Semjaza
I really don't know. The first game I really remember loving was Atlantis for the Atari 2600. It's on that Activision Anthology on the PS2. Basically, it's like Missle Command, except you're Atlantis and you're shooting at all sorts of spaceships flying by. I remember watching someone play Super Mario Bros. many times at a neighbor's house before I had a Nintendo. I only got to play like once, since they hogged it all the time. I don't remember Super Mario Bros. having a large effect on me or Zelda, which I got next. I played both of them quite a bit, but I don't know if they really got me into gaming. I played lots of Legacy of the Wizard too, since that was my third game. I'd say the first game I really, really loved was Dragon Warrior. My mom got it for free when she resubscribed me to Nintendo Power. Nothing else like it really existed on the NES at the time. It was my first real exposure to console RPGs and I played it religiously. Considering how young I was at the time, I still think it's relatively surprisingly that I managed to get to the end of it. So, I'd probably go with Dragon Warrior. I still have an incredibly large softspot for the series and Enix in general, although I do feel it's based in something more than simply nostalgia. I still regularly play the old titles and many of them as good as I remember them being... 3 and 4 of the US releases in particular.
Erika
Oh God lol. Dragon Warrior pissed me off horribly. Chrystalis was THE game for me. XDD The game that got me into everything was just...hm. I think it was just the SNES. Period. That console was my god, and still is, along with the handhelds. Games, ANY game on there, mostly Zelda: ALttP, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger pulled me into it all. Ahhh...I'm glad I have those games too. ^_^
Matarael
Let's see... my family before myself were never big gamers. My grandparents in particular would cringe at the very mention of violence. However, the game that started my collection was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive, which I got when I was 7. This was followed closely by Echo the Dolphin. I guess my folks thought that games involving creatures with names would be alright for my younger self, and from there it was a simple matter of convincing them that all games were similarly tame. Now my console collection spans a fair amount, all thanks to the antics of a fast, blue hedghog!
Sir Auron
I think it should be the first few rgps that i bough for ps1 that got me into gaming, vandal hearts, suikoden 1 and final fantasy 7. after school i will rush home and start playing till midnight, continously for 1 month till i complete these 3 rpgs. Riesz
What really got me into gaming? Unreal Tournament. Weird game to start off with, I know. Before that though, I liked games, sure, but they weren't anything big. I played Mario and all but that was all. I started playing UT when I was 10 and I loved it because it was so face-paced and exciting. It was the demo and I was so excited to see the full-version. I remember playing the Morpheus map and jumping all over the place. It was so hard to get used to for me. The maps were amazing, the music was amazing, the single player was... enh. Haha. But the internet play was a lot of fun. Its because of UT that I started looking for more high quality games.
Vatch
The game that got me into gaming was Legend of Dragoon. Until then I had thought that video games were just a waste of time. After I first tried it I was hooked, I even skipped school a few times just to play it.
Gavin
Super Mario Bros. definitely Super Mario Bros., the NES was my first console and I played the game religiously when I was smaller. I remember just getting the console one Christmas and unwrapping it and thinking "What the heck" but after a few hours of playing the game I realised how much I enjoyed it and it was pretty much responsible for my love affair with Nintendo that has lasted all these years. In terms of PC gaming, Age of Empires was the game that got me into PC gaming for sure, I got it and again went through the same "WTH" I went through with SMB. After some very confusing attempts to play it I kind of got sick of it and stopped, then about a week later and turned it on and got into the swing of it, it hooked me and started my love of RTS. Other than AOE, the original Civilization was another of me early loves, along with the now forgotten Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which to this day I am still trying to buy. WingZero120
The games that really got me into gaming was megan, tekken, adn street fighters. The reason they got me into gaming was the kool game play. Megaman Was the kooliest character for the Nes besides Link. Tekken Wang was the all time best no one could beat me when i used him it was so funny, and street fighter was a great 2 player game with awsome 1 player action
