them."

Jason jumped up from his seat and ran to the the Commanders office.

"My daughter... where are the rescue units??" he asked looking at him urgently.

"Two of the three we've sent out we're destroyed."

"And what of the third???"

"It's getting it's way there... Admiral, we're losing a lot of pilots right now..."

"Damn it, Darcon, I want my girl back NOW!"

"Adrmiral," Darcon said as he stood up and looked him in the eyes. "Don't make the mistake of thinking you're the only one who's losing a child out there..."

"I want her back... surely you understand that..." he said half angrily half pleadingly.

"Yes... I do... and you need to understand that we are doing all we can."

"How many fighters are out there?"

"We have 4 I believe still out there... Ajack may be staying here..."

"Where's my daughters Mech? I want to see the view screen." Jason said.

Darcon looked at him and shook his head. He knew Jason would not be happy with what he was going to see.

Jason looked on in horror as he saw his daughter's machine sprawled out over the ground with damage all over the exterior. He touched the screen trying to reach out to her. He looked at the commander and composed himself.

"What's the damage..."

"Extensive to the exterior, and vital signs are failing...." he said. The admiral did not turn his gaze from the screen in front of him.

"Can one of the other Mechs get her out of there?"

"For some reason, the Mech's hatch is not opening. We are afraid that if we force the hatch to open, more damage could be done to the child."

"Is there NOTHING more you can do??" he said frustrated looking at him.

"Not at the moment..." he said staring at the Admiral. The Admiral turned away from the screen and looked down at the desk as he put his hands down on them and leaned over it. He looked back at the screen and then left the room.

Sayne awoke in a white room. His vision was blurred and his head throbbed. He slowly sat up and realised that he was connected to machines. He grabbed the cords and ripped them from his arm and chest and slowly slid off the table. At that moment Dr Kane ran in

'Sayne, what are you doing?' he questioned

'Getting up, I have to check on Deviryn,' replied Sayne as he stood up

'You can't go now, we have to do more tests,'

'Shove your tests up your god damn arse will you!,' snapped Sayne

'Sayne you know for a fact that you have to have the serum,' objected Dr Kane

'I'm fine...now get out of my way,' Sayne growled, Dr Kane put his head down and stepped aside as Sayne stuggered out. After walking abit his body returned to normal apart from the pain in his chest where the metal had enlodged itself.

He entered the holding bay and saw Deviryn, they were still repairing him.

'Deviryn..' he whispered, at that moment Deviryns eyes glowed weakly. Sayne made his way over to him. The repair men stood silently as Sayne walked towards them. Sayne gently stroked the Dragons nose

The mech carrier sped through the air with Darrius and bailey in its hull. From the looks of the feeds from the air mechs sensors that party had started without them.
Darrius engaged the combat systems as his mp3 player thumped heavy base into his system.
The nanobots flowed rapidly down his body creating the G suit that protected his physical body from the rigors of mech combat.
The carriers feed showed the battalion of alien mechs advancing on the horizon. Image enhancers revealed that these were dinosaurs, huge lumbering T-rex?s were scattered among the sea of smaller raptors. While lightning fast pterodactyls engaged the four active Arial mechs.
Suddenly the huge blast doors to the back of Darrius?s carrier resounded with laser fire.
Scanners showed a lone pterodactyl on his tail.
Darrius instinctively opened up the floodgates of memories and emotions as he and bailey linked.
Overriding the carriers controls, Bailey maximized reverse thrusters, getting them too close for missile lock, spitting out the bases coordinates into the auto pilot Bailey fired at the doors hinges and sprang out into the grey nakedness of the stratosphere with all boosters flaring. Distilled instinctive intuition kept the cheetah mech from the deadly laser bursts of the surprised dinomech. Bailey fired a single burst from his gut gun, lancing the pilot through the cockpit window on the mechanical beasts head. And laded on all fours on the back of the winged terror.
Bailey swung a tight aboutturn and dug his claws into the top of the hull, using his boosters to maintain the course he wanted. He used the alien mechs own fire power to strafe into the advancing ranks of land based Dino?s. The confused dinomechs finally opened fire on the approaching pterodactyl.
?Time to put that paintjob in a bottle to good use, big cat!?
Bailey unleashed a feral cry and shimmered as the billions of nanobots seamlessly refracted light to render the cheetah practically invisible.
Bailey maximized thrusters and launched himself of the speeding pterodactyl as he cleared the huge Arial beast he prompted the demon blades into activation and tucked into a rapid spinning roll. The powerful purple laser beams from his side shredded the pterodactyl into scrap metal in mid air and desecrated the ground mech ranks.
Bailey surged earthward in an uncontrolled dive, aiming for a hulking t-Rex. He landed hard on the back of the rex and skidded across its spine, digging its lethal claws into the screeching metal of the machine of destruction, he slid down its tail. Using all the momentum he could bailey sunk his teeth into the huge tail and swung it , sending the large mech tumbling to the ground. Then bailey swung into the fray, severing the Rex?s head from its sizable shoulders with the demon blade, he charged into middle of the enemy ranks, cleaving a wide path through the battlefield.

Even though the enemy mechs could not detect his mech, they directed heavy fire around the dinomechs that were being mysteriously gutted. Bailey dodged and weaved through the torrents of laser bursts. But stray bursts were grazing the hull, destroying the stealth shield and causing the cloaking capability to flicker and finally disappear.

The raptors were finally able to latch on to Darrius?s mech. Swamping it under their robotic mass and tearing into the hull with razor sharp teeth.
Darrius screamed as he felt the pain, lacerations manifested themselves onto his body through the link.

Using a micro version of his spark attack, bailey flash fried the raptors on his hull. Flickering tendrils of blue electricity coursed throughout baileys hull, electrocuting anything it came into contact with.

Darrius felt a wave of emotion that threatened to break the link with bailey when he saw liz?s mech go down.

He and Dale rushed in to provide cover fire with Ajack and Vick as she was evacuated from the field of battle.

It was as if a demon had been unleashed; Darrius was gripped by a berserker fury. And he initiated a much deeper link.

Bailey and Darrius linked to a depth that they had never though possible. Bailey channelled all the anger and hate Darrius could summon into unrestrained savagery, exploding into the enemy and tearing them apart until he couldn?t find another he could destroy.


The duo slowly slipped back to personal awareness. Darrius was shaking uncontrollably as the consequences of the link took their toll.
Bailey sustained damage, his outer hull was scorched and battered and his left shoulder had been lacerated by a T-Rex, it was sparking and hindering full movement.

Darrius woke in the hospital wing , he tried to move but a pain shot up his arm, bringing forth a few choice oaths. His groggy mind registered the shattered bones in his left forearm and the painful surgery that had implanted metal grafts. So they would heal faster. The base would need its pilots in proper working order as soon as possible and sway did the discomfort of a field lieutenants son hold in the workings of the base.
Darrius slumped back into the hospital bed, oh well hospital food couldn?t be that bad.

Lying on his arms while sitting in a chair beside Lyu's bed in the ER. He hadn't left her side since getting back to the base shortly after everyone else had; nor had he let go of Lyu's hand.

He had already made sure that Desh and Apollo were being cared for and repaired. The good doctor told him that Desh's wounds weren't fatal...that she was going to make a full recovery. But Liz and Lyu were uncertainties; Liz was still in critical condition...while Lyu lay here unconcious. Darrius and Sayne were in the emergency room as well...Sayne being the guy that he was; walked out head strong despite his injuries, but didn't see Ajack lying next to Lyu though through the curtains. Darrius was somewhere as well recovering from his wound on his arm.

He knew she couldn't hear him...but he had to try. It felt like his heart was dying along with her in this state...

Caring so much for others...it weakens the heart to an extreme that only they can explain in their minds. To give yourself fully to another...''I would not only die for you...but I would live for you'' mentality. Out there on the battlefield...he saved countless lives. Not only his fellow pilots...but the citizens of that city. He fought with all his heart, mind and soul...and yet...he didn't feel satisfied nor proud.

He was lossing the most important thing to him right now. The one thing his heart desired for himself...was at risk to be lost again.

''I can't do it again Lyu...do you hear me...I can't loss you. I don't know what I'll...''

Ajack felt sick to his stomach...he brought Lyu's hand closer to him and kissed her on top of her hand...wrapping it around with his other arm.

''Please don't leave me...''

His eyeslids were crusting over from his tears...all he could do now was to wait. Here and there...Ajack thought back to the Pegasus that attacked them...but quickly he eluded it in his mind.

He looked back up at Lyu...oxygen tubes running through her nostrils...an IV running through her left arm. Her head was bandaged up as well as a bruised eye. The sight just brought Ajack to tears again...he couldn't stand to see his love lying here.

The enemy started to retreat. Sora was hurting, both emotionally and physically. A few burns and cuts was all she received in the battle, but what had happened to Sayne hurt her the most.

" I couldn't even save him Blaze..."

[COLOR=DarkRed]Don't beat yourself up about it. It was a hard battle. And you had to save yourself before you could save him[/COLOR] Blaze said reassuringly.

Sora looked down at the ground and suddenly saw Tiegre and Liz. Tiegre was in very bad shape.

" Blaze..."

[COLOR=DarkRed]Already with you.[/COLOR]

They landed swiftly and Sora jumped out of the cockpit. Making her way over to Liz, she hastily checked her pulse. She sighed, relieved that Liz did have a pulse, although it was weak.

" Come on Liz...don't fail me now girl...."

Sora picked up Liz and carried her into Blaze.

" The base, and pronto Blaze. Pick up Tiegre. We need to take her to the base too."

Blaze grasped his golden talons around Tiegre and slowly took off, heading towards the base.

Sora had taken Liz to the ER for some emergency treatment. The nurses had told her to wait outside but Sora was too anxious about Liz.

" Please don't let her go....I need her...." Sora whispered to herself. " Please let Sayne be ok."

It looked like it was going to take some time for Liz to recover.

" Please inform me as soon as she walks up!" Sora said firmly to one of the nurses that exited the room Liz was in.

" Of course."

Sora nodded her thanks and walked from the room, eager to find Sayne.

Elizabeth woke up to her father at her side. She turned slightly trying to get up... she was never comfortable with hospitals...

"Lay down Liz... you're in critical condition."

"How long... have I been sleeping?"

"4 hours... not long enough." he said not looking at her.

She laid back down and sighed. "Daddy... are you mad at me?"

Jason looked at his daughter and tears were in his eyes. "I almost lost you..." he whispered.

She looked at her father and saw his tears. She couldn't stand to see his tears... it made her sad just seeing her strong father break down...

"Daddy.... I'm alright..."

"Now do you see why I didn't want you out there?"

"Daddy.... a soldier never leaves his duty when the situation get's hard..."

"YOU'RE NOT A SOLDIER GOD DAMMIT!!" he screamed. Elizabeth jumped and her heart raced at his cry. Nurses came in and saw the Jason in hysterics.

"You're NOT A SOLDIER!!! You're a CHILD!!! You shouldn't be in the battlefield... you shouldn't!" he kept saying. Her heart was racing as the tears fell.

"Daddy... please..."

"You're mother wasn't a soldier!!!! And they felt it necessary to have her test out her own prototypes!!!! She died inside a mech.... she died.... just being in the vicinity of warfare!!!! You are NOT going back!!!!!!" he screamed at her.

Elizabeth cried as her eyes rolled back. Her heart beat faster as she was losing consciousness.

"Somebody get him out of here!" shouted a nurse. She switched on the emergency light and shoved him out of the room as more medical personell ran inside.

"She's NOT GOING BACK!!!! I WON'T HAVE THEM TAKE HER FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!" he screamed after them. He pounded the doors in anger and emotion, and it took 4 officers just to bring him back to his quarters.

The nurses tried all they could to bring her back... but they were losing her... and fast.

Lyu graoned loudly and squezzed whatever was in her hand.
"Oh...my head...I feel like i"ve beem hit with a mac truck....what happen? Where am I?"
She opened her eyes and saw she was in the ER, an IV running into her arm.
"OH! Desh! Is he okay? What happen to him How bad is he?"
She sat up and felt her stomach churn as nousious washed over her.
"Bad Idea..."
He yells had woken Ajack who stood and smiled at her.
"Hey...I'm alive and tired...what happen?"

Still holding Lyu's hand with his right hand...Ajack glided the back of his left hand across Lyu's cheek as she lay back down.

''Don't worry...I've taken care of everything...Desh is going to be fine. Please...don't move...you took quite a hit to the noggin back there:).''

''Your right....thank you Ajack.'' Lyu could muster only a slight smile from her lack of strength.

''Of course...'' he squeezed Lyu's hand tight to reasure her of how he felt for her.

Lyu's eyes were weighed down...after a few blinks...she was out like a light once again.

Sayne stumbled along the corridors, using the wall to brace himself. At that moment he haerd a familiar voice behind him

'Sayne!,'

He turned around and there stood Sora, her eyes filled with tears. She then ran to him and he smiled softly at her, even though pain shot throughout his body he embraced her as if it was the end of the world slightly resting upon her.

She then pulled her head back and looked up at him

'I....I..' she whimpered as tears ran down her face

Sayne placed a finger over her lips, 'Shhh, It's ok now,'

'A few of us got hurt badly, Liz, Darris and Lyu are down,' she said as she whiped her tears away

They then walked to the Med room where everyone was being held. They stopped by to see Lyu, she was up but in bad shape aswell as Darris who was trying hard to get up out of the bed.

'Just rest Darris, regain your strength,' spoke Sayne as they carried on to find Liz. Wich wasn't too hard to do seens how her father was making alot of racket

They pulled back the curtain and at that moment Liz's father wanted to kill Sayne

'You!....How could you let this happen to her!,' roared Jason who's face was stained with tears

sayne shook his head

'She's going to die because of you!,' roared Jason

'Well, If she dies there then she wasn't as strong as what I thought she was,' spoke Sayne in a monotoned voice

'Sayne...how can you say that?' whispered Sora who looked up at him

'Well if she really wanted to live, she'd fight....but I don't see it in her right now...and the only reason that I can come up with...is because of her father...we could hear what you were saying....,' replied Sayne as he looked coldly at Jason, 'and I wouldn't blame her if she did...,'

Jason suddenly sat down in an empty chair, 'I just don't want to loose her...she's all I have,'

Sayne walked up to him and placed a firm hand on his shoulder, 'Then imagine how she feels...when her only father...goes to war....think for a moment how she feels knowing that her father is doing this.....either way...you'll loose her, one is because you held her back and the other...might be because you let her go...noone can determine what will happen in war...but...you hold her back and she might just hate you for it...would you rather her hate you and loose her like that for what could be the rest of your life or would rather loose her for letting her do the things she wants to do....you can guarantee that you'll loose her your way...but you can't guarantee that you'll loose her..her way,'

Jason looked up at Sayne whos face showed no emotion, tears flowed from Jason's eyes, 'I wouldn't want to hold her back..not if she's going to hate me for it....I'd hate it...if she hated me...I don't think I'd beable to live with it,'

Sayne then patted Jason on the shoulder and then turned and left. Sora stayed to talk to Jason for abit more.

Sayne walked to the Dormantry and to his room, he lay down on his bed and looked up at the ceiling, he then began thinking about the Pegasus mech, he wanted answers but first he just wanted to rest.

He knew that there would proberly be another meeting about today...but all he wanted to do was just lay there

[FONT=Trebuchet MS][COLOR=Red]OOC: I'm going to lighten this RPG up for a couple of posts. I hope you people don't mind. Everything's so serious lately and I was just wanting to be normal teenagers for a bit, our characters I mean. So I hope you don't mind if I skip ahead a few days.

[B]Four days have passed....[/B]

Lately, Sora had been seen talking to a lot of the officers around the base. Sayne wondered what the hell she was doing. All of the MechAnima pilots had been given training schedules, each atuned to their differents needs of their MechAnimas. But somehow, she had managed to do all of their training (which was approximately 6 hours a day), do their school work (which they now had to do in amongst their training) and do this mystery job of hers.

" Does anyone know what she's doing?" Sakura asked them at breakfast where all but Sora and Liz were sitting at the table.

" No idea. She's doing all her training and school work," Keiji said, crossing his arms in thought, " She even beat me in that last maths quiz Mr Fei gave to us."

" Whatever she's doing, its a complete snow job!" Vick added, " I've talked to some of the officers I've seen her talking with and they won't tell me a thing!"

Sayne just sat there as everyone but Liz and him talked about what Sora was planning. Liz was still in the hospital wing of the base. She was in a critical but stable condition.

Ajack sat back in his chair and sighed. " Whatever it is, I hope its nothing bad."

At that moment, Sora came into the kitchen with a huge grin on her face.
" Everyone!" she shouted, getting their attention. " In light of no activity coming from the Cylargres in the past few days, General Rei and myself have organised a ball for the younger members of the base, including ourselves. Some of the civilian teenagers are also invited."

" A ball?" Darrius asked, " What the hell are we going to do at a ball?"

Sora smiled. " Dance, listen to music, drink, make friends, make lurve..." She laughed at her joke. Her mood was definitely lighter than most of the others.

" What are we supposed to wear?" Dale asked with an eyebrow raised.

" I already thought of that Dale. The Ball is tonight. In the base is a clothing room full of gowns and suits. You may choose one for tonight. We enter on our own, so no one gets left out. Dinner will be served there and then the party starts afterwards," Sora explained.

" So is this what you've been doing the last few days?" Lyu asked.

" Yup. Thought we might need a little party to lighten things up a little," Sora stated matter-of-factly.

" Right...." Vick murmured. All of them got up and left to do whatever they wanted, but Sayne and Sora stayed behind. Sora walked over to him.

" So, what do you think?" she asked.

" About what?"

" The Ball stupid!"

" Oh....that.....not my scene....."

Sora scowled. " Sayne De'Larne, if you don't go, I'm going to smack you one!"

Sayne looked at Sora and saw how serious she was about it. Sora then grabbed his arm and yanked him from the chair

'Now mister you go and find your suit!,' she said pushing him towards the door

'..Hn..' grunted Sayne as he walked out and to where the clothes were held.

He grabbed a white tux which came with a blue waist band and had a long tail that reached down to his knees, and no sleeves, The pants were also white with blue dragons up the sides. The style was Japanese looking, on the back it had a blue dragon with gold trim. He grabbed it and walked out while everyone was looking for theres.

He walked back to the Dormantry and walked into his room. He had a shower and got into his suit. It fitted perfectly and he liked it. he put on the white shoes and done up his hair...although...it only fell back to the way it was..but at least it suited the style...well so he thought. He finished getting ready and went out into the communal room and sat down and had a coffee

Sayne finished his coffee and thought about whether he'd go or not...he then remembered Sora's words, It meant alot to her and she had put alot of work into it.

[B]The Ball:[/B]

Sayne walked to the holding bay where they held the ball, there were alot of decorations hanging on the outside of the holding bay.

Sayne looked around for a moment feeling a little nervous..something he had never felt...he took a deep breath and then walked in.

The decorations were hung magnificently and there were balloons and other things. Coloured lights flashed around and stars hung down from the ceiling to the point where you could reach up and touch them. Streamers also hung down in the same fashion...Sayne had never seen anything like this before. It was truely a magnificent sight to behold. He made his way further into the room. There were alot of people there but lucky the place was huge. In the middle of the room was a huge square area and lights fashed upon it...Sayne had no idea what it was...his only interest was finding Sora...he was glad she pushed him to go..even though it didn't show on his face

[Redemption]

[COLOR=Red][FONT=Trebuchet MS]Sora sighed with relief when Sayne went to the Dress Room willingly.
" I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy."

Closing the door behind her, Sora looked around her room, searching for any grooming devices that will help her later tonight. After looking in the bathroom and under her bed, Sora managed to collect all the things necessary for the look she desired for tonight's Ball.

It was good that the Pilots had a chance to be normal teenagers for at least two hours. They weren't tools of war (although there would be some debate on Sayne) and piloting the MechAnimas in war took a lot of energy. Their bodies were exhausted, trying to keep up with their mechanical partners.

But tonight wasn't the night to be thinking about all that stuff. It was time to relax and be normal.

Sora walked through the many corridors of the base to the Dress Room. A female officer stood in there patiently, waiting for anyone that wanted a dress or suit to come in. She looked around and saw Sora.

" Ah! Pilot Avian! Finally someone comes in here."
" Hey. I'm here for a dress. Got any to suit moi?"
The officer smiled. " I have just the thing..."

[B]The Ball...[/B]

Sora walked into the holding bay. She gasped at how beautifully it was decorated. A job well done in a couple of hours and lots of man-and-woman power. Her sunset orange dress glimmered in the flashing white light. She looked over the heads of the crowd, trying to find someone she knew. Her hair held a dozen or so small butterfly clips and had glitter streaked throughout it. Across her cheeks was a soft shimmering gold and her lips were dark red.

" Where are you Sayne?"[/FONT][/COLOR]

Sayne searched the room hunting madly for Sora. He walked out onto the dance floor and looked across and there she was...he had to look twice..but he knew it was her. She stood there also looking around she didn'[t notice him walking towards her.

'Hello,' he said softly but loud enough for her to hear.

Sora turned and looked at him and smiled, He examined what she was wearing, he saw the butterfly clips in her hair and he touched one of them, then looked down at her, her cheeks a soft gold and the dress she wore made her even more stunning

'You....look.....beautiful,' Sayne spoke his voice not sounding so harsh

'Thank you....I honestly didn't think that you were going to come,' she said

'I knew how much it meant to you and how much work you put into it...it would of been wrong for me to do that,' he smiled at her

Sayne then took a bow infront of her, Sora smiled as she took his hand, Sayne then pulled her closer to him....this was the first time anyone had been so close...and normally he'd pull a gun...but not on Sora...he didn't feel that he needed to or that he wanted to. She put one hand on his shoulder, as he wrapped his arm around her waist and sayne held her other hand

'ready?' he questioned, she smiled

'You know how to dance?' she questioned him

He didn't answer as he then led her into a slow dance in time with the music

'You can dance!,' she smiled, her eyes glistening in the light, he then pulled down a silver star which hung down as they danced around, he then handed it to her

'You are my light...in the darkess of places....don't even go out,' he whispered into her ear as she took the star and he smiled

OOC: I thought it would be boring if there were only us pilots there. So I added in NPCs.

"Shit... a ball, huh? That's nice of her." Keiji said with slight nervousness in his voice. "But why should I feel nervous like this? It's not like any girls are gonna dance with me, right?"

"Fine, if you insist" He replied reluctantly. Walking into his room, he found some of his clothes were there. It seemed as though his family had given them to an officer, who had delievered them. His thoughts harked back to home, where he hadn't been for a while. Sighing deeply, he picked up the navy blue Japanese suit. It looked rather traditional; like something that would've been worn during very important events about 100 years ago.

It was pure silk, and felt like heaven to touch it. Gladly, he put on the suit, and made his way to the ballroom. He arrived there after a short walk, which took a considerable amount of time due to his clothes. Opening the door, he was speechless.

"... whoa ... It looks awesome."

"No problem there! That's my forte!" Keiji said confidently, walking into the crowded ballroom. He mingled with the sizeable crowd, talking to whomever seemed interesting. He caught glimpses of other pilots, but couldn't see what they were doing. He decided against dancing, since he wasn't very eager to ask any girls if they would like to.

''Lyu...where are you?'' Ajack thought as he put played another song for the soldiers and pilots to dance too.

''I think, This Love...by Maroon 5 will be a good choice...'' as he looked up from the stereo system, seenig Sayne and Sora dancing with one another. He was really happy for the two of them...especially Sayne...finally, as Ajack had hoped; he had found his peace.

He wanted to dance with Lyu so badly...they really hadn't had a romantic moment with one another for a while...before the battle, everthing was moving so fast between the two of them. Afterwards, Ajack was by her side the entire 3 days she was in the hospital wing. He wanted to have this night the happiest of her life.

The song was perfect.... It was a nice paced song...so people were really starting to get into it. Even Sayne seemed to be enjoying himself...rocking away with Sora. Ajack was dancing away himself next to the stereo...breaking dancing to his hearts desire. Thinking of Lyu...his heart flew...his spirit felt so free...he didn't care if he was dancing alone...he imagined that Lyu was there with him.

As the song came to a close...Ajack had an idea. He couldn't contain his feelings anymore...so he picked up a microphone and walked up upon stage.

''Goodevening everyone...I'm Ajack...Dj for tonights ball. Something that wouldn't have been possible without our own Sora Avian ladies and gentle...lets us all give her a round of applause for her dedication as not only a fighter...but as a true friend to us all.''

Everyone turned to Sayne and Sora and clapped for them for a good amount of time. Sayne looked up at Ajack with an annoyed and embarrased look on his face...but Ajack could see deep in his eyes...that he was happy.

''I would also like to dedicate this next song...which will be sung by none of than mua...to all you ladies out there. *applauds* There are plenty of bachelors and bachelorettes out there on the dance floor waiting for a partner...so please...seek them out. There is Keiji over there in the corner there...hey Keiji. And Ms. Elizabeth in the chair overthere near the bar. Darrius, Vick, Sakura, and all my other co-pilots are here as well. So all you ladies and gents out there...show them a good time:)''

All over the dance floor, women and men in their gowns and suits were getting together for the dance.

Taking a deep breathe...as the music began to play. Ajack looked quite handsome in his all black suit, tie, shirt and shoes. His blonde hair was neatly hanging over his shoulders, not being in a ponytail as it shined in the spotlight of the stage.

Ajacks voice was fantastic...it truly harnessed the true feelings of the song. The words were spoken with intensity and fire, as if it were Adams himself singing before them. His eyes were tearing up...and his face was sweating...but he didn't care. He needed to get out of him heart everything that had been building up to that point.

"Dress room, dress room.........." Dale muttered as he leant over the information console, searching for directions. "Where's the dress room?!"

It seemed to be taking forever to find his way through all the menus, submenus and so on, and the last thing he wanted right now was to be left with his own thoughts. He sighed, and gave the console maintenance panel a heavy kick. The impact was a bit louder than he'd intended, and left an ugly dent where he'd struck it.

"Oops.... Ah, there we go!"

A small map appeared on the screen, indicating his current position and the location of the Dress Room. Ironically, it was just around the corner. Dale smiled ever so slighty - he'd found it increasingly difficult to do so since the battle - and walked away from the console, quickly checking that nobody else had seen him kick it. Once he was confident no-one had seen him, he walked aroound the corner, and into the dress room.

In the end, despite some of the flashy suits they had on offer, he decided to go for something simple. He didn't want something that would make him stand out too much - he would have preffered not be there at all, but hey.. - so he went for a simple black suit, white shirt, and black shoes. The only 'different' thing he did was to get rid of the bowtie and wear his pendant on the outside for a change. He tied his hair back loosely, so that it would look 'presentable' and nothing more.

And with that final touch, he was as ready as he could hope to be.

Her father had come in periodically to check on her progress. She wasn't sure what had happened... all she knew was that he was doing a lot better. She smiled. "Maybe he's fogiven me..." she thought to herself.

She'd get visits from a lot of people, but lately Sora hadn't been around. Sayne had said she was being very evasive about a lot of things.

Later, she heard Sora's announcement and almost fell over. If there was one thing she felt uncomfortable with.... it would be formals.

Her father was away on different matters during that time. He had left her a gift though before he left. The nurses had brought it to her just that evening. She opened it up and it was a dress for the formal. She read the card and smiled.

"Oh Daddy..." she said aloud. She looked at the Nurses, and they smiled at her.

"You should be able to go. Just don't try any dancing..."

"That's not a problem." she said as they helped her out of the hospital room.

***** At the Ball *****

Elizabeth spent most of her time sitting at the tables. Being in the vicinity of a ball was enough for her to smile. She felt completely uncomfortable and ridiculous in the dress her father had bought her. It was a gorgeous dress.... and she felt.... weird being done up like that.... She read out of her book for most of the time, just enjoying the music and lighting. Sora had done a great job with the decorations.
